1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am now a multi millionaire because of NEM XEM on: May 22, 2017, 03:30:42 PM
Congratulations, I will not ask for proof like others are doing. Maybe you have gotten your nem free when they were giving free nem. Good thing you hold on them unlike others who lost their nem and now regretting it. Just use your wealth wisely.
1182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it worth buying bitcoins now? (2000$ /btc) on: May 22, 2017, 03:07:46 PM
There is no right answer to this question. If we say now and the price drops, then you lost. But if we say wait for a drop and the price never drops then  you lost precious opportunity. You should follow what your heart tells you and what you believe will happen to bitcoin so there will be no one to blame when things turn bad.
1183  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Become trader, exchanger or both ? on: May 22, 2017, 03:01:42 PM
Does exchanger means running an exchange business where you cater customers who want to buy or sell bitcoin to you? If so, this is a very profitable business once you established a good reputation and have repeat customers. It may be hard at first but I think this will be a more profitable business in the long run than becoming a trader which may involve more risk.

1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: May 22, 2017, 02:17:32 PM
What a comeback! I think that's the biggest deficit that able to cut down and eventually won the match on playoff history. Cavs just too over confident on that match. They think they can sweep the series. Well, Celtics trailed by 2 games to 0 against Chicago. Both games are on their turf. But they comeback and defeat Chicago on their turf too and able to tie the series. That's what i want to see on this series.

It was a different story. Chicago lost rondo due to an injury. The cavs are all healthy and they are better team. What was lacking in this game was lebron's presence. He is not as aggressive as he was in the first two game. Maybe he is resting or another reason. But if he gets back to his aggressive game play, I doubt celtics could win a game.
1185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In terms of acceptance of bitcoins... on: May 21, 2017, 04:14:39 PM
I am sure they can understand the concept of bitcoin right now but they cannot use it in place of fiat yet because of scaling problems. Maybe if ever this problem will be solved someday, others will be more open in using bitcoin. It is hard to use bitcoin in place of fiat when you have to wait for long confirmation time or pay high fees.
1186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fees are crazy, 420 satoshis/byte, WHY? on: May 20, 2017, 09:49:42 AM
They say that the fees are high because of spam attacks, but this just shows that if bitcoin gets more attention and transaction, it will not be able to handle it well. Spam attack or not, the fees are going to bloat more and more as more transactions are not being confirmed. We need to scale now but miners don't want to give up their large earning due to large fees yet.
1187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to deal with the situation of non-recognition? on: May 20, 2017, 09:18:32 AM
It was worse a few years ago. Bitcoin was labeled money for illegal transactions only. Slowly over the years, that has changed and countries are starting to recognize bitcoin. Now, if your friends believe those fud news, then let them be. You know better.
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's wonder a little. The year is 2057. on: May 20, 2017, 05:46:45 AM
I cannot imagine too far ahead in the future because I am not even sure if I am still alive by then. War could have broke and bitcoin or money does not matter anymore. Or bitcoin could be the  major currency and my grandchildren are lucky because I hoarded early. It does not matter, what matters is I use bitcoin today so I can live by the moment.
1189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Creeping Towards $2000. Party in Miami if so! on: May 20, 2017, 05:28:17 AM
It is just 25$ to 2000, if you have been a hodler ever since, even if you are not in miami, you would be partying. I am not that much of a hodler but I am happy that bitcoin is still gaining even with some problems holding it back.
1190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: May 18, 2017, 06:04:27 PM
I really dont see any way where Celtics can win against the Cavaliers with the exception of key Cavaliers players getting injured which may be unlikely, as long as the King is around and with support from Kevin Lover and Irvine Cavaliers are assured a victory.

So am I. The cavaliers are well rested and healthy. They have very good players and in my opinion, the team is already overpowered. Celtics may have the top seed after the regular season but it is just because the cavs rested their key players on the ending of the season. It may not be a sweep but the cavs are definitely going to the finals.
1191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WOW!!! New Record 200622 Unconfirmed Transactions on: May 18, 2017, 05:47:44 PM
my last transaction paid .46 and took 2 days. how much worse is it going to get?

It always get worse before it gets better. Hopefully the miners realize what they are to doing to bitcoin is bad and may result to bitcoin dying so they can activate whatever they need to activate to get out of this mess.
1192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Purchases on: May 18, 2017, 05:40:42 PM
It is not a good idea to spend them right now If you are just going to use them for small purchase because of high fees and high confirmation time. So the best move right now is to HODL your bitcoins and wait for the time when segwit or if other scaling solution is activated. If it happens, the price will soar and you can easily spend your bitcoin. Just be sure to keep them safe always.
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0.85 transaction fee is absolutely ridiculous! on: May 18, 2017, 04:17:21 PM
The fees seemingly need to be pegged to a USD amount, or at least the protocol should be aware of the value of USD, respective bitcoin. I say this not to extol the supremacy of the dollar, but to peg the fees to a reasonable marker. USD is ubiquitous and already somewhat of a global standard. I love bitcoin going to the moon, but it sucks that the fees had to come along too Wink

It should have not if the mem pool have less unconfirmed transactions. Though there are lots of legit transactions, there is also a spam attack that is causing unconfirmed transactions to pile up. And now, the only solution to be confirmed faster is high fees. SO the fee keeps bloating.
1194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If BTC really survives over the next days... on: May 18, 2017, 09:30:39 AM
Bitcoin have a large problem in its hands but the ones who have the power to solve it is sitting on the solution just to earn more money. It is bad, it can kill bitcoin, and only time can tell if they will allow it to happen or not. Fees will continue to bloat as more people get into bitcoin and they will get tired of either paying high fees or waiting for confirmation. Either way, the solution is there, but users can implement. Only miners can. So bitcoin's fate is in their hands.
1195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are paying miners $5000, undeservedly on: May 18, 2017, 08:51:54 AM
i've just realized that the amount of total fee that we are paying miners because of the size of mempool these days has exceeded 2.5BTC and is nearing 3BTC.
that is about $5000 that miners are receiving undeservedly just because they are not adopting the scaling solution!

that is 24% of what they gain from block reward (12.5BTC=$2200)

People continue to put money into bitcoin even when miners are blocking the upgrade, transaction continue to pile up and fees are increase and people continue to pay for it.

Market is rewarding miners for blocking scaling, so I guess bitcoin is fine as it is.

If price and transactions start falling then, maybe, it's time for upgrade and miners will finally do it, but they have no good reason to do it when price is increasing.

We just hope they don't kill bitcoin before they start realizing that they have to act on it. Old and regular users are already frustrated with this and newbies are getting turned off waiting for confirmation.
1196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will "WannaCry" attacks bode ill for BTC? on: May 18, 2017, 06:20:03 AM
Bitcoin was regarded as money for illegal activities a long time ago. Yet bitcoin endured and look at it right now. People are finally seeing the use of bitcoin.wannacry using bitcoin as payment method will not anymore damage to bitcoin.
1197  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would you do if Bitcoin price crashes? on: May 17, 2017, 03:02:55 PM
The same thing I am doing now, earning more bitcoin. It crashed before and recovered, it can recover again if ever it crashes again. There is no doubt that bitcoin can recover from large crash.
1198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WOW!!! New Record 200622 Unconfirmed Transactions on: May 17, 2017, 02:49:50 PM
Now it has 191k unconfirmed transactions. The numbers are getting low.
https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

I think miners are doing their best to confirm all the transactions.

Don't we need more miners to solve this issue?

More miners does not mean faster transactions. It is still the same block size so the competition to mine a block will just grow but the speed will remain the same. The solution is either bu or segwit, but miners do not want to come into consensus, they are enjoying the high fees.
1199  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: May 11, 2017, 03:53:43 AM
The answer depends on your goals and your financial situation. Personally, I prefer taking my money and trying to make it grow by buying things I think will increase in value. I've recently invested all my money in real estate. To minimize risks, I hired a Realestate lawyer .

yes i agree with you. it really depends on your perspective in life. we should invest in assets that appraise its value like land/lots and jewelries. we also need to save money for emergency purposes.
1200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japanese Internet Giant GMO is Launching a New Bitcoin Exchange on: May 10, 2017, 07:00:05 PM
I hope this one have better security and cannot be hacked or else we are just adding new problems to exchanges getting emptied by hacker. Japan is really getting into bitcoin and this is good news to crypto users.
