My s9 is back online....now to raise the hash rate again!
MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!
The s9 b23 at my main farm is also back up. Sorta.
Replaced the control board with one from a batch-13 (non-auto tune) that I had been using for spares. Works perfect and even better yet now that Frankenstein once again has Freq. control Smiley
Ohhhhhhh, I didn't know that was possible - non-auto tune control on a new S9.   Any chance you have other older controllers around?  Would you be interested in a swap?  (newer for older)
Wasn't sure if it would work but so far the combination is very happy.

Sorry, that 1 s9 was my only spare. I have s9's from batch-1 on up but am not about to cripple the older ones by dropping in auto-tune controllers...
Bumped the freq up from 575MHZ to 600 and hash rate climbed from ~11.8 up to 12.9THs. Happy happy happy!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!

The S7 is up, too.  But I got a text a while ago - everything at the house is quiet.
Time to replace a weak breaker. We're all up, for now.  Smiley

I noticed one of my machines does sound like a jet engine; an AE 3007C1 from inside the cabin at FL350.  Cool

Mine on!!!

I understood from the S9 thread auto tune is in software - you can drop in the fixed frequency firmware from Bitmain and fix the frequency lower for the auto tune S9's...only useful if you want to reduce temps (and hash) from what I gather

Mainly I want to reduce fan speed...  My S7s are fine at 30% speed, the S9s are like a jet engine (even though they're in a cooled room)...   so you think one could load an older non-auto tune firmware on a newer S9?

It's been a strange day - the S7 going down this morning, the stuff at the house going out this afternoon, not to mention the stuff at the day job. I guess I must like it.

I'll have an A741 in about 10 days.   Grin

I haven't tried it - just read it in the S9 thread.
My S9's I go for soundproofing.

Thinking about replacing them with 841's now, those can be got at a pretty decent price.

Well, just stick around for a handful of days to ensure you're fully ramped up before wondering why you might get the impression that your first few payouts aren't as much as you're potentially expecting.

Scenario 1: Let's say you've been mining here for the entirety of the last two (2) blocks. Well, the pool payout method looks back over twice that far, so until you've been here for 500% of the current Network Difficulty, you're not fully ramped up to full payouts. Obviously, if you've only been mining here half of the look back period, you would only be at half payouts.

*** Keep in mind that you're not losing anything during the ramp up like many have misunderstood before.

Scenario 2: On the other hand, even if you give up mining--not recommended by the way Wink--the opposite scenario is also true. Let's say you've been mining for a while then quit. Now, as time move on, the shares you submitted are eventually on the back half of that 250%, for example. Then, if we find a block, you'll still get a half payout even though you're no longer mining. Nice, huh?

Mine on with Kano!

Buy more miners and put them in the pool to increase the chance that we solve blocks more frequently? Buy solar panels and batteries so you're not paying for electricity? Wait for better times?
