Have there been any issues with the pool today? I just got back from an out of town wedding and see that my miners had all failed over to the 3 pool I have them on. Primary is the stratum.kano.is and secondary is nya. Not sure what happened to cause it. Maybe my internet connection bounced a couple of times or something.

Kano restarted the computers. You should be fine now though.

I don't know why this is beyond disturbing. Please let us find a block BEFORE Manduul decides to eat his daughter's shit.  Shocked

Right here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg29061797#msg29061797

Yes, I was aware of that. I had blips in shifts quinn and again in sena and was just trying to decide why. Lost stratum and nya and ended up on my third pool. Not for long, about 15 min on quinn and 7 minutes or so on sena. Not to concerned, probably something on my end as no one else seemed to have the problem.

The length of time is not important because the rate changes with our pool size but it's the Diff% you go by.  The two highest Diff% blocks we've ever had were 875.193% on 10/22/2017 and 928.788% on 10/26/2017.  They can be found on the Block Statistics page.  We are at a Diff% of 229% right now. Should load the boat into this pool if we get one of those type of blocks...one of the worst luck spells if that occurs.

The pool had a 3 month stretch of decent luck so the question would be what is the expected amount of blocks for Feb?    5?

Monthly Statistics
UTC Month   Pool Avg   Blocks Expected   Mean Diff%   MeanTx%   CDF[Erl]   Luck%   PAPPS%
2018 January…   31.98PHs   8     6.87   85.86%   132.04%   0.3817   116.47%   152.40%
2017 December   26.21PHs   10     10.02   100.24%   129.11%   0.5450   99.76%   127.65%
2017 November   36.71PHs   16     16.48   102.97%   118.27%   0.5797   97.11%   113.82%
2017 October   101.93PHs   35     47.82   136.63%   107.46%   0.9774   73.19%   77.94%

It is interesting that when the pool had 100PH the luck fell well short of expected.  That was a bad time for bad luck since that might of sealed the fate of this pool not getting back to 100+PH again

Even though that is probably the rate you get from the evil pools like antpool each month from their pinch.
How bad does the luck have to be to payout worse than Slush if they had 100% luck?

I think Kano's pool is great but I am not sure why Avalon can't work with this pool to give it some beef.

Slush seems to have gotten the juice it needed:

As an fyi, minergain is still showing the mempool at 125MB, so still terrible - however there have been errors with blockchain.info overnight, so that may be part of why lower transactions that have been sitting there longer are getting through.  It never hurts to consolidate and www.minergain.com/faq.html#btctxfees will give you some options.  I always go about half of the weekly value and would try .00005 BTC/Kb.  Be sure to check the option to change the fee later if that is a setting in your wallet.
Thanks, followed your advice and consolidated with a .00005 BTC/Kb fee, got confirmed in less than 5 days.
Nice.  I had done one at .00004 after I posted this and it was immediate which was totally crazy..  So someone obviously fixed whatever issue was going on, but 5 days is still totally acceptable for the price since last month it took me about 2 weeks for .00005.

That is actually very good question. Slush, at the starting of the year is paying 0,01 BTC per week for 1 x 8TH/s miner. So, 1 month -> 0,04 BTC.

I might be wrong (others can correct me) but I think is a 100% luck or kinda...

What kind of bad luck needs to have Kano Poll for paying less than that? can somebody make the calculation?

The amount per block at slush vs kano isn't even close.  So at slush you have to hit a ton more blocks just to equal one at kano.

here's the calculation:

square root of the thingy over hash times luck to the difficulty of the network equals you're better off with Kano over time.

rifleman74 is right..  I did some napkin math and it seems Slush has about 55 times more hash power but pays 75-80 times less each reward.  If that number was around 60x less each reward that would seem ok, but yeah, they are bending people over too for that immediate satisfaction.

A little more clear math would be appreciated... also a numeric result is expected.

I've been with Kano since Jan 17th. I wanted to give it a shot for 2 weeks to see how it worked out as I've heard some very good things. Unfortunately, it is not what I was hoping it would be. The Ramp is much too long a period of time, the look and feel of the online site needs some serious TLC and the time between blocks -what can I say about that. Hopefully Kano can make some improvements and things turn around.

Good luck folks. BTC
