1121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: June 26, 2023, 11:42:20 PM
With the way the Saudi Arabians are presenting a lot of money to these players to come join their league especially the young players who we know do not need the money as retirement money after a successful career, it is showing young players who actually like football and are playing more for the love and competition than for money. Some players have refused accepting the deals because they have what they are playing for. Brozovic is still linked with a move to Barcelona, he may also refuse to join Al Nassr like Luka Modric.

The young players rejecting the deals still wants a legacy for their names because they want to be remembered as one of the players than won trophies with their current clubs. These players still have many years left in their footballing career to play in Europe and win trophies. They know if they leave their present club to move to Saudi Arabia, it means they're ending their career as no serious club in Europe will be scouting in Saudi Arabia for players and they won't be getting any consideration since they aren't probably  popular. Not every player is like Zlantan Ibrahimovic that can go out of European but still get sorted after by big clubs in Europe.

Football is changing, with the right price everyone is buyable and they can forget about their dreams to chase the money. The right money hasn't been offered to this young players and when they weigh the benefits of taking the contract at Saudi Arabia and what they'll get still playing for Europe in regards to fame and recognition, they'll prefer playing in Europe. The competition in Europe is more intense and the trophies are more recognizable in football that whatever is going on in Saudi Arabia leagues. Saudi Arabia thinks they can use money to influence the quality of their league but they'll need more than money if they want their League to be among one of the best in the world.
1122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: June 26, 2023, 11:18:54 PM
Pochettino immediately kicked out five players, starting from Kante, Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy and Mateo Kovacic as the first step in building a team according to the players he wanted. Chelsea transfer policy indicates that it will carry out a major overhaul in the transfer market this summer.
How Pochettino kicked those players makes me worried about Chelsea future. Those players who left Chelsea are good players, I don't know why they should be leaving Chelsea. For me, transfer policy made by Chelsea, indicates they still don't understand what the weaknesses of this team exactly. Chelsea don't know how to build their squad with proper players.

I don't think it was Pochettino decision to get rid of those players but probably he gave a go ahead. From how this players left this looks like Todd Boehly kind of deals. If we look deeper into this deals that got more than 5 players living it's because Todd Boehly is looking to make profits from old players that won't be comfortable playing for Chelsea when they aren't in an European competition and them playing for Saudi Arabia will give them the money they never thought about making while playing football. Clearlake Capital (one of the stake holders that invested in the takeover of Chelsea, which is one of the owners of Chelsea) has very strong business ties with Saudi Arabia PIF so the deals are not surprising and it has nothing to do with Pochettino.

There's not a football club that's as big as Chelsea that shouldn't be targeting for trophies. We aren't playing in the strongest and most important competition so what's there not to use those free time to dominate the domestic league and tournaments. I think Chelsea has to get the least one trophy next season because at the rate players are leaving Chelsea, we might have no team left if things aren't done quick. When we win some major cup next season, players will be interested in joining Chelsea since they would want to win trophies as well

1126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current Topic: AFCON Qualifiers 2023. on: June 21, 2023, 10:59:49 PM
Good news for Nigeria, but heading to the AFCON, there are strong concerns about if the current super eagles coach José Peseiro is the best option to lead the country to that competition. José Peseiro was appointed on 15 May 2022 and the contract is to end this june.

During his time, Nigeria lost two international friendly games to Mexico and Ecuador, won Sierra Leone and Sao Tome & Principe in the AFCON qualifiers, lost to Algeria and Portugal in another two International friendly games, Lost to Guinea Bissau in one AFCON qualifiers game and won the other, they also won against Sierra Leone in the second leg of the AFCON qualifiers. In total, he has lost five games and won just four.

Do you think he should continue?

I don't support foreign coaches and I'm waiting for the day the Nigerian football federation will realized that and stop hiring foreign coaches instead we should grow our own. We have coaches in the local league that have won the title back to back that if given the same opportunities this foreign coaches are been given that they'll do very well for the country. This foreign coaches have nothing to lose because if they don't perform well the worst we can do is to sack then and hand them a bag of cash to terminate their contract. We need to start using our own which they can be held accountable for and be determine to proof themselves to their people.

The last time the super eagle won any major trophy was in 2013 and that's 10years ago and guess the coach that won us that AFCON tournament, it was the late Stephen Keshi (may his soul rip). We need indigenous coach if we want the super eagle to be playing good football again. José Peseiro contract shoudn't be renewed, he hasn't proven without any doubt that he can deliver this boys to glory. I haven't seen anything special about his style of coaching or playing. Infact it seems the boys are just playing anyhow they feel and their games are just horrible. Imagine they almost lost the last game if not for the late winner from Kelechi Iheanacho.

As we all know that bitcoins is best productive for investors when they go for long term investment, what do you think about  investors who are affected by the economic situation of their country. should such person keep holding even when things are upside down knowing fully that the only hope is to sell their bitcoins even when it has not yield any substantial profit so that they can meet up with life.
Share your thought as regarding this matter.

Bitcoin isn't a business no dey expect passive income from am, it's an investment and investment are to be done with spare chas that you won't need urgently. If you're using funds that'll require you to sell your investment prematurely then you're investing wrongly. Funds use for investment shoudn't be emergency funds but funds you won't need in a very long time. When you invest like this you no go get all this problem wey you dey talk about. In no life threatening condition should you sell your investment and no dey put yourself in situations why go make you sell your investment when the time wey you plan for the investment to take mature never reach, you dey program your mindset wrongly by so doing.

Invest as your pockets reach, if na 10k wey you go fit keep aside and use am do investment wey be say you no go reason am until e dun mature then use only 10k enter market. No go use 100k wey e be say immediatetly you enter any small money problem you dun rush go sell. You no dey do anybody na only yourself wey you dey do. The condition of the country hard no be lie but try use your hand so something for yourself commot eye for your investment because when that investment mature for future na you go still enjoy am.
1128  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting Some Merit really boosted my motivation on: June 21, 2023, 10:25:26 PM
This may seem trivial to those who already rank high in the forums. but it really means a lot to beginners. Gaining Some Merits actually can revive dormant Motivation. But still I also realize that just motivation is not enough. but also must be accompanied by an increase in insight. with more diligent reading and so on.
Other beginners must also feel this way, right? I doubt if only I feel this pleasure.

As time goes on it because normal, you'll no longer get excited or motivated when you receive merits. Just wait until it begins to occur regularly then you won't feel anything more since you know you deserve the merits you're getting. You get motivated when you don't receive than often which means you need to work on yourself. I'm not saying you aren't putting in effort in your contribution but when you received something you already know you deserve you won't feel excited as someone who doesn't deserved it but was gifted. Nevertheless I get it that lower ranked users will appreciate it more when they received some merits because they need it for ranking up

Such behavior is normal for those ranks but the higher ranked users can't say the same (especially legendary members) since the merits mightn't mean much to them anymore. Merit was introduced to highlight quality contributions so when you receive merits on your quality decision, you did deserve it so it shouldn't excite you much and when you noticed you're still getting excited then work on yourself more (increase your quality and board awareness) so you can get more merited and the feelings leave your body.
1129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What will happen if I change the Topic in the Subject box when making comments? on: June 21, 2023, 10:11:12 PM
Instead of asking, why don't you try it yourself and see how it would look like. Only your comment topic will change and not the original thread topic after you have posted it. If there is a topic that doesn't fit the thread created, all you need to do is to drop your suggestion in your post and the OP will go and edit his topic. I have come across such here in the forum. As long as you didn't create the thread it is not rightful for you to change it because it wasn't your own initiative.

This is not a matter of good or bad ethic here, the option is available which means you can make use of it. If the forum didn't want anybody to be able to edit the subtitle of a thread then the option won't have been available for you to be able to edit the subtitle during your reply to the thread. I feel this option is made available so we can have multiple topics under a thread. I found this helpful when I created the Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout. {Current topic: #EndSARs}, the subtitle were used to start a new discussion on the the same thread and it was very helpful because you can follow different topics on the same thread.

In addition to what others have said, when titles are changed and they get replies, the new post bares the change subjects and not the original subject of the thread which is useful for continuous discussion for thet particular topic and also you should note that for the fact a subject can be changed to fit a particular discussion that doesn't mean the original title can be changed,  only the comment subject get changed. Therefore it doesn't affect the main subject of discussion for a thread
1130  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: This increment of Fuel price in Nigeria on: June 21, 2023, 09:47:11 PM
I'm actually disappointed that a whole country like Nigeria doesn't have a price control, imagine our Baba presido just announced suspension of fuel subsidy and the next day all the fuel station done high there prices, I wonder how long is going to take for it to come back to it normal state. Imagine were you normally pay a certain amount and now because of the fuel price you have to pay x times two, to even make the matter worst, some fuel station are not selling for now based on the fact that they had information that fuel will increase more soon so they prefer to  reserve and sell high.

Please let's share knowledge because I believe one of us in any way has been harase by a police officer, and also what do u really think about the fuel issue? Would the price come down or increase the more?

Wetin you wan discuss na Police harassment abi fuel subsidy, I hope you understand wetin removal of fuel subsidy be? Before the country been get control which is the fuel subsidy but now dem dun commot am so how you want dem to get control again. Make i make you understand how this thing dey work. Before you (citizens of Nigeria) dey always by sweet (fuel) from your street (filling station) for 10 naira but you no know say your uncle (Nigeria government) been dun already dey pay half payment (subsidy) for all the shops wey dey sell sweet to you but now him dun stop to dey pay the subsidy for you to help control price.

As him dun comot the subsidy so the shops dun rush dey sell 50 Naira per sweet but this price no go last for ever, as more people are been given licence to dey operate the shops (refinery and filling station) price go dey come down small small. Now the price control dey in the hands of the market and not the government anymore. To bring down the price of fuels, things like giving local refinery license to operate and repair the refinery putting it in a good shape to operate need to be done because without them they just empowered only Dangote to dominate the oil industry.
1131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 21, 2023, 09:30:57 PM
The signing of Havertz by Arsenal may be to add a player with a winning mentality that Arteta has not had so far, even though there are already many Arsenal players in Havets' position like Pablo Veira. Another possibility to accompany Odegard in creating Arsenal attacks.
Another reason behind signing Havertz was to anticipate Arsenal players leaving the Emirates Stadium.

Havertz wasn't so bad at Chelsea. In the 2022/2023 season, almost all the players played could not perform like the previous season.

£60m guaranteed fee + £5m, the price of a Havertz as stated by Romano.

You didn't watch Chelsea game then because as a Chelsea fan the only reason Havertz wasn't getting trolled like the rest squad is because of the respect he earned when he singlehandedly won us the champions league against Manchester city by scoring the only goal in the match and he turned up for other important games during the champions league winning season. After that season, Kai Havertz has just been an average player that hasn't lived to the expectations the club has for him. He caused us lots of game last season by not been able to score even in clear chances opportunity.

I mightn't know what Mikel Arteta sees in him but I'm not surprised he's been signed for this much because we have a business genius as the owner of Chelsea. Few weeks back Real Madrid was also interested in Kai Havertz which means the managers of this clubs still see something good in the player. He isn't a bad player but isn't good enough for Chelsea and thankfully he's leaving and we're getting a good deal getting rid of him. Mikel Arteta can't be serious though him wanting to compete for the title against Manchester city Haaland and it's kai Havertz that he's going for.
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: June 21, 2023, 03:53:40 PM
With several players who play in the European leagues coming to the Saudi pro league and it is likely that there will be more because the clubs in this league do not seem to have limited funds so using the power of money to bring these players to their clubs will be able to compete with Al Nassr, Ittihad FC and also Al Hilal, I wonder if their presence will make us watch matches in these leagues?

I don't think all the players going to Saudis Pro league will make use watch the league. The only reason we're watching the league is because of Ronaldo and not all those players going to the club. Judging from the teams the players are going to, it's looking like only 4 teams will end up having stars playing for them so what happens to the only 10+ teams left. They'll be playing poorly because of lack of talent and only the four teams controlled by the PIF will be dominating the league. The Saudi Pro league needs to do something about that before they start losing viewers due to the poor quality of the other teams.

What make a league interesting isn't even the top teams playing brilliantly but how competitive the smaller teams are that's why the premier league is regraded as the best league in the would and it's because there's no small game in the league. As brilliantly as Manchester city are playing, we have small teams that'll disgrace them home and away. Apart from the top 4 teams in Saudi Pro league, other teams should be giving the support to try convincing quality players from Europe to join their teams.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 21, 2023, 12:14:02 PM
However, Chelsea has talented players like Aubameyang, Pulisic, Sterling, and Fofana in attack. So if Chelsea's new coach Pochettino can't strengthen the bond between the players, this team will not be able to perform well in the next season. Pochettino will have to work hard to strengthen this squad.

The coach doesn't need to strengthen any bond between those players you mentioned as alot of them will be sold or loaned before the transfer window ends. Already Aubameyang is going to continue his football at Saudi Arabia and other Chelsea players will be following him out of the door. Fofana would be sold or loan as there are rumors of Chelsea wanting to sign a striker who isn't going to be our first choice striker which means we'll likely get two strikers coming in before the window closes. Pulisic who be sold as well. Sterling still has some quality in him and can be utilized very well under Pochettino and that's the only player available frolm your list.

There's no doubt we have to strengthen the bonds of the new players we'll be signing in this summer window and that's what preseason are for. Todd Boehly got some millions in his bag to use in buying players Pochettino wants because he's getting alot of profits from the Chelsea players getting interest from the PIF of the Saudis. Already the likes of Kante, Mendy, Hakim Ziyech, Koulibaly are already on their way to Saudi Arabia as those deals has been finalized and Havertz is going to Arsenal as well with Mason Mount leaving to Manchester united.

1135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: June 20, 2023, 10:59:33 PM
I was really surprised that there was another player from Chelsea who was the target of a Saudi league club and now it is goalkeeper Eduardo Mendy's turn to join Al-Hilal. I didn't think that the dynasty owned by Chelsea was now collapsing to optimize its finances again after spending so much money last season. But it's also a good offer to play in the Saudi league because it has such a fantastic salary per season. I think now the favorite destination for European players is to join the Saudi league after winning any title in Europe.

There's a reason it seems the Saudis are now mostly interested in Chelsea leftovers and that's because the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Clearlake Capital (who are a share holders at Chelsea) has a business which involves Clearlake Capital managing some investing from the PIF that has now taken ownership of about 4 clubs in the Saudis Pro league. We should be expecting a lot of business between Chelsea and the PIF until the transfer window is over. Chelsea has alot of players that needs to be offloaded that are big money earners that only Saudis can handle their wages.

Todd Boehly is a business man and finding loophole are his specialties and he has been doing that since he took over Chelsea. He did it in the January transfer window that saw him spend millions without breaking any rules and he's doing it again by selling lots of players without breaking any rules. He's going to be the owner of a club in Europe that benefits the most from this Saudis money been spent. I see buzz about what Chelsea are doing is illegal and not been fair to other clubs but that's how business is, only those that understand the games gets the biggest piece of the pie
1136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 20, 2023, 10:29:59 PM
It won't be difficult for him to adapt to the Premier League. the arrival of Pochettino as a substitute for Lampard, in my opinion, is the best decision from Todd compared to previous coaches because clearly, we can see in terms of the reshuffle he has made for Chelsea really serious, and apart from that Pochettino is a coach who is quite mature in terms of his experience coaching the club - Premier League clubs.

Lampard wasn't a coach so anything instead of Lampard was a win for the fans, people aren't ready to have this discussion because Lampard is a Chelsea legend but he wasn't supposed to be handed Chelsea in the first instance and neither does he deserves the second opportunity he got under Todd Boehly to handle the club. He cost us so much in the short period he was the caretaker of the club. Immediately he took over, our champions league hopes got destroyed and other hopes as well. Nkunku coming to Chelsea will strength the front attack of the club.

We needed his attacking threat because that's what we missed last season and made us to lose most of our games. We're now solving that goal threat issues and we need a striker to sealed off the whole goal drought issues. Nkunku will adopt right away, he isn't a player that needs time to adjust to leagues and he'll be playing under Pochettino that isn't new to the premier league. He'll be using his previous experience with the new experience he gained at PSG to coach Chelsea and the teams can be respected again, not playing Junior teams against us and still trashing our 3:1.
1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 20, 2023, 10:17:40 PM
But of course, it is true that no team is going to actually give him that much money because he has not been performing like Benzema. So, his expectations were not met. And that’s why he can also see that the ball is in his court right now. So he can dictate the terms. Chelsea has the biggest problem here.

Chelsea aren't in a problem, they can punish Lukaku and make him worthless if he tries to form stubbornness. His wages are too much for the type of play he brings to the team. He isn't a superstar as he thought he was anymore. He hasn't showed any reason to be worth what he's asking for. Hope you know how shameful it is for the Saudis that are throwing money at anybody just to get them to come to the Saudi Arabia league but when it gets to Lukaka they said he wasn't worth that much which means even the Saudis don't value Lukaka.

He better takes the deal and go get the bags because inter Milan don't have the finances to take care of Lukaka wages so unless he's ready to take a pay cut, he has to return to Chelsea while Chelsea doesn't want him near their stadium not after all he did last two seasons (disrespecting the club). He can't play for the new manager as well and Chelsea will just have to terminate his contract leaving him without any club so he better take the offer form the Saudis and go over there to finish his career. He'll still be in the spotlight as Ronaldo is constantly making the media pay attention to what's going on in the league.
1138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The truth about investment (bitcoins) on: June 20, 2023, 09:58:19 PM
Investing in cryptocurrency has become a major reason behind many holders in the Crypto space , this is an undoubted reality. We all know that bitcoins has its various usecases but 80% of holders are profit driven. To me, I have come to understand that every holder cannot become rich at thesame time because their is no free money anywhere, when one user gets enough base on its smartness and well calculated strategy, another holder become a victim. This is something that happens
In every other business. So the fact is that , success in investment is directly linked to smartness.

Success in investments might not only be linked with smartness but also patience. Those that bought Bitcoin in the earlier stages of Bitcoin and still holding up to this day isn't because they were smart but because of the patience they give to Bitcoin. To become a successful investor, you don't necessary have to be the smartest person in the room but you have to possess the qualities that successful people have which are many characteristic including having patience and been smart as well. Bitcoin is still at its begining phrase so we don't have to expect Bitcoin to have accomplished all the creator had in mind during its creation.

If you ask me I'll say Bitcoin has done quite well for itself and with time more greater things will be achieved. For now the idea behind huge population coming the market might just be for the reason that holding Bitcoin brings profits but with time we'll achieve other things like Bitcoin been used as a means of exchange and gets more government and global approval. We shouldn't criticize Bitcoin for achieving other milestones that weren't on the initial ideology of the creation of Bitcoin. Instead lets give Bitcoin more years and we'll be celebrating other impact that are more related to the usecase of Bitcoin.

Newbies know This
1) Readers are Leaders: You can not grow if you don't read.
2) Experience Teaches Better: Learn from the experience of your seniors.
3) Information: You get more information about the task ahead of you when you learn from your seniors.

Summary: Success does not come from hard work alone, without good information as a newbie, you will always find the forum difficult.

At some point we once were newbies ourselves (on the forum) and we grew to where we're today because we put into the work and efforts as we wanted to improve ourselves. While doing so we learnt from those ahead of us and our mates that were doing better in regards to getting merited more frequently for their contributions to the forum. You can't grow if you don't learn, you might have knowledge outside the forum and be an expert in whenever field you're working or even be a cryptocurency expert but to succeed here you have to loyal yourself and learn from others. Spend some time reading the forum and you'll understand how here works.

The learning can be done in various ways which might be looking at how other high quality users write and respond to thread and try doing the same until it becomes you way of writing. You can also learn by constantly reading the replies of those you consider to be writing excellently. I remember doing the same when I was a newbie myself, I spent more time reading than actual writing. Newbies of today need to do the same, you learn more when you're reading instead of writing what you have no knowledge about which might just end up making you look like a spammers. Newbies need to learn to create less topics and engage more in discussion on the forum.
1140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does ranking not guarantee post quality? on: June 20, 2023, 03:35:27 PM
I know for sure there will be a lot of comments that blaspheme me. I may be a newbie but I know that a post has value and a good argument. Maybe I haven't read all the threads, so I have to ask about my statement, that many high ranking members have low quality posts? talk nonsense and have no clear arguments. Is my statement correct?

Irrespective of the rank on the forum, it's the person behind the accounts that determine the quality of the posts and not the ranks. Bear in mind that some high ranks account you see were just airdropped merits and didn't earn the number of merits you see their account having so don't think they got their because of their quality. Some where privilege to be around the early forum users when only activities matters to rank up and you can get their by barely writing the minimum. We also have spammers in all ranks including the higher ranks so you shouldn't be using those spamming to justify all high ranked accounts.

We also have people from different parts of the world and not native speakers of english and we all know english also has it's effects on posts that are quality. A poorly constructed reply might be considered a bad posts that lack quality but the users might had made more sense if he was a native speaker of english language or had good writing skills. All I'm saying is not all post you see that the users instead to not make sense with their write up but sometimes their english disappoints them. Ranks doesn't mandate quality but it does have its influence if the users grew the account from newbie to whatever ranks he's at now because he must have gained experience and that'll help with his writing provided the users isn't intentionally spamming to make up for the weeks quota of the signature campaign they're enrolled in.
