621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You are still very early on: May 15, 2023, 09:13:23 PM
To be fair most of people are looking to get rich quick by flipping their coin, that's why they're prefer to gamble on shitcoins rather than looking for the safest long term investment e.g. Bitcoin. There's always a person who can make money through shitcoins, but it's just like picking a needle in the haystacks, the chance is very low. They're also uneducated, that's why they don't have any reason to invest in Bitcoin except for making money.

Working in real life and convert to Bitcoin is better than gambling in shitcoins.
That’s the sad reality why most people refuse to invest in bitcoin because it’s highly volatile but easily jump into shitcoins hoping they can get rich overnight. Yes, some have experienced that but that does not mean that the rest will have the same fate with them. Gone are the days where shitcoins and meme coins are highly profitable in the market, now a lot of them have end up as dead coins. But if they will start to trust bitcoin, it won’t be a get rich quick but rest assured that their investment won’t end as zero value as long as they’ll invest for long term.
622  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: May 15, 2023, 08:44:22 PM
Luck can play a role in success, it may present opportunities but it depends on the individuals to take advantage of them through their own efforts and persistence. But luck alone is not enough to guarantee success. Hard work, perseverance and other factors can also play significant role to attain success. Ultimately success is a combination of luck and effort. Success can be defined in many different ways and what may be considered lucky or successful for one person may not be the same for another.
Success can never happen when there’s no luck and efforts put together. Luck alone is not sustainable, much more on efforts as everything should be work out so that a desired goal will be reached. That’s why in order to be successful in life, one must attract luck and efforts altogether. You must be lucky and optimistic to see life’s opportunities, and then take advantage of them while opportunities are still within your control.
623  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you Spending Money the Wrong Way in Pursuit of Happiness? on: May 14, 2023, 09:33:35 PM
Nice job ops, these are all good ways to spend money to gain satisfaction, and one of the interesting points mentioned is the one that says, to spend money to make others happy.

That is indeed true because true happiness comes from the happiness of others around you, so instead of concentrating on the self, it's better to invest that energy into seeing the fulfillment and happiness of others, But financial experts and economists will say otherwise that greed brings wrong increase anyways.
True happiness is never selfish and it will only make you more greedy keeping your happiness into yourself. However, if you start considering the feelings of others, spending money so you can see other people’s happiness especially for unfortunate ones, I think that one is way more satisfying and a very noble act. But I believe only few people spend for others, as most of us here spend only for our own happiness and own advantage.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio WBO 118lbs Title (May 13) on: May 12, 2023, 07:05:07 PM
On the contrary, it was Moloney who says that Vincent and his team thought that he is an easier fight for Astrolabio, as compare to Emmanuel Rodriguez and that's why they go that route.

Rodriguez beat Moloney before, and this according to Jason could be the reason why Vincent Astrolabio and his camp chooses him instead of Rodriguez. But in any case, Moloney is the slight favorite so it's not a easier fight for Vincent here. This fight is going to happen this weekend, so another good one store for us and we will see a new champion after this fight.

Well, these two certainly got their own reasons why they agreed on this fight because I don't really think that Moloney himself didn't see something from Astrolabio that he think he can take advantage and make his chances stronger. They can point their fingers as long as they want but the fact will not change, both of them will have to prove their existence in the industry and fight for the belt they wanted.

Didn't notice that this fight is so near already, hope you guys already placed your bets. Cheesy
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 11, 2023, 08:05:30 PM
The Warriors won by 15 points. That was awesome, and now the series is 3-2. They will still be on the edge in every game, but they have a chance to win the series, especially if they win on the road, which is difficult.

Green and Wiggins made great contributions, but Thompson hasn't found his rhythm yet after having a great Game 2 performance.

The top performers for the Warriors were:

Curry: 27 points
Wiggins: 25 points
Green: 20 points
Yes, and it might be scary because we might see Game 6 Klay at Crypto.com? And I think it's the contribution of Green who really covered what the Warriors is missing on Thompson right now. Although there are reports that AD might not play in Game 6 because of concussions, but I think he will though, he just need to take a rest.

Now the Warriors won on a must win at home, can they do a must win in the road or as the predictions of 6 games for the Lakers will happen next game? Lakers now, opening at -1.5 at home as favorite.

This is really tough for the bettors as Davis might be resting or in a questionable status, if you are aiming for Lakers here, that odd
is something that you might need to re-evaluate as the chance for Davis' absence might give the Warriors a decent chance of winning the game.

If Warriors will duplicate their defense and if after this bad night for Klay, he will bounce back and add that long range threat for the Warriors.

Let's wait for the update or maybe it's good to bet during the live events and enjoy watching the game.

To bad for Lakers if Davis is out on next game since for sure Warriors can dominate them if he is out of the picture. But knowing how competitive they are since they are been hype with their current rooster maybe they will find ways to insert Davis in the rotation but in minimal minutes since for sure they are rotting to win. They know how competitive the warriors are and they will not let this series stretch until game 7 since they might be in huge trouble if Warriors win on game 6.

The Lakers will struggle so much if Anthony Davis cannot play next game and then LeBron James will be forced to replace his position as the center which means he need to leave his current position where he can chase down anybody and do where he excel the most. But I don't think that AD cannot play because of what happened and he certainly know that the team needed him this time more than ever, they don't want in the position where the Warriors have the advantage. This is now or never for them.
626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: May 11, 2023, 07:38:13 PM
Check out the press conference, starts in 10 minutes (19:00 GMT).

Should be really entertaining, these two aren’t going to be nice and respectful to each other are they Cheesy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NeF8Py464g
Jake really doesn't respect Nate, he mentions that Nate is only looking to make money at their fight (Jake is being so childish)

moreover, it really doesn't make sense hearing how jake paul talked about McGregor not supporting him, MacGregor has the right to support anyone even though Nate once beat McGregor Cheesy

Jake Paul is really over his head at this point, he's just saying nonsense but behind the scenes, he was just so embarrassed after what happened last time where he was defeated by a regular boxer, a true boxer compared to him who's just a mere boxer meant to stop the MMA wanna be boxers and nothing else. And it's not just Nate Diaz who is looking for a payday, even Jake Paul himself is guilty as charge even though he won't admit it. If not, why would he making these pro-box that looks like an exhibition fight.
627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 11, 2023, 05:05:51 PM
2/3.
I didn't expect that win from the New York Knicks but they have to sacrifice playing Jalen Brunson and Quentin Grimes at full length without any rest, 48 minutes. I bet Brunson's body is all bruised after that game.  Grin But I wish he will be okay for Game 6, the Knicks will have a hard time winning without him.

Hopefully that is the case because they badly needed all the help they can get as just one single injury in the roster right now will definitely put them in a very dangerous situation because the undermanned Miami Heat can still put a mark towards them and eliminate them in any given game especially now that the Heat just needed one win to close the series.

Quote
Golden State Warriors did not let us down and I think most of us did bet for them so congratulations to the winners.
Draymond Green made a spark in the first quarter by being aggressive on the offensive end and Andrew Wiggins joined him with 16 points in the first half. This is the kind of Warriors that I want to see, do not put all the weight on Steph's shoulders, they must work too. I think Looney is also feeling better with 20 minutes of ball time.

Quite loving what I saw in Game 5 where the Warriors are definitely displaying their offensive prowess except for KT because I do think he's having a hard time keeping up with the team's phase but overall, the Warriors did good in defeating the visiting Lakers. Hopefully they can mimic their performance by putting some pressures towards the Lakers next game.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 13) on: May 11, 2023, 04:44:26 PM

^^ Odds for the fight are out and more options to bet.

For me, if you are a high roller and confident enough that Casimero would win this fight, that ML odds of @1.31 is very attractive, just like Drake (if i'm not wrong) betting 1M usd for Davis and won 375k in return, easy money isn't it?

Did he? Wow, that's a crazy bet again coming from the one and only Drake! Grin

This time he's fortunate enough and won a 375k profit from betting $1M because the last time, his bet for Jake Paul to knockout Tommy Fury did lost and that's worth a staggering $400k.

Anyway, back to the main topic, I can see that Casimero is indeed favored by the bookies and listing him @ 1.31 is decent enough but not for me because that's quite low. Decision @ 5.40 is juicy and I'll throw some few bucks towards him as a sign of support to our very own Filipino boxer.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 10, 2023, 08:09:15 PM
We may get 2 conference finalists tonight as a couple of 3 win teams are playing tonight. The Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat both have the chance to advance tonight and neither are must win games for them. The Knicks and Warriors both have their backs against the wall as their next loss will be their last game of the season. I’ll be watching TNT tonight!

This will be an interesting night for the most of us and I know that there are a lot of people who are rooting for the favorites to win their respective games especially the Warriors later, and I know as well that these team's chances are somewhat good enough to force another game but I don't think that both Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers will just easily agree because if they can finish the whole series, they will.
630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio WBO 118lbs Title (May 13) on: May 10, 2023, 06:18:26 AM
Although I'm not very familiar with these boxers, I believe that they have almost equal skills based on the betting odds. The name Moloney rings a bell for me because he was supposed to fight Donaire, but he backed out and chose another opponent instead.
I think Moloney is afraid of Donaire. He was probably looking for an easier way to become a champion, and maybe he thinks that Astrolabio is not as good as Donaire. I'm also interested in watching this fight, which will be in less than a week. Hopefully, someone here will share a free live streaming link.

After losing to Inoue I don't think he is ready to face Donaire who although also lose his match against Inoue is still dangerous, so he goes the easy way by fighting the unpopular but dangerous Astrolabio who can perform better than Donaire because he is coming from winning streak, I'd like to see their face off and weigh in, which is going to happen next week.
There's a big possibility that the 118 lbs will have two champions because this is a known territory of the Filipinos after Inoue conquer all the titles.

Yes, bantamweight has been a comfortable division for the most Filipino boxers except Manny Pacquiao as he managed to go up as far as welterweight division, and still brought his speed and power with him. John Riel Casimero came from this weight class too but it's just that his weight is not suitable anymore to stay, he could've been one of the title chaser if he's still at 118.

Back to the fight, this is okay because Moloney thinks he can conquer this belt easily just because Vincent Astrolabio is not that known and doesn't have good names in his record. But just like what the poll here suggests, Astrolabio got a good chance to win and we might see another upset made by a Filipino boxer.
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: May 10, 2023, 05:40:20 AM
Like I said in my previous comment, the only way to make money consistently from gambling is to own the casino, if you are the owner of the casino, trust that you can even make over $5,000 in profit every day, depending on how popular the casino is and how many users play there daily.

Outside owning a casino, it is completely and absolutely not possible to consistent $20 profit every day from gambling, not to talk of $100, there is the possibility that one could even end up loosing $10,000 in the process of trying to win $100..
Yep, that's pretty much it and $10,000 is still not a huge amount, people lose even more when they become crazy after losing a little bit. Human nature is so strange at times, when one loses $100, they then spend $2,000 only trying to recover that $100, and during that process they don't even realize that it's costing them even more this way.

And that's not it, when one wins $100, greed hits their mind really hard, and they start thinking, "I can pretty easily turn this into $200.", and when they start playing again with that thing in mind, the rest remains history.

Aside from greed, dopamine will be released from your brain which explains the euphoric feeling after winning a certain bet and makes you even bet more as you already feel lucky, and that is normal because that is a positive effect that you can only feel when gambling and winning at the same time. But if it's the opposite, you'll feel anxiety and depression as that will be your feeling if you lost a bet especially the big ones.

I agree with you on that statement except the $10,000 part where you say it's not that huge enough. I mean, sure for big time gamblers (like millionaires) and other gamblers who see themselves as a professional gambler, that amount is still manageable because their wins are far more greater than their losses.
632  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's nice to be back here. on: May 10, 2023, 04:16:45 AM
I just realized how risky cryptocurrency is, especially for those people who have not yet have good knowledge about it, I've learned from my mistakes last year and j am now here exploring again and will be careful this time.
sadly a lot of people who are new to cryptocurrency make this mistake, they dive into crypto thinking that it's an easy way to gain profit because of all the success stories they saw online. I hope this time you make your due diligence to know what you are getting into before doing anything especially if it involves money.
It’s okay to commit mistakes and lose your money since investing does not guarantee profitability at all times, sometimes you have to fail first so you will learn your lesson. The important thing here is you will not repeat the same mistakes again so you can avoid consistent losses this time, and never be greedy hoping that crypto investment will make you rich instantly. You have to exert knowledge and effort in your investment so that you can expect to prosper and create big changes in your life that is life changing.
633  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: May 09, 2023, 09:59:18 PM
As a young person, I am overwhelmed by my curiosity in trading Bitcoin, but I'm not sure if it is appropriate for me to resign my white collar work and return to trading exclusively Bitcoin.

This was a conversation a buddy of mine and I had yesterday, and I felt compelled to bring it to this illustrious platform for the best types of advice and counsel.

Is it safe for a Bitcoin trader to quit their jobs and focus solely on Bitcoin trading if they can devote their time and attention to maximize the benefits in the Bitcoin world?
You are actually seeing the idea based on how greedy most beginner traders are. Though I also understand that you just want to take advantage while trading is highly profitable but you should bear in mind that there are actually higher risk of losing if you trade when you don’t have stable finances in the first place. I mean, if you don’t have a stable job to rely on and just depend on trading for your main income, then it will make you put more emotions in trading and trading with emotions involved will only serve as a distraction in trading, and that will only make you lose than to earn and make profits. So my advice is just keep your job, and continue trading so you can honed your skills more and develop more working strategies that will help you become highly profitable in the future if ever you decide to focus your time in trading.
634  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Importance of entrepreneur in school curriculum on: May 09, 2023, 09:29:35 PM
It's true that many college graduates think that after they graduate they will work in various companies, many think like that it will cause intense competition in finding work, people who "lose" in this competition will be unemployed for an uncertain time, therefore the thought of starting a business is a lesson that should be taught from a young age
That is one way preparing for the kids to face their future life’s battles especially if they live in a country where connections could play a vital role for them to get employed. So if they don’t have connections, might as well they will stay unemployed for a certain period of time. And maybe having this idea on entrepreneurship could motivate them to start their own business so they can build a passive income even if they don’t have stable jobs that will support them. But of course, it’s crucial that they should know their business well so that their money and efforts will never put into a waste.
635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Awareness: Bitcoin logos on T-Shirts on: May 09, 2023, 08:53:03 PM
One of the influencer in my country has started the business of selling the shirts with bitcoin logo on it. This will not only help him get some business but at the same time, it is a step towards the crypto awareness.

Keep in mind that we live in a country where we are not allowed to buy and sell through bitcoin. Therefore he is selling the shirts in the fiat currency however all the shirts have Bitcoin logo over it. This is the maximum he can do to promote bitcoin. I hope when some day bitcoin may become a legal tender here also, then he can do the transactions in Bitcoin.

Link of the store is
https://store.ilmeaalim.com/en/
He has a unique way of promoting bitcoin for public awareness, and besides he’s also earning profits as well, so it’s a 2 in 1 business. This will certainly pave its way for more people to get attracted and interested with bitcoin, and it’s now the people’s initiative on how to lengthen their understanding with bitcoin through doing their own diligence in researching. However, while some crypto advocates will appreciate this, but I’m also sure that this will trigger those anti-bitcoin banks and governments, especially if you are living in a country where the government is banning the existence of bitcoin.
636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: tips for profitable investment in bitcoin on: May 09, 2023, 08:16:58 PM
These two tips will probably help for newbies
- Seek professional advice. If you are new to Bitcoin or investing in general, it may be helpful to seek advice from a financial advisor or investment professional who can help you make informed decisions based on your individual financial situation and goals.
- Set realistic expectations. Bitcoin can be a highly profitable asset, but it is important to set realistic expectations about returns on investment.
You’re always at its edge if you come to invest in the market by seeking professional advice at first. Know that those who stay in the market for long have certainly gained a lot of knowledge and experience so if you can ask a professional investor to educate and guide you in the first place, that will be a big help for you so you will lessen the risk of losing and increase your chances to become a successful investor. And never fall from the hype with bitcoin investment. Bitcoin is clearly more profitable than any other market investments, but never set your expectations too high as bitcoin is also capable to let you experience life changing losses especially if you only invest because of high greed.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 08, 2023, 09:59:12 PM
A friend suggested Bitcoin to me about 1 year ago. I have been trying to learn the history of Bitcoin ever since. How to earn from Bitcoin, I learned that investing will make profit or loss. Success can never be achieved without risk. Then I became interested in investing in Bitcoin. My family is a very poor family. I am studying now and earning BDT 7000 per month from tuition, BDT 3000 I spend on running my household. BDT 3000 is my monthly expenses and I save BDT 1000, I save around BDT 10000 in a year and invest in Bitcoin. I will hold the investment for a long time. According to many researchers, we will soon see a bull market. Bitcoin will be over $100K in 2025

But the main thing is that bitcoin is still illegal in our country, I invested bitcoin very carefully.

Lately I think it is better to invest in bitcoins than depositing money in the bank. Day by day people have lost trust in banks. It is heard that many banks are going bankrupt and closing down.
It’s a great advantage that you are actually thinking to invest in bitcoin with your funds on hand. However, the fact that it’s highly volatile, then never invest all in, or never stick for bitcoin as your only investment. If you are aiming to make secured profits, invest also in other investments like real estate or stocks as they can also be profitable too if you know how these investments work.
638  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading or investment! What's your take? on: May 08, 2023, 08:59:07 PM
Investing will lead to trading, so if you can be more good in investing, that will also mean you can be more profitable in trading too.  However, not all are gifted like this. Some just excel in investing, but fail in trading, and others are vice versa. So my suggestion, never complicate yourself in a certain thing that you are not comfortable of doing. But if you’re good at both, it’s a bonus. That will make you earn bigger profits in time.
639  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IS IT SAFE TO INVEST PENSION FUNDS IN BITCOIN? on: May 08, 2023, 08:42:53 PM

I spoke to a friend about Bitcoin and he asked if it is safe to invest Pension funds in Bitcoin considering the fact that this is a retirement saving. I am skeptical of investing people's funds in this coin because it can't be predicted also we cannot overlook the fact that Bitcoin may enhance investment returns at retirement.
However, my findings from people that work in these organizations say contributor's funds in some categories can be invested in risky investments because of the high return on investment and contributors have the option to opt for this option but with the exception of the soon-to-retiree.
To be honest, it’s never safe as always. Pension funds are certainly funds used to provide for the good living for old aged people, and not to invest in a risky and highly volatile one. And to think that pensioners are prone to be carried away by their emotions, so just imagine if their investments do not work, surely that will create threat to emotional and mental health of these old aged investors. So as much as possible, they should avoid bitcoin investment and the likes.
640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: May 05, 2023, 09:00:00 PM
Anyway, I understand why Fulton chose to stay at 122 because he will never let this chance slide because this is a big payday for him and if ever he can upsets the favorite, Naoya Inoue, he can add more hype to his name and that will open more doors into his career.
Since Inoue is a rising star and already cemented his status as one of the strongest bantamweight in the entire history, defeating him is something that will bring more legacy for Fulton. Aside from that, Fulton might receive some criticism for not welcoming Inoue on the 122 and might be called ducking or worst "coward".

That is surely the case if ever Steph Fulton did that and left the division amid Naoya Inoue's climb towards 122. People will not understand and will start calling him a coward after the statement he made even before Inoue cemented his legacy at 118, and now when Inoue made the climb, Fulton immediately evacuated away from his own division.

But fortunately, that didn't happen, and Fulton showed how glad he was when Inoue announced it and plus there's the WBO who gave Inoue some perks to legally fight the 2-belt champion, Fulton, directly without fighting the guys the from the bottom first or at least the interim holders.
