...and power consumption is not the same on all algos.

yep, on 750Ti. for me it starts from 38 - 43 watt based on algo.

on 280x as well: depends on ram usage and how well the kernel is optimised (and probably other factors).
it can easily swing from 150W to 200/220W.
Yes and he didn't have a true read out ....... all hand written.

Good cards. But they draw 200-250w. The x11 kernal is not optimal. You should mine something else.
4 750ti's draw 260 watts.

4 R9 Nano's draw 400 watt while doing 11Mhz per card!..   Wink

Is that at the wall? My fury draws more than 300 watt, the single card! And it's the same chipset.

yup ...

apparently the nano has mixed specs of the fury x and fury - but with a much lower power draw - and a much smaller size mate ...

very impressive cards ... but very expensive cards Smiley ...

#crysx

980 performance in a half length card with only one 8 pin power connector, it's only a matter of time for someone
to build a 2x-nano.

Unlikley as Nanos are cherry picked FuryX's... When chips are binned you only get so many that operate at lower voltages and that's why the price is so high.

Hi Guys. did you see that speed?

https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=news&id=53

damn... amd again can be more profitable than nvidia.
Look at X11 speed. 11.72mh with r9 280x.

P.S. wolf, is it your work on nicehash?

This is also unlikely to change anything. People that are mining on X11 currently all have private kernels and people that don't, don't mine it... So I suspect relatively little will change.

Although dangerous that R9-280xs from years ago are back in the running. Somedays I wish I still had my AMD rigs, then other days I realize I sold them because they gobbled too much power and there was nothing to mine with them when I sold them.

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

R9 Nano mining results + power draw

This is pretty crazy especially considering that it's based on the same 28nm process as the Maxwell series.

As if GPU mining profitability taking a huge dive wouldn't be bad enough, AMD stomping on Nvidia once again is making things kind of sad.

agreed - but having that sort of competition is good ...

it makes improvements in code and sdk - such that the optimal performance will be standard and NOT just for the elite ...

good figures for the 980 btw ...

If only the AMD community was as nice as the Nvidia community here...

Same with the developers. Not saying that the amd developers are bad. But it's just not like Nvidia..

yeah well, as far as the devs are concerned... I think you have no clue about what you are talking...

Having written algo for both nvidia and amd, the only difference between the two is that for nvidia there is someone which doesn't do any work and ask people to send him the donation instead to the real developer...
and with amd you get message from Wolf0 telling you, that you could have done it better (as well as a few clue to where to look...)  Grin

I just gave you 5% more quark on the gtx 970 and 5% more lyra2v2 on the gtx 950 and gtx 960.

The 5% lyra2v2 increase have given me 0 BTC in donations and I've spent many hours.

The lyra2v2 optimalizations doesn't work on the 750ti and the gtx 980/980ti cards.

It seems that you are your good old grumpy self again Djm.
Why always the negativity?

It seems that you're not so happy with AMD giving Nvidia a big kick in the but. Isn't that what this is all about?

Who said anything about donations? He was talking about the "community", i believe that that means, the people involved. Not only the developers, the miners as well.

And yes. The opencl compiler is crap, that's a well known fact. Plus so many other reasons. So developers tend to lean towards nvidia. Which is normal.

Wolf0 is a different story, again i have no clue what his part is in this conversation.

Well, i hope i have lots of growing up to do.  Wink

Let us leave it like this and let us not take over this thread with bullshit.  Cool

If you want to test the latest @git the cryptomining blog has just compiled a new version. release 77+

http://cryptomining-blog.com/6341-updated-windows-binary-of-the-ccminer-1-5-77-git-fork-by-sp-for-maxwell/

DJM34's Neoscrypt kernal is hurting when compiled with cuda 7.5.

I managed to increase it 50% faster on the 750ti with some tuning.  (from 60KHASH to 90KHASH). (release 74 cuda 6.5 is doing 180khash)

After changing the compiler from 6.5 to 7.5, all the kernals has to be retuned/rewritten. This takes time, but is Necessary.

Why don't you try release 77 and the quark algo on your 980ti's. My G1 gigabyte is showing +1.2MHASH per card from release 74 to release 77 on the standard clocks. (+4.55%) 27,7 MHASH

DJM34's Neoscrypt kernal is hurting when compiled with cuda 7.5.

I wonder why the kernal is perfoming so shit with Cuda 7.5. Djm34 will say that the compiler is shit, but I say that the code is shit.

There is nothing negative in my message, I am just a bit tired of people moaning each time amd or nvidia become the fastest...

There is a lot less negativity in what I wrote than in the message I was responding, and clearly you didn't understand at all what I was saying, so let me rephrase it for you  Roll Eyes :

Regarding which one is the fastest: I couldn't care less, I program for both...  Grin
Regarding nvidia/amd communities: I reiterate, there is no such thing as an AMD or an NVIDIA communities there are miners period.
hence: grow the fuck up  Grin (seriously nvidia is the fastest, people buy nvidia; amd is the fastest people buy amd... that's all there is to these so called communities... )

Regarding the fact that devs tend to lean toward nvidia... this is just not true (even if I prefer cuda...), there are far more people in here developing for opencl than there is for cuda...
