421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 11, 2023, 02:57:05 AM
Gambling addiction is simply irresponsible gambling. And it begins not when you win some money but when you as a gambler chooses not to set your affairs in order. For example, gambling without being on a budget, gambling without following a schedule or a timeframe, gambling to cope with your life's problem, taking up gambling as a form of employment. There are people on both sides of the coin who have won money over and over again and didn't get addicted to gambling and there are those who are yet to win a lot of money and are struggling with gambling addiction.

When the gambler do the deposit by managing the funds, then he won't get addicted to the gambling. Most of the people get addicted by trying to recover some loss in the gambling. If the gamblers manage the funds it is more then enough. The gambling should follow with the time gap is more essential one.My friend is gambler over a decade, but he is not an addict to the gambling.Because he had fix the gambling as the game and not expect any win from the gambling, but he get happy with all his winning and keep the winnings for future bet.

Yes that simple mate but for some people they are having a hard time about this because they don't know how to handle their finances well and instead of driving their emotions, they end up being slave to their own emotion as they don't know what to do when the pressure is there and when situation is getting more difficult. It's just a battle of win or lose, nothing more, that is why it is preferred to gamble what you can afford and have a specific boundary so that you will not overstep your limits.
422  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: August 10, 2023, 07:34:29 PM
And speaking of gamble there are those that view it as an irresponsible activity to embark on and whoever is into it is tag as irresponsible guy, for some it beyond being irresponsible but a sin something that is evil,  while some others out of an ugly experience of a loved one that got ruined by it due to extreme addiction.
This is even worse for women than for men. A man may be tagged irresponsible if he is found out to be a gambler and the society would be lenient with him. But for a woman? Never. She would carry the stigma everywhere with her forever. Nobody cares to know why she got addicted or how they can help. They'd crucify her with their words and actions.

Quote
But why continue in what you're not proud of by keeping it secret cause maybe you're worried about what people may say, how their thoughts about your person might change. Or how you might loose ties with someone you hold dear to. And many other reasons that follows.
It is not easy, that is why. It takes a lot of courage to come out of the closet as a gambling addict. You would have to face the shame from the religious standpoint, the embarrassment and disappointment from your family and friends and the stigma from the society. People who talk about their addiction are few and are real heroes for those struggling with it in the closet.
It seems to me that in today's society it doesn't matter if a man or a woman has a gambling addiction. Both sexes will be negatively perceived in society having such habits. Perhaps even the woman will be more regretted than the man, because women are usually considered weak and forgiven a lot. But the man will definitely be doomed to notoriety.
Sometimes due to the way that we have presented ourselves in the society can also make one not to let anyone know that he is a gambler. Some people pretend to be what they are not and for this reason they don't want people to look down on them that they also gamble. The environment where I live, gambling is seen as normal and old family men do gamble without thinking of their prestige in the society because they see it as fun. Their families knows that they gamble and the public too, they are even proud of it.

First off, there is nothing wrong with gambling because that is indeed one of the ways to accompany yourself alone during the times that you wanted to blow off some steam after a hard day's work or you just wanted an entertainment through gambling. And as long as you know your responsibilities and boundaries, there is a big chance that you will just go to be entertained and finish the day without any problems because these problems will start to arise if you are not ready what could happen inside the casino and if you let your emotions drive you in the middle of your gambling situation.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 10, 2023, 06:32:04 PM
I still think this is not happening because of Dana's response. If he had been talking to both of these billionaires and still are unsure of the dates then its the billionaires is the one playing Dana.

Do we really want Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk to fight in a cage ? This type of fight does not suit them. They are not wrestlers or boxers.

However, both of them are giants when it comes to technology and we can see the war between them in terms of technology creation, adoption and innovation  Let them be fighters in the technology field and this may help not only them but helpful for the whole mankind. Smiley

That is indeed much better because in that way, both of them will win and humanity can truly take advantage and benefit of the technologies that they are going to develop in the future. And honestly speaking, there is no need to see a physical fight between the both of them because they already have a technology warfare that is going on that is much less bloody that it could be when they will face each other in a fight.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 09, 2023, 06:48:56 PM
For sure Nate Diaz will pulverize the crap out of Jake Paul sure when this MMA fight happened, and many fans surely want to see that, Well to see Nate Diaz beating the crap out of Jake Paul that Nate Diaz is not the dude to be a mess with because Boxing and MMA are two different sports and when it comes to MMA Nate Diaz is really good at it, and for sure Nate Diaz still has the chin, in making the fight go the distance,

For sure there are many audience for that event again all fans of Jake Paul, all fans of Nate Diaz, all non-fans that hated Jake Paul, all people that are just curious on what kind of MMA will Jake Paul should showcase, is it just boxing or a mix of wrestling, because we all know the level of wrestling Nate Diaz have, and fore sure that level of wrestling offense and defense we would likely also see in this fights, not just striking and wrestling alone, so for sure there are a lot of technical aspect when it comes to MMA so it is a little bit complicated but let's just wait on what Jake Paul would showcase,

I reckon that it is very much more interesting to see rather than watching these boxing fights that we already know who will win and who will lose. They can hype it and market it to the crowd as like the outcome is not yet sure but no MMA fighter had a successful debut in his boxing career after retiring as a professional MMA fighter, that's just fact.

But in their possible rematch, it will be a new sight to see because I think it will be the first time as well. We might know we may win but it's just too interesting how the fight will go.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 09, 2023, 06:11:58 PM
Checking in for the season I could say that Lakers are not as bad as people think they are, they are just injured a lot. Now I know that's not the story of the season so far, but they are my wildcard for the ring and let me explain why.

They have Reaves that is getting better every season, Russel that is looking to take the PG spot and be good, Rui that is a great bench guy who defends very well, Vanderbilt as a great defensive guy as well, Lebron and AD is still there and being an all-star level amazing people, those names alone looks like they are actually pretty good team. I know that it sounds like they are not going to be all that great to some people, but I feel like they could actually be pretty good team for sure.
In fairness with Lakers, they don't have a look as strong as the others but they've got probably a balance there although with a leadership of course by LBJ.

But as the other teams are bumping their rosters, I don't know what's the plan of Lakers ahead of the season. Maybe they'll just play it like last time as they weren't expected to what they've landed there and still can be said a good job to them.

Reaves no doubt, he's like a star in the making.

I think that same look will give them an advantage because they are not being targeted in the upcoming season specially that teams now are likely taking Nuggets as their biggest competitor and that will certainly give them some space to adjust and surprise the other teams that they will face.

But still, an adjustment is much needed on their play because if they will not change something and improve what they did last season, they will be anticipated by the other teams in the league and we sure know that the Lakers doesn't want that to happen mainly now that they are quite confident in their current roster. And about Reaves, dude has been getting some improvements and been working out his play in the summer, it will be interesting how will he give the team some help this time because in some scenarios, he will be in the main line-up or the Lakers sixth man.
426  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I a bad person if I manage to avoid taxes? (Hypothetical question) on: August 09, 2023, 09:09:15 AM
If we see it on the eyes of the law, tax evasion is a serious crime and anyone caught doing that will be punishable by the law. Although in reality paying high taxes may be unfair especially for those who are breadwinners and yet only receiving minimum wage amount, but since we are under the government so we should always abide with the rules and not to disobey it and create our own set of rules. So by deliberately avoiding paying the tax, I believe it will automatically make us the bad persons in the society.
427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I see it, I feel it, I know it and it will live forever. on: August 09, 2023, 03:48:06 AM
No one can really tell what the future holds. But IMHO, if bitcoin will continue to be relevant and useful to the mankind, then there’s no doubt it will last forever. Besides, we’re not even expecting in the first place that bitcoin will end up reaching more than a decade but look at bitcoin now, its starting to conquer the whole universe with its real utility case and of course as a profitable long term investment. So perhaps if all the countries government will be unbiased towards bitcoin, then bitcoin will surely live and last forever.
428  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is copy trading a legit way of income for beginners or just a marketing tactic? on: August 08, 2023, 09:59:08 PM
It’s legit but it’s a never a reliable source to create an income especially if you are copy trading from a non-reputable trader or let’s say never become a real trader in the market. With all the scams happening over the internet, a beginner trader may easily believe on the self-claimed traders online and believe like they were your only hope so you can trade and expect sustainable profits. This is the reason why copy trading may not create a positive image at some point due to those unreliable sources for copy trading.
429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did Bitcoin Bring a Smile to Your Face? How Did You Make It Happen? on: August 08, 2023, 09:39:30 PM
I'm new to Bitcoin and the Bitcoin forum, but my curiosity is overflowing. I've come across numerous articles and blogs that share exciting testimonies of how Bitcoin has transformed lives, inspiring some individuals to even quit their jobs. It's heartwarming to imagine the joy on their faces. I'd love for all of us to share our happiest moments when Bitcoin brought a smile to our faces and the steps, we took to experience that happiness.
Yes. The fact that it’s making me live the way I want to be, so it’s a big help that bitcoin exist otherwise, I could be struggling to earn huge compensation from day job which I think is quite impossible especially if you are just a beginner in your job or position. However, never expect that bitcoin brings only smile because in reality, it’s also a source of sleepless nights and hard and tiring days especially if you are still learning how to invest in bitcoin.
430  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For newbies and plebs who want to self-study to become "traders" on: August 08, 2023, 09:12:54 PM
Perhaps the best advice of all time. Trading is never easy so one should learn it carefully and with high caution knowing its a high risk activity, that anyone can ultimately lose everything he has if he trade instantly without knowledge and honed skills. Also, with the presence of crypto influencers all over online, be careful not to fall for those fake traders impersonators as they can be anyone’s nightmare once a trader easily believe and instantly lose everything all his money.
431  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 3 ways of Turning your adversity to advantages in bitcoin on: August 07, 2023, 09:41:04 PM
We all face demanding situations, and Bitcoin has its fair proportion of them too, like no return, hacking, charge swings, scams, and piracy. But howdy, here's the deal - we will flip these setbacks into blessings with the right attitude. Embrace pain because it pushes us to develop. Learn from your mistakes and preserve enhancing.

Knowledge is they key to success, isn't it? Just go for that.
Indeed. And when you’ve got knowledge, you will know how to deal all those different demanding situations and make them manageable. Also, never be discouraged from all your mistakes and losses with bitcoin. Remember that before you’ll  achieve your best moment with bitcoin, you will have to face all your struggles first and when you’re done, it’s time for you to reap your rewards. So having positive mindset and being patient too will do a lot of changes in your bitcoin endeavor.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin really not for everyone? on: August 07, 2023, 08:59:56 PM
Yes. It’s definitely not for everyone but everyone is free to engage and own bitcoin. As freedom speaks on itself, then we are free to take advantage every bitcoin opportunity that comes. Some may go for it instantly, while some may have doubts and may hesitate at first if bitcoin can be a reliable source of investment, or just another too good to be true that will definitely end as a big scam. So if this is their mindset, which I think very common for beginners, then they will never be successful with bitcoin if they never put their faith and passion to it, and is never brave enough to take high risk with bitcoin.
433  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic problem, why is fiat difficult to hold. on: August 07, 2023, 08:45:00 PM
I think everyone knows the answer but still undeniable to accept the truth. Because believe it or not, we all want to save and leave good amount in our bank account and yet, we keep on doing poor money management and still doing things that would ruin our finances. So never expect that fiat will stay in our hands for long, unless if we are also blind to see that we are spending more than we earn.
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 04, 2023, 04:17:51 PM
I'm not sure if Miami will continue to try offering what they've got or like what you said, they will stay with Hero and try to develop
his skills for more competitive capabilities.

Future draft picks will be the biggest offering + Herro, it could be 5 or 6 but not sure if Heat is willing to give up that kind of huge players. So the only thing for us is to wait and see how everything will go down.

Pretty sure negotiations are ongoing and they are staying away from public exposure to avoid issues. IMO the Miami Heat should go all in on Lillard otherwise I have doubts about their ability to return to the finals or even in the eastern conference finals after giving up Max Strus and Gabe Vincent. They also let go of Victor Oladipo plus 2 future 2nd round draft picks to earn more cap space. The Miami Heat obviously lacked assets for direct trade with Portland, so they badly needed a team or even more to facilitate a Lillard trade.

They lose a valuable piece which contributes on their offense and defense like Vincent and now if they cannot get Lillard maybe your assumptions that they might struggle to reach in finals again might be right. But still if there cores still intact and Bam also Butler became healthy then we can add up the return of Tyler Herro still they have a chance to kick up for another finals run even if Lillard will not successfully acquired by Miami.

They will be able to acquire players that would replace Vincent. In my opinion, the Heat system is what makes them a great team, even though they lack superstars, they are still very competitive. Imagine what they achieved during the playoffs; they made history but were just unfortunate to fall short in the NBA Finals.

The Heat is still a playoff team. Acquiring Lillard will make them a championship team, so let's see how that negotiation will go as there's no news yet that the Heat has no more chance of acquiring Lillard.

The most talked trade this summer is still on the advantage of the Miami Heat. That being said, the trade about Lillard is now composed of a 4-team trade because the Portland insists that they don't want Tyler Herro on their roster, they just wanted a 4-5 future round picks, specifically first rounders. Hence why 4 teams are now involved in it.

A New Damian Lillard 4-Team Trade Where Everybody Wins

Portland Trail Blazers Receive: James Harden's expiring contract (can be flipped later), Kyle Lowry's expiring contract, Jaime Jacquez, Nikola Jović, a 2028 first-round pick from Miami, a 2030 first-round pick from Miami and a 2030 second-round pick from Chicago

Miami Heat Receive: Damian Lillard, Jusuf Nurkić, a 2029 second-round pick from Philadelphia and a 2028 second-round pick from Chicago

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Zach LaVine, Tyler Herro and a 2029 second-round pick from Portland

Chicago Bulls Receive: Tobias Harris' expiring contract, Caleb Martin, Keon Johnson, a 2029 first-round pick swap with the 76ers and a 2030 first-round pick from Philadelphia

435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 04, 2023, 03:26:20 PM
I'm sure Spence's career is not over yet; he can still fight, so let's wait for his next move. If I were to be asked, I would like him to move up and forget his losses to Crawford. A new weight class means new challenges for him, and I think he will be more comfortable in a heavier division.

It's not yet too late for him to get a fresh start and not yet his time to start considering for a retirement, it's just a single loss and almost every boxer goes through that trouble. And just like how others describe this scenario, it's not about the loss, it's about how would they figure out the things to keep moving after such loss.

And as for Crawford, it's okay for him to fight Spence in a rematch that will be contested at 154 because either way, he will move up towards that division. It will be a win-win scenario because he doesn't have any belts to lose in that division.
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: August 03, 2023, 08:35:57 PM
according to various news reports it’s rumoured that Biden government is planning to organise a task force which should make the process easy for obtaining the visa for the fans who wish to travel to see the World Cup but nothing is confirmed yet. Furthermore with elections due next year whoever win’s may make further changes to this task force hence I don’t expect much clarity on this till the next year’s election are over.
If they do something special, like "world cup visa team" type of deal, where people would apply for a visa outside of regular reasons and just for the world cup, they got in maybe like at max a few days before the world cup starts and leaves after a few days it ends, that type of special situations? That would be making it so much easier. Normally it is not that easy, it's filled, and there is really no situation where government can be enough to reply to everyone all at the same time.

This is why it's quite important that we end up seeing them do as well as possible. I know that it will take sometime, but if they can actually do it, then I bet that it's going to be great for sure. We just need to make sure that people can handle it as well as they could.

Forming a special team just to oversee the screening process from the people who will visit their country to watch the FIFA World Cup event will certainly be a big help to filter people that only wanted to take advantage of the situation, but they should know that a task like that will be very challenging and quite pricey as it will need big funds just to get the job done successfully as America is the type of country where they have lots of port of entry which makes it more difficult.
437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 03, 2023, 07:51:46 PM
While we do believe that Casimero knows those stuff and everything and can sell himself to their camp. I just recently saw about the thing with Donaire.

It was tough and hard time again for him as it's an emotional tweet that he has posted on his twitter account.

For anyone who wants to know about it, just go ahead on his handler/account.

It's hard not to notice it because it's been shared to almost all social media platforms and sports outlet are getting busy again because of this issue that Nonito Donaire himself posted. It will be hard for him to digest it specially after the fact that it came from his own father whom he thought he had his 100 percent unwavering support but in reality, he hoped that his own son will be defeated in his campaign to be a champion once again and worse, will be KO'd against Santiago. That's just too unfortunate man!
The dude just got a lose after a lose and then this, that's a lot of things for him to absorb and no one probably will remember this but her wife got also some beef with other guy, a beef not an affair.

So whatever is happening to him, I just wish him all the best and hopefully that he's able to overcome all of this. He still wants to fight and get some win before he fully retires.

We are all wishing him to get a win before he finally gets a goodbye to his pro career.

Yes, I've heard about that as well that Donaire's wife, Rachel, had a beef with the Donaire Sr. in the past or should I say still have it.

For what it's worth, hopefully there will be time that both of them will forgive each other and decides to put the past behind them as they approach the future. I know it's hard because nobody deserved to be in that position as that is literally painful and will surely take time before the wound will heal itself. I don't know what causes them to be in this situation but hopefully, they will find the peace soon.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 03, 2023, 05:37:20 PM

Anyhow, we can only see if Tapales will surprise us with an upset win although technically, Inoue really dominated him at everything.

I hate to say this but Tapales will just hand over the title to Inoue, in their meeting after Inoue's win against Fulton Tapales did not show confidence that he could beat Inoue, compared to Casimero who keeps daring him to fight him, its already given that Inoue will become the undisputed Super Bantamweight champion without serious opposition from anyone, he will sweep it and move on the higher division for more challenges, it's easier to make a plan when you are as good as Inoue.

Man, even if Tapales shows interest in his demeanor, I will still have the same views with this match up. Obviously, Tapales is a mismatch against Inoue, in all aspects. In fact there will be a huge chance for Inoue to knock him out if he will not change his fighting stance which is too open for Inoue has the speed and power.
I don't know what else to say here, but goodluck for Tapales facing the toughest opponent he'll ever have for the rest of his career, most probably. If he wins, it could be one of the biggest upset in boxing history.

It's kind of tough to say this because I don't want to underestimate someone specially if the outcome is still unknown but looking at Tapales while comparing him to Inoue, I don't see any factor(s) at all that will help him in his fight so that he can pull an upset in any way. I know that he got the other two belts and he deserve that, no doubt but that is the end of him because Inoue is now coming to take those belts away from him. Looking at Tapales is like seeing Paul Butler at 122 pounds.
439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ADVICE]Boy Wins $46k from Sports Bet but Can't Tell Strict Religious Parents... on: August 02, 2023, 08:18:19 PM
Some time ago, there was a similar thread that was discussing a guy who won a significantly high amount from gambling and his father didn't accept the money and told him to return the money and the money won't come into his house, the reason for that was also most probably because the father was either religious or his moral values didn't allow him to accept the money since it was from gambling and he probably doesn't consider gambling a good thing.

If it's a different story than that, then I would say that he should let them know first, and if they get mad and say that the money won't be used in their house, he should go ahead and invest the money into something maybe Bitcoin or start a business for himself and earn money from that to live his life with ease.

I was going to say the same thing where there was indeed a similar story that was discussed here not so long time ago, and if I remember it correctly, it happened in Nigeria where they had the same situation that their family was both strict, religious and definitely won't support their gambling activities. The only difference is that the boy in this topic is still weighing his decision whether to tell his own family or not because he certainly knows what will come to him once he will say that he gambled yet won a very significant amount of money.

If I were that boy, I would say it to them and wait what would be my parent's verdict about it as even if I know that they are not going to be happy with it because of the reason where it came from, it is still much better to say it rather than making it as a secret because a lot can happen specially from a young age like that. In most cases, they might get lost as at that age, they don't know what to do with that kind of money and aside from that, they will be taken advantage if they will tell it to their friends or someone they trusted. And that is why it is preferred to say it all to your parents so that you will be guided, and that money will be poured to the right place, like for your education for instance.
440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 02, 2023, 07:33:22 PM
Lakers is considered to be a dark horse as well, if I'm not mistaken, of course some of the core is back but still, a ageing Lebron and then injury prone AD? Still not sure how far the Lakers can go in this season.

No matter what happens to them in the Lakers this season, they have already done their job and won the championship because that's just all that it matters when you are with the Superteam trying to be a contender in the NBA league. It will be more amazing when they can get back to the NBA playoffs this season because they easily made a great run last season and also beat the defending champion easily. The worse thing they did was signed Westbrook despite having multiple stars that can help them with the championship again last season.

But some fans are saying that what they did was not enough because the last time they won the championship was in the middle of Covid pandemic where they had in-house games with a lot of rules to prevent Covid-19 from entering the league, moreover, at that time, NBA was still at an experimenting phase and not all players did play just like the usual season. Anyway, people have been divided when it comes to the topic, but yes, a win is a win and nobody can take that from them.
Different times though, but during that time the Lakers is a different team, both Lebron and Davis really wanted to proved something and so they go and win one for the Lakers. But after that it seems that they have experienced the curse of defending it as they are not the same team after their champions. And then some of there players left or being traded. And then we can saw that getting WB really put a dent on the team. So for me it's good that they are considered as a dark horse so that they can proved something against their critics and detractors (barring injuries from Davis and Lebron).

Indeed, that line-up they had way back when they won a championship title was very different. They've got a height and experience advantage which gave the whole league some difficulty, and AD and Lebron was a bit younger in those days plus they've had Dwight Howard, Rondo and Alex Caruso who was truly helpful to the team's defensive line.
And talking about the Lakers being a dark horse in the upcoming season is just a bit sad for me though because they just got that name in the time where WB is not on the equation.
