101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't Know, But Can i Invest In Bitcoin? on: January 04, 2024, 01:52:38 PM
Bitcoin is indeed a profitable investment. However, if you just want to invest because other people are telling you to do so or you just want to be in profits like them, then don’t invest at the moment. You still have a lot of questions and hesitations in your mind that only you can answer once you have acquired knowledge in the crypto market. For now, understand your planned investment first and try to evaluate yourself if you are really prepared to invest and lose in the process. Because if not, I suggest learn first from the experiences of other people, that way you can ask yourself if you still want to take the risk or you just want to play safe and decide not to get out from your comfort zone.

Anyone that has a sufficient capital to invest is allow to invest, but never expect that you will get immediate profits because its certainly losses that newbies mostly incur the first time they invest.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The is always on gambling, never the individual. on: January 03, 2024, 11:45:38 PM
Those are the people who decide to enter gambling when they don’t actually know and understand the risk in gambling, and all they think is that they could get rich instantly if they keep on gambling. When they suffer from consistent losses, they will come to blame the casinos or worst, they will end up blaming those persons who introduced them into gambling.

People with this kind of attitude mostly end up into gambling addiction, once they refuse to seek help from the people around.
103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some tips to help protect yourself from crypto scam on: January 03, 2024, 09:54:31 PM
There are different ways we can establish that would help us and prevent us from falling victim to crypto scammers.
Op had listed some of the ways we can employ that would make us stay safe from scammers and this could help us a lot for a long time. It is known that many scammers are always looking for ways to make sure they employ to make their victims vulnerable to them so that they can steal and rib them of their properties. A lots of things would need to be put into consideration for us to stay safe.
I guess the best way to stay off from crypto crypto scammers is to stay educated and be more updated on how the current pattern of scamming are done. With this, you are one step an edge from them since you're aware already on how they will attack their victims. Once you see it's happening on you, then get rid of that person either by blocking him or avoid that person so that he can never have an access to you, and worst he can never have an access to your wallet.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 02, 2024, 11:58:53 PM
Some gamblers tend to be emotional and get easily affected with what other people will say, while some tend to ignore about the negative comments about their gambling activities, since it’s their money after all that they are spending. And for me, I think I belong to those people who never care about the impression of other people.

I gamble for my own pleasure and satisfaction, probably to make additional profits as well. But if those people around me will criticize me negatively, well that’s also their right and I’ve no in control with that. But as long as I’m not asking money from other people to gamble, then I have also my right to enjoy my life with the personal money that I have. As long as I don’t resort into making crime just to satisfy my gambling urge, then I don’t owe them explaining my side.
105  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin - Contentment / Addiction on: January 02, 2024, 09:11:36 PM
Man has no contentment in nature. Most particularly when it involves with money, the more a person will keep its motivation to keep going. Frankly speaking, it’s better to get addicted with bitcoin investment rather than seeing yourself addicted with gambling. At least if you are addicted to bitcoin, you will always find means to invest in bitcoin, even if it means losing at first.

However, over addiction is also not a good thing as it may bring mental and emotional damage in you. Just invest on the amount you can afford to lose, if you lose that would be okay, just invest gain when you gain spare money to invest.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The frustrations in loosing a huge bet when your winning was so assured. on: December 30, 2023, 08:24:23 PM
To those who considers making profits a priority in gambling, I have come to observe that it is much more frustrating when you looses your game at when the game was almost over and you were on the safer side (winning) and just a few minute or seconds before the game is over it ended up at your lost.
I come to understand that it is more worrisome when the sure winning opportunities was so huge and got lost lately closed to the end time of the game.
Gambling does not secure higher probability of winning, but its mostly losing a lot especially if you have gone out believing that you'll definitely end up with profits. It offers high amount of uncertainties more than its certainty so you cannot totally say that you are supposed to win because you've seen it coming. Most of the time, what you see at the start of the game do not last and with just a blink of an eye, the game scenario changes more than you know it. So never expect to win while most of the gamblers are actually in the verge of losing.

Once you gamble, you are already at a loss since you already put your money prior to betting and once its lose, its all lose and no chance of recovering.
107  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safety first before accumulation, a lesson I learnt the hard way on: December 30, 2023, 07:18:59 PM
Security should have the highest concern over others. Without setting up security, all your accumulated bitcoin will be gone into waste knowing you never care putting them in a hardware wallet that is not susceptible from online hackers. Or even if you put them at a reliable wallet but you forget to secure the safety of your private keys, your stored bitcoins will still stay unsafe 24/7. Security should be present both in your hardware wallet and in your private keys, if you fail one of them, you cannot say that your bitcoins are 100% safe and untouchable.

Don't wait to fall as a victim first before you decide to put high security on your coins. Do not compromise the safety of your coins just because having a hardware wallet might be expensive. Before you decide to spend money on your coins, secure first your hardware wallet.
108  Economy / Reputation / Re: My 10 Year ( and some days) Bitcointalk Anniversary on: December 30, 2023, 02:00:18 PM
10 years in this forum and still active, you are truly amazing, I congratulate you on your consistency.

I can't believe I've been on this forum for more than 5 years (half of the years you've managed to live) I will never want to leave this forum (I see quite a lot of accounts that are no longer active), this forum has changed my life 180%, I'm not sure what I would have done if I didn't know about this forum.
Many people think that those who stay on this forum only target money, I think that's wrong, see you in the next 10 years (since you created this topic) I'm sure there will be many other surprises that appear on Bitcoin and also this beloved forum.
You wouldn’t be here for 10 years long if it’s only about money, I believe the passion to learn from the forum serves the highest motivation to keep you going in the forum. Congratulations OP, your contributions in the forum mean a lot to us and you were never selfish not to share your knowledge and gained experiences. A lot probably have been eyeing on you and learned from you. I hope to see you in the next 10 years if possible, as I also find motivation from you and other legendary members who have the courage and persistency to keep going.

10 years is not easy but you did it. And I thank you for encouraging everyone to find safe haven with bitcointalk.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not everyone deserves to hear of your winning in gambling. on: December 30, 2023, 12:56:26 PM
I guess what you are trying to say is to control their mouth shut and just keep their success story on their own. Well, you can’t control others from doing that just because there might be some people who will be offended or get influenced. Gamblers are gamblers, if they can’t stand their losses due to their greed and their deep urge to gamble more, then they shouldn’t enter gambling in the first place. One gambler should not adjust to the comfort of other gambler. It should be known that once you decide to enter gambling, you should be responsible enough to manage your losses as well as your winnings. If you can’t do that, then leave gambling for good.

Every success story is sometimes need to be told especially if that person finds fulfillment in sharing. If you think his success story affects you, just pretend that you’re never there hearing his story so you won’t feel totally bad.
110  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Thanks To All forum members on: December 29, 2023, 10:28:18 PM
Don't forget to pass it forward whenever you can. This is what this community is all about, the knowledge that we've learned from the seniors can be passed on when there's an opportunity that we can see.

If there will be new newbies that will come here and will ask questions that we know. We can always help them in the best that we can. Just as you, everyone has to start somewhere and you have to enjoy it all along.

Now I'm more confident to do my own research and share new information here. Big thanks to everyone.
Good luck and I hope that joy won't fade away as you stay here.
I guess that's the real essence being part of this forum. You don't only need to grow all by yourself but you grow along with other forum members. That is because we are here to help one another, and not take advantage over the other. I'm also thankful having part of this forum, without this one, I may not be able to extend my knowledge about bitcoin and the cryptocurrency, and may not be able to develop experiences in the crypto market.

We really have a lot to be grateful for. First, we have a very convenient and harmonious forum, and second, we have these trustworthy members whom we can seek for advices whenever our investment don't go as planned.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's Your Feeling After You Finish Gambling. on: December 29, 2023, 08:44:42 PM
Gambling whether you play it online or offline is a mental game there are a lot of mixed emotions going on while you play
Excited when you're winning, anxious when you're chasing your losses, ecstatic when you won a big amount but have anxiety about cashing out.

It's a roller coaster ride when we are playing in casinos whether online or offline that is why we always come back to gamble because we feel alive and we have mixed emotions.

But after finishing the game what's your overall feeling how did you overcome this feeling and how many hours or days did it last?

Be honest with yourself and vote on the poll on What's Your Feeling After You Finish Gambling?
Gambling is always unpredictable, sometimes you win but most of the time you lose, but behind this reality, I still find time to enjoy gambling because I never gamble for big profits but even small profits will do, what's important is I got to play on my favorite games and end up happy and satisfied. However, if you gamble merely to earn a living, I guess satisfaction won't actually meet more often. Because I believe, the moment you gamble you lose already, and it takes luck and skills for you to recover that initial loss and end up gambling in profits.
112  Other / Meta / Re: Why do some campaign members posting essay? on: December 29, 2023, 04:39:57 PM
Sorry about the title. While reading some posts, I noticed that some campaign participants seem to be posting essays. Have you noticed the same, or is it just me? If you also notice this, do you think it's healthy for the forum?
Most likely, their mindset might be if they create lengthy post, that will automatically earn merit because of the various insights included in their post. But in reality, it will only confuse the reader and might discourage some readers from reading it due to the fact that its so tiring to read. That's why I don't see positive effect on members having that posting habit. It's still better to create a short but precise post, rather than to create confusion and tiring effect on part of the readers.

However, this is also case to case basis. If the topic requires a detailed post and would mean elaborating all the significant details, then posting like an essay may be an advantage. But still, only few of the members would likely to respond to that certain thread.
113  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You only got what you deserve on: December 28, 2023, 09:59:32 PM
Profits and losses are simply the reflection of how its investor or trader perform its task. If one is done with high caution and mastery in the market, most likely we will see positive results, but if it's done with greed and impatience in the market, the result will be likely negative. So we only got what we deserve. Not just in trading or investing, but mostly in life's aspects, if not done with perfection, we cannot anticipate perfect outcome as well.

Trade and invest with knowledge and required skills. That way, if ever you lose, that will be temporary because sooner as you learn your lessons, the probability to succeed also increases and become more visible.
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Replacement for a College Savings Plan on: December 28, 2023, 09:22:54 PM
At this rate, I am seeing that now most corporate companies plan to remove the college degree requirement for jobs, which will transform the college education long term, and its looking like it won't even be needed unless you're going to be a PhD or a Lawyer etc etc.

The traditional mutual fund / 529 plan isn't really needed anymore if college isn't going to be a requirement, but now I am more so just thinking of a life savings plan is a much better and more flexible option. Maybe just set them each up a wallet and load x amount each making quarterly contributions. By the time they are old enough surely they would have more money in that account anyways compared to the mutual fund, right?

You can always invest in bitcoin as much as you want provided that you know the risk that is attached to bitcoin investing, but I have this hesitation if college degree will be definitely removed as a basic requirement when applying for a job. I guess that remains an illusion, as there's no way that college degree will not be relevant anymore. Although I have this realization that skills and experience are much needed for a company to hire you more than your educational attainment. But we should also learn to consider that critical thinking and problem solving solutions are mostly developed having a college degree, that's why it's still essential for companies to require college degree holders.

However, I have no against with bitcoin savings, but I still think that traditional mutual fund will not be easily replaced or eradicate. But you can chose to save in both without compromising one another.
115  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk vs. YouTube from an educational viewpoint on: December 28, 2023, 02:40:28 PM
No one should choose between Bitcointalk or Youtub eto learn about crypto, everyone can learn from both, and many more other places. Not everyone like to learn by reading, other might prefer videos for learning, and that's when Youtube come along. While Bitcointalk give more space for more social interaction between crypto enthusiast with more deep discussion. You don't need to compare it or eliminate one for the other just use both.
Yes, both are providing us relevant information when it comes to crypto. You can chose to watch interesting crypto videos from youtube or you can simply read legit posts from bitcointalk which are mostly derived from their personal crypto experiences.

However, one should learn to filter some of the information given from youtube since majority of the youtubers only create hype and fuds just to attract viewers. But there are also few crypto influencers who have genuine intention to educate its viewers through providing legit and high quality information. The challenge here is to identify legit information from those unrelliable and illicit ones.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 28, 2023, 08:50:50 AM
Gambling is a game of luck and chance. However, if you also play some games without knowing how to play them well, that will certainly add to your chances of losing. No one is advised to play without knowledge and experience on the game you wish to gamble, as much as you won't find any fun if you also don't know the gamble you are playing. Unless if you just want to lose all your money that time when you gamble, so you don't need to be knowledgeable in the first place.

Ignorance and lack of experience always contribute negativity on whatever you attempt to do. Even in gambling, you are encouraged to play on the game that interest you and you have particular background, otherwise you cannot expect to profit on the games you don't know either.
117  Economy / Reputation / Re: A clear change in the posting pattern. on: December 27, 2023, 10:31:13 PM
For those who want to check the posting pattern, it is on page 54 (as of posting).

I checked it and there seems to be a change in how it is posting and after 5 years, there should be at least a coming back statement or something. That's just how I view it if you are an active member of the forum or something. Idk. Probably hacked or sold?

I'm not sure if this can be proven or not though.
I guess this account is most likely sold to another member. You can't just post something that you don't know about and it's quite lengthy to be exact, so most probably this new user is actually a good poster in the forum as well. Well, that's just also my speculation, once investigated by the forum admin, that would be the time that we will know the truth.

But whatever it is, as long as the change is for the better, then that won't have any problem.
118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is merit necessary for my survival here on: December 27, 2023, 08:49:28 PM
Greetings everyone!

I really want to know if merit is necessary in other to secure my account, my friend who introduced this site to me said, I must have merit

Please how do I get this merit and how is it important.

Don't forget that you are not here to eran merits but to learn and be more knowledgeable about bitcoin and all the stuffs in the crypto market. But if you aim to increase your position level, then might as well consider earning merits because so you will be able to join signature campaigns in the future. While getting merits is actually hard for beginners, but it will become easier once you completely understand the market and make high quality posts that would make other members to appreciate and put some merits into your post.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 27, 2023, 07:59:08 PM
Gambling is actually for fun, but it will be more fun if we also take profits on the side. That's why we also gamble not just for fun but we also do it to earn and income. Unfortunately, not all are given opportunities to win as a lot are only losing while they are trying to follow their urge in gambling. Once your losses outnumbered your profits, obviously it's not fun anymore, but still people even gamble more to recover their losses. Some might be lucky to make a big win in the end, while others continue to lose until they used up all their funds and regret why they enter gambling in the first place.
120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 26, 2023, 09:44:29 PM
Sometimes, what you see is not what you get. You can never judge a person just by mere seeing his physical looks. You can't criticize him  being mentally unstable just because he wears dirty and stinky clothes. Except if he does crime or illicit activities near or inside the betting shop, then he should be banned and not allowed to bet.

Everyone is free to gamble and chose their desired bets regardless of his physical or mental condition. As long as he knows how to control it and is able to gamble without breaking the rules, then he should be welcome to gamble.
