Damn.... That idiot blew 100k in Dubai whilst "fleeing" (?) ... That's insane.... He charged $100k to a credit card. I bet the illiterate clod thinks credit card means free money. He plundered uncle Stu's Amex too. Probably used it to make payments on Elon's Tesla LOL. Lol.. I know, but still, that's a lotttta room service or something... I'm still pissed he got off so easy. I'm sure I'm not alone but that's how financial crimes go I guess... Steal 10 Million of funny internet money , get 18 months with good behavior. Steal 10 Million of real money, go to jail for the rest of your life. Fucking Christian assholes .... Fucking america is so lame like that....

I’m trying to wrap my head around wtf he was thinking by going there and blowing 100k in the 1st place. Maybe to have a ponzi team up with that Bitconnect crook at the Burj Khalifi joint or something?
So I was just thinking... Just for a shiggle, what’s-her-name could surprise Homero with a pair of Jesus sandals and orange jump suit for a Secret Santa Xmas gift....Oh now that would be cruel.

Actually horrified to read this. Read the whole thing, at first I thought the whole thing was written by a victim until I got to the end and it's signed by the lead prosecutor. Found it completely amateurish. Unconvincing and borderline hysterical. Did he leave it to a fucking first year intern to write up? Atrocious. No wonder the judge gave the bare minimum

I read it myself and admittedly it’s not in that convoluted legalese speak language (that uses like ten words where only one is required, etc) as I can actually understand wtf he is stating. I thought it summed it up ok anyway, but that’s just me and obviously IANAL. What was it you found unconvincing and borderline hysterical? Serious question as I’m just curious and you seem to be well versed in this sort of thing.

The whole tone of it was off for me. It should have been an authoritative instruction to the judge on what to do. Instead it reads like a narrative from this thread I was half expecting to see an OMG in there. OMG and he even rented this jet for x amount dollars. The whole thing reminded me of the childish banter between Uncle Stu's lawyer and the gawsuit lawyers at one stage. They were arguing back and forth in writing on some lame point, it just read "petty". And so did this. This should have had a more serious measured tone to it.

Seeing how Homero's cheesy "testimonials" impressed the judge it's hard to say if the tone of the prosecution's memorandum was wrong. Perhaps it was not cheesy enough. Should have included some pictures maybe. Some memes from this thread.

Assuming he really pays the victims back, I wonder when they will decide how it will be divvied up? There was some note that the method of repayment is not decided upon yet.
I am also wondering why we don't have a right as a victim to know his current business/businesses? I am not only curious, but I want to avoid doing business with him again. How would I truly avoid doing that if he is able to conduct business as normal. I posted a while back that a family friend was convicted of similar crimes and he was prohibited of EVER being a principal in a company for 10 years. I wonder why this was not the case or at least it appears it is not the case.
Does anyone have any ideas or methods to out this so called business of his?

I think in one of the court documents I saw something ridiculous like $1000 per month for restitution. If that's the case you'd be getting 10 cents a month, if that.

That’s better than my nicehash repayment schedule... Hah! they just plain deleted 6 months of my mining and refuse to admit it ever existed. And like an idiot I had deleted all the previous years of logs a few months earlier that was getting large (OCD drive maintenance), fuck them.

Yeah but you have to hand it to those guys for pulling off the most sophisticated scam ever in the crypto theater. They basically shorted bitcoin when it was at $20K. "Oh sorry folks... bad news, we just got hacked for 4000 bitcoin. (or wtf it was)... But the good news is, because we are so honest, we intend to pay yawl back all the lost bitcoins." And they are indeed. Well sort of.. They (or whoever was in cahoots with em) "borrowed" it at $20K/btc but are paying it back (at some paltry monthly rate) at $6.5K/btc...That's a good short position right there I'll say. AND they are still operating their mining racket... (...and I'm still mining dust there...fucking brilliant...I know.... I'm an idiot, but I just can't let it go) ...sorry for ot

Oh well jailed and will be out in time for the next halving, even getting f##ked up the arse he will probably see many millions when BTC has a bull run in 2020 due to the next halving. There is no doubt in my mind he has a private key to many bitcoins on a cold wallet.

(...only how to break it, yo.) https://blockonomi.com/joshua-garza-jailed/#NeuterGarzas Garza explained in a phone interview that GAW began because of scammers. When he first heard about bitcoin, Garza was intrigued by the technology and spent $100,000 on a mining rig he never received. Though he refused to say which company he had purchased from, the situation led to much frustration and he decided to start a company to try and fix things. He says that GAW Miners made over $1 million in its first month, and that the company had over 100,000 customers at one time, with roughly 10,000 to 15,000 new accounts being added each day. Yeah, right. .... If that's the case you'd be getting 10 cents a month, if that.

The only problem is a typical repayment only lasts 20 years. I didn't see where that was spelled out. The cool thing is if he ever wins the lottery we will too!
