Nope!  How do you power 2 s7 hash boards with only 800W when each board will want >433 watts?? Epic fail here...
1182  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: antminer s7 psu 1300 watt on: February 08, 2017, 12:43:22 AM
Cheers, and good luck to you!
1183  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: antminer s7 psu 1300 watt on: February 08, 2017, 12:33:33 AM
Bare minimum, yes. While many feel ok running a psu @ 80% or so of max rating, I personally don't.  I prefer running about 60-70% of max rated output for a couple reasons.  First, the total power rating of the psu will include not only the 12V we're interested in, but also the 5V rail which isn't insignificant. Second, you tend to hit the sweet spot in efficiency around 60% of max output. And third, if you're not red-lining the power it tends to run cooler and longer before possible failure.
Just my .02BTC, but I am a German born engineer, so take that for what it's worth...  Wink

Neither option is good.  Get a single 1600W unit, it will barely survive 24/7 grinding of an s7 miner.

All are testament to why you shouldn't mine if you don't understand watts/amps/wire gauge...   Roll Eyes

Yeah, it's easy.  Look for something like this: http://shallowsky.com/arduino/class/buzzer.jpg on the control board.  Small drop of glue in the hole and it's nice and quiet...  well, at least the beeper will be!
1189  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain New Miner S7-LN 2.7T @697W discussion (Not official) on: February 03, 2017, 05:21:03 PM
Is there a way to disable the beeping sound when the miner loses internet connectivity?
a little crazy-glue in the hole will quiet that piezo right up!

Nice, phil! Great idea for picks, when do the picks open/close?  Here's hoping you get >.280BTC!!  Wink
1191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MINING and MY LAPTOP crashes when I plug the laptop into the mains to recharge on: February 02, 2017, 07:26:45 PM
I'd look at your power settings, in particular any settings that are different between running on battery versus running on the mains, perhaps video processing related.  Something there is probably changing when you plug in and that is causing a crash for some reason.
1192  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Help me create an r4 contest what breaks next . on: February 01, 2017, 06:38:27 PM
Right on, phil, totally a lemons into lemonade deal!  Cool
Tricky coming up with guess options, c'mon guys how can we help phil make this work?  Huh

Perhaps block height + which R4 between the diff changes, then resets?

In the iPhone app, I input my username and api key; however, under the workers tab, it still says no workers?

The Android kano ckpool app is reporting back correctly, and that uses the API.  No difference seen here.
1195  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer R4 - dead hash board? Shitty design, read before you send it back on: February 01, 2017, 02:41:06 AM
Doubtful... no need to ascribe to conspiracy that which can more easily be explained by mere incompetence.     Cheesy
I believe notfuzzy's got it right, leftover fluff from ramshackle processing. A shame, really.
1196  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is safe to install this custom firmware in my S9? on: January 31, 2017, 03:21:06 PM
It's been well documented that there are major differences between the S9 hardware that can and cannot run the the non-autotune FW.  If you want to brick your newer units (after Oct. 1) then by all means go for it.  However, I suspect the customer (service) guy knows what he's talking about and I'd just leave it.  As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

A double block Tuesday!!
Indeed, so far a two-fer tuesday! Cheers blockmines for cracking another block, juicy one with lots of fees!!  Grin

Sounds right to me, and you said there's a 20A breaker on it so if you tried to draw 30A it would just shut down, no house fires!  Wink

Block by cryptifi!
Nice, first block by cryptify on the acclaim board! That's cripticalifragilistic!!  Cheesy
See, set and forget!
Mine on!

Looks like a NEMA 6-15 or 6-30, which is a 15A 250V AC socket, or 30A 250V AC socket respectively. Your image, however, if you look closely shows the socket labeled as 20A 250V...  Huh
In either case, the plug is a NEMA 6-15 or 6-30. If you get the NEMA 6-20 plug which is rated 20A 250V one of the blades will be rotated 90 degrees and won't fit the socket.
Clear as mud, right? Search the NEMA straight blade reference chart and you'll see what I mean.
