341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2018 governaments will regulate cripto? on: January 06, 2018, 03:23:11 PM
Maybe much nearer to truth than the previous years. More are noticing bitcoin and this could lead to more government noticing and regulating or banning bitcoin. Anyway, I think it is better if there are some kind of regulation for bitcoin and crypto in general.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why CAPP is gonna moon... x5 in the next weeks? on: January 06, 2018, 02:22:30 PM
Bought some capp today, I hope this project truly sky rockets in the future. Also joined the telegram group and I can really tell that the admins and the devs are very helpful and active. This project have great potential.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Urgent news: China is shutting down cryptomining on: January 06, 2018, 12:53:05 PM
Oh this wont be pretty for Bitcoin and Ethereum. Chinese miners and mining pools make up for a big portion of the network. Regulation have now begun.

RIP Bitcoin

The effect seems different from what you expected. The price pumped in the last 24 hours. It seems that the crypto community is already tired of hearing FUD news coming from China. It has no effect anymore.

Anyway, if ever its true there is ample enough miners coming from other countries to cover what will be lost.
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just saw this Etherdelta news, how you guys think?? RIP?? on: January 06, 2018, 06:32:50 AM
Story deleted now from Medium, we have better exchanges there so thanks to ED, and yes RIP Etherdelta.

Got too many negative comments, I think. Bad decisions after bad decisions coming from the new CEO. He bought a good product and destroyed it. Goodbye ED.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have $4,000 to invest. on: January 05, 2018, 11:04:51 PM
I have $4,000 to invest in altcoins . I’m looking to initially invest for the short-term to boost up my money by mid year or sooner then go for a long-term invest after that. Any suggestions on which coins for the short term? long term?

Are you in for a utility token under ETH blockchain? You can check CAPP currently trading in Cryptopia. It still very low in price and the dev have great plans and very active on this project. This have high potential.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most reliable and low trx fee currency on: January 05, 2018, 06:46:37 PM
I'm trying to move from Bitcoin to another good currency, Bitcoin sucks now, unconfirmed transaction for weeks. Which currency is most reliable with low trx fee and fastest confirmations,

Ethereum, Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash?

Or any other?

Ethereum is fast but lately it is also suffering from delayed confirmation and the gas price is starting to hike as well. If you have not tried NEM, it is a good substitute. It has fast confirmation time and transaction fee is still very low.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let`s discuss platforms for creating tokens. on: January 05, 2018, 04:52:18 PM
Let this topic be a kind of sociological survey.
Which platform do you think is better? Does  first place belong to the Ethereum? What do you think about Waves? Can tokens be generated on Ripple?

Another blockchain taking a slice on that category is NEM. Lately there are growing numbers of ICO using NEM blockchain like xarcade, loyalcoin and coinpoker. And the price of the its coin is also on a steady rise. If there is a coin that can compete on ETH on this category, it would be XEM.

350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fees on: December 15, 2017, 05:44:50 PM
Apologize if this issue was already addressed but I currently use coinbase to buy, sell, etc bitcoin. I havent used the site in a bit. I bought BC today, tried to send and there was a ridiculous fee. I was wondering if anyone knew another source for BC with low fees.

TY

Unfortunately, it is almost the same with every platform especially the top exchanges. High fees ensure that your tx will be confirmed at the fastest possible time. You can try binance. I think the withdrawal fee for it is 0.0005. That is the lowest I think.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Regret! on: December 15, 2017, 01:19:04 PM
Does anyone else regret that hasn't invested in certain Altcoins that now rose 400-800%? Because I regret it a lot. :|

That would be bitcoin, but on altcoin, it would be ETH. I have known ETH when it was only a few satoshis in price but I ignore it. Now it is at 660$, I could have made thousands of dollars in profit. But that has always been in crypto, it is hard to tell which one will profit multiple folds in the future. Now, I am invested in NEM while it is still a few cents in price. I hope it would be big in the future.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins for illegal activity on: December 14, 2017, 08:11:29 AM
From recent news in India it is heard that bitcoins are used to sell drugs..I know its a currency and it is also used as a normal money... but these can create a bad space in people's mind that bitcoins are used to sell drugs..so they will not use bitcoins... Conclusion is that BTC is also a currency which is having a high value in the market..and bitcoins must not be used in these illegal activity which can reduce its usage and value.

Bitcoin has been used in many illegal activities and once the currency for silk road. But that does not diminish its value as a currency. It is the same as your dollar or any fiat. It can be used in both legal and illegal activities but it is not the fault of bitcoin. It is within the user's responsibility which ever activity he wants to use the currency, whether it is bitcoin or regular fiat.
353  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Bitcoin be ban? on: December 13, 2017, 08:18:15 AM
Can Bitcoin be ban?

Yes, bitcoin can be banned by a government or a country. But the real question is, is banning bitcoin an effective way to stop the usage of bitcoin? The answer is no. It's access is through the internet and so users can easily avoid or make a loop around the ban.
354  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Stabilizing At $20K on: December 12, 2017, 07:22:48 AM
I think there will still be investors even if the price of bitcoin become stable. It can be traded with different alt-coins, and you can still make a lot of profit from that. Even if you cannot make money directly from bitcoin because it does not surge anymore, you can still make a lot of money from pairs like eth/btc, ltc/btc or xem/btc.

And maybe more businesses will trust bitcoin and accept it is as a major mode of payment.
355  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Huge price differences in trading. on: December 10, 2017, 12:36:31 PM
Bitcoin is 13.5K in kraken, but over 15k in coinbase. If you have access to both, there is a huge opportunity I think. It is13250 in bitstamp, and 14.5K in cex.io
Does anyone know why the huge price difference? And how come nobody is doing arbitraj?

This is a huge difference and can be good for arbitrage trading, but the problem is the transfer time that you have to take transferring money and bitcoin back and fort these exchanges. You can do it if you have USDT and Bitcoin in all these exchanges but I doubt many of us have that. Maybe there is very few person who actually have money across these exchanges.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how long have you been holding for? on: December 10, 2017, 08:02:05 AM
How long have you been holding your bitcoin for so far?

Unfortunately I sold my bitcoin when it hit 10K, so sad for me. I lost almost 90% profit because I sold early. Now I am waiting for the price to drop so I can buy back but there is no sign that it will drop to below 10K. Anyway, if I earn bitcoin, i'll hold up to 20K, no matter how long it takes.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop buying Bitcoin! on: December 09, 2017, 12:41:42 PM
You guys should stop buying Bitcoin - how am I going to fatten my wallet if the price keeps rocketing up?

You should have fattened your wallet when bitcoin was still very cheap. It is not too late though, you can still fatten it though slower than it could have been a year ago.

What are we going to do when the Satoshi achieves parity with the dollar? Smiley

I don't buy bitcoin anymore. It's the time we spend our bitcoin. I'll buy a lambo I guess. I hope it happens.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should i buy ethereum with all of my money ? on: December 08, 2017, 07:58:44 AM
i see the future. ether will be 1k$ in 2018.  Cool

You can see the future, why are you still asking?

I won't put all my money on anything. I always follow diversification in my investments. Whether it is stocks or crypto-currency, I always lower my risk by putting my money on different investment instrument.

Of course, it is different for you, you already saw it. So, go ahead. It's your money anyway.
359  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has turned into a scam coin on: December 07, 2017, 04:52:40 PM
Currently its over 15550 USD The transactions on bitcoin network is taking me more then 24 hours no wonder the price is going up its a ponzi scheme and because its slow people are locked as they are not able to trade it
ITS just a shit coin with a hype on it. Exchangers Being Hacked Many sites having problem sending and receiving bitcoins How is this even the future. There are many other coins which has fastest transactions this is just a gimmick
BTCig shit

That is your opinion. You are free to dump your bitcoins as you wish if you really think that bitcoin is a scam. There are lots of people here willing to take it out of your hand.

We cannot deny that bitcoin has big problems on confirmation time and transaction fees. It has been a lingering problem since the volume of users started to come up (sometimes just scam tx bloating the mempool). It is a problem the devs should solve. But it is definitely not a scam.
