His Majesty is interested in a deal where stone would directly be distributed to the shareholders, who would pay the costs in proportion.

But if this is not coming, it seems that we will have to try to procure our stone some way, and are interested in hearing the pricing and terms.

In answer to Roopatra, I would favor some limited public offering as I would like the change to buy more shares myself.

As the one taking the risk on this arrangement as it stands, I had some interest also in such deal, but after Asenath looked at the books she saw that with the arrangement you propose, a public offering would likely fail.   At the production rate and costs of RAQ as it stands, if the capital costs are not considered at all, and only the labor and equipment breakage, the costs assessed to the shareholders would be over 200 per stone.  I advised her that I was indeed confidant in her management skills and that if she would undertake the effort, I would back the costs but would want to sell some shares to others as well.  Her own operation is close to half of that cost (not counting costs of capital, only labor and lost equipment) lately NLQI is around 115 per stone and possibly headed lower if volume can be increased.

BUT...Accomplishing that takes some significant capital investment as well as insight and luck.  On the capital, interest or opportunity cost is lost.  That capital is sunk and gone and might only be seen again if both the Quarry and the Kingdom thrive and prosper, (which we think it will but not all have such an eagerness for risk).  Some are working at making a living and simply need a good investment to make that easier that won't cost them anything more along the way.

So that is how we came to the current arrangement.  If Asenath is as successful as I think she will be, the quarry will be productive.   But to get from here to there... and also to have a chance of selling some shares... someone has to take the downside risk, and to have an IPO we need to let the shareholders have the upside rewards without assessing future costs that they can not control.

So Like NLQI, we would want the shareholders to get stones at the lowest price, non-shareholders get the mid-price.  If the quarries are productive, these prices are sure to fall, and the quarries will seek to be productive.

His Majesties wishes and wisdom are renowned, and after all is said and done, that is why His Majesty is our king.
So Now.... I can not speak for Roopatra, and ultimately it is her decisions as she is the owner.....  Perhaps a special class of share may be issued to accomplish precisely what it is that His Majesty is seeking.  I can see how it can be done, but I suspect it would be attractive to only a select few who can absorb the higher risks and potentially higher rewards.  
The special class of share would provide direct delivery and payment daily of costs of extraction, but would be expected to be priced higher because it not only deprives the quarry of any potential winfall rewards from its efforts, if it were priced the same, there would be no funds or incentive to expand quarry operations.  To me it seems a simple arrangement, but I can see how it could look complex to those less accustomed to such things.

HM is in a special circumstance and may see these as an attractive option, and frankly I agree that it is just so, albeit on a longer investment horizon.  But... there is only one king after all.  Would any others like that sort of arrangement?  Would any like something more like the NLQI model?  It could be an opportunity to ride along on a turnaround of a struggling operation and reap the benefits of that.  The more quarries we can bring to profitable production, the quicker our city can be built.

I am interested in purchasing shares, probably more so in line with the NLQI model, but would consider seriously the model proposed by HM. Can both  options be made publicly available?

Might it benefit from doors leading to the front two gardens or are these not depicted?  The Top floor seems to have a door that leads to a drop of one storey.  Though it may simply be an artifact of the view.

The Earl of Soul Embassy Tower opened in 1-C-F10

After a generational hiatus in building to the Old Town, The Marquess of Forte Spagnolo has relinguished his former investment property to development and the person formerly knows as Dr. Choo has taken a keen interest on it.

The Embassy Tower is an important building due to its opening a new era for foreign professional envoys and their permanent offices. The aim is not to diminish the Noble Palace's market share but to grow a new one.

The town records this building makes (maybe others also):

- Tallest building (a full 30 m, in accordance with the new rules and town council permission)
- 6 floors of 3-5 m height, but counts only as 4 floors in taxation, due to the highest being 50 sqm, next-highest 102 sqm and the lower ones 200+ sqm.
- Highest efficiency rating e = 2.54.
- Most expensive building upon construction (about 1.14 billion at stone "ask")
- Highest amount of Extras spent (54 million for metal supporting beams in 6x6 low arch rooms)
- First 1:1 window ratio room, with 36 units of windows in a 36 sqm room. The room is part of the Earl of Soul Reception Suite, which is at elevation 20; 5 m high, and has breathtaking views (no other building save the Tsurugajo Art Gallery and the Donjon has a room this high) to all over the city and beyond, from its rooms and the adjoining 160 sqm roof garden.
- Greatest number of Opulent doors (155) and staircases (68).

Dr. Choo is created Earl of Soul. "We feel the utmost relief and pleasure in being able to elevate our long-term co-worker to the ranks of landed Nobility. The suitable location for these magnificent statues would be our first-floor north-facing balcony above the main entrance (the railing, one on each end, facing the street, the Central Square, and the Royal Palace). This is the balcony that has access doors from 2 of the most exquisite and prestigious 36 sqm embassy halls, and from where the foreign envoys and their interpreters may give speeches to the crowds gathered in the square in front of the Grand Hotel.

The Town is Prospering

This year marks the 128th anniversary of the Town of CryptoTown, and also the official date for the town to become self-sufficient from its debts incurred during the first phase of online version development.

Although we are sure that future commitments will burden the town economy, we are equally sure that the robust economy is able to support them.

In anticipation of the great influx of new visitors and players in the following decades, the Town has opened the rest of its land for sale in the 1-NE chapelry. The price has been set rather high to ensure that only the most needing of the nobles are able to buy it, and build their town palaces there. There is some other land for sale in the Old Town also, and the prices are set by the owners, and listed in the CK City Map and Building Registry /LAND REGISTRY tab.

We do not want to discourage the quarry owners, just to remind that the town is at present eager to exercise its option to redeem the lands of any closing quarry for the 150 million as stipulated in the contract. It is becoming public knowledge among the multitude of the NPC office staff (plus of course the workers who see it in their own eyes day after day) that only one quarry has even "hit the stone" yet, but the rumors from those who claim to be able to decipher the secret code say that some of the others are just about to.

All quarries got 1 question (saddam: 2) yesterday, we are able to answer the unused ones starting from 8pm GMT today.

You will note the quadrat highlighted in the second image - lots are highlighted as you mouse over them, allowing you to select a lot and get information on it (this is currently at a quadrat level at the moment).

More details to come, and as soon as we have a few more pieces in place we'll open it up as a testbed for everyone to mess around and break it before we make the permanent switch over to it.

After careful consideration (and much eagerness from potential share holders) I have decided to open the newly renamed Roopatra Asenath Quarry Corporation to public shareholders.

After some negotiations we have secured both the top management team and a solid financial backing for the quarry.  I have great confidence in the capability of the new team.  As the initial investor in this quarry I will continue to stay involved, but the actual operations will be handled by Asenath of New Liberty, with Prince Joseph providing any financial backing and cover any cost overruns that may be necessary to get the operations on track.

With the long term prospects of this operation thus secured, I have been persuaded by you good people of the Crypto Kingdom to let everyone take part in what now may be the hottest new investment.  Due to all the interest expressed privately among those that got word this was happening, and in order to give more than just the few people that are online at the time of the IPO a chance to participate, the RAQ will use His Majesties model for gold auctions to issue the initial shares.

The management team is only willing to let go of 160 shares at this time of the IPO, but expects to conduct open market operations afterwards.
