I wonder what the likelihood is he just won't show up to his sentencing?  Has there been any bail placed on him or some sort of ankle monitoring? I wasn't sure how the Feds usually handle people like this.  Seems he would be a great candidate to flee to a non extraditionary country.  Of course most of those are pretty unpleasant places.

If he has any money left it's probably better for him to just serve the sentence and hope for a chance to spend it. It wasn't a huge move-to-another-country-and-live-carefree-for-the-rest-of-your-life kind of amount to begin with, and we know he's not a thrifty person.

On the other hand, he's also not a smart person, so I do hope he tries to leg it and gets cuffed at an airport... make my day Homero!

Long time ago (~1990s) I was doing some odd IT freelancing and helped someone to set up a color inkjet printer - big deal back then. A few days later that person was on the evening news in handcuffs - picked up for printing fiat (not sure if US dollars but likely) on that printer.
