I am heavily invested in Ultracoin also  as I believe transaction speed will play a big part in the coming years.

I'm just curious as to why one would pick Ultracoin because of transaction speed. Many POS coins are almost instantaneous now. Darkcoin is about to rollout what will probably be the fastest by far of all currently as they can avail themselves of a 2-tier technology to support transaction speed.

Even Bitbay itself is probably about as fast as Ultracoin. What's the pull ?

Darkcoin "instant" transactions will take 20-30 seconds to confirm on the real network. This has been confirmed by the DRK dev himself.

All this has been explained to us and questions on the subject have been answered. The poster of the "wall of shame" is a well known trouble maker. look up his history and see how many different coins he has done this to. Some people are just plain damaged, period.

Fair enough, could you explain this to me, or point me in the right direction where I can read up on it?

Edit: referring to this part obv: "All this has been explained to us and questions on the subject have been answered."

lol people selling will regret it when smart contracts are out this week

Classic price supression. First put a FUD story out. Then you put in a big sell and loads of tiny sells. Then what normally happens is the buy wall receives scared dumpers and the manipulator picks up cheap coins. It should give people confidence that someone is desperately trying to accumulate this coin cheap.

Cheap coins aren't that cheap after all. There isn't huge difference between 300 sat and 270 sat. Whoever is accumulating those coins will dump it sooner or later and move on. I hope that those people don't hold majority of the market and damage bay in short term. That's what sucks about crypto...majority of people don't have patience and try to get rich by making small profit rather than holding it and letting it grow organically.

If those people want to accumulate for long term they wouldn't try to suppress the price since there isn't much difference between high & low. It would be wasting time because it doesn't make a difference if you buy it at 300 or 270 if you're planning to hold it till the end and I'm pretty sure that's not the goal of the person who is trying to suppress the price.

As a long term investor I don't really care about these manipulators but it sucks to see these people trying to make small profit instead of helping a technology that'll quite possibly change everything for buyers/sellers.

Guys calm down, I'm 100% sure we will see a pump this week. Smart contracts will bring a lot of value to this coin.

Understand your desire for a profit but, we are not interested in a "pump"  We ARE interested in a slow, steady rise in value, utility, and user adoption. This is what make a successful coin, not pumps...

You know what comes after a pump?  Grin

Pump isn't a good thing. I would prefer to see it grow slowly and organically instead of numerous p&d

Big investors are waiting to see results. When promises start being delivered is when you will see the biggest jump in price. Those who invest early are taking the biggest risk. However, those who invest early if BitBay is a success will see the largest reward. Make no mistake, BitBay is being watched by many and if successful will be talked about for years to come. Good luck to all in this forum and to BitBay. You have my attention and I'll be watching.

If you take into account the last line in that snippet it says, basically, the percentage of interest will still apply but updates will not be as frequent. At least that's how I read it...

Hi Everyone

Just a friendly reminder, profanity, abusive language and unadultrated fud will be moderated. There are dedicated threads to conspiracy theories about Bay, plenty of opportunity to post there.

thanks -

Simple yet effective solution to the 51% issue. Nice to see progress so often!

Yes, it also invalidates the 'nothing at stake' criticism on PoS. Blackcoin already has this for a while now.

The way I understand it, it still keeps track of the reward you are due so you don't get ripped off. I would imagine if you wanted to test it out for sure, you could purposefully choose not to mint for say 120 days, and then see what the mint reward would be. You should get the full amount of reward anyway.

1. What is the development schedule? More specifically: When will the functions be in place described in the OP?

2. What makes Bitbay different from Openbazar? Adding smart contracts to it?

The first question was answered multiple times already times already in this thread. I just asked for someone to make an FAQ.

The second question is like this, Open bazaar is not decentralized markets. They are pseudo centralized.

Most importantly, OB relies on arbiters. Arbiters don't work. This is why E-Bay and alibaba constantly deal with fraud with shipping. Arbiters cannot help the situation. How do they know who is lying? The same is of course true for juries and law.

Double deposit escrow is superior to any arbitration system because its immune to collusion, bad judgement, and middle men.

Also, OB doesnt have smart contracts and they dont have all the other Halo features, the economy, etc.

BitBay, Halo etc are smart contracting systems with an entire economy within. There are tons of plans in store. Please look through the thread for my schedule and I'm going to ask the community to put together an FAQ

Lastly, I was asked about difference from BlackHalo and basically BlackCoin is centered around NightTrader, Multipool, upwards price pressure cold staking and smart contracts
Bitbay is most about hedging, markets (although BlackHalo also has), hardware, and exotic contracts.

Lots more is in store for both projects so just hang tight.
How is OB pseudo centralized?

Because they dont have decentralized servers. I highly doubt the IP address is well hidden. It uses DHT to distribute traffic about a store but that makes it highly localized and easy to get information about users so its not really decentralized.  If anything its a nice way to give markets an outlet. Like using a torrent to route some traffic. But in theory its nothing like the Halo Bitmessage proposal.

Using Bitmessage, its a highly advance system of using nodes to route encrypted traffic. Much more anonymous and is 100% decentralized.
