1161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the market will continue to fall on: January 29, 2019, 01:34:52 PM
Indeed the market is still likely to experience a decline, but I never thought bitcoin would lose its value to zero, I think your assumption is only based on your fear of decreasing bitcoin prices.
He probably saying that because of the fear and uncertainty around Bitcoin and big bunch of altoins. But still idk why many people are making their speculation and trying to say that BTC is going to 0 USD it like saying that the product with fundamentals which are growing from day to day are worthless.

I don't think they mean it anyway. Same as those who are saying that btc would hit 50k to end the year. Random speculations based just on the person's hopes. Though it can't all be a downward trend for this year since we're already quite low.
1162  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much Bitcoin price Expected end of this year on: January 29, 2019, 01:31:59 PM
I'm surprised that out of 9 people who voted, 3 actually think that we'll end above 10k considering the current circumstances. Well there's nothing wrong about being optimistic but i guess that's a little farfetched. At best we could hover around the 8-10k area i think.
1163  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 v/s 2019 on: January 29, 2019, 01:29:22 PM
2019 will be better than 2018 in term of market prices. I don't say we are going to see new ATH, we are going to be rich this year etc... But the trend will reverse and I think we are going to see much better prices than now for BTC and also for the alts.

Well it think it's unfair to compare since we started quite high just under 18k to start 2018. This year the trajectory would likely be upwards even if we drop a little more in the 1st quarter. Let's see but that's how i see it.
1164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices are being settled to explode ? on: January 29, 2019, 01:26:57 PM
From the last three months prices of Bitcoin are range bound and hovering around 3600$ .It seems that the prices are settled and waiting for the uptrend movement . Is it the start of the journey towards 20000$ again?

Your theory is kinda stupid. Grin
The prices aren't waiting for anything. The whales are waiting, which leads to all the other traders waiting.
The market is waiting and this helps the bears, because if they start mass selling btc,the price will go down for sure.

Yeah, it's more of the other way around and as we can observe with what's been happening the last 48 hours, it's by far not going upwards. We may yet see another new low since the 2017 run. A stagnant movement in a price this low can take the guts out of potential new investors.
1165  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $400,000 Says Investing Guru Mark Yusko on: January 29, 2019, 01:22:49 PM
This sounds a lot like the McAfee claim of 250k.... Too good to be true.

$40k would be nice in 2020
$100k would be nice in 2023

As stated before there is no basis for $400k and it's wishful thinking.

When you get down to it, there's no real basis for any valuation. We're all just trying to extrapolate based on the past, which we all know is bullshit in empirical terms. Or we're depending on Metcalfe's Law, which obviously isn't a law at all. We're all just guessing, taking shots in the dark.

The downside limit is zero. There is no limit on the upside. I've been toying with the idea that Bitcoin adoption represents an S-curve that hasn't gone vertical yet. If we hit $13 Million per BTC by 2023, I honestly won't be surprised. Wink

If we hit $13M per Bitcoin, I'll buy you a beer Grin

Lol albeit a little conservative than old man mcafee but just as ambitious. I don't believe they really mean those amounts though they'd seem well tought. Anything that these investing bigwig says would be picked up easily.

Breaking news:

Let me #wojbomb at you with - Anthony Davis has officially requested to be traded saying he has no intention of resigning with the Pels.

Well you can't blame the guy. He's been carrying this team his entire career and he only gone so far as the playoffs. There's been a lot of hope back then when he teamed up with boogie but we all know things didn't work out well then. Any superstar of AD's caliber would want to seriously contend for a title of course.
1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the 1st thing you'll do if you win Megah Moolah's jackpot? on: January 28, 2019, 04:08:16 PM
I'd probably start a million dollar business, travel the world in the company of beautiful sexy models, raise a charitable instituion, get married, raise and secure my own family and then run for president. 😁😁😁
1168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Want to be a profitable gambler? on: January 28, 2019, 04:05:32 PM
So if it is profitable why do you sell your secret  Smiley

Just sell everything you have and make more money, why you don't do it?
Totally in agreement with you also, there should be a proof of your bet histories for you to have more buyers into the packages you sell. Things like this has happened before now were investors money were lost along when placing bet with inaccurate ODDS, so, please get start with proof of your betting skills or history.
The statement like, invest to me $1 and you will earn $100 in one week.
Even if there’s a proof it is still hard to believe not unless you experience it but this one is really risky. If there’s a way in gambling to be more profitable, gamblers will discover it and share it without any cost.

Well i'm pretty sure i have enough knowledge about the sport that interest me when i make a bet so i'd likely make a profitable one whether for short or long term. I don't think there's much into it. Know the sport, the stats, the current happenings and you can play with better probabilities.
1169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan analysts predict continuous sinking on BTC prices on: January 28, 2019, 03:55:00 PM
JP Morgan is used to manipulating classic exchanges. I think they're trying the same thing on crypto coins. Unfortunately, the crypto money market is also suits.

Well i wouldn't expect them to make statements in favor of crypto anyways. These bankers of course would have to look after their own. Jp morgan has done this kind of stunt a lot of times in the past, nothing really special about the most recent fud-inspiring statement.
1170  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are Your Coins Safe on: January 28, 2019, 03:47:53 PM
Well it would take miners a couple of more years to mine the remaining bitcoins so i doubt any hacker would have the capability to do that overnight on any network, be it eth or even tron. They can try though hacking exchanges which will compromise a lot of people's accounts and assets. Personal assets should be well secured if it's in a hard wallet so it's up to the user on how safe they wanna get.
1171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John Mcafee on: January 28, 2019, 03:44:06 PM
I would like to hear your thoughts on John Mcafee.  Do you respect him and do you believe he has done more harm or good for the crypto world?

he's a freak for sure but an entertaining one at that

Entertaining indeed. The guy has a good knack for humor and his projected arrogance can really annoy a lot of people but i think he's a thinking guy. I don't really believe he's serious about eating up his own dick live but probably just wants to show his confidence in the technology. Exaggerating would be the word to describe it.
1172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How good were you at understanding Bitcoin tech before investing in it? on: January 28, 2019, 03:35:31 PM
It's really hard to keep up with the cryptocurrency development even for a programmer. Every coin is trying to introduce a lot of new terms to show you how innovative it is. But in many cases it turns out to be just another vaporware. And at the end of the day you see that you've waisted your time for nothing.

How many books did you read / how many courses did you complete before you started investing in Bitcoin? Can you honestly say: do you really have the time to keep up with the crypto world or at some point you just started to believe in tech instead of trying to grasp every single crypto feature?

I am not understand about programming or creating a node but i am understand that bitcoin is transparant distribution ledger and its hard to hack on transaction data. Its almost impossible to duplicate the transaction and i think its good for long term.

Well for me i didn't. Just read a few articles and forums and then managed to stumble upon btc talk back in the days, got in a signature campaign and pretty much learned most i know now. I'll admit i still have a lot to learn but i'm pretty aware of what bitcoin is, and what it aims to do, and where it is now, and where it's going. Not really interested in all the confusing technicalities.
1173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin collapse by a global government crackdown? on: January 28, 2019, 01:56:30 PM
With all the buzz lately of governments cracking down on cryptocurrencies, there has been fear among people with regards to Bitcoin and altcoins. This is one of the many reasons why 2018 experienced a sharp decline in the value of the whole crypto market, leaving many wonder the outcome of a complete government crackdown towards Bitcoin and other cryptos in the future.

As such, what do you think will happen with Bitcoin if all the governments of the world ban it? Will it collapse after the massive crackdown on every single cryptocurrency? Or will it survive? AFAIK, Bitcoin is largely dependent on nodes distributed geographically. The Internet is controlled by ISPs which are subject to government demands. If a global government crackdown happens, then the growth of Bitcoin and other cryptos might stale for sure.

Nonetheless, what are your thoughts about this? Huh
Survive maybe yes, but what need to concerned is if they ban exchangers all over this world. It means we can't trade it or maybe exchange it into fiat anymore. And then maybe P2P transaction will come, but will a little hard to decide how many price of it.

Nah! I'm sure it'll collapse. Anything that get's illegalized by all governments in the world will not survive a global crackdown. Even p2p transactions would dwindle and eventually fail since few will have the confidence to deal with an illegal currency.
1174  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $10 million? on: January 28, 2019, 01:53:26 PM
These guys say that if there's another global economic crisis like there was in 2008 that the price of Bitcoin can go through the roof:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nShdlDc2B6M
I disagree with the value of $ 10 million, that is too much in my opinion and it will not be possible even though there is an economic crisis like that, it is difficult for me to believe if it breaks such a fantastic price

Lol. Even a million seems quite impossible. Not trying to be a pessimist since i know all of us would want btc to reach that price but come on let's be realistic lol. If ever it did, old john mcaffee would be president of the united states 🤣
1175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is Adopted what happen to ilerate population(stone age people) on: January 28, 2019, 01:44:07 PM
In this I see the main problem of the idea of bitcoin as a global single world currency. A fairly large percentage of the population, especially in the third world, is illiterate and lacks technology. And the use of bitcoin as a currency will cause them difficulties. But I do not think that this will be a serious obstacle to the development of bitcoin, just not all countries will accept it.

I agree

It will cause them difficulties in so far as the technology as in wifi or internet
coverage and aquiring at least a smartphone. It is still easy to own bitcoin
without knowing the technical stuff behind it.

Ilerate people can still learn how to do things, powering on, downloading
an electrum wallet and send/receive funds on a smartphone is not
complicated.

I really cannot see bitcoin as a global single world currency, not in my
lifetime anyway.

Well of course time should be into consideration. Fiat, and the use of credit or debit cards, as well all know is well is use in today's society and it likely went to this stage also. Though a little bit more complicated, with time and exposure i think even those in third world countries will eventually learn how to use  it. The length of time for that now is an entirely different discussion.
1176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin with capital "B" and bitcoins with lowercase "b" on: January 28, 2019, 01:39:23 PM
Bitcoin with capital "B" and bitcoin with lowercase "b"; i have always wanted to learn the difference between them but was not certified when i came across them. Sometimes on this forum i will used them based on the way OP used them to frame my post but now i have realize when to use the "B"(Bitcoin)  and the "b"(bitcoin) thanks for the share...

So it's basically Bitcoin as tech and bitcoin as currency.
bitcoins as currency. 🙂
Thanks for the info, I never gave it much thought! I'll try to follow the rule from now on. However, I think that we can write "bitcoin" as well, it's not always plural. For example, I received 1 bitcoin from a friend before, not Bitcoin, right?
I am also wondering whether we have to write the abbreviation only with capitalized letters (BTC, not btc) or it does not matter. And another thing is whether similar is true for other names of cryptocurrencies. While it seems logical that this should hold for LTC, for instance, I am not sure about Ethereum. We don't even use it in plural, right? "ethereums" sounds too weird to be right.

Lol. That made it a little more interesting as i also haven't paid attention to the use of a capital and lowercase "B". But it makes sense. Or probably i just base it on how the term is being used by the person pertaining to it.
1177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your most common uses for cryptocurrencies? on: January 28, 2019, 01:35:50 PM
for me, I use bitcoin or other cryptocurrency just for investment or trading. For investment, I usually buy BTC and will hold it for 5-10 years, but this way is very risky because the price of bitcoin tends to be unstable.
All investmnts can be risky due to the prices being unstable so this is not just for bitcoin investment. But this is still the most common use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. But there are also many people who use them for transactions such as to pay for things, so there is some use as acual currencies and not just for investment or trading.

Well i doubt there are more use aside from these reasons. For now that is. Yeah there are actual transactional use for bitcoin and crypto for now but it's not that widespread basically because of it being extremely volatile. That's just how simply i see it.
1178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please DON'T pay any taxes on your crypto! on: January 28, 2019, 01:33:07 PM
This thinking is one of the reason why many governments are still against cryptocurrencies. Better keep this advice to yourself, someone in another country might get jail time and penalties for following this

There may come a time when we'll have no choice. You see the trend of exchanges requiring kyc now? It'll be less anonymous and there will be a way for the government to pinpoint you if needed be. Though it'll also be another layer of security. If taxes are going to be used in a progressive way anyways i don't mind paying.
1179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another ETF proposal : Bitwise on: January 28, 2019, 01:28:23 PM
I don't think too serious now about ETF because we see it's rejected by many times and I don't know what will happen later. I think we are enough for seeing another rejected of ETF and so far, we are fine with that. We wouldn't have any problem even if ETF rejected again. I think people now have been busy to recover their losses than to just thinking and waiting for ETF approval. But I am curious what will happen if ETF is approved, and how the market will react later.
Me too. I'm expecting a partial recovery if ever it does get approved since a lot of people, probably new investors, would see that as a good sign and get the confidence to jump in. But i doubt there will be any approvals soon. Probably not in the first quarter of this year.
1180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thank you Bitcoin on: January 26, 2019, 03:21:13 PM
Well well that's something to lift the spirit up. And i'm sure you're not the only one who benefitted from working hard on campaigns and bounties. I guess it's how you really look at things on a positive note. Considering that you made funding i  2018 where most of us are whining about how we lost money and complaining about the market. Good job dude.
