1281  Other / Off-topic / Re: Use note-taking apps on mobile if you don't want to lose your contents on: October 02, 2023, 07:40:21 AM
I have experienced this on several occasions and usually this happens when device is running on low ram or simply some browser won't keep your draft work which is why before hitting the post button I always go for the preview option to avoid losing what I wrote and can access my draft work on any of my devices at a later time.

Use those note-taking applications to store your post content but don't use them to store your password, wallet seed, etc.
Online word counters do a great job too and the best part about them is that this draft information is kept for awhile online provided you don't clear cache or format your device, otherwise thanks for the info Smiley
1282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 02, 2023, 05:13:36 AM
I don't really think they should put much emphasis on a striker, and I don't think they will. They don't have a problem with that at the moment, they bought Bellingham and they haven't missed a beat, he's definitely their best transfer this season, not only does he have great stats but he's a very good player overall, I think he's a great investment
Great investment yes, but if a team finds itself relying on its midfielders for goals and not its strikers then there is a void that needs filling and unfortunately Bazema left that.
Btw what happens when Madrid wants to rest Bellingham because of playing too many games, then we are saying Madrid will automatically drop points which shouldn't be the case!

I started to think that Kroos should stay at Real Madrid for 1-2 more seasons at least. He is still a useful player for the team now. Besides he isn't as old as Modric at the moment. Modric is 38 years old now so it would be the right decision to part ways with him at the end of the season. But Kroos should play a little longer.
Kroos is ~33 years old for crying out loud, are we saying these guys should now all be chasing 40 years just because some greats did it , No!
If this is allowed to happen then when do the young stars from Academy Football get a chance to play?? Honestly, with the few years to his name, he better be thinking of a handsome retirement package that can come from Saudi Arabia for starters...

1283  Other / Meta / Re: How to check post bursting through ninjastic space on: October 01, 2023, 09:36:12 PM
I guess, post bursting implies not only a short period of time between posts, but also a short length of the post itself.
Post bursting has always meant posting successively without a cool off/ timeout especially if it is 3 or more most all down under 5-10 minutes especially if it's meant to reach weekly quota of sig requirement & also falls out of your usual posting style!
Btw, anything to do with the length of a post usually implies quality subject to a campaign manager's interpretation especially if it's in line with sigs.

I'm waiting for the reply of icopress. I'm curious as to how he uses ninjastic space to check for burst posting.
Eagerly waiting for this one too, but probably CM looks for a spike in the last 7 days of the graph and analyses these posts for any possible burst posting Roll Eyes

1284  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: October 01, 2023, 08:39:53 PM
Since I know cryptocurrency my biggest fear is to lost all my capital or large amounts in trading or investment, because of the fear in me I don't do things that I'm not sure of or things I don't know.
Afaik Fear of the unknown is a very normal thing for any human being, so worry not buddy Smiley...

But when you refer to losing all capital because of trading, then you are probably pro trading with leverage which isn't advisable if one hasn't shapened their strategy to be on the profitable side of this journey... so to minimise such risk best to buy and hodl and forget about losing your capital to small price dips.

If beginners allows their fear to motivate them to learn first their won't be drastic lose in trading.

Tbh, the best way to find motivation is to find a working strategy that you have tried and tested and are happy with the results, otherwise going in blindly is guaranteeing oneself of failure....good thing fear pushes many of us to do the uncomfortable stuff and this includes learning new skills Smiley
1285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: October 01, 2023, 02:51:01 PM
Let's take a moment to think about this and tell me if I am correct. All of the people whom I have observed getting banned from gambling at casinos by the casino management, aside from misconduct and other offenses, are individuals who keep winning significant amounts of money.
I kind of agree with this!!
And with several cases that have found themselves in the reputation thread against  casinos/sportsbooks, showing beyond reasonable doubt that winning players always get banned or funds frozen due to the huge wins... sends out a message of winners aren't welcome and it's no coincidence!!
They might not say it like I did, but they hit players with all these flimsy excuses just to try and reduce payouts by offering to give back their deposits and forget about the other coins in trying to reduce their payouts(expenses).

It also reminds me of the story of the Pelayos brothers, who discovered some mathematical imperfections in the physical roulette wheels in casinos, whereby some numbers tended to come up more in the long run, and they bet on it, winning a lot of money. As soon as the casinos realised this, they also banned them, but the brothers took the case to court and won. I can't find a good summary of the story in English but here is something:

The fabulous story of the Pelayos (La fabulosa historia de los Pelayo)
Thought this was written in Spanish and didn't bother opening the link, but this kind of proves that winners are indeed not welcome!!
1286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and gambling which one has done you more harm on: October 01, 2023, 11:49:52 AM
I don't see any connection between gambling and Bitcoin here especially because they serve different purposes...for example you can use Bitcoin to play on your favourite gambling platform by using BTC as your currency and not the other way round.

As far as am concerned this comparison is as good as comparing a vehicle and fuel, one of them can be used by the other and not vice versa which makes this a bad comparison.

For some reason I feel this was a trading vs gambling comparison not until the last second you changed the wording  Roll Eyes
1287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When are we going to see the mempool empty again and 1sat/b confirmations? on: October 01, 2023, 11:03:08 AM
As long as we keep trying to push for adoption, I honestly don't see this happening anytime soon as demand will keep tx fees high...

And to top it off, our exchanges that are very much vital in the crypto ecosystems do put pressure on tx fees as they always want to get tx in the next block by using higher transaction fees which makes this a continuous process that won't allow fees to drop...

But checking mempool we seem to be close to 1sat/b as I have seen this to have dropped from the high fees we used to seeing...which is only possible because  of the weekend, Monday this will go up .

1288  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: SINBAD.IO Mixer September Bitcoin Price Prediction Challenge on: October 01, 2023, 05:51:56 AM
So what's the deal with CMC, does everyone get different prices or what? It's showing 26,940 usd for me at 10am.
This competition is based on the UTC time zone and CMC will show you results dependent on your device's time zone, so to get an accurate reading change device time to UTC/GMT, you are welcome.
1289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: September 30, 2023, 06:45:57 PM
Honestly hodling was so much easy for the first generation investors as it was easy to buy  a whole Bitcoin for say $10, $50 or $200 or perhaps anything less than $1000 without having a mental challenge to forget about these coins for a while...

But with prices playing around 27,000 dollar's today, tbh you can't just buy such an asset and choose to forget about it because this will always be in your back of your head reminding you to always check and see if you can take any small profits and walk away ...otherwise to hodl=big boy/whale's games atm(mental challenge), better yet holding is for the financially disciplined Roll Eyes

So HODLing bitcoin is about mental strength, long-term goals and good financial condition. Without it, I doubt I would be able to HODL
Indeed a great deal of mental preparedness is needed to HODL Bitcoin in both bull and bear market but in all, the level of faith and believe in Bitcoin is what will guide our decision.
mental strength comes easy when you are also financially stable not having to think about your stash..or coins you hodling.
1290  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: SINBAD.IO Mixer September Bitcoin Price Prediction Challenge on: September 30, 2023, 04:48:32 PM

It's different for me. I can see the price was $26954.33
So, the closest is:

$26942 by adbitco,
$27,011.26 by shogun47
$26,885 by Woodie

I could be wrong. But good luck, everyone!
You weren't wrong @Learn Bitcoin Cool
just double checked and the price was indeed $26954.33, my bad my device was 2 hours behind for the UTC TIME ZONE.

1291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs the government on: September 30, 2023, 03:16:30 PM
Government and their fear for Bitcoin!
Bitcoin as a decentralized digital currency that operate without a financial system or without being controlled by the government is really creating panick and fear in most government officials.
They have every reason to be affraid especially that Bitcoin could disrupt the revenue collection that comes from taxes and the alike.

Besides, you know how our goods and services have value added tax for example, with Bitcoin it could mean consumers not paying this in trying to get cheaper items and government losing out on this revenue source which makes them not want to have Bitcoin near them.

The government just want to be in charge of everything, from monitoring your transaction to knowing how much people are worth financially
We might not like these systems, but it's the only way to guarantee that monies are collected to go towards health care, building public infrastructure schools etcetera and having BTC as the main currency I don't think it will be possible to address these necessities.

I feel that governments recently consider digital currency as their friend and are no longer enemies with digital currency, because in my opinion Bitcoin is the only way to fight inflation in the world.
My thought too.

We live in a digital age that has cryptocurrencies very much part of this era and the best the government can do is draw up a legal framework for them...

right in the first game in the pl i put two players from brighton in my squad with Estupinan and Ferguson. hopefully they will bring me enough points Cool
Early Kickoff unacceptable!!!!

Atleast Ferguson won't be hit by the so many goals conceded, but for some of us having a Brighton defence for this gameweek we won't be so lucky...this 6-1 loss will leave a mark and didn't expect such a result regardless of it being an away game, f**k these guys!!!

I knew Brighton were going to be in a lot of trouble today
Wish you gave us the warning signs as am in the negatives lol  Cry

1294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hate speech and it impacts on bitcoin on: September 30, 2023, 06:05:52 AM
I have always thought of Bitcoin being that asset that brings about unity around the globe especially that it operates anywhere and everywhere regardless of it being legal or illegally recognised...and the fact that it's existence is in the lines of financial freedom, my gut tells me anybody hating on Bitcoin is either just not invested into it knowledgewise or they do some shoddy stuff that BTC could expose them for.

Btw, Bitcoin exists in an ecosystem with thousands of other coins/tokens and has maintained a positive relationship with all because of tolerance of opinions , but in terms of hate speech I have not seen it unless things get personal away from crypto.
1295  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does bitcoin price increase after halving? on: September 30, 2023, 05:02:19 AM
The word halving is spreaded everywhere but the occurrence of it is not swear to the fact because as crypto is volatile and unrevealed so same is the reality of its each event. People are accepting bitcoin due to halving and because of this acceptance halving can occur because we know that as more people are buying bitcoin so increase will be cause by this.
Totally agree, halving does have the influence to increase a short term demand as we approach this day but to say "People are accepting Bitcoin due to halving" you lost me here buddy as it sounds like you saying adoption will be happening because of it.

This increase will be for minimum time according to spectators because more people will find the suitable time to sell their bitcoin
This is one of the reasons why actual halving effects take time to be seen, as everyone won't see the prices they thought BTC would jump to because of it and would sell after the halving itself.
So halving will result in a slight drop before the big move, so for this most awaited event people need to think long-term.

I am afraid this might lead to disappointment as we will only see a temporary pump as everyone has a misconception that price will skyrocket post halving or even before halving due to which there would be from demand in the market due to FOMO
True, and its the FOMO before the halving that causes the temporary raise and the disappointment in the small moves that will cause it to drop before the big boys buy off the weak hands who choose to sell post halving to profit from the small gains.
1296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: September 29, 2023, 08:01:38 PM
Gambling addiction is best solved by having gambling budget which is very small to the amount you are earning, like 5% of the 100% you are earning.
Budgets are a good way to manage finances but when it comes to gambling very few people can follow their game plan because emotions come into play and clouds one's judgement,  ego and stubbornness can lead to going off course...sometimes having a string of losses means you don't care about the outcome and end up going in for a double or nothing.

Btw that 5% profit target only works well with a big bankrolls, for the smaller ones it means risking higher amounts to make this small profit...

I am of the opinion that since gambling sites are mostly online and some has adds that pops up as advert on visited site, one should be able to disable or change their browser settings  by blocking casino adds and as well disabling  gambling sites on their browser settings so as not to gain access to it anymore till the number of days they deem fit to their resolve.
This is a great suggestion and these browser companies need to be tasked with this assignment to help curb gambling addiction before more younger people get hooked to this and worse case scenario lead to sucide for losing too much money.

1299  Other / Meta / Re: I Propose A Large Multi-Sub BCT.org section called "The Free Zone": Please Lis.. on: September 29, 2023, 07:06:34 AM
Tbh this proposal sounds like window dressing an existing board called off topic, which is pretty much a freezone that gets bitcoiners talking about anything and everything from there.

Perhaps the solution to get users in the right discussion board was to suggest for a name change  or addition of freezone to  off topic name in an effort to redirect traffic...

Btw in regards to incentive to spam , most boards that managers find not to help in the marketing side of a project are usually excluded, and in cases were a manager can't pick out spam posts...BCT community members do report these directly to the CM and sometimes the mods...I think the safe guard's are working well Roll Eyes
1300  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade only Bitcoin on: September 28, 2023, 11:37:26 PM
Trading is a lifetime skill that is always beneficial if you know what you are doing, the biggest mistake of traders is trading alt that most times doesn't obey market structure
Having losses to one's trading journey is very much normal , even profitable traders do have these...

Secondly, the biggest mistake isn't that Altcoins don't obey market structure but it's the strategy and mostly trading all assets available out there such that you can not master their behaviour...to counter this bad habit as traders we need to limit ourselves to a maximum of 3 assets so that we get a better understanding of price moves and what external factors influence them the most and see your winning rate go up.

when it comes to cryptocurrency, trade only Bitcoin.
Bitcoin doesn't just give you profit, it gives you security, it obeys market structure
This obey market structure line is a no no no for me as this depends on the strategy and not the asset. If you can trade Bitcoin then you can trade anything, be it future's, currencies, etcetera...

so my fellow traders, trade only Bitcoin, I don't know if anyone feel the same way?
Ummh sometimes yes, especially that it reacts well to news and Musk stories...
