1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl altcoins or..? on: March 20, 2020, 05:41:22 PM
If you are holding altcoin before, I do not think it is wise to sell them because the price has gone down. However if you have some fiat, you can invest on top coin such as ETH and EOS. I personally hodl both btc and EOS and currently the price of EOS is a bit above 2. This is a coin that was above 3 dollars some few weeks back. So EOS is a good investment.
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is all set to boom now... on: March 20, 2020, 05:35:30 PM
It is not ETH alone but other top altcoin. EOS is back above $2 again. although it was above $3 few weeks ago but since market is gradually recovering, hopefully all will fully recover after a long weeks of hopelessness and a lot of topic created to discuss the recent fall in price of bitcoin. This also give an indication that the price of crypto can still boom even as the world witnesses coronavirus pandemic
1043  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1xBit.com - Betting, Bitcoin Sportsbook, Casino web-site| ONLINE SPORTS BETTING! on: March 20, 2020, 12:52:39 PM
Most people that have reported an issue about 1xbit are users that have won a lot of money and anyone that is not new to crypto gambling site will know 1xbit have ton of history of bad reputations. If you are players or bettor that like waging large amount of money or you always like rolling over your winning to make huge profit, then 1xbit is not for you. I do play with them and I've always withdraw small winnings without problem
1044  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase's Chief Legal Officer Resigns To Oversee US National Banking System on: March 20, 2020, 12:24:07 PM
At least we will have in addition to body of people who would explain the potentials of bitcoin to some people in government who doesn't like crypto and also it will bring coinbase more fame and credibility for being exchange platform with such an intellectual. It amazing while some countries are distancing themselves from crypto, US is recruiting someone from a crypto business.
1045  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Price Halving succeed with Currently Situation on: March 20, 2020, 12:05:44 PM
As long as people are still trading and making use of bitcoin for products and services, I strongly believe the short fall will recover and the halving will have the influence on the price. To what extent the halving will have on the price is what no one can predict
1046  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Coronavirus scam email - do not donate bitcoin on: March 20, 2020, 12:01:32 PM
Despite the problem of the pandemic disease that the globe is facing, we should be all be careful in order not to fall for cheap scam like this. Center for disease control twitter page is verified and if this donation call is coming from their parastatal, then I'm very sure CDC will announce also on their twitter page. I don't even think CDC will announce for funding because there are not an independent organization. So everyone need to be careful.
1047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Central Bank Admits It Can’t Ban Bitcoin on: March 20, 2020, 10:37:00 AM
Since they have admitted they do not have control over it, I don't think they can totally ban it. Russia view is not different from many other countries that do not really know what exactly to do. If they even think of banning it, I know Russian will still find a way of trading and using the crypto
1048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Theft on: March 19, 2020, 03:08:12 PM
No wonder there are so many people on telegram always acting like intermediary and assistant to many exchange websites. They will always want dev to pm them to assist in listing their project. They must have developed such a method of scamming just because they heard some people that the op describe stealing BTC using the same method. This is a wake-up call for everyone to always be careful in dealing with people especially on the internet
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Store your bitcoin on: March 19, 2020, 03:03:29 PM
Well, this could benefit anyone who is interested in investing for a long time. The price is moderately low now. Not even the bitcoin alone but also many other top cryptocurrencies. There is no way the price will not recover and if this eventually comes, we might be looking to making at least 40% interest if bitcoin is purchase now. For someone like me, I have no option than to keep my crypto safe in my wallet and hope for a greener day.
1050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin during pandemics on: March 19, 2020, 02:58:08 PM
I did not take note of the pandemic that occurred in 2009 but I am very much aware of the ebola virus. In fact, it affects also my country but non of the pandemic you have mentioned above seems to spread very fast like this coronavirus. During the time ebola, it only affected much of some of the African countries and most especially Liberia. From what I have read about the virus, It is not new but the recent one is a mutation of already existing one with nobody certain if there will be a cure. This is enough to make people panic and draw the world economy down.
1051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY THE BLAME ON BOUNTY HUNTERS FOR SHITCOINS? on: March 17, 2020, 03:03:58 PM
Gone are the days that people call out bounty hunters fall dumping coin and name-calling. Whoever still thinks this is the only reason for coin turning shit then I think he/she is wrong. On numerous occasions, I have witnessed a situation whereby the bounty hunters tokens were not distributed before trading starts and the investors continue dumping the token especially projects that offer great discount on token purchase.
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are your safe haven now? on: March 17, 2020, 02:56:29 PM
if you have fiat you can cash on most top 10 coins. Including bitcoin. Almost all of them have drop to at least 50% of their values in few days. I hodl EOS and the price has dropped from $3.8 to below $2 so if you hav fiat you can buy EOS. Eth too is also hovering around $116 so for me it is a great time to fill your wallet. For some of us that already hodl many of this coin, we have no option to keep them save and hope better day will come Grin
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MESSAGE TO BOUNTY MANAGERS on: March 17, 2020, 02:51:43 PM
It is commendable because it reduces the possibility of spammers joining campaign but in the other way round, it would have been better if we have other great strategies of also protecting hunters by getting paid and not scammed after participating in a campaign. I understand in some platform such as bountyhive, bounty participant tokens are gifted to the manager even before the campaign end and get distributed when the campaign end
1054  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we agree BTC is not a store of value? on: March 17, 2020, 01:06:47 PM
If you have stored your values in gold or even diamond, it would have been otherwise because the world is facing a global crisis and not the only bitcoin is affected but also other assets. The global stock markets are affected and this is what is trending since the rise of the coronavirus. I am sure if the price of bitcoin pumps up in a few days and goes above the peak it has reached this year, you will come here to say otherwise.
1055  Economy / Economics / Re: How many people have been panic selling? I didn't. on: March 17, 2020, 01:00:57 PM
Aside from the whales, I am sure anyone who is not infected with the disease and have experienced such a diminish in value of his/her crypto wallet won't bothers to sell. I have even stopped checking my portfolio even since I have discovered I lost almost half of my total asset due to the sudden drop in the crypto. I hodl a huge amount of EOS that has dropped from $3.8 to less than $2. I just hope soon things pick up again. The best decision to take now is to leave the wallet the way it is. No more trading for now
1056  Economy / Economics / Re: South Korea quarantines and burn their cash due to Coronavirus on: March 17, 2020, 12:55:56 PM
Aside from the fast rate at which the virus spread, I still think the rate of causing death is low compare to some other pandemic such as the ebola. You can not take superstitious beliefs away from people and this is the reason why there will be more suffering during this period. I am very sure the WHO will have the most effective way of dealing with money suspected to be harboring the virus other than burning a huge amount of money. It is insane and I hope this virus ish stop soon
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would a (bicycle) merchant go about accepting bitcoin? on: March 17, 2020, 12:49:24 PM
First of all, I definitely wouldn't suggest BitPay. It has a well deserved reputation of being terrible. Roger Ver is a heavy investor in it, it supported Segwit2X and continues to support BTrash, and you won't be able to use it to buy your bike without completing KYC as the value is over their arbitrary limit.

BTCPay are a good payment processor, but still require the merchant to manually sell the bitcoin for fiat, if that's what they want to do. Others I've seen used in the past which support instant BTC-to-fiat conversion for the merchant are CoinGate and CoinPayments, but I don't have any experience of using these myself.

As AGD says, the simplest option would be to get him to set up his own wallet and accept bitcoin directly. If he wants to then register on an exchange to sell for fiat, then he can do that too.
I am seen this for the first time. I am serial user bitpay and I have not had an issue with them before, in fact, bitpay is my best crypto wallet and with the current version, new coins are added including USDC and PAX. If the op still want to buy that bicycle, I will suggest he convert the bitcoin he has to fiat and buy but if he insists in buying with bitcoin, then maybe he can find online marketplace that accepts bitcoin and search maybe he can see the type of bicycle he wants to buy
1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin has an identity crisis now? on: March 17, 2020, 12:40:49 PM
But this cut across every market. Even the stock market is also affected. I lived in a country where the major source of revenue if from oil and due to the crises, the economy is affected including importation. The price of crude oil has crash and the government is looking for a way to mitigate the effect of this loss. The same is happening to crypto which is regarded also as an asset. I want to believe reason, why there is a lot of hoax about this, is that people see crypto more as currency rather than asset
1059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 60% Wiped Out - Will Bitcoin Have a Hard Time Finding Investors After This? on: March 17, 2020, 12:00:19 PM
This time suppose to even be the time that bitcoin suppose to grow in my own opinion because there has been numerous reports that the virus can be spread through contact between the infected person and the fiat currencies which when pass around can be contacted by an individual. In such instance, BTC and other crypto suppose to witness higher usage for purchase of goods and services since it is not like fiat which can be transferred through direct contact when trading
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: March 16, 2020, 05:18:37 PM
both are good coins and are backed up by a good project. BNB own by binance is evolving and the consistent development of the platform and integration of the BNB token means it is going to be a good prospect. Likewise the ETH token. However, BNB is always the coin to choose for a short term investment and it is a few of those coins that really a good one in 2019. ETH on the other round, ETH is good for long term investment and might hit a great price one day
