these devs would not even think of requesting btc for their work IF they were already getting enough donations / payments from the mining communities ... what is enough? ... well that is for the communities to decide - and then for the devs to decide whether their own work is valuable enough FOR the communities ...

I am sorry, it isn't to the community to decide but to devs to make the community understand that hours (or weeks) or work are worth something (most of them have a daily jobs, if the client of the enterprise where they work decide that what they do is worthless, then they should get paid nothing... you see what will happen.

So no, it isn't to the comunity to decide, it is to the community to understands that hours of works at coding miner should be paid in the same way as any hours of work in any kind of field period.

hi all ...

i see a lot has happened with the testing and miner release ...

sp - ill be in the office later today ( and will be there for the next few days ) to get a LOT organized - which includes the 'big' machine ... so testing will begin with what i have currently on your latest ccminer-spmod78 c75 ...

djm34 - i would really like to see the neoscrypt miner running on my system - but i cant put 2.5btc forward to see it ... if there is no other way but to wait to see it - then that is what ill do ... i will ( and have ) donated to you in the past - and will continue to do so regardless of whether i advertise i do or not ...

#crysx
would be nice if anything regarding the pledge get posted on the pledge thread so I don't have to browse through all that...
I don't know where you saw anywhere that I was asking individual miner to pay 2.5btc, I am asking for contribution from miners
so I get around 2.5btc in total for my work (knowing that Nicehash will contribute as well to the pledge, the crowdfunded part is less than 2.5btc.

Now if  2.5btc for a 2weeks work (and probably more than 8hours/day) makes you cringe, then may-be you should ask a raise yourself, because in my country it comes to a rather low salary...  Roll Eyes

re-read what i wrote djm34 - you have misread it ...

i am saying i personally dont have 2.5btc that i can pay MYSELF - because im disheartened by the fact that only a FEW miners in this MASSIVE community of miners donate / pledge ... if i had 2.5btc to give NOW - i would ...

i think its disgusting that miners in general ( and i mean the VAST MAJORITY of the community of miners ) USE and MINE with the software developed by skilled hands such as yours and other skilled devs - only to give nothing back to the devs ...

#crysx
yeah I agree with you, that's why if the pledge doesn't reach the target donation, it will be distributed only to those who contributed (or reimbursed in full)

THANKS FOR YOUR WORK, DJM34!!! --

I sent a donation your way.  If you would put the link for the new (?) donation thread in your bottom margin, miners would wander that way.  I participated in the first development for nVidia, and hope many will join in this time.       --scryptr

EDIT:  I used the new Neoscrypt donation BTC address.  It is very similar to the old one at the start, I almost donated to the old address.  Please post a link to the new thread, or put it in your margin.  This thread gets long fast, hard to look things up.       --scryptr

of course ...

but one of the points i make - is that all of my donations and 'pledges' i make - are NOT tracked - as i dont expose which transactions are mine ... and i wont ... so how will you know whether i actually donated / pledged? ... you cant ...

im happy to donate as just that - a DONATION ... so i dont expect anything back from it ... ive purchased private windows miners which i cant use due to the fact that i dont use windows ( and likely never will ) ... as have a few others here in this community who actually give a damn about it ...

but i dont want ANY of the pledge money back ( i have yet to make THIS pledge - but i will ) - as i ( and many here ) will gladly DONATE the pledge money anyway ... you can keep it ... i cant speak for anyone else - but if a whole COMMUNITY of miners cant come up with 2.5btc for ANY reason - then it shows how much they care about the devs welfare ... and i mean ALL the devs ... thats what i find disgusting ...

im putting some btc for the quark kernel - some btc for the neoscrypt pledge - some more btc for the distribution to other devs ... all i need now is to find a way of proper distribution to you all ... if willing community members want to come forward and help with advice on how - or with ideas - im all ears ...

Your private miner, s p_ , would appeal to more miners if it were an "all-in-one" solution that could be used with NiceHash Miner.

My private miner available for sale for 0.1BTC is an all-in-one solution.

neoscrypt (same as release 74)
X11 is up 30khash (750ti) (+1%)
x13 is up 100khash(750ti) (+4.3%)
x15 is up 66Khash(750ti) (+3.3%)
quark is up 200khash(750ti) (+3.2%)
lyra2v2 is up 250khash(750ti)(+6%) (asus strix 5150Khash (with +150 oc))

Why don't you donate 0.1BTC and check it out.

Sp - have you tested to see if your new Lyra2v2 is working with Lyrabar?  That would determine if I purchase this right now.  Thanks - pokeytex
It doesn't (and won't) because there is a bug in the header of the wallet and it is up to the coin dev to correct the bug...

Weird - I am solo mining it no problem with "ccminer-lyra-binaries" which I downloaded.  However when I try SP's versions it doesn't mine at all - or is extremely slow.
which version is it "ccminer-lyra-binaries" (I mean which author ?)

It says at the top of the header - built by you. "ccminer lyra edition for Nvidia GPUs by Djm34"

SP_ PRIVATE MINER BENCHMARKS--

I have donated and received sp_ 's private miner and benchmarked it with NiceHash Miner and my GTX 960 SC.  I have the following results:

Latest release of sp_ dot 74+

Private Miner based on release dot 78

Both benchmarks were taken over 60 seconds, even though the Radio Dot on the first is in the "standard" setting.  That is just the default position when the dialog box is brought up.  Release dot 74 is compiled with CUDA 6.5.  Release dot 78 (and the private miner) is compiled with CUDA 7.5.

       --scryptr

results gtx 960:

keccak: +20%
lyra2v2: +11,64%
quark: +3.07
Qubit: +3.03%
Nist5: +2.2%
x11: +2%
x13: +1.8%
Whirlpoolx: +1.2%
Neoscrypt: -3.5%

If you include x15 and sum the gain, this is a 43% increase of the algorithms that can be mined at nicehash.

The private bin is for sale for just 0.1BTC in donation.

2.5BTC is not that much and I belive you will get it. The problem now is that only the big miners are contributing. The small miners doesn't care.. Come on ppl. 0.01 btc is more than 0

FURTHER ADVENTURES WITH PRIVATE MINER--

After reducing the size of my RAMDisk from 4GB to 640MB on a 16GB system RAM Win 7 x64 rig, I got better results from my EVGA GTX 960SC with 2GB DDR5.  The results follow:

Mining Neoscrypt with GTX 960 SC single card, light computer load

Mining Quark with GTX 960 SC single card, light computer load

The Neoscrypt rate now equals or exceeds my former sp_ release dot 74 rates, which were above the benchmarks made within 60 seconds.  The Quark rates exceed my former release dot 74 rates by at least 300kh/s.  I usually acheived 11MH/s mining Quark with release dot 74 at low CPU and memory load on the same system in current use.

@TheWolf

is this EVGA bucks program worldwide or its just for US/EU? I used to fold back in the day, about same time bitcoin was released but didn't knew about it. I would love to do it again, now that mining is earning me nothing, if i can buy EVGA products doing this. Also will a 970 & a 750ti be enough to get to 1.5mil points?

Its worldwide as far as I know people from all over the world fold for Team EVGA.

Edit: and yes they should, but can't say how many days it will take you to get that 1.5m.
The 960 turns in the ball park of 50k to 70k points per work unit returned, each unit can vary in points so that's why the difference in final points value.
The first 10 units returned will not get the QRB=Quick Retun Bonus.

Quote

FAQ: Passkey
Perhaps more interestingly, we have introduced a new Quick Return Bonus (QRB) points program, which is tied to passkeys.  To earn this bonus, you must use a passkey.

What are the qualifications for the QRB?

The bonus is applied for users who use a passkey, have successfully returned at least 10 bonus-eligible WUs, have successfully returned 80% or more of assigned WUs, and returned the unit before its Timeout (formerly Preferred Deadline). Bonus points do not apply to partial returns.
So once those first 10 are completed your set for the big points, which doesn't take long to add up.
The first 10 units is pretty much a one time thing & only get basic points for there return.
So don't be shocked at the 1st 10 units points value when they show up. The ones after those are the ones that will make you  Grin
http://folding.stanford.edu/home/faq/faq-points/#ntoc7
PM me if you need any more help so we don't get off topic any more.

i have spent a huge amount of time trying to get the 6 cards to work - and its still not working ... no matter what i do it just does not want to work - and im not wasting my time installing windows either ...

so ill be splitting the machine into the card setup - 4 x gigabyte 980ti g1 for one machine ( and ill be ordering another gigbayte 980ti g1 to complete the set on this machine ) - and 2 x gigabyte 980ti extreme on another machine which ill grow into 5 or 6 cards - depending on whether they will work or not ...

i will just need to organize a deal with my mate for the extreme cards ... see what he says ...

i dont have 0.1btc as yet ( spent on other parts of the granite ecosystem ) so i need to mine this btc to get your private kernel ...

unless of course you are willing to do a deal - and 'loan' me the private and ill mine the 0.1btc + a donation ...

either way im good with it ...

o ok ...

i thought it was source code as well - so we can compile it for linux? ...

i wont do windows ... its too much work for me - especially for him as he is IT illiterate - and i dont want the continuous support ... linux is literally plug and go ...

im actually quite upset that you are not releasing this miner in linux sp ...

im getting more and more frustrated with that - as i continue to donate which is one thing and i am happy to continue to do so ... but to purchase private miners and CONTINUALLY not be able to use them? ... thats starting to frustrate the hell out of me mate ...

ill look for another way of getting the miners to get optimized ...

there is no way im installing windows on his system ... no way ... im the only IT guy he has that knows this stuff - and i wont be doing any more than a brief support for him ...

linux is the ONLY os i will be using - no matter how BIG thefarm gets ...

pity sp - i was hoping there was a private miner i could use ... real pity ...

i think i will start to hold my own commissions from now on - when i get a little more stabilized - for the private miners for thefarm ... linux only - private only ... bounties will be placed and commissioned and i wont have to worry about windows miners ever again ...

sounds like a plan i think Wink ...

o and djm34 ( in case you want to chime in here about my 'offers' ) - the bounties will be similar to the pledges you are making for the kernels ... ill prepare them over the coming weeks ...

im tired being locked out of optimizations that 'belong ONLY' to a select ( windows ) community ... and i dont think im the only linux user to feel this way ...

But my private kernal is windows only. If you install windows for your mate you will get 6 cards working and he can use the nicehash miner for optimal profit switching.
o ok ...
i thought it was source code as well - so we can compile it for linux? ...

Yes it can be compiled for linux. The optimalizations works on linux as well. But At this stage I don't want to share the source code.

thats kool ...

its your code mate ... im ok with it ...

i am just fed up with all this windows stuff that is coming out ... i understand your point of view - but people like me have more than proven themselves with privacy and support - and im now fed up with the lack of it concerning these sorts of things - especially when you DO release it so it can be compiled - the age of the optimization is over ...

im all for opensource - as you know - and im all for private sales also to benefit you as a dev ( due to lack of REAL support from the mining community ) - BUT - im now at that stage of being tired of being the last in the line to get optimizations - when im ONE OF THE FEW that put our first feet forward to help with donations and mining and creating options for donations ...

all good mate ...

Same problem in sgminer. You can't get the fastest quark and qubit kernals to work on linux because you miss the sourcecode of the sgminer itself.

Ask Wolf0 and Kuchur why they don't publish their sourcecode.

Donations has been dry lately, thats why I am sharing some of my private work. 0.1BTC is nothing for some of you.

There are just more Windows miners out there.

It's simple, it's like the people i know who buy a macbook/imac because the risk of a virus is smaller they say. Of course it is. If you would turn the world around and the percentage of windows based computers was the same as it is right now for MacOS based computers, there wouldn't be as much viruses for Windows either.

Correct me if i'm wrong here:
if it's possible to compile a Windows version, why wouldn't it be possible to compile one for Linux without including the source code?
Isn't that principle the same?
Or is it just easier to decompile?

Edit: i guess the above post from sp answers that.

The donations links are not being used. Private kernals is the only way to earn money as a kernel developer..
