1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 22, 2023, 02:03:14 PM
At last a score of 200+, I was getting fed up with these below 200 run target matches. As expected the last ODI between India & Australia will bring some entertainment. I hope the openers as well as the middle order of the Indian team perform like they used to in the past.

The way Australia started I was expecting a target of 300+ on the board. But, Hardik Pandya and Yadav took all the load and delivered what India wanted which was a low target. Already 8 wickets are gone without Australia reaching 250. Still, 4 overs are left, and if the tail-enders want to go after the bowlers now then with luck they might reach 280 or might not.
At the start of the match it looked like 300+ runs. Once the wickets started to fall, the scoring got disturbed and there were consecutive fall of wickets at regular interval. Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav had a good bowling contribution. Every Australian player contributed to the score, but there is no big score coming out of any player. If any of the player have scored century target score might've gone 300+ runs.

India started the endings and had a good opening partnership. Soon after the wickets of Rohit Sharma the second wicket(Shubman Gill) fell. Right now India is in good position, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul on the crease have made good partnership. This partnership need to continue till 200+ runs for an easy winning.
1062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pakistan Super League #PSL Discussion Thread on: March 22, 2023, 02:04:41 AM
If countries join hands and form a league then it might give competence to the IPL. Maybe something like Asian league can be formed, and can be hosted in every participating country. This could increase the viewer base as well as popularise franchise cricket same as that we see football being played on the Western nations.

As of now Sri Lanka Premier League have got 7 teams. Bangladesh Premier League have got 7 teams. Afghanistan Premier League have got 5 teams and Everest Premier League have got 8 teams. Among this same player will be playing different leagues for different teams. Only in such occasion there arises problem.

This is a good suggestion. So we have 5 countries - Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Either they can have 2 teams each from these countries, or add one team and then can have additional teams from UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The tournament can be either held in Super League format (group based), or a shorter Super Cup format (knockout only). That said, teams from different countries are involved and therefore deciding on the revenue sharing and hosting rights may be a bit tricky.
Surely it'll gain popularity within few seasons. The oil rich countries will make grand arrangements. Maybe the opening ceremony and the opening matches can be conducted there. Another big thing, every country should have schedule that doesn't coincide. If not the international cricket gets disturbed. When it comes to revenue sharing, for each match they need to fix additional profit to be provided for the hosting team. If the cricket board form a meeting and discuss, surely things can be eased and made possible.
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pakistan Super League #PSL Discussion Thread on: March 21, 2023, 06:43:34 AM
I have a wild suggestion after witnessing the grand success of this year's IPL. For this season, the viewership (both domestic and global), as well as revenues reached new records. Now Najam Sethi is planning to add two more teams to the competition. My suggestion is to add two teams from outside Pakistan. They can add one team each from Afghanistan and Nepal. These two are cricket crazy countries and it will transform PSL to an international competition. Rather than having franchise leagues based in each of the test nations, I think that it is much better to have a single league covering multiple countries.

If countries join hands and form a league then it might give competence to the IPL. Maybe something like Asian league can be formed, and can be hosted in every participating country. This could increase the viewer base as well as popularise franchise cricket same as that we see football being played on the Western nations.

1064  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC, more closer bullish days ahead. on: March 20, 2023, 11:59:55 PM
April has historically almost always been the strongest month for bitcoin. So I expect bitcoin to grow - and maybe a good alt-season will start at the end of April. The big question is whether May will be a bad month for bitcoin (as usual) or will we see continued growth...
This week have recorded the biggest gain since 2019. This is almost 4 years and the experience is different. Now the focus is upon the interest rate hike which is to be announced on March 22. Another side money injection is into discussion and we need to wait to know the better picture of bitcoin in the upcoming days. However BTC will pump big even if they hike interest rate or not. Right now the interest rate hike is danger even to the banks, which might redirect more people towards crypto.
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: March 20, 2023, 11:46:20 PM
Well... talking about this subject, I was thinking to myself, what level can Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi will be in 2026?

Will the decline in their performances be very relevant? Or can they still be the best players for their teams in the 2026 world cup?

we are in 2023, and this year we can see that cristiano ronaldo does not have the same speed as when he was 25 years old, messi does not have the same speed as when he was 25 years old. see the games in which these two players are currently playing and compare with the games of the past, for example ronaldo managed to do a lot of dribbles capable of taking many opponents out of the way and scored a goal, messi the same thing. but currently they prefer to pass teammates

that's because they no longer have that same resistance that allowed them to run all over the pitch for 90 minutes and still be constantly dribbling, they now play moderately thinking about retirement, they've won everything, except ronaldo who hasn't won the world cup yet, but for me messi won't be in the next world cup, but ronaldo with his greed could be, he doesn't conform to his age, anyway if the portugal coach decides that he will be called up for the world cup then who are we to be against ?

That's precisely the point, we are still in 2023 and have three years left to the world cup and during this time everything is possible for Cristiano Ronaldo, there's a high chance to say he won't be able to show the same performance we see from him these days because he is getting older time after time, even if you consider him as a good and professional player with a good physical power still playing at 41y old for the national team at the world cup is not something normal.
The passion for football never goes down, but the fitness is the one that makes things work in favour of his passion. These players will keep up the fitness level high, but age really matters when the young players enter. Ronaldo can make tricks and his technical games, but to stand level to the young ones into the team will be hard for him. This is just an assumption, we don't know how young is his mind for the upcoming World Cup. As said playing for the clubs is different from playing for the nation. The legendary ones preparing the young ones for the world cup will be more interesting than their participation.
1066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Planting a tree and investing in bitcoins should wait a certain period of time. on: March 20, 2023, 11:34:57 PM
Not only with planting of trees, For each and everything this is the fact and everything have got certain process. Just sowing the seed or planting a sapling and we can't expect the fruit out of it the next day. Even the hybrid variants need specific time to flower and then gets to a fruit. Same time there is a saying in Bible, “The gardener said, ‘Let’s give it another year. I’ll dig around it and fertilize, and maybe it will produce next year; if it doesn’t, then chop it down.’”. With bitcoin we need to dig around and fertilize, which is being done by very few spreading the good about bitcoin.
1067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto related jobs on: March 20, 2023, 11:29:20 PM
I'm not sure of the job market available for cryptocurrency pay, and through search I found development jobs are found much and we need to be qualified for the same. It is our personal interest and we can master it. It is true, because the developer of Uniswap is a mechanical engineering who got known about cryptocurrencies and started learning and developed Uniswap through his self learning and little by little developed and raised funds. So, jobs are available we need to qualify as very few are interested into development.

The Women's Final have come to an end. Elena Rybakina have won against the leading Sabalenka in direct sets. First set went very close as the winner of the set happened through the tie breaker. The points reached 713-611. Elena turned to be the first player to win against the World No.1 & 2 on semi final and finals to win the title.

If these points count, Elena could move up from her 10th position and reaches 3rd next to Swiatek and Sabalenka. This win makes it to be her first WTA 1000 title. The words out of her after the match is really good. This is the first time things went her way, hoping for more finals.
1069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Placing bet on WWE on: March 19, 2023, 11:05:34 PM
I don't know how this people are enjoying the so called WWE. The event tickets were bought at very high price and it have turned a big business. People know well about the truth, and continue to watch it. I never go with WWE bets as well as never suggest it a sport. Whether it is fight or something else there should be some logic. Just to create some sort of excitement they go to any extent. Recently a popular WWE star Ray Mysterio's son calls his dad to fight for some reason. How can this be considered good and the children watching these fights will have same mentality.
1070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Strangest Bet You Have Ever Had? on: March 19, 2023, 10:58:15 PM
This thread reminds of past memories. Going through the OP's fun gambling experience I remember similar event of eating competition where I was offered mere 5$ and finally I won and my friend didn't paid me. During Christmas Carol we were offered food at the end. That particular day we were offered Rice cake, I'm not sure whether you people are familiar with. The bet was to eat 25, I finished it and he increased the number to 50. That too completed and the bet remains unpaid  Grin Angry Those are really fun filled days.
1071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 19, 2023, 10:51:07 PM
Barcelona 2 - 1 Real Madrid

 Cry

again we lost against barcelona, in la liga we are not doing well this season, the big mistake of not bringing strikers when the market was open, but real madrid didn't do that, and now we are suffering defeats when we play against barcelona, anyway winning the league this season is impossible, and the coach had better consent to us getting the second position and winning the champions league, at least that would make up for it this season

The problem of Real Madrid is not that they don't have a striker. They have very good attackers who are young and vibrant to the And also they have been Benzema, an experienced striker.
It does not mean that whenever Real Madrid lose we have to attribute their loss to one mistake or the other.

Is it not the same strikers that  have been winning the Champions League matches and other matches?
Tonight wasn't for Madrid no matter the efforts of Vinicius Junior

Real Madrid was lucky to level against Barcelona in today's match. Barcelona is the real winner from the beginning as the goal that levelled 1-1 came from self goal. Consecutive goal kicks were seen throughout the second half of the match, even in that Barcelona was seen to have more goal kicks. Sergi Roberto took the goal and received yellow card later.

Finally perfect assist came from Alejandro Balde and the same is being converted as goal by Franck Kessie, which is the winning goal.
1072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 19, 2023, 09:18:44 PM
In the second match of the ODI series, the Indian cricket team was badly defeated by the Australian cricket team. The pro-India gamblers are very disappointed and very excited about this match. Never could have imagined that the Indian cricket team would play so badly in this match. In today's match, Indian cricket team's popular batsmen KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli all showed irresponsibility. A team as strong as India, to lose to Australia is unbelievable. The Indian cricket team has come under criticism for losing all the wickets for 117 runs
Indian team played real bad shots against Aussies pacers, they looked completely out of practice to play pace, it looks as if after the spin based test series all of them have completely forgot how to play the pace. I think India would either have to make spin pitches for the worldcup or will have to give their batsmen good practice of fast pitches. Don't forget that WTC final is also in England so obviously faster pitches are better.
Earlier this used to be a problem when India play in Australia tour or away from home series. This time worst performance have come from the home ground. Criticism is common in every game, in particular with cricket this can be seen much often. Same time these criticism have made changes. One recent incident is the performance from K.l.Rahul, who was under hard criticism and gave a good comeback in the last match. It is true that India need hard practice, if not they need to make plans accordingly as WTC finals and World Cup is close approaching.
1073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of the world population involved in gambling on: March 18, 2023, 11:58:19 PM
And if you we are going to look at it though, everything is life is a gamble, because we really don't know what will be the outcome of our decisions that  can really affect us for good or bad. And now with the advent of technologies, gambling are now more accessible, again, perhaps this is due to the pandemic that most of us are at home and nothing to do, and for those who are really into gambling, then yeah, play in our phone and laptop and continue with it. And to some extend every sports that we love, football, soccer and basketball, sports that we love and so we beat on the outcome of it. Just shows that gambling is really universal and we all know that it will be part of human history, no matter what we say or the bad effects it can bring to the society.
That's the reality of life. We're taking risks to achieve something. Sometime things favour us and we succeed and sometimes things were in the opposite way. As said life itself a gamble. Whether we succeed or fail depends on how we move forward with statistics as well as the luck that favour us.

Gambling in recent years have grown big than tha past. Gambling existed long ago, but the growth and the spread hadn't happened high as now. Earlier there is not much of awareness. Nowadays everything is happening in a well processed way and people aren't that greed. The newcomers have the greed and misunderstanding of winning big out of gambling. Slowly this too have changed as people know the risks and started to participate.

The second semi-final between Alcaraz and Sinner have begun. These two can't just stop winning and the same is happening from the beginning of the match. Consecutive points have come out of them with an early break point from Alcaraz. First set point to be decided through tie breaker, as both are 6-6. An interesting match to watch which is taking place in Royal Style.
1075  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can end poverty? In a nation today on: March 18, 2023, 11:41:28 PM
Bitcoin have nothing to do with poverty. Maybe the direct benefitting schemes from the government can be made even more effective than the traditional banking system. Bitcoin is innovated for different purpose and the same now got used in different needs. This means bitcoin have turned to be a multiple usage asset.

Poverty is something that needs to be concerned by the respective government. Every country have got poverty, but the grown countries hide it from the outer world. When the governments have trillions to spend on security during a budget, why can't the same government spend to eradicate poverty. This is some kind of politics, because if a person is taken out of poverty they'll progress slowly. In politics people need to be kept in control, poverty too a source. This needs to change.
1076  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the reason for the increase in the price of Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2023, 11:23:42 PM
Various reasons can be framed for the sudden increase in the price of bitcoin. The prime reason for the bullish move is the failure of the Silicon Valley Bank. A huge amount got withdrawn from the bank and the same is the reason for its bankruptcy. Most of the money used could've been invested into cryptocurrency and the same could've boosted the market price cross the resistance barrier $25k. Now the government have involved into the case and the state's federal reserve gonna fund the people and federal reserve could've entered earlier so that this problem could've been overcome earlier.

The price that bounced all the way have begun to decline as it is quite common to experience bull for some reason and take the position from which the real growth movement got a deviation. Possibly the market will undergo correction and thw real market moves will continue.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical gambling and internet gambling which is more fun. on: March 17, 2023, 10:06:30 PM
Seriously physical gambling is more fun than online gambling, but online gambling is more secure than physical gambling. When you are gambling physically, you can gamble with your friends and make arguments which I believe is the fun part of physical gambling, but when you are gambling online, it's always boring, nobody to make arguments with. But when you win in physical gambling, you life might be at risk, but when you win in online gambling, you are safe because nobody will even know about your win if you don't tell anyone.
Thats true, physical gambling is more fun. When we get into physical gambling activities, we don't gamble really but we make fun and enjoy the moments. Another thing, the spending won't be big, even the losses doesn't affect us. Someone close to us wins it and he buys the dinner for the rest. This is how things happen. When it comes to online gambling we play against the odds generated by the system and we'll be doing it alone. Sometimes we win and we enjoy it alone. The losses hurt and we stay unable to share with someone to get relaxation. For so many reasons physical gambling is the best.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 17, 2023, 09:59:47 PM
Australia tour of India 1st ODI match between these two teams has started. Batting first, Australia set a target of 188 runs in 35.4 overs. Australia team batsmen could not score many runs. The runs that Australia scored seems like Australia played a T20 match. But it will be all out.  I did not think. Now waiting to see how India team batsman can score. Virat Kohli batted badly in today's match. On the day when Virat Kohli bats well, India wins the matches very easily.
Even if Virat Kohli plays badly in this match India will easily win the match Rahul scored 68 runs alone and he is still playing. India need only 16 runs in 13 overs which is not a difficult task for India to complete and an easy task for any cricket team not just India.  India still have 5 wickets left so there is no doubt that India is going to win the match. However, compared to India, Australia had a much better run rate but they could not hold on to their wickets and all the wickets were lost in just 35 overs.
I agree with you, if the Australian cricket team could have completed the 50 over game. Then Australia cricket team would have reached 260 to 280 score and win the match against India. But unfortunately Australia team batsmen could not survive in front of Indian bowlers. Except Australia team batsman Mitchell Marsh no one could play well especially last order batting of Australia team was very bad. Indian cricket team performed well in batting and bowling
I was able to see the score 130 during the 20th over, and after some time the Australia innings have got over. We can't say the pitch have favoured the bowlers. It is the bad performance from the Australia batters. They should've performed better and scored atleast 250+ runs. Top team performing in such a way is completely unexpected. On the other side Indian batting too isn't upto the mark, if one among the the Jadeja - Rahul pair have fallen the match could've moved into the hands of Australia. The score was 83/5 and ended the match without losing another wicket. Hope Australia will make a comeback win in the second ODI.
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first pizza purchase using Bitcoin in lightning network on: March 17, 2023, 09:52:10 PM

Have you ever bought a pizza using Bitcoin in lightning network? Wink

no, unfortunately where I live bitcoins are not accepted as an alternative payment method, living in a very small town the chances of being able to do so are close to absolute zero! in the big cities near me there are some shops that accept bitcoin payments but I don't know if they accept lightning, never tried it but I intend to do it soon
Bitcoin acceptance is accumulated within specific region. This needs to get widen and it is possible only through you and me. Everyone who are part of the bitcoin community need to start accepting bitcoin into the business owned by them. This will create awareness as well as let more stores have bitcoin acceptance. With most businesses, they fear of accepting bitcoin just for legal issues as the governments haven't officially announced the legality of cryptocurrency usage within the country.
