What an unrealistic group of ppl beyond imagination... Nomore is not developing. It is bad coin for scammers like browser miners. 1 year of small moves and you belive in something. Price under 0.0147 and still hodlers belive... It is the end of bubble. It is btc last pump. It is alts demise start for longer period.  Only faith holds the price. Such small buy volume of 300 btc never happened at polo. Rsi total oversold an it doesnot want to bounce. Lol nomore.

You know this doesn't actually work right. Your short may pan out but it wont be because of your actions in this thread. You are having 0 impact on the price.

Any reply to my question from yesterday? I have read the last eight pages of this thread I could not find an answer to my question. I am not sure if this is the right place to ask. If there is a better one please tell me. I read there is a Slack channel but I have not used this technology and need to figure out how it works. It would be great if someone using Slack can ask the question. I think I am not the only one facing this problem. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I have not been able to deal with cryptosciences for some time and I am working on getting up to date what has been happened during the time. My very first question; Has there already been released an IOTA version with which you can claim the coins which had not run through a transition and are now somewhere stored on a foundation address?

If it is on a foundation address than you need to add come-from-beyond on skype and be prepared to endure KYC procedures.

Here is the thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2000113
1063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: October 20, 2017, 06:10:55 PM
Which types of users do you think would benefit most from a private coin like monero?  I think that anonimity is a strong point but some friend of mine think that the open ledger is more important!

Maybe if the account belongs to a charity or a benevolent government. But the applications for that seem relatively niche. Almost all normal people and for profit institutions would need privacy. Both employees and employers benefit from their competition not being able to read their finances like an open book.
1064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 20, 2017, 05:29:58 PM
...

Well this has major potential to get way, way, WAY off-topic so we probably shouldn't delve TOO deep down the rabbit hole, LOL... but just suffice to say your point may be correct IF in fact, as you say, the "politicians" control the "bankers".

IF however, in fact you dig a little deeper and it's REALLY the "bankers" at the tippy-top of the hidden pyramid -- such that actually it's the BANKERS control the POLITICIANS (who then only appear, or pretend, to control the lower-level visible "bankers")...

AND the source of ultimate power that ALLOWS these bankers to control the politicians is their magic ability to create "MONEY" out of nothing...

AND maybe IF in fact CRYPTO actually removes, or at least reduces if not "eliminates" that power... ? ? ?

WELL, then... ?

Maybe there's more here than meets the eye at first glance, and your foregone conclusion that "they" won't "allow" whatever ain't so certain after all Cheesy

I think we are saying the same thing differently, politicians control the laws that allow the bankers to print money. But this is really not off topic as we are talking about the eco system that our beloved Monero resides in and where it is heading which in fact is speculation. Wink

Politics, policy, economics and government, practically everything is downstream from culture. Culture always comes first. It is like the foundation of a house. The house can not be built without it, its shape will be largely determined by it, and its function will be severely constrained by it. You want to know where power truly lies? Look to the culture production industry. When you do you will notice that these people have something conspicuously in common with the people who run the banks. Just coincidence though I'm sure.

Incidentally this is why memes are so deceptively powerful. Anyone with their ear to the ground lately may have noticed the power of viral memes but may be at odds to explain why. Without proper context it is confusing. After all they are just silly little things. The reason is that memes are like the lego blocks that culture is built out of. The people in power now figured this out a long time ago and had a virtual monopoly on this knowledge for god knows how long. They hadn't figured out how to package memes in an adhock self replicating viral style payload, they just used a broadcast model. But none the less, like so many other monopolies, like the one our very community here is challenging, that one too is being challenged by another brave group of shock troops.

Exciting times! I'm so glad to be alive here and now.

Why the hell does Monero align itself with the retarded small blocker camp? The more I research it, the more obvious it is to me that the small blockers in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Core, have just done horrible damage to Bitcoin's scalability and adoption (literally over 80% of the world earns less daily income than your BTC tx fee).

I know this isn't really the right place for it but I just really want to respond to this. I'm a small blocker myself. Let me explain why.

Increasing the block size IS NOT A SOLUTION to the scaling problem. We would run into unacceptable centralization pressures before we even began to approach blocks large enough to facilitate any acceptable level for a global currency. What it is is the illusion of a solution. What is so dangerous about the illusion of a solution is that it marginalizes the urgency of this problem. 1MB blocks is a very useful fire underneath everyone's asses. Once real solutions are developed than I'm all for safe increases in block size that parallel increases in network and data storage improvements if they work hand in hand with said real solutions. Until then I don't think it behooves us to remove that fire. Not if our main concern is the long term prospects of the crypto currency movement.

This position may very well be wrong. I am certainly wrong sometimes. But i'm confident that it is not immediately obvious that it is "retarded" and I think anyone who would claim that it is has not really been open minded to the arguments of their opposition.

Update: I'm BACK!!!

Big PROPS to "Cyrus" who responded very quickly and got my account reset for me tonight.

I was expecting to wait a week and/or have to maybe accept my account was lost... but he came thru with flying colors.

Excellent work... thanks.

And thanks to y'all for the support here too.

Wow! Was not expecting to see a resolution so quickly. Congrats though!

If anyone hasn't posted in the signed btc address thread do so now before this happens to you!

Great advice! Thanks for turning me onto this. I just posted over there myself just now. Here is link for anyone else.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318

Isn't there a way to do this exact thing with a Monero wallet?  Why sign a message from a wallet that you wouldn't want to put any BTC in in order to not display how much BTC you currently are in possession of?

For me the answer is because I can use my trezor.

I have a technical question:
Is there a danger that I will lose my Iota held on passphrase generated in early version of the wallet?
Or can I left them and eventually make a new passphrase to spend it in the future?

More than a danger. I've been dealing with exactly this problem for months now trying to get my iota back Sad

Why exactly is there an issue if you still have the seed? Why does it make a difference if you generated the seed with an earlier wallet or anytime later? Or do you mean in general it's insecure to generate it with the wallet?

thank you

They switched to a new hashing algorithm I think in response to the MIT paper debacle. Thus the same seed will now produce entirely different key pairs and addresses. Fortunately it seems that my problem (and presumably now your problem as well) will be addressed in a new version of the wallet with a "IOTA Recovery Tool" for recovering funds from old outdated seeds. At-least that is what I have been told. You came at a good time. I spent months worrying, if everything works out you will only have to spend a few weeks worrying. I'll link to the relevant post.

Those in the list #2 should watch for the news about Iota Recovery Tool in the wallet. It's expected to be released this month.

Those in the list #1 should add me on Skype. My ID is
Code:
come-from-beyond
. Upon adding my contact send your email and your new IOTA address which was sent from that very email.

PS: I hope you won't waste my time by adding me on Skype while not being in the list #1...

PPS: Make sure you add the correct Skype contact, don't reveal the seed without making sure it's really me.

Can someone give more insights about the privacy/unttracebility of XMR compared with DeepOonion?
I use TOR network offten while I am online so I know it is very safe/secure. Any more knowledgable person here about this two?
DeepoNion has also strong community I see so tempting price at this moment

Well you know I just read a paper earlier today, Monero Research Lab Whitepaper - Subaddresses, (it was liked a few posts up) that had a relatively concise while comprehensive overview of exactly the question you are asking here, so I think I will use it here.

Quote
Privacy within Monero transactions is achieved by three primary constructions: ring signatures, one-time keys, and amount commitments. The use of ring signatures ensures that an attacker cannot determine the actual input public key used in the transaction, as it is obscured by the presence of randomly chosen input public keys [3]. Amount commitments use homomorphic properties to guarantee that while a third party is not able to determine the amount of a transaction output, it can prove that the transaction inputs and outputs are balanced. When combined with a range proof to ensure that the output is within a defined and valid range, commitments mask transaction amounts while avoiding misuse by a malicious spender. One-time keys are generated using transaction parameters and the recipient’s published wallet address, and are intended to make it impossible for anyone but the recipient to identify the destination of transactions or spend the resulting funds.

It will be four instead of three "primary constructions" once we get korvi up and running. Korvi development is fully funded and chugging along. Once it is completed monero will also have the same sort of privacy tool offered by DeepOnion (arguably better since i2p is arguably better than tor) in addition to all of the already mentioned.

Basically the long and short of it is that all the other privacy focused projects out there are amateur hour compared to monero. Nothing even comes close. Not even in the same galaxy as monero. I wish more people understood. I feel so bad for them getting led astray by fancy marketing. Sad

Monero is the best Coin, It's Super Fast & Secure what else you need?
I think that one day Monero could be $1000+

When BTC will be for 100k usd and bread at the shelfs for 30 usd. Maybe then.
Probably at weekend another leg upto 0.02 and then to hell for 0.01. noMore!

It's funny how there is always one in-house troll at a time in this thread.
Lots of troll activity here has always been a bullish sign.

We have all noticed it but realistically its probably just a correlation causation fallacy since the general trend for Monero has always been up and there are always trolls. Or you know not always but most of the time both of those things are the case.
1080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 14, 2017, 06:29:14 AM
Monero has just done an epic pump, which I guessed from last month that Monero would be in a good position to pump, and Monero proved pumped to high right now. After the Monero epic pump I think it's likely to fall back, I think it's a good time to sell because maybe Monero will drop back around $60 I guess.

Someone wants us to sell him our moneroj! Not going to happen bub!

Moneroj? Is that right?
