1081  Economy / Economics / Re: Could Bitcoin one day become the global reserve currency? on: April 01, 2023, 03:26:57 PM
My answer to your question is No. In my own opinion, there is no way that bitcoin will be allowed to become the global reserve currency anytime soon.
the World Bank, The governments of countries, and the IMF, will not consent to it. They want something that they can control, manipulate and regulate and bitcoin doesn't fall into any of these categories.
What I can say is that it may become the reserve currency of some countries just El Salvador(I believe some other countries with failing economies will join soon) but not the world.
Countries like China, Russia, Brazil are already in talks to ditch the USD and create their own and bitcoin isn't on the table, so I don't think we will see bitcoin being a reserve currency anytime soon.
1082  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: April 01, 2023, 03:06:00 PM
I wonder if higher education will help for entrepreneurship?
I am more interested in how much theory will help in this, because during a long study we do not get practice, this will be possible only when we start doing business, until that moment we will not be able to know how much it will help us.

This can help us if we need a license, but in some cases it can be obtained without a higher education.

Statistically, 95% of entrepreneurs have a bachelor's degree or higher and I wonder, for those of you who are involved in entrepreneurship, how useful was higher education for you?
Higher education is important but not necessary in entrepreneurship.
Well, that is why they have internship, externship as the case may be. Where after a long period of classroom work you move to the field to practice and apply what you have learned. Through this some persons may have seen their businesses improved and may have generated innovative ideas that takes their business to the next level.
Some may even go further to get an MBA because they want to advance their businesses. Most of the top executives in fortune 500 companies have some sort of higher education related to their business. it helps.
1083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going to Bitcoin events on: April 01, 2023, 01:52:25 PM
Going to bitcoin, crypto, blockchain events benefits us in anyway ?
Not just going to bitcoin events alone but actively participating in them can be super enriching and give you a career boost.
Last year, I volunteered in one of the local bitcoin events organized by a bitcoin enthusiast in my locality.
That simple opportunities alone catapulted me and opened so many doors in the crypto and web 3 ecosystem. Infact my perspective changed because I met a lot of people in that space that weren't techies they were just on the non-tech aspect of it. I got a change to undergo a 4-weeks mentoring class.
1084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can't become world currency (at least now). on: April 01, 2023, 01:40:31 PM
We have too many high hopes about bitcoin and it will do us a whole lot of good if we can tone it down a bit so as not to get disappointed.
There's too many socio-policital forces fighting bitcoin and as you can see they are trying all their best to bring it down. We must first be able to defeat them before we by a slight chance bring up the topic of it going to be a world currency.

By the way if China, Russia, South Africa are looking to create their own currency for trade what makes us thing they would by any means consider Bitcoin. I do not want bitcoin to become the world's currency, I want it to co=exist with other currencies. That's how it should be and not the other way around.
1085  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 31, 2023, 07:16:01 PM
Ain't nothing wrong with teaching kids how to trade. Nothing bad at all imo. The thing that may be wrong would be teaching to make money instead of to get knowledge of proper trading strategies, proper risks management, and other things that can set them up to become great traders in the future if that's the path they choose to follow.
1086  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: March 31, 2023, 04:28:49 PM
It is too risky to wait until danger strikes before thinking of saving. Saving starts at the point of budgeting. I can also understand why savings may be difficult in this present day. A lot of economies are facing inflation, recession, and a general meltdown. Salaries are not even enough to sustain an unmarried person not to talk of a person who is married with kids.
The income is so small that it is almost impossible to have any savings. If you can save. No matter how little save. Even if it is just 2 percent of your income or whatever money that comes into your account, save.
1087  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: March 31, 2023, 03:58:43 PM
The less riskier from Real Estate and cryptocurrency is Real Estate, but less risk,, less reward. The risk that come with the higher volatility of cryptocurrency makes the profit that can be gotten bigger. Will you go for less risk, or big profit?

Real estate and cryptocurrency investment has nothing to do with age contrary to public belief. I say this because 7 out of my friends are into real estate. They have 60% of the investment in real estate 15% in cryptocurrency and 5% in agriculture and a remainder in other businesses.

I would choose real estate investment over cryptocurrency investment because cryptocurrency is highly speculative, highly volatile and the future is just unknown I would say it is a big Gamble. I don't believe that one has a higher risk over the other the only thing is one has a huge entry point over the other. So if we were to talk of risk real estate has more risk than the other in terms of entry points.
1088  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it best to have a personal trading strategy? on: March 30, 2023, 09:35:10 PM
Every trader has some sort of strategy. They might not call it a personal strategy but it is like the last card they hold closely to their chest. Any trader who has been able to manage their trading risks such that they are able to reduce their potential loss is employing personal strategy. And when your losses reduce, your profits increase.
1089  Economy / Economics / Re: #Quittok: Desire for positive work environments and greater work-life balance on: March 30, 2023, 09:08:07 PM
There is nothing about TikTok that I like. Millennials and Gen Z's would gladly sacrifice their future for 5mins of the world validation. From the videos I have seen, it only happens in developed countries with stable economies and democracy. It happens in places where even if you are unemployed, the government can still take care of you. Literally, like no consequences.

On the other hand, I think people should leave their jobs with a plan. Don't just quit because you are in a toxic work place or you lack a work-life balance. Quit sensibly. Unless of course you live in a country where the governments  take care of the unemployed.
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why I might consider selling my Bitcoin. on: March 30, 2023, 06:52:24 PM
When the chips are down, the bitcoin you have in your wallet may be your last hope, your saviour. The list of reasons why one may consider selling off either some portion of all their bitcoins varies from one person to another and it is actually endless. For example, I once heard of a woman who sold her bitcoins to secure the release of her husband from kidnappers. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to sell off my bitcoins in a life-or-death situation. I can always get them back no matter how long it will take.
1091  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Early Profit can be misleading. on: March 29, 2023, 10:18:58 PM
they are at a position of becoming much better traders than those that enjoyed easy profit at the beginning which can be misleading. What do you think, let us discuss?
The first goal of trading shouldn't be to make profit. It should be to management risks. It should be to try out those trading strategies live and see how they work in the real world. To know what works and what doesn't and to adapt or modify it as the person sees fit.Any trader who makes profits on their first trade would end up being carried away and may not be ready to face loss.

1093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spread Love with Bitcoin on: March 29, 2023, 01:57:16 AM
In this forum, users have used their Bitcoin to get items for the needy, for school kids in rural communities, for the provision of clean drinking water in hard to reach communities in west Africa and many more. I personally love seeing these good gestures. It warms my heart because I wish I could do it if only I had the time. This is a time of sober reflection for both Muslims and Roman Catholics alike because of the great spiritual exercise they are carrying out.

What to eat after breaking the fast is something that I feel worries most of them especially those without any means. But this highly commendable gesture from the OP will go a long way in strengthening their faith. Thank you for the gift of Bitcoin and the sacrifice.
1094  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can old people use bitcoin? on: March 29, 2023, 01:19:40 AM
Never have I heard that it will be mandatory for old people to use Bitcoin. Besides, Bitcoin doesn't need to exist alone neither would I consider it win if Bitcoin displaces our local fiat. Bitcoin should be able to coexist with the fiat and people should have the option to  choose which to use and when to use it. By people I mean old people.Whenever this happens, there would be ease for them to have and save their Bitcoin. There would be more Bitcoin machines and a whole lot of other interesting innovative technology to help old people navigate how to use Bitcoin. It shouldn't be a thing that should perturb anyone at the moment.

Lastly, if you have old people around you, now would sound like a great time to chip in one or two things about Bitcoin. Just some light tips nothing serious that would immediately cause them to be disinterested.
1095  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your work. on: March 29, 2023, 12:46:12 AM
Yes. In this age and time that we live in, it will be too naive of anyone to not have at least a side hustle or a skill that can be turned into a side hustle when the need arises. At the beginning, do your 9 - 5 and keep doing it while you're building your business and personal brand. For example, do your 9-5 and return home and do 7 - 10 on your business or side hustle or just at improving your craft.

In fact, the goal shouldn't be to retire and live on your retirement savings, the goal should be to retire to your business that you have spent your time investing in.  This should be the goal, whether the goal is investing in learning Bitcoin trading, gold or other precious metals, real estate, agriculture whatever, that should be it.

1099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evidence that I actually invested for my baby on: March 28, 2023, 07:05:03 PM
Few days a go, I made a thread on the topic "early bitcoin investment for my baby" I got some comments saying I should show evidence showing I actually invested the money.

Here is the evidence: https://imgur.com/a/3Xr9pJq

I invested the $50 and even more from my little savings and from what I got from what well wishers gave to my baby.
I will be putting money in the wallet from time to time too.

Thank you all for the congratulatory messages. I really do appreciate. 🤗
Not trying to beat a dead horse but hey man, we get it you but bitcoin for your baby, it is great and a commendable act but honestly, you do not need any validation from the community. You have found what works and what you believe would have a positive impact on the future of your kid, you need no one to clap for you or cheer you on. Just go ahead and DCA daily, month, yearly as much as you like to your convenience. You do not want anyone thinking you are hunting for merits or better still a harsh comment.

I will tell you what you can do instead. If you encounter any issues say wallet, security, Hold or sell off with regards to your baby's investment, you can always bring it up here and the community will be glad to help you out. Aside this please do not try to seek validation here it actually irritates some users. I am sorry if this sounds too harsh.
1100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Never, ever, buy your hardware wallet from a third-party on: March 28, 2023, 12:27:23 PM
This is like do what I say and not what I do. It is funny because in the two weeks or one month we would read another story or interview of someone whose bitcoin was wiped off because they threw caution to the wind and then went ahead to buy their hardware wallet from a so-called trusted online vendor with "five-star rating". I feel bad for the guy, and I truly hope that people learn from this silly, avoidable, and costly mistake.
