Reports that things are happening on The other Square (ToS) have reached the King's ear. Military was mobilized but the incident did not turn into actual riot. Overall, very few items were destroyed or even damaged, which can be seen from /ITEMS_U.

Chancellor must responsibly step down following the Great Calamity.

Perhaps there is a new Chancellor who wishes to step forward and direct a rebuilding process for a New University. If not, then I would propose in my letter of resignation that the University be dissolved, the assets (remaining building, gold, and wreckage) be returned to the donators in approximate proportion to their donations, and the remaming unbuilt land be returned to the Town. I leave this final decision to the Town.

We only have so many organizing-capable people in the Kingdom, and it seems clear that Marquess Cryptoluna cannot spare his time. The resignation is accepted. There was an earlier incident with the Bishop as a defunct member of the Town Council, and we played him out to make room for the new ones. That also worked, so hopefully this is a right decision.

This is the important thing - we have currently more wealth than time/talent to manage it. The most talented of the new players will be able to rise to very high wealth management positions very soon, as Lord noms now (some say he is practically controlling the Church with its 10k+ gold and 1,000s sqm of floor area).

Our thoughts have developed. The high towers are probably unsafe to build - just look at the massive damage PofC&S (same decade and plan as University) suffered. We are contemplating of even demolishing it or lowering the height. The University will not be built in the same way again. We have an idea of a sprawling campus where anyone could sponsor a SCI institution that would get a bonus from being part of the University. Possible land for this could be found in the Cul&Sci.

As for the finances and possible returning of the donations, we checked the books and indeed:
- For 26 years (1569-1595), the University did not generate a single point of science.
- There is a -50 mil recent outpayment with no explanation.

The former is a sad fact now, the latter needs to be investigated.

One simple improvement would be to widen some of the grand boulevards.

Some streets are becoming chokepoints in heavy traffic, or if visitors come with carriages, which need to be parked on the street.
- The East Main Street from Central Square to Culture Square is very crowded
- When TIE haw is built, the NL street towards the Central Square will be crowded
- The West Main Street at NP, is also becoming crowded

There is not much that can be done to East Main Street, what we are thinking mainly is if the road in NL haw could be widened. It was pondered to demolish both the Town Hall and Annex in the process, but since it is a Cultured building, the consensus in Prince of Soul office is to repair it at a great cost.

Our best days are yet ahead of us.

The Easter break was much needed and I am back to work now. The 12-page specification document is delivered to the developers, though since they have been developing it all the time, it still needs mending work to combine their efforts with mine.


Subgames


Household - No major changes, except spending on your Household gives both culture and a Hall of Fame of its own

Special - Nascent industries, such as RWWC and North Face, will produce IND points that ar the intermediate measure of their production of Items and building goods, although no comprehensive management of either is coming yet in this version

Resta - No major changes, except localized pools for all Boroughs that add realism and make income from different types of restaurants more possible.

Hotel - Will go back to its roots of being a Royal Monopoly, with licences traded in shady deals and existing Hotels that meet the requirements enjoy a rather steady income. (Hotels have been a too prominent part in a 1500s town of only 2000 inhabitants).

Army - The Guarding value is CU-RT(Officer_value*Soldier_value*Building_value), but the troops may also Train with no income from guarding but faster promotions. The board game version of Battle Engine will be released separately soon, to find out if it is suitable for becoming a part of the game in later versions.

Peddler - A new subgame is harvesting value from everywhere around the town with your Peddler Squads. Everybody needs wares, and the new players can employ a few NPC to provide them, with no building investment required.

Rental - If your building is not used in any of the other purposes, renting it out in one of the 4 pools (Apartment, Office, Commercial, Meeting) whose formulas benefit different constructions/layouts, is a way to gain income. No NPC needed.


Other features


Church has a prominent role and may grant Blessings and REL points. They also have various orders where you can enlist and gain ranks and benefits.

HLP (help) is a new point that the lower-level players can daily give to someone (expires if not used). They reduce the cost of building projects of the receivers. This is intended to foster cooperation between ancients and new ones.

It is possible to buy clothes from SirJacket, but they expire quickly. Oldies may use their old clothes.

Apart from the screens already announced, the economic subgames can also be managed intuitively.

My exquisite preview of the "graphics engine" was a wow effect, instantly reminding of the 1980-early90s gaming
