541  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop stressing kids with bitcoin on: June 19, 2023, 09:59:19 PM
Parents should realize that their kids have their own wants and interests in life and that they should not be deprived of it. Even if parents know the best, and that Bitcoin will make their future successful, but know that forcing them to learn something out of their will and interest will never be learned at all. So maybe we should just trust our kids on their own strategies in life and that they will be responsible for their lives and will never ruin them. After all, once they realized that they need Bitcoin in their lives, they will be the first to research on it and find means how to access it.
542  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Luck is what you need in gambling but you have to get to work with trading on: June 19, 2023, 09:44:08 PM
Gambling is risking your money to lose more since you cannot always take advantage of an unpredictable market. But with trading even if you know the market is uncertain but because you have prepared before trading and you've got weapons within you that you have been working for long, then that may lessen the risk of losing but will have higher chances to be profitable in the market by making such successful trades that will be align with the market behavior and condition.
543  Economy / Economics / Re: Rent or buy real estate - let's have a debate on: June 19, 2023, 08:51:52 PM
I have been debating about it with couple of my colleagues whether stay on rent or buy a property.

Let's assume, you are well capable enough to buy a new property through bank loan. Your income supports the mortgage payment so banks are willing to lend you money.

What will be the best route to take? Buy the property or stay in a rented place?

The usual appreciation rate of your property value is around 10% owing to the development work that are ongoing. For rented property, your rent increases by 15% every year.

What's the better option for you and why?
Taking a bank loan is still not advisable. As much as possible, you have to rely only on your hard-earned savings and if you think you are able enough, then no reason to debate but buying the property is always the best option than renting it the whole time. After all, you can always sell it back with a higher price or just use the property for business purposes so you can have additional source of income.
544  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Stop Teaching When You Need To Learn. on: June 19, 2023, 08:22:42 PM
It's not bad or wrong to teach someone who are interested about something like Crypto and other related topics but I would say that it is bad if what that person is teaching to someone is not the correct information or should I say misinformation then that's an issue or situation that we don't want to happen but there are newbies who are already knowledgeable about the topic and some are present here in the forum where the only that makes them newbie is about the rank while their knowledge is not on a newbie level.
Well that could be true for some newbies. But I have also seen other newbies trying to influence other people and act like as if they know everything when the fact is they only have less knowledge and real experiences in the market. That should never be encouraged in the first place. Although sharing information is never bad, but what makes it bad is you are miseducating the person who also believe that what you tell him are all based on facts and reliable enough.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: June 16, 2023, 07:20:11 PM
I know I've commented on this thread before but another thread on this board seems to have displayed perfectly what happens when someone tries to make a constant income in a game of chance.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5451287.0

That user started out with $500 and bet on the NBA playoff games hoping to make a ton of money.  They eventually closed the thread when they gambled away all their money leaving them with a $0 balance.  This is a pretty common experience for gamblers, but it's interesting to see it play out live to see all the bets and how their wallet was emptied.  In short, gambling isn't a job and those who try to make it such will be reminded of this fact in short order.
Accurate information and can provide concrete examples that looking for daily profits regardless of the amount and regardless of the capital used will not affect anything.
So with this information, it is clear and can be the conclusion that it is very impossible to get a steady income from gambling.
He better not try it because the risk isn't worth losing the money. But I think he could be curious because many of us suggest not gambling and don't think about making a steady income from gambling. He should try to find another job to get a steady income so he doesn't have a hard time surviving. And if he still has free money from his regular income, he can use it to play gambling. He could get a big win in the future by doing something like that.

Gambling is just for fun we should not take any serious thing in gambling we should not say that we can earn up $100 daily or just in a small period of time. It because we must know that gambling is not like a job that It can sustain you in a long run of your life. We must have the mindset that gambling is a game that is a stress release and not for income.

Also, there is no way that we can have that goal guaranteed because in gambling, there are of course no guaranteed as everything is unknown and only speculation and possibility. If only it is that easy to make a decent profits from casino then I'm quite sure that there are more gamblers than people who work in the office because aside from getting paid, they are also having the time of their life from the entertainment they received on top of the guaranteed profits that they will earn. Unfortunately, that's not how the gambling industry operates.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a steady income haven on: June 16, 2023, 06:34:57 PM
Gamblers are to make casino owners more richer.
Yes, that's how they make their own money. If having a casino was not a very profitable business, I don't think there would have been a whole lot of casinos, because the truth is that millions of gamblers are losing billions of dollars every day on the different casino platforms.
Gamblers make casino owners richer, especially if the gambler has a lot of money and gambles daily. And he lost so much it will attract the attention of casino owners to provide more services than others.

If gamblers knew and realized that gambling is not a place to make money but to lose a lot of money, they would not want to spend much on gambling. But then again, the temptation of gambling is so great that it keeps gamblers returning even after losing.
The gamblers that make casinos richer are not the regular gamblers who get into a casino with $50 hoping to make it $1,000 but manage to lose it very soon and then get out with disappointment. The gamblers that make a casino become richer are high rollers who have a lot of money and don't gamble only to get more money but they do it because they want to and they can afford to lose any amount of money for it.

High rollers find gambling to be fun, I know that even they want to win as well because no one plays to lose no matter what it is, but it wouldn't bother them much if they lose even the whole bankroll they've brought with themselves in a casino because they are rich.
Just like what others describe what gambling is, it is the most expensive form of entertainment. Might be easy to understand by many but only few people can actually fathom what's true the meaning behind that phrase as not every gambler literally knows about gambling and what is it, although that is normal because we are not here to know it and people around the globe have their own specific reason why they are gambling. But the most common is to make money even if the chances for them to win is not that good, compared to the house who always got the advantage.
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: June 16, 2023, 05:21:11 PM
In the last World Cup we saw that the players who sat on the bench in Brazil were the most expensive players. That is, compared to the value of those who performed on the field of other teams, the value of those who sat on the bench in Brazil was much higher. The 2022 World Cup in Qatar was a tournament full of potential for Brazil but they did not do well in the tournament despite having so many expensive players. By far the most Brazilian stars are performing for various European clubs. But even with such good players, they are not able to contribute much for the team. Maybe because of playing very few matches for the national team, these stars are not able to contribute much to the team's victory. If more friendlies are organized then Brazil will do much better in major tournaments.

Brazil were really a big disappointment in last World Cup by not even being able to go beyond the quarter finals. They had technically much stronger players than Croatia but they still couldn't. In my opinion that's because of not having a good management. Tite couldn't bring any significant success to the team despite being the coach for 6 years.

His only achievement is a Copa America trophy in the 2018/2019 season. I don't even have any idea why Brazil board didn't even sack him much before. Maybe the World Cup title would have been achieved with a great squad like this. Ramon Menezes must be the temporary manager now because he was managing the U20 team.

I hope they can find the right coach for themselves to get prepared really strongly for next World Cup.

Indeed, they were. A lot of people had a high hopes for them, including me, but an unexpected event happened where they did not finished with a bang and were even eliminated with Croatia which seemingly cannot believe themselves that their roster managed to defeat the national team of Brazil but it is what it is. Hopefully they can make more adjustment in the next world cup and learn a thing or two about what happened, and hopefully, they will hire another coach because I do believe that someone with a fresh mind and a fresh set of eyes can make a difference instead of having the same coach.
548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 16, 2023, 04:16:48 PM
Nikola Jokic changed the way we look at NBA and especially at the younger players who never saw how Magic, Bill, and Larry did it. It's almost like this, the Joker revived a strong big man, not like a "Shaq" big man but more of a versatile big man. And, I have no doubts Jokic will keep on passing more records from way back some of us were born.

Jokic would easily win the regular season MVP next season because he can easily generate triple-double stats. As long as he is healthy, the Nuggets will once again reach the NBA Finals. However, in the Eastern Conference, I don't think it will be the Heat, unless they upgrade their roster.

Shaq can be dominant inside but does not have the same shooting ability, especially from the free-throw line. On the other hand, Jokic is a complete package as a big man, capable of scoring, passing, and rebounding. He is also a great three-point shooter, with a possibly higher percentage than Curry.

Different era, we can't compare the two, and Jokic style of playing is more of a European obviously, and so they are teach to shoot from the outside regardless of their height. That's why when Jokic move to the NBA, he already have that shooting touch and passing ability. As compare to Shaq who really play low post back then and the only dominant big men in that era as no one can stop the diesel.

And so with that, with this new era of basketball for big, it's very different and Jokic is the embodiment of this era. With Dirk he can shoot outside but doesn't have the passing ability of the European players right now in the NBA.

It's quite obvious that in the past few seasons, Europian players have been dominating the league while the American players are quite on the back waiting for their turn because they just cannot outshine the superstars right now that mostly came from Europe. In every couple of years, the league became better and better and getting more interesting which mean that the era is changing in almost every passing year and that also mean that we cannot literally compare them as they are not in the same era. Just like the GOAT discussion and comparing the classing to modern, it's just impossible to compare it.
549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 15, 2023, 10:23:20 PM

We will know what will happen as the upcoming fight is already scheduled in July 15 in Las Vegas, Nevada fans will see him back inside the ring.

Looking forward to seeing great actions, exchanges of punches between these two fighters.

Wait, has there been an official announcement regarding this fight? It seems like I missed the big news. Could you refer me to the announcement where I can read and verify if it's true? If there is already a schedule, let us notify the OP to update the thread title and include at least the date of the fight.

Here it is mate: Nonito Donaire-Alexandro Santiago WBC Title Fight Set For July 15 In Las Vegas

Finally, it is now on the drawing board with little less chance of not happening and we are done waiting for their final announcement that could've made Donaire's career more difficult if it will not happen in Quarter 3 this year as we already know that time is not in his favor anymore. Fortunately, he is now actively preparing for the fight after waiting for a couple of months.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 15, 2023, 09:50:58 PM
Not the kind of Teo that we use to see, he was having fun. Is Taylor just too slow or Teo had really improved well?  Either way, its very stunning and boxing fans could by now will see Teo not just a kid who had some luck over Loma. Still Taylor fans couldn't believe it. It could just be because Taylor was too flushed to to get the weight at 140.

If Teo was much faster and relied to volume while Taylor seem to have gassed out, he could have KO Taylor to be more impressive.

I think that Taylor is not comfortable facing Lopez.  We can see how awkward he moves during the fight.  Aside from that, it looks like Taylor slows down compared to his previous fight.  He is just too slow to react and adjust.  I think Lopez had studied Taylor very well making Taylor looks like a sitting duck since Lopez know how Taylor will move and Lopez is able to stop Taylor of his body shots and hooks.

Both fighters are surely studying how their opponents move, but it's evident that Lopez was the better fighter in that match, deserving credit for the big win. Just imagine, the challenger won the fight via unanimous decision, indicating his dominant performance over the champion. It is often difficult to achieve such clear victories in fights that end with the judges' decisions.

Both surely do that, it's just the executions that matters, we seen that Lopez really outshine the current champ and impress
the judges to win the fight.

It's not an easy task but due to determination a fighter can really exceed from his capabilities, his performance shows that he is really
into a mission to win the fight and take the belt from Taylor, now he got 2 titles from two different fighters division an accomplishment that
a fighter always desires to achieved.

People will no longer doubt his success against Loma, as Teo has proven his ability to defeat champions once again by defeating Taylor, who is still in his prime in my opinion. I admire Teo's confidence every time he fights, but what I don't appreciate about him is his behavior as a sore loser when he faces defeat. He tends to make numerous excuses for his losses. However, with his big win against Taylor, he has dispelled those doubts and solidified his position as a dangerous fighter.

Yes, that indeed took away the doubts surrounding Lopez because defeating someone like Josh Taylor, that is still in his prime, yes, is truly a feat that not everybody can do and achieve, yet he did it. Anyway, I'm curious though what's the take away because few days before the fight night, Teo's father is already confident that his son will win and that if his son will be defeated, the fight was rigged. I mean, there should be some signs you know.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: June 15, 2023, 09:16:00 PM

Although Bivol and his camp shows intentions already to make this fight with Beterbiev. However, Beterbiev will have to go and win against Smith first. The thoughts of this 2 Russians fighting for the unification came to fruition when Bivol and his camp are not satisfied with what Canelo is offering them for a rematch. For them at least a good 50/50 split will make sense since Bivol already beat Canelo in their first fight. But it seems Canelo still wanted to get the biggest split of the purse and the money in the table which for now Bivol and his team rejected.

I've read Canelo's announcement and its arrogant for him to give Bivol that kind of a deal he was dominated, if he wants to avenge his loss and prove that he can beat the guy he should have given Bivol a fair deal to make the fight happen, Canelo knows Bivol will not accept the offer so Canelo can justify why he doesn't want to fight Bivol.

Light heavyweight will never be Canelo's territory because it is ruled by two of the most powerful punchers in Bivol and Beterbiev, Canelo should not over-extend himself.

Canelo still have the leverage over getting big cuts even when he is only a leftover. Can't say he doesn't have a place but because the promotion is with him, he can dictate terms.
Bivol vs AB I guess will happen if that is the case. Which promotion will take them can be a question. Would it be easy to promote a fight where the main event are both Russian? Adding big names in the main card will probably make the hype.

Yes, it is true that Canelo still have the leverage to be in the A-side after all what happened to him recently but asking for a rematch while having the same terms? That is quite absurd because they thought that Bivol will just agree with it just because fighting Canelo is a sure money, but no. Bivol's camp and manager, Vadim Kornilov, is not interested with it as they think that Canelo is just underestimating them for giving the same terms instead of him chasing them as Canelo was the one who lost the first fight.

If Canelo Alvarez will still try and push a rematch while having the same terms and having him in the A-side will indeed make the fight seems impossible to materialize because chasing for a rematch means that he needs to be humble too while accepting the fact that the A-side will not belong to him anymore. After all, he should make all amends as possible so that he can get the approval from Bivol's camp as currently, they are not interested as they have their eyes set to another prize.
552  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your honest review of the Demo account? on: June 14, 2023, 09:54:36 PM
Demo accounts are only good for those who want to be familiar with how the market trading works. And once you have gained knowledge and familiarity about it, then start taking risk in real trading. That will expose you on how it really works, and let you experience losses and small wins. So demo accounts are just for starters, but it will never be too enough if you are aiming to be a good and successful trader.
553  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is ahead is very dangerous on: June 14, 2023, 09:29:26 PM
I have always maintained that airdrops should be avoided altogether cause they pose more risks than potential of profits. This may seem like an overkill to some but engaging in something that risks your privacy and your assets at the same time with little promise of getting any substantial value out of it should be avoided.
Airdrops today are not as reliable and profitable like it is before. That is why it’s hard to trust these days in all forms of airdrops especially that most that are launched today end up as scams. So it’s better to avoid it earlier so you won’t put your assets in danger and your account in susceptible to hacking. While newbies easily fall for it, but for veterans in the market, airdrops are no longer valuable these days.
554  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best board to focus on as a newbie in the forum? on: June 14, 2023, 08:52:25 PM
I'm beginning to understand the forum better by the day, but I'm still under a learning process, cause we learn everyday and I'm big on receiving advise from older members
I find it easier to post on gambling, economics, politics and several others, but I want to know which board to focus more on as a newbie, what's your say on this? I'm open to learning from your opinions.
The forum alone has a lot of variety of topics, some may suit your interest and some may hard for you to understand. But if I were you, you don’t have to limit yourself to those who only make you interested to learn but also deal with those topics too that you feel you hardly understand. The more you don’t understand the topic, the more research you need to undergo. You need to be familiar on all topics in the forum, and not just on those few ones that are keeping your will and interest.
555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 14, 2023, 08:32:36 PM
1. Play games of chance for money; bet.
2. Take risky action in the hope of a desired result.

The second one seems to fit crypto best, so it's clear they know what they are saying.

Now, do you agree that crypto should be seen as a form of gambling? And if this eventually comes through, what should we expect as the constraints it might still bring to the crypto space?
Bitcoin is not gambling, only what it requires is speculation, but some people do not learn about bitcoin price history and speculation but they just want to invest, more especially during bull run when they fomo.

Most altcoins are gambling.

If you need proof that bitcoin is not gambling, I can give you detailed analysis about it as it seems more to be a store of value over long term period.
Yes. Bitcoin is not gambling because you can always be in profits with it if you know how to deal it as a long term investment. But if you just invest in bitcoin and expect quick profits because you believe it’s a get rich quick scheme, then you are not investing but certainly gambling your bitcoin. Altcoins too may not be totally form of gambling, but if you end up falling for shitcoins, no doubt you are gambling in there.
556  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Majority of investors are quitting, what are you doing? on: June 13, 2023, 09:56:41 PM
[.....]I believe Now is not the time to quit, now is the time to be bold enough, keep using dollar cost averaging, and don't wait till when things start turning around before you start taking a step.
You can be bold and DCA all you want but maybe stop worrying about what other people do with their money and focus on your own investment strategy. It would be nice if you could practice what you preach and get rich first then start educating people about the things you did to get there.
Focus on your own move first, and with DCA, you know it’s an edge so you can still maximize your bitcoin earning even if its price is not impressive at all like how others have described it. And always bear in mind that seeing bitcoin price consistently dropping is never a bad scenario, instead it’s a good entry in the market that will help all newbies out there to start investing at a significant amount of bitcoin. Now is the time to invest and do DCA as much as you want, as long as you are here to invest for long term and not just for quick rich profits.
557  Economy / Economics / Re: To Hodl or Lend: What is your take? on: June 13, 2023, 09:31:36 PM
As much as profits is concerned, I think lending your bitcoin will only put your bitcoin at a risk, since it might not be return to you anymore especially if the person you happen to lend has lost his source of living. That’s why I always stay away from that idea. But with hodling, you know you’re doing it for a profitable purpose, so you will hold your bitcoin as much as you can until you finally take time to sell when you think the price is already reasonable enough to sell.
558  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take advantage of the price fall. on: June 13, 2023, 09:11:34 PM
If your friend is going to get nervous because the price drops a little, he's doing it wrong. Either he is not thinking long term or that $1,000 is money he may need in the short to medium term. It is better to study bitcoin, its history and price behaviour in cycles to get an idea of what is to come, and be prepared for HODL for a long time to come, if you do things right, a little rise or fall in price should not even faze you.

Otherwise, I can already see your friend selling at $1100 because he's short the money when he can easily make x5 in a couple of years.
Well said. Panicking when you see the price is declining is never a good mindset. Your friend should have known that before he decides to invest most especially that price fluctuations is very possible with bitcoin so if you are not that brave enough, bitcoin investing is never meant for you. And know that bitcoin price drops are always giving us more opportunities to earn and be profitable in the future, so be easy on that and just do the right thing when the price is making a slight correction.
559  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 13, 2023, 08:46:53 PM
A trader who does not have a strategy is a gambler...
A trader who neglects their strategy and follow their instinct is a gambler..
A trader who trades even when the market is not in sync with their strategy is a gambler...
A trader who only understands the basics of trading and failed to keep up with research is a gambler..
A trader who does not have a plan have a threat of gambling...

The difference between a gambler and a trader lies within a very thin line. And there is no sitting on the fence if a trader does not fit into that thin line then they are obviously gamblers and there is no two ways about it.
If you are not doing trading right, then you are not trading at all but gambling. Though trading is also a matter of luck, but most likely it’s done with knowledgeable mind and a skilled mindset so you can expect that you will be in profit more than a loss when you are trading that way. However, in gambling, there’s no certain strategy to use, it all matters how discipline you are when managing your funds. If you can’t control the urge to bet, then definitely you’ll never win from gambling.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: June 09, 2023, 04:42:09 PM
There's no doubt that Beterbiev has the huge advantage in this fight and I predicted that this is also an easy knockout for him. These people doesn't know Beterbiev and he already improved a lot since his last fight. It won't take too long until Smith will feel the heavy power punches and surely he can't handle that for long. They feel comfortable until they felt those unusual punches that will eventually shake them and knock them down to the ground just like anybody else in his last fights.

He started slow though against Yarde, and I think Yarde could have won the early rounds and he said that it as the strategy, to preserved his stamina along the way. But as soon as Beterbiev got his rhythm, it's just a matter of time before he scored a knockout or technical knockout and that's what happen to that fight.

So if Smith can used the same strategy and caught Beterbiev early, then it might be a good fight. But Beterbiev is very dangerous, just 1 punch can change the fight. And if he caught Smith clean then it might be over. Smith is not known to have a good chin and if Beterbiev's land his signature hook, then book another knockout on his record.

If I can recall it correctly, that was Beterbiev's technique since then as he'd like to feel his opponent first before engaging in a slugfest and see who will survive and who will kiss the canvass first. Callum Smith can use that as an advantage to be aggressive in the first three rounds where Beterbiev is still feeling everything but he should be careful as well because the latter can be unpredictable at times and he might caught a heavy punch if he's not that cautious.
