This is a bit funny:

https://hashtalk.org/topic/28541

Apparently you can buy any amount of XPY, or at least Paybase thinks so.

Isn't that alone another flag of a scam? Indefinite quantities? Never sold out etc.....

@redacted answered my question on premine sales on HT

"You can tell they are NOT the premine, since those coins sit in prime controllers, and those prime controller addresses are are known and shown on the richlist. Believe me, there would be lots out outcry if any of the coins in prime controllers started moving out of thier wallet addresses and showing up for sale on exchanges."

well then where are the 1000S of coins sold on paybase coming from???

one guy alone posted a buy from paybase of about 488,000 xpy

This again should be trivially simple. There has to be a true believer somewhere who bought a coin on paybase. Follow that coin back to where it was created. This coin isn't very old, it shouldn't be too hard.

It's likely it would trace to the premine, but that doesn't prove anything. It could be someone's HP conversion, or it could be GAW's own coins. If they wanted to do the right thing they could have signed all addresses that 12 million was split into so that we would know exactly which part belongs to HP conversions, investors, and as it turns out now - a test Prime Controller. Even that is not a proof of anything, because GAW could have as many HPs of their own as they want under any number of pseudonyms. But the fact that they didn't even do such a basic accountability step shows how messed up this thing is.

How many steps it takes to get to the premine would be useful information. Did it ever go to an exchange? How did it get out of the premine? I went looking once and it looked like they siphoned them off 1 million at a time. Any of them being mined in other blocks would lend some credibility to the claim that they're buying off the exchange.

That's what I don't get about the whole thing. Everything can be transparent. They can come up with excuses to not show everything (probably bullshit excuses, but excuses nonetheless) but that still doesn't explain why they don't show ANYTHING. It's possible to show with 100% confidence that it's legit (if it's legit) they show 0% and people buy it. Just doesn't make sense.

I think it's another flag for sloppy coding, no sanity tests. Think how ShapeShift works, they tell you the limit in advance and they have a clearly stated policy to return amounts exceeding that limit.

I wouldn't be surprised that if someone was dumb enough to send a large amount of BTC to the buying address at Paybase it would actually "buy" the coins and add them to the XPY balance on the site. Withdrawing it might be a problem though. Speaking of which, ZenCloud withdrawals don't seem to be working.

On the brighter side, CC purchases work again, Stripe, same address in TX.

At the begining of the week two people bought between them 150btc of paycoin through paybase not one of these trades went thru any exchange

So?

so josh said buys thru paybase would be from exchanges but there not so where are all these xpy coming from.

How do you know they are not coming from the exchanges?  They don't buy them in one block from one exchange per sale.  They mentioned that they have "enterprise" accounts with the exchanges, and my guess is that they round-robin them to keep the buying price low.  They keep the "spread" as profit.

They want to accept Paycoin on their market but they got to get them APIs working before they can.  Translation we will never accept paycoin on our market.

Not a true believer, just testing the CC to see who the processor was.

If you want to spend some time tracing it, here are two purchases I made:

TXN: 5c3c2efa1cd2abb0e384ed5ce15ef041903d992fe94d13531186f6185f93dfaf
Address: PVGy8a4Ai2jUFVnWg4sowxzKNM2LdpCwmr
Amt: 25.698324 XPY

TXN: a80127b3756b88c4f9e3fb594fd99d7f0c3f7d8598b3e42a2e2bf43404c4cb18
Address: PVGy8a4Ai2jUFVnWg4sowxzKNM2LdpCwmr
Amt: 27.090858 XPY

Important note, the second purchase I just made now. What was different from the first:

1) I was asked to confirm my address (which was prefilled)
2) I was asked to confirm my credit card (including CCV) was was all prefilled
3) I was asked to type in my phone number. I INTENTIALLY put in a bogus phone number
4) The transaction was processed (again with a 10% fee), but the XPY was deposited immediately to my account (no hour wait this time).
5) The charge on my CC appears as the same "ONLINE SAN FRANSCISCO", which I believe is Stripe (so looks like CoinFire might be correct, that they just changed the merchant account, but continue to use Stripe for purchases).

think I could convince a jury you knew of the scam and had all my post from day one removed so as members would not see them or question why cyberlizard said these things by law thats an act of cover up

Well... we are the Kanagroo court of jurors here... lay it out for us.  Don't be coy.

lay what out??

You are accusing daffy (aka wdl1908) of knowing about "the scam."  You then above in the quote said you could convince a jury of this... well... lay it out for us.

Where did Josh promise that? What was the exact wording?

The TOS (https://paybase.com/terms-of-use) say:
Quote
When buying or selling PayCoin through the Exchange Service, you are transacting with Paybase directly. Paybase does not act as an intermediary or marketplace between other buyers and sellers of PayCoins.
So they've got no legal obligation to buy those coins on exchanges.

And mostly, it would make no sense. They have enough premine coins to fulfill every order at zero cost. Why keep the spread as profit when they can just pocket the entire purchase price?

They have more coins than they could ever sell. Buying coins makes no sense unless it's to artificially prop up the price, and obviously they aren't doing that.

Really good point. And it will just inflate the market more and more.

And yet the morons on HT STILL do not get it:

https://hashtalk.org/topic/28518/calling-all-xpy-supporters/4

These infantile morons are lining up to max out their credit cards to buy into the insanely huge (and exponentially growing) supply of XPY that Josh & Co have available.

They have more money than sense. Good for them - if they can maintain a sustainable ratio between the two.
