The name itself is jinxed in my opinion as both men's & women's teams of RCB have never been on the top. DC looks good and they might be the only team to challenge MI. Only 18 more days left for this season to end and one thing is clear Harmanpreeth Singh has proven that she is one the best captain in women's cricket. Mumbai Indians team is strong that if one player fails the other takes role and performs. This season of Premier League to be won by Mumbai Indians. Delhi Capitals expected to give good fight, but the team failed to perform scoring just 105 runs. Papua New Guinea wasted the good start they got and may end up at somewhere around 240. They are at 227/6 with two and half overs to go. Anyway this match is not very crucial for them. No matter how many matches they win from now onwards, they will remain at the bottom of points table in ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2. On the other hand, this is a must win match for United Arab Emirates. Already they are trailing Nepal by 3 points and a win today will narrow that gap to 1 point. And then they need to win both the matches against Nepal.
UAE need 247 runs to win and it wont be very easy. Only top 3 batsmen Kiplin Doriga, Hiri Hiri and Sese Bau scored runs rest of batting failed to stand in front of UAE bowling. Sese Bau was not out on 81 runs, he should have scored century as he faced 106 balls. Good come back in the game from UAE after 112 runs partnership between Hiri Hiri and Sese Bau. PNG were once looking to score 270 - 280 but they settled for 246. Still PNG have a chance to win another ODI againest UAE. Well, the sad news is UAE was not able to win this match. Papua New Guinea set a target of 247 for the UAE. The target was not too big. But the problem Is that UAE was not able to even get close to that target. Almost all the players from Papua New Guinea played fairly well. They had a good overall performance in both batting and bowling. The UAE had posit performance. Only one player named Aryan had a personal achievement of half century. Other than that there is nothing well to be said about the performance of UAE. With the loss UAE is at the brim of losing the ODI status. The competence is at the peak, because Nepal wants to move above the position of Namibia to qualify. There are surely lots of tired legs in the Indian camp atm and they have to face tricky 10 overs. 9th wicket partnership between Lyon and Todd Murphy is going to hurt us badly, never a good sight when pure tailenders put up 70 odd runs partnerships as it breaks your confidence.
LOL... when we talk about tailenders scoring runs in Border–Gavaskar Trophy, the ones that come to my mind are Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami. Never expected the Australian tail to put up such a tough fight. The 70 run partnership between Todd Murphy and Nathan Lyon destroyed the morale of the Indian team. And in the end it was Ashwin who got both these wickets. India needs another 245 runs to avoid follow on. So far the two openers looked comfortable out there, but we never know. One or two quick wickets can put them in trouble. Tail wagging is a nightmare for any team so agree haha Well if the pitch stays the same then we can expect India to cross at least 300 runs at the end of day 3 (without losing many wickets) as guys like Gill, Rohit and Iyer won't take a conservative approach and will surely play attacking cricket. India also needs a couple of daddy hundred from their top 5 batsmen. If not then they are doomed. It will be very difficult for India to score 500 runs in the first innings. I don't think the pitch is entirely conducive to batting. But if India manages to play well in the first session of the next day and not lose wickets, they will collect a big score. It is difficult to stay at the crease in the first session. To collect big, the top-order players must bat responsibly. But India's top-order players are not in good form. My guess is Australia will win this match. The early wickets will decide the winning of the match. I expected fall of wickets yesterday, but India managed to stand wicket. Based on the performance I believe India will play better in the first session. The team have got good batting line-up and if one of the player fails, upcoming player needs to understand the situation and play accordingly. This could make the team move forward against the attacking bowling from Australia. For India Ashwin was dominant in bowling with 91/6. For Australia Lyon is predicted to be the dominant bowler as the pitch is favouring spinners. |

Pakistan Super League (PSL) was played today with the number three and number four teams in the points table. Currently, Multan Sultan is at number three in the points table and Peshawar Zalmi is at number 4 in the points table. Every match of Pakistan Super League is a high scoring match. The kind of game we see in the Indian Premier League. Fakhar Zaman's century yesterday and Rilee Rossouw century for Multan Sultan today is really giving cricket lovers a lot of joy. Peshawar Zalmi batted first and managed to score 242 runs after batting 20 overs. After going into bat with a target of 243 runs, Multan Sultan got an easy win in Russo's batting frenzy. Congratulations to Multan Sultans for gifting us such a beautiful match.
A visual treat for all the viewers - great performance by both the teams. Zalmi did perform well and so did Multan. interesting match especially Roussow did and amazing work. Agreed, it is a visual treat. But I don't know how things were happening. If I'm not wrong, the ground have been shortened. If not it isn't an easy thing to score 242 runs and the same being chased by the opponent with 5 balls remaining. All these are able players, watching the score of Peshawar Zalmi I concluded it a win and moved. Now it is a big surprise, in someway it gives an odd feeling whether T20 cricket is losing its real value through these leagues where entertaining the audience and money making is prime focus. |

Speaking of media rights, there are some rumors that ICC sold England's (4 years) and Australia's (8 years) media rights for about $400-$500M, which is very low.
They are not disclosing the details hence the rumors are floating around. If it's true then Indian broadcasters won't be happy with this development for sure and ofc BCCI too.
Don't forget when ICC sold Indian media rights, news of a $3.1 Billion deal was out in the media within hours.
One thing we have to realize is the Australian and English people are very good at keeping secrets. But that's not the case when it comes to India. Indian people generally cannot or do not choose to keep a secret a "secret" for a long period of time. Even if they do, someone from the inside is going to leak the news. And that's not the case in England or Australia. Forgive me if it feels like I am generalizing a lot of things. But this is my assumption. Everywhere there'll be insiders who provide information to the media. When it comes to India the competence is high to reveal a news as the agencies were found more and for the trp rating the media could go to any extent and take news. In Australia and England the news providers have got certain limitations, beyond that they cannot take things forward. I'm not sure, whether ICC is behind the tournament or not. The tournament is quite interesting to watch as it remind of watching old matches. Though the match isn't familiar, India have good set of players and to few players are down with their fitness, in particular Raina is simply different. Afridi and Shoaib sitting outside and enjoying the match, and this match particularly interests the 90's kids. Asian Lions have scored 165/6 in 20 overs. The Indian Maharajas are going to bat. This is actually going to be a competitive match in my opinion. But Indian Maharajas should be able to win this. I can see, they have a good batting lineup. This is basically a fantasy team type competition for the '90s kid. Indian Maharajas are batting now and they have got 37 from 5 overs after the loss of one wicket. Gautam Gambhir is playing really well. I believe the Indian Maharaja's actually have this under control. Gambhir took the team partnering with Murali Vijay, once these two wickets fell the team had lost consecutive wickets. Finally Asia Lions have won the match by 9 runs. Misbah is awarded Man of the match for his 73 runs. Sohail Tanvir took three important wickets of Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan. |

I was not aware of the history between Bangladesh and England in T20 but they chased down the total really well. Looking at the team, majority of their top order players were fairly new to me and once Bangladesh reached 100 in the 11th over i was convinced that they would chase the total and hence placed a bet on them as they had Shakib Al Hasan still to come out to bat and they had a couple of other players before him.
Did you know that this was the only 2nd T20 International Match between Bangladesh and England? The first match Between Bangladesh and England was the 20th Match of the T20 World Cup 2021. In that only T20 International match, Bangladesh Scored only 124 Runs by losing nine wickets and England won the match with eight wickets in Hand. They had six more overs in hand as well. It's been 19 years since T20 International Cricket started. England And New Zealand Played the First T20 International on 5 August 2004. In 19 years, Bangladesh never faced England only once and it was in the T20 World cup. This is the first T20 International series between Bangladesh and England. Bangladesh playing in their backyard. I have a multi with two early games on it as well. Wouldn't even mention it here if you did not brought the question since games already started. I prefer to put them in advance os somebody can use my tips. I have Struff ML @1.7 and Kokkinakis 2:0 @1.7, both players in great form and I expected easy wins from them. Looking good at the moment even though Struff lost first set 6:1, have no idea what happened there  Struff with a nice comeback and a win with some good odds on him. Both players serve good but Struff pulled it through. Kokkinakis won the first set and looks like he will win easy the second one. So nice two easy wins it Kokkinakis dosent do something stupid. Struff after losing the first set very badly 1-6 had made a comeback. Kokkinakis have won the match in direct sets. Now the match between Andy Murray and Etcheverry is going on. It looks like the first set will move to tie breaker as both have levelled the score 5-5. Nowadays Andy Murray wasn't able to perform as the past. He is one among the expected player to progress and reach the next rounds of Indian Wells tournament. |

Islamabad United vs Lahore Qalandars The match between these two teams I thought that Lahore Qalandars batting first may not be able to score more than 190 runs. But Lahore Qalandars scored 210 runs in 20 overs. Lahore Qalandars team batsman Fakhar Zaman batted brilliantly. 115 runs from 57 balls. Lahore Qalandars have done very well in terms of bowling, because of which Lahore Qalandars have won so easily.
Based on the score in the first 10 overs, the score could've reached 250+ runs. In between Islamabad United took few wickets and that stopped the scoring. Bangladesh cricket team managed to give some consolation to the fans of Bangladesh cricket team by defeating England in the third match of the ODI series. However, it is a shame for the Bangladesh cricket team that the Bangladesh cricket team could not win the series on their own soil. Bangladesh played very well against England in today's match. If the Bangladesh cricket team could have done well in the previous two matches, they would have definitely won the series
Bangladesh comeback in the third ODI is really commendable but one thing is that Bangladesh had many chances to win the match in the first ODI except for the second one. But the top-order batsmen failed completely on the day and depended on Nazmul Hasan Shanto and late Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam as Bangladesh managed to collect 209 runs in 47.2 overs on the day. England had a target of 210 runs but they had to bowl more than 48 overs to meet this target and the wicket went for 7 on the day. Like yesterday's match, if Bangladesh's total was above 240 runs, then the first match would have been won by Bangladesh. Although England won the ODI series between Bangladesh and England by 2-1, many congratulations and best wishes to the England cricket team. Yes, Bangladesh missed its opportunity in the first ODI. Shakib Al Hasan have performed good in the second and the third match. If he had played well in the first match this could've been a winning series for Bangladesh. As in the previous post, the experience always matters and Shakib Al Hasan did it in the right way in this match. Teams always have the players to take position and perform when someone wasn't able to do the right thing. Maybe this isn't possible everytime, but the try could give good results and make the career good. |
