1301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 30, 2023, 08:50:14 AM
For a gambler who has experienced winning several times, it will be difficult to get rid of it because of the feelings he felt about gambling in a casino. Casinos have the most magic for players to make you feel and experience winning at a casino.
And when you experience winning, a player may think that it can be a source of income in their life and an answer to their daily expenses, something that they will not notice will be a way to lead them to addiction to it. Which of course is not a good result when that happens.

Gamblers who thought they found a winning strategy will think that way like they can live every day making money through gambling. It can be a problem since it will eventually become an addiction. It doesn't happen all the time but I have seen it firsthand transformed someone who will get out of the house around 10 PM in order to visit a nearby casino.

Addiction I think is also an effect of external problems. My aunt is lonely, her husband is a sailor, and she has money to spend but she keeps thinking her husband is sleeping with someone on the ship. One way to stop addiction is simply to really divert the attention of the addict to something productive to occupy his mind and keep them busy.
1302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 30, 2023, 08:12:11 AM
Because if only Manny Pacquiao can have the same revenues inside the Philippines, then he could've done that already because aside from having the crowd advantage, he will be no longer needed to adjust in a certain country just to train.

That's a good point. He has to travel to the US to get used to the altitude. Making money abroad though he will be taxed by the US law and back to the Philippines, he will also be taxed. A huge pain in the ass.

By the way, Inoue Naoya By KO is 2.07. Could the odd go to worse like 1.50 as the date approaches? Go big or go home kind of opportunity I think since it always going to be a KO with Inoue but this time he is inflating his weight.
1303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your rate in betting base on odds alone? on: June 30, 2023, 07:58:06 AM
How often do you win in Soccer games if you just bet based on odds by picking a team with 1.50 and 1.70?
So far maybe 0%. To be honest I don't bet based on the odds too often, but when I want having fun I definitely do it only with small bets. But all my bet didn't go very well, because my parlay always lost if bet based on odds so far, that's why I wrote 0%. If you make a bet based on odds, my advice is to do it in small amount maybe successful if you bet on single bets. But don't do it, because it's better research first Sir.
I also bet small bets for every game I want to participate in because by placing small bets, I won't lose a lot of money if the team I choose loses. And even though if I win, the money won't be big either, that's okay because betting on sports is just fun. Apart from that, I also don't bet on sports betting too often, only on certain events where I know much about the teams that will compete. It will be safer for me because I don't lose big money, can still wait for the results, and relax while playing slot games as usual.

Betting in small amounts I think is strategic. I did these in Premier League, ITF, Nations League, and Baseball which in a few hours you will know how many wons you got right among the 5 matches you bet on. Just $5 each but of course, you will pick the teams who are favored.

If by a few hours, you profited I guess, then perhaps the odds of the bookmakers are right. I gradually increased the number of matches. Things you do for fun without watching the game actually  Grin
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: June 30, 2023, 07:45:16 AM
Try to know this that gambling ads cannot be banned by any means, we have to know that except the gambling platforms decided to put a stop to them there may not be a means to avoid this incidence at all, the two sides involved in this mostly benefited from it which is the promoting casinos and the promoters themselves, some gamblers also make uses of this to their advantage because they get updates and offerers through this except for those not interested in seeing ads in their experience being online, the forum casinos has nothing to do with this either nor do they get affected by this decision since their own advertisement here is not by ads except for other platforms they also appears.
I believe for some reason, they are against online gambling, I've just read that online gambling or casinos are highly regulated in the country and now they are going to ban online gambling ads within the country, even though they allow casinos that operate under a license but since most gambling casinos that are available online, I'm not sure if they allow them or not and they only allow land-based casinos that are operating under a license.

And it's not true that gambling ads cannot be banned, they can ban them all over the internet and won't allow any service, website, or social networking site to display or run gambling ads within their country, we might think they can't do that but in reality, they can do that pretty easily.

If the country is serious about banning it. But oftentimes, they are all just publications for the public. In reality, these politicians will need a source of funds for the government to run.
China looks serious about it but you can see they are building casinos outside their mainland. The government itself invests in casino buildings everywhere in Asia.

Online can be easier to ban since they can control ISP to do that for the government but then there are just lots of ways to bypass restrictions. So basically it's still for the show.
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Experienced Winning Bets By Upsets on: June 30, 2023, 07:23:53 AM
Maybe for other people, it is a miracle, especially if the goalscorer is not a player who is predicted to be able to put the ball into the goal. It's happened so many times in sports where people's predictions are wrong to guess what will happen, so it's probably a miracle for people. Sometimes the magic can come suddenly without us expecting it, so it can make things change.

Sometimes we can also guess or predict one game wrong but it turns out we can win in the end.
Winning have been our priorities from the very start and its the major reason why we engaged in gambling. Gambling and lacking confidence in that particular game, yet it turns out to be accurate and profitable in the end. That is precisely what keeps most gamblers stimulated, and they are always ready to hit the system. Facts about the space state that when a gambler makes a forecast and it turns out to be correct, even if it is erroneous, they get more confident and begin predicting, believing that their statistics are so exact that they completely disregard luck.

It's very rare for a gambler to predict an underdog to win. Gamblers are always going to look at the dominating team or fighter in order to make money. That's what stimulates gamblers, they don't look at which underdog team will win. No one predicted one great upset in the world cup last year between Argentina vs Saudi Arabia.

Rocky Balboa movie is just a movie but as long as gamblers can still bet in the live match, they will bet as it's one way they can confidently see which team is winning.
1306  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I a bad person if I manage to avoid taxes? (Hypothetical question) on: June 29, 2023, 05:21:12 PM

It must be a dilemma for all since we have been taxed over and over. I feel the same way too but because I'm an employee and my employer already is deducting those taxes from my pay, there is nothing else to do.

So, my legitimate question is, after all the robbery, a person, who doesn't pay taxes, is a bad person for the society or not? More likely I want to get answer from those whose countries have a model similar of European healthcare and employment insurance.

In the eyes of the government, everybody has to contribute. Kind of unfair sometimes with the redundant taxes but that's our duty to our government as we do benefit thru the health cards and infrastructures they built for us to use.
1307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your rate in betting base on odds alone? on: June 29, 2023, 05:06:27 PM
Do you mean betting on the correct goals that are scored in a game, or just betting on a range of goals that could be scored? The first proposition can be quite difficult to predict since you'll lose if you don't accurately predict the exact goal score. On the other hand, if you bet on a range of goals the odds will be lower but your chances of winning will be higher. Which i do the most is simply simply bet on over x.x or under x.x goals.

In some leagues where there are a lot of goals scored weekly, I go for "both teams to score," which has relatively good odds and sometimes, I also bet on corners or cards (yellow/red cards).
He meant easier, so it's most likely the total goals or asian totals in some sportsbooks with the over and under instead of the correct score where you need to be more precise.

If the totals are too high, i'd also check for the BTTS and sometimes pair it with the over since they can boost the odds around -120. Or if it's a one-sided match, i'll take the team totals, it's a good alternative against the asian handicaps but not all sportsbooks have this market.

One-sided match I guess can be a good strategy and finding these by just looking at the odds. I have been trying this for a week and although I made profits but these one-sided matches can sometimes end in an upset.

Which sports do you think this can be done besides soccer? There are only a few games in a day but if there are about 10 matches, the result could be more profitable.
Some bets however are voided, anyone experienced the same?
1308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: North Carolina is pushing forward a bill to study holding Bitcoin on: June 29, 2023, 04:03:40 PM
They may already have some BTC if they are starting to think it's going to benefit the state.
If you have been watching some BTC conspiracy theories behind BlackRock buying BTC, where they are saying that the financial institution is trying to take over crypto. It's not gonna be far fetch that states and countries are also going to be in the race to acquire BTC as well.

What could the purpose of the study after that but to determine whether it's beneficial for the state, Ofc it's beneficial. It's beneficial to an individual and will it be for a state.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zhang Vs Joyce II WBO Interim World Heavyweight Championship on: June 29, 2023, 03:51:14 PM
Not used to seeing Chinese being a boxing champ, very surprising that he once upset a fight against an African American with a 93% KO rate. He must be special. He'll gonna have to prove it twice though. Despite Joyce's loss in their first fight, he is still the favorite in this match.

Was intrigued so I watched their first, though slow Zhang can actually counter but I think it's Joyce's eyes that cause his loss. He was hit over and over in that right eye. If he can avoid that in this 2nd fight, he will be the victor.
1310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much do you think Bitcoin will rise to in the next round of bull market? on: June 29, 2023, 03:17:25 PM

So many speculations about BTC prices from different people online Michael Saylor has his own which is incredibly unbelievable but I don't mind still. One that I watched on youtube was 338K per BTC. While I wish it would happen, I'd have to pinch myself for that coz it's a bit too much of a growth.

Podcasters are very sure that the price will hit more than $100K which I think is more possible actually.  The peakest that I can see is $150K. I think I would be selling it all and expect a dump for a year again.

1311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 28, 2023, 04:35:00 PM
I sort of do because I am not an "addicted gambler". That feels like it means to say I end up losing a lot of money that I can't afford to lose. I understand that I am addicted to gambling, that is a better phrase to say it because it means that I am addicted to gambling but not a gambler.

The difference is that when you talk about a gambler then you usually talk about someone who ends up losing a lot of money and that is why it is not that easy, you end up with becoming broke eventually as well and I do not feel like that would be me. I think it is quite important to see the difference between the two. Yes I do end up gambling and have hard time stopping but at least I am not losing a lot of money and that's the important part.

An addict that doesn't deny they are addicted is a good start to treatment. Unfortunately most addicted to gambling are not very welcoming to the fact that they'd be called gambling addicts.  It is offensive to them.

This applies to a demented guy which is you call his idea crazy, he will not admit it's crazy and he will most likely think you are calling him crazy which he also will find very offensive.
1312  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin pumping when the economy is heading into a recession? on: June 28, 2023, 04:26:21 PM

One thing is for sure. Halving is near.
About the economy heading to recession is another thing I guess. If you have watched some Economics discussions, some of the experts are saying that this recession is a planned recession since Covid. If so then all these layoffs, bankruptcies, and company shutting down is part of the plan.

I'm not an expert on economics but when Blackrock applied for BTC spot ETF, many of its counterparts are also applying for BTC ETF which it is speculated that BTC will also pump up.
1313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: June 28, 2023, 04:07:06 PM
The government may ban gambling advertisements in all media, but that will not stop gambling advertisements from appearing in other media, especially since the spread of the internet is now getting better. Casinos can find a place to promote, and maybe they can further expand their business from a new place.

And if it's true that the ban will be enforced, I don't think it will matter because people will be able to find those gambling ads again or have already found a casino that suits them, so they don't have to look for another one. And I don't think it will impact Bitcointalk because this forum is independent and not bound by anything.

Especially because casinos can contact the webmaster of a websites like a well-known crypto blogs/news which they could buy an adspace or banner on their pages. This had been known to happen especially if they see the blog is commonly viewed by crypt users.

Advertising is a big industry and there are adnetworks pretty much brokering traffic to websites to target audiences that are in their demographics. The government of Australia may implement banning gambling-related ads but the websites can still serve those ads, it's unstoppable.
1314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your rate in betting base on odds alone? on: June 28, 2023, 03:44:01 PM

I'm hoping to make more BTC so the more bets from now on the more chances of winning. I think that's what I'm going to do now before the bull run takes full speed.
Regardless of which game. To me, I bet on Soccer but I seem to have lost every day. How often do you win in Soccer games if you just bet based on odds by picking a team with 1.50 and 1.70?
If you gamble or bet with the target of profit hoping to multiply your BTC, you must be prepared when you lose and lose because not all matches will always win even though basically we can win every match that has gone through in-depth analysis with statistics, everything will end in luck because the seeded team can lose to the underdog it's annoying sometimes.

Gamble with money that you don't need that money because if you want to double you have to be prepared to lose it, because the risk is always there, I bet not always win on weekends sometimes just feel lucky from betting 5 games 2x win and 3x lose so I get a loss, but if I'm lucky out of 5 matches I can win in 5 matches that's good enough. My advice, just use your money to bet with money that you are ready to lose, just save your BTC for future investment. Odds do not guarantee victory, what is important is statistical analysis  Cheesy

I think everyone in sports betting understands the risk already of losing. It is however almost derisked to bet on a team that is close to winning, with fewer profits however but sometimes it ends up losing still, especially in a sport that is highly unpredictable like the MMA sport which one false move of a good fighter makes him lose.

Soccer is almost predictable at some point especially when one team already has gotten 1 point. Before the odds change, I think 1.50 is worth risking.
1315  Economy / Economics / Re: What could Elon Musk be buying next? on: June 28, 2023, 03:24:25 PM
If Mark and Elon really will fight each in the cage, Elon will buy Facebook to retaliate lol But then the price would be too much for risk.  I can only assume he will buy some companies that are related to crypto like Twitter which had been associated with crypto since Dorsey is known to be a Bitcoin user.

Since UFC had also been associated with crypto for its sponsors like Crypto.com and Vechain, it could be his new target. I bet this match-up with Zuckerberg is just to bridge the connection with Dana White in which Elon will have an interest.
1316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Relationship between social media and Bitcoin on: June 28, 2023, 02:52:05 PM

The ICO guys learned all these a long time ago and they have been promoting new projects on social media sites. It's only now that regular people heard of BTC on mainstream media where BTC is now validated as a real investment. Social media serves as a platform for marketing projects.

Most probably most people heard BTC for the first time on social media, not on TV or radio. The generation today doesn't even watch or read news on news sites but on social media.
1317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: June 28, 2023, 01:21:40 PM
This is just in Australia. It wil help younger people not be exposed to casinos. Even google ban gambling related ads and I think facebook as well.  But think if the ban includes the influencers, then influencers on social media will be affected and will lose casino sponsors.

Bitcointalk is different platform for advertising. I doubt it will affect the crypto advertising here. This is a specific crypto community.
1318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gualtieri Vs Falcao Vacant IBF World Middleweight CHAMPIONSHIP July 1 on: June 28, 2023, 01:09:36 PM

Seeing theres not much boxing matches these days, I will still try my luck on this. Falcao it is.
67% KO rate isn't so high to bet for Win By KO though. Gualteri is younger and looks tough too, I will also go for win by decision.

Falcao's face doesn't look like he can snap fast actually lol But its said southpaws always have the advantage.
1319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Let's find out which gambling game is the most played among our community... on: June 28, 2023, 12:57:35 PM

Sportbetting is already winning. I think because gamblers are aware that they don't win on casino games overtime. I use to play dice and Hilo in my early days in Bitcoin, can't remember I win big but kept playing still. But after casinos started having sports, I also shifted as I read threads about people betting on matches.

When they said its hard to rig sports, users also realized it. But dice still is popular to this day.
1320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GALA - realistic bull prediction? on: June 27, 2023, 04:33:17 PM

The token has reached its bottom and the token could still go up in the bull run if it's not going to die. There is just no assurance that it can surpass its ATH. Many tokens behaved this way even the tokens back in 2017 bull run didn't go well in 2021 including the XRP which was constantly being hyped.

If you have to hold, it then hold it. It's all up to you especially if you have it at the price of £0.56, that's terribly a wait for you.
If the supply already is disappointing to you, it's all up to you still.
