So glad the interest in smart contracts is picking up. Would be great if people start entering smart contracts for shits and giggles. Like betting on stupid challenges and whatever. It's supposed to be used for serious trading, sure, but it's got huge meme potential as well. On the short term it makes sense for people to be frivolous and experimental with it. There hasn't been a proper etiquette established around it yet.

Check out Bhalo as well.

Hahaha yes offcourse when the function is available a lot of people will be messing around a bit.

But just to get a hang of things and learn how it works Tongue

You know, a great way to start playing with smart contracts is betting. And we do have the NFL homestretch and playoffs coming up: -) what about an informal thread with some friendly wagers ...?
If going the "fantasy football" route, it may be viable, but straight out betting may be a bad idea - at least here in North America where the regulators are trying to criminalize that online practice. THAT would not give BitBay a great reputation.

Just picked up another 17,000 BAY, I cannot believe what people are selling thier coins for. Why would anyone want to let their coins go at or below what try paid at ICO? Or is this just buy/sell support to stabilize the price till the market picks up and figures out what an extraordinary potential this coin/community this is!

Think of it as a gift. Don't worry about them. Just silently build up your stash.  Grin Everyone here knows what is going to happen. And when it happens... holy !$%.

Getting cheap coins is competitive dont be surprised if people try to get them cheap. I will tell you guys what I can do. I can try to get a DEMO wallet out for smart contracts in Bay. I will do that before completing my work on markets.

Re: Staking
The network appears to be producing as expected numbers during my testing up until midnight, last night PST (-8 GMT), and now this AM, which started about 30 minutes ago.

Payouts come in waves/clusters so be patient. Yesterday, they were between 4-6 hours per wave. Although the APR stated can be seen as low @ 1%, it is still nice to see the BAY-tips arrive and add to my staked value.

Below is based on a 1M Bay account so the current range of 1.5-1.7 BAY per round is good.  Grin

It's basically a simple order system

Yes you can put an order for any discount you desire, but someone is very unlikely to folk out 100% more than they need to for the bitcoin they want, while giving you 50% discount on an item you want, just for them to wait days for it to finally get out of escrow so you have the bitcoin.

Now its true you can put in orders for 10% less than actual price but it's still someone buying bitcoin for 10% more than their actual value and then having to wait days to finally get the bitcoin.

It makes purchasing bitcoin even more difficult than the other 50 ways there already are while at the same time making it more costly, not easier.

Few reasons:

Sell on your own buy wall
Panic sellers sell
You buy their coins
Now you have more cheap coins than you previous had
Profit???

@Bitbay

We are all BTCtalk junkies and seen what works or not. Why not open up a suggestion board to see what things the community can come up with to make Bitbay the best?

At this point, with a clear road map already presented, perhaps it would be best for them to follow that? I would think they have their time spoken for in projects and goals already set, would hate to try to redirect them. What do you think?

David

1) Has contact been made with Peter? or Sergio http://coinspect.co/services

2) Plans to add to BTCHINA or Huobi?

3) Any thoughts on contacting Skycoin to see want collaboration can be done?

4) Any thoughts on contacting Trezor to make it Bitbay compatible so you have the security of Bitbay and the security of the computer using it?

@Bitbay can chime in on #2

Trezor is not needed. I can hide keys in JPEG or PNG and then there are two keys and you can store them on two different computers or a flash drive. Also, its possible to have hardware for the second key.

Keep in mind you are probably not really top 25 because of the amount of people just holding their BAY on BTER.

Yes many big players have their fortunes on BTER.

So if they are to withdraw a big shift will happen Tongue
