Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I'm confused, what does the Chinese new year have to do with the apparently European Ambercoin dev? Am I missing something?

Just some reading for quiet times.
NASDAQ working with blockchain:
http://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/nasdaqs-blockchain-technology-to-transform-the-republic-of-estonias-eresidency-shareholder-20160212-00058
Google:"Nasdaq Linq" too.

Financial Times about DTCC saying that blockchain is not cheapest way for settling securities and the old way works well and is secure (FT requires free registration):
http://ftalphaville.ft.com/2016/01/25/2151056/dtcc-cuts-through-the-blockchain-hype/
and then voting comes to arena... Smiley

@ today's startup age all these "startups" may be up to the thousand times overrated, overpriced. Everyone needs some amber and gold for security. And surely one non-patented, non-expiring and non-licensed wooden stool to sit and think  Grin

A new whitepaper for 2016 would be welcome (regarding Ambercoin and the company).

All reinvested shares have been transferred to the shareholders.
Total amount sent - 534,798 Amber.

I didnt check this thread since a long time and to come back and see that instead of paying people with $ you paid them with ambers.

This is a pure ponzi  and now its confirmed.

12$ for holding 12k amber? So 48 $ a year? 1 amber sold by them directly for 25k sat?

And thats legit to you? lol

Lets say you buy amber from the market which is 5k sat. to buy 10k amber its about .5 BTC which is like 200 USD

So your full return on invest on the market price would be in 4 year , and with their prices it will be in 20 years just to break even. Look legit once again

Everything around is ponzi if you look in the depths. One must just live with jackals around. I have read anything about AmberCoin and made everything simple for me (fees may apply if you read further):

AMBERs are company shares, long time investment.
DEURs and MIs (for example) are cryptocurrencies, short time investment.
So:
fast daytrading(BTC/DEUR/BTC, BTC/MI/BTC, BTC/ETH/BTC) =>
profit =>
split-BTC(45% AMBER, 45% booze, 10% back to daytrading) =>
happiness and stable (additional) income for years (called dividends)

Except q1 and q2 actually paid more than the yearly figure you extrapolated, weird. You are either shitty at math, or just a tad bit dishonest. Either way, feel free to make your next extended break permanent.

That's when they where still Selling their Instamined coins in large volume now that's over.
Lets see what happens in 2 months more excuses or actually paying what they advertise with.

I don't see any future on this coin anymore. I have just sold my 3k+ AMBER yesterday for bitcoin.

I used to think that the coin have a great future, due to they pay the dividends on time previously, and the price goes up steadily. However with the previous dividend paid in AMBER, plus all the scam signs of this, I decided to retire on it.

Goodbye Ambercoin!

If you werent blinded enough you would understand the big pays in the begining is a way to attract people into this. This is a pure ponzi getting near it's end.
