It allows us to have some rough approximation of the value of A as measured in B, or C in D, or E in F.
Fill these variables in with the most ridiculous things you can think of.

hey what did i miss http://myrcraft.com/xmr.htmlwhat will happen 2 hour later on xmr ? This hard fork for what , about fee or another privacy on tor ? Confidential transactions. Essentially observers of the blockchain not only will be unable to determine the sender and the recipient, after this fork they will also have no way of knowing the amount of monero sent in each transaction. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) The privacy was "good enough" before, now its just... bananas.
|
|
|
Cute but other people have to store those transactions for all eternity. Y'know, I just shrank the blockchain by 50% in v0.10. I think we can afford to splurge a bit here. I was just saying to my wife. I don't think I have ever seen a blockchain shrink since I've been involved in crypto. It's like this thing everyone always talks about but no one ever sees. It's a unicorn and here it is in monero, re-affirming why I am so heavily invested in this amazing project. You sir are a legend.

ETH will probably limp along for years like litecoin. It will be usurped for #2 by monero at some point though. Probably will hang out at #3 for a long time before someone brings a successful scalability focused crypto currency to market. At which time said project might surpass monero too.
Haha, can't tell if you are joking, Eth has the most active 3rd party developer group I've seen in crypto (along with plans to scale). Litecoin literally has zero developer activity. If Monero succeeds in becoming the defacto anonymous crypto (on dark markets), it will be targeted and banned across the world, taking heat off BTC. I would say Eth will pass BTC at some point or just be hacked into oblivion and be worth nothing, but stagnant is the last thing it will become. They abandoned their principles and forked the network. I don't know if that's something you can come back from. I hope it isn't. But I could be wrong.

Bitcoin will die in 2021 when Jinn Labs releases optical processor capable to calculate SHA256D at insane speed. Unlikely. Sure all of the hashing will be concentrated with the people who get these first but that will be temporary and probably nothing bad will happen during that time. If you want to talk about what is going to kill bitcoin it starts with an m and ends with an onero. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Very very nice!!
when do we have the whole code on git hub. There are many developers wanting to see it
are you bitcoiner or developer??? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)
good news for us bitcoiners, ETH dev has released ETC and that has caused people to lose faith for ETH. I am sure they will jump ship again back to BTC
ETH already lost 10% .
What do you guys think , will it be end of ETH being bitcoins biggest rival?

Looks to me like 0180 is a new support level. Buyable here. Anyhow, my cheap XMR line remains 0188 until I recompute.
0180? I see only 0160 and 0155 I see 018 now. .0171 now. Its almost like someone sees these posts and then.... This thread is not relevant for trading impacts i guess. But brave shorters i have to admit. There are at least 2 whales with more than 400 BTC buy power which are not in atm. If they go in, the shorters are in really big trouble. I read about some poor people in the Trollbox which lost everything with their last short. I wouldnt do it but have respect that still some are encouraged enough to go short. If they win, they deserve it even when they play against me ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) (I'm joined the club of holders since now) We should be thanking them. Look at what btc did during its moon shots. Up to 24 dollars down to 2. Up to 1200 down to 200. It was hard or impossable to short bitcoin. This would have been us if it werent for brave shorts that restrained the greed at 0.025 allowing for a reasonable (in crypto terms) and more healthy 50% retracement.

From my point of view it doesn't really matter whether this is a breakout or not. What matters is that eventually it will break out and level up, and I don't want to be caught wrong-footed when that happens.
Call me a moon child if you like, but at least half the sovereign debt outstanding is never going to be repaid. When that fact gets priced in, everything will sell off massively, all counterparty, repository, and fiduciary trust relationship will be called into question. You think you have gold because you own GLD? Hmmmph. Physical wealth safe from lien or seizure, and crypto, are going to be at maximum premium when the bail-ins begin in earnest in Europe. Monero is the safest of all assets in this regard.
I've said before but it's worth repeating. The conservatives will flock to gold and silver and the progressives will flock to crypto. So get ready for those clowns ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) .

I'll just use that new credit card I got. What's one more maxed out credit card?
You are joking right? No. Do I pay off CC or buy more Monero? Obviously buy more Monero. One of the best things I ever did. Less than 2 years ago I was eying the last can of beans on the shelf. Now I have beans and Monero. I'm glad it worked out for you but remember you haven't truly won until you cash in your chips. Maybe it's a good time to take some profit off the table and pay off those high interest loans? This is coming from someone who has never carried a balance of even 1 penny ever in his life so your story terrifies me. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Monero-blockchain-import isn't giving me any feedback as to how far along it is or whether its even working any more at all. I don't know whether to just let it keep going or delete the blockchain and start resyncing from scratch. Is the blockchain bootstrap on the main page of getmonero.org updated to the 0.10.0 format?

0.10.0 is out of testing and is now live?

I have not been able to get my Trezor recognized by electrum or Multibit HD in Windows 10. I have updated firmware and trezor bridge. Strangly enough mytrezor.com works fine, but neither electrum or Multibit recognize the trezor at all, though I do hear the windows usb noise when I plug it in. Can anyone tell me how to get multibit hd to recognize it again, I really don't care about electrum. Thanks
I have found that my trezor is finicky about being utilized by multiple services. For example it will not work with electrum if I have mytrezor.com open. Your problem may be similar to this.

Hey I haven't seen you in forever! Hows it going man? Are you involved in monero? I wasn't aware.

That is so strange. I never would have even guessed there were two standards so similar to each other floating around. This seems dumb. This community should probably just settle on a standard. I may have just done an hours worth of tedious work for nothing.

Does monero mnemonic seed not use the standard bip39 word list?

Pay attention to the buy wall, its a fake. Guess a bot or so. When the current price drops, the wall also drops in the same way. The market is manipulated but i dont know in whose favour.
Probably massive btc whales trying to abandon ship without sending the price to the moon before they can finish ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) *edit* if it is as you say.
