Congratulations to Makhachev who has successfully defended his lightweight title and replaced Volk in 2nd place in P4P. I think one of the most iconic moments of the night was when Cormier asked who he wanted to challenge and Islam said "it doesn't matter who it is. Dana gives me an opponent and I'll do my job". That is a very extraordinary answer.

For sure Khabib Nurmagomedov will also say the same the Dagestan fighters will mostly be saying something like this except for Belal Muhhamand sure but yeah Islam Makhachev for sure will fight whoever Dana White gave him, but I think It is now time for Islam Makhachev to move on with a new division and maybe get another belt in the Division for sure maybe going up a division to the Welterweight or maybe going down the Featherweight division,

Belal might refuse to do it. But why not challenge the Baddest Mother fucker title holder Gaethje. They haven't fought yet and he is also in the same division.
I was drawn to Islam screaming Stand for Palestine and then it was censored. They are putting Dana on the spot by doing all this and I think he might not promoting those fighters yet unless the issues die down quickly. People cheered for standing for Palestine but Dave Chappelle was booed.

Damn...  I was about to make the next event's roster and just saw that it's not gonna be this weekend.  :/  But this could be a good opportunity to introduce something new to you guys...  And tbh, I haven't watched a full event of any of any of these.  Lmaooo.  I don't really like it much but I'll give it a chance just this once.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

MMA was opposed back in its early days as it was a brutal contact sport but now it has a worldwide audience. Curious to know how they prepare for slapping competition though.
422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: October 23, 2023, 04:17:37 PM
Early hours of today,  one of the Nigeria billionaire business man E money shared his bet slip online for fans to see how much he splashed on the game between Chelsea vs Asernal which already on and Cheslea leading with 1:0, this brought me to the point of asking what your opinion on celebrities staking higher amount and still be ok to publicly show it and do not feel any thing even if the ticket cut just like what happened to Drake last few weeks back.

I would not say it wrong it's his money anyway, he is known as a billionaire so it's peanut to him there are people who like to flaunt how rich they are because they want to maintain their status as very rich people, and there are people who like to help poor people with their money, that's two sides of rich people, one spending and betting just to show people how rich they are, and another helping people and showing them how blessed they are.

But between the two I pick the latter because they made the world a better place to live, while the other looks down on people and makes them think that he is above everyone.

Both need respect though. People who announce themselves as rich look forward to getting respect from fellow socialites. And most people are actually going to pay respect to them knowing they are successful with whatever business they are into.

Damn sure he has a purpose for posting a slip to the public. Just like those rappers who show off the shiny Blings around their necks, socialites I guess also compete who is richer than the other.

423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone holds 1 bitcoin in 2023, can he call himself rich ? on: October 23, 2023, 03:45:37 PM
If someone holds 1 bitcoin in 2023, can he call himself rich ? If not, how many bitcoins holding is equal to being rich in your opinion ?

1 BTC in my local currency is equivalent to more than 30 million in my local currency and for most Nigerians that’s more than enough for them to be considered rich so I guess you could say that having 1 BTC for some is enough to be called rich.

But there are others that won’t consider themselves rich even if they have a bitcoin in their possession, so everyone has their own opinion and their aim when it comes to wealth and the more you have the money the more you’d want to make more… which means they’ll eventually no longer be satisfied with their BTC and want to make more.

Some could have as low as 0.05 BTC and still think of themselves as been rich it all depends on what they think, what I call “rich” might be “poor” or “average” for some others.

Looks like we found a place to migrate after this coming halving.  You could really spend 1BTC deliberately you can spend it all in 1 hour but with the price to reach $100K, you gonna live comfortably in your country.

Anyway, to OP don't think owning 1BTC is already you being rich. You can only consider yourself rich if you have a constant flow of money. Because you still need to work to make money then it's not something you can rely on.  You best need to invest and put up a business.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ? on: October 22, 2023, 07:08:56 PM
Will you leave gambling if your future wife/husband tells you to do this ?

I mean if it's a deal breaker for them and they won't stay with you over it then yeah if ypu love her/him why wouldn't you?  If gambling is worth more than the one ypu love then you need to check your addiction out and possibly get help.  If it's not an issue in your life then maybe have that conversation with them first to see if there is some possible middle ground like a set dollar amount or something.

For the guys who are fed up with their wives, they will really take this as sort of an opportunity. Heck, some men find gambling to be more entertaining than with their wives who don't even know how to cook omelets.

For housewives who are unsure what their partner would choose they better not ask their husbands to choose whether her or gambling. It's not in his best interest to keep a wife who is not supportive.  Grin

I mean if you are looking for an easy way to leave your significant other than I guess yeah this isn't a bad way lol.  Seriously though I've seen it happen where gambling has gotten the best of people and they've lost someone to it.  If not handled right gambling can be like any other addiction.

Sure an easy way out especially for the men who are experiencing the midlife crisis with no kid to take care of. When there is no reason for the husband to stick around, it's an easy option. But women only ask this kind of question if they are also sure they can stand on their own and have money to support themselves. A career woman who has lots of savings does not need men who are toxic in a relationship.

And if the gambler's money comes from this career woman, the gambler can already expect to be kicked out.
425  Economy / Economics / Re: how businesses swindle the minimum wage employee on: October 22, 2023, 04:58:57 PM

That 1.5 hours is like an employee doing the extra mile to make sure the business still runs after a month and if not, boath the employee and the employer will capsize. Consider it a mutual sacrifice for the employer so that they are both going to make it.

People today are just happy to have a job than evicted from their apartment because of the overdue. They are not going to mind that extra hour and half this time. Unless it means losing a meal if it's not paid.
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: October 22, 2023, 04:26:03 PM
I thinks it’s pretty obnoxious when big time celebrities, athletes, rich billionaires, socialites etc brag about how much money they are throwing down on some of these bets. Especially someone living in an extremely impoverished nation where their money could have gone to much better causes. I am not a fan of this stuff

It's to impress people around him. People with enemies are doing this stuff all the time in order to make their enemies aware that they aren't just someone to mess with. They have to make it known to his enemies that he has money to waste.

Celebrities often want to show off. Having an expensive wheel is like showing success. They gotta make it known because success invites success and they could get endorsements and so on. Showing off that he could bet a huge amount attracts fellow high rollers.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your nice hit to leave the casino. on: October 22, 2023, 03:37:00 PM
As a gambler, from when I leave the house down to the casino prior to getting there I normally project specific amount that should I probably hit am turning around to leave for home immediately. And am quite sure am ain't the only one who have for one  had this plan thought wrapped in his head, some persons might have too.

Just in case, what amount will be looking like a nice hit for you to leave a casino just immediately for maybe your first, second or third hit on the machine as you have just walked in?
I respect that, I really do. You set a target, and when you hit it, you're out. Very excellent decision. I've seen people, good people, who don't have that discipline. They succeed, fail, succeed, succeed, and eventually lose everything. It is a loop that never ends.

Now, to your question... I've been to a lot of casinos, so if I were to stroll into one, let me tell you... I would certainly aim for a 10x return if it were my first hit. I'm out if I put $100 in and make $1,000. Gone. Exactly like that. Why? For that is a victory, a great victory. You also need to know when to leave. The win is more important than merely the money. It's about feeling like you overcame the odds, even if only temporarily. So tell me, do you possess the self-control to secure a victory? Because winners behave in that way. After winning, they go

Since they plan to checkout when they win a certain amount, they may as well have a certain amount in mind to tell themselves to get out when they lose that amount. That I guess can still be called a discipline as well.

Some gamblers may not have the discipline as they also wouldn't want to stop themselves from winning back losses. It's a go big or go home thing. It could be the determination to win or just impulsive gambling that sometimes they tend to pawn their jewelry so they could play again.
428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 22, 2023, 03:00:53 PM
And now the father of Tyson Fury, wanted to go after Mike Tyson.

Quote
"[I'd like to fight] Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson, I’m going to the top of the tree. And he’s a traitor, and I’m going to tell him so in Saudi next week. Next week, he’ll be told," John Fury told Fight Hub TV.

https://www.boxingscene.com/amp/john-fury-plans-confront-traitor-mike-tyson-during-fury-ngannou-fight-week--178598

That is a very bad idea, even at Mike Tyson's age, he is still very scary as hell. And perhaps this is just to hype the fight as we all know that John Fury wanted to get into the limelight as well when his son/s have fight.

And I guess there's nothing personal on Mike's side, maybe he just wanted to train Francis Ngannou, who he might see himself when he was starting his boxing career. Power in both hands but very raw.

John Fury called Iron Mike a traitor because they used to have good relationships. Tyson Fury is also named after John's idol Iron Mike. But this is nothing personal though and Iron Mike is probably invited and paid well by Ngannou's team so why not? Or it could be that the promoters or organizers hired Iron Mike to make an issue out of it which is somewhat corny. Or who knows this is set up by both teams to make the public buy their upcoming PPV.

John always tries to get attention as always although I guess he was one of the reasons why the Tommy Furry-KSI and Logan vs Dillon event became successful to the casual fans. If the ultra-conservative Saudis allow John to make extra stunts like smashing and throwing the tables and chairs in their conference and weigh-in then I guess it will once again draw popularity to the public.

Yep that's funny. John Fury always wants to be the center of attention despite how old the man.   John also wants to be paid if he can make hype for this fight just as Mike making money in Ngannou's camp.

As if Fury vs Ngannou isn't already an obscure match, he wants to add their old selves in a boxing match all for the money. I saw the interview and he demanded to be compensated of course.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Crypto Execs Confident SEC Will Approve Spot Bitcoin ETFs on: October 22, 2023, 05:03:01 AM
The reason behind the postponement and postponement of approval by the SEC seems to give a sign that the SEC cannot reject the Spot Bitcoin ETF application that has come to their desk for approval. Because the SEC can't deny it. So they will just postpone it. But in the end it seems like the SEC will agree. So yeah, I agree with the saying that it's not about if but about when. We just have to wait for the final approval deadline. And it seems that when the Bitcoin Spot ETF is approved it will automatically strengthen Bitcoin's position in the world of digital finance and investment. And inevitably people who are initially cynical about Bitcoin will start to accept it too. Bullish seems to be in sight.

I think they were denying it until Grayscale comes in to fightback. It just need a big tech company with deep pockets inorder for SEC to back away. Its like fighting back a bully.

If grayscale just have a good argument yet no money to last like Ripple labs I think they will just prolong the fight but I guess the situation changed because of the economy as well.

If they know something I think they are expecting to see BTC as currency reserve since the other pole (China) is using gold as reserve. I've read this somewhere.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: October 22, 2023, 04:06:51 AM
It's not a big deal at all. You've got the freedom to flaunt your betting slip to the world, and if that brings someone joy, we shouldn't be poking holes in their reasons. After all, he's a billionaire, for goodness' sake, so he can definitely show off his massive gambling tickets.

By the way, that 4.25 million, is that in USD or in Nigerian currency? Because if it's on Nigerian Currency, thats only around $5,558, no a huge bet IMO compared to Drake's bet and other sharks in sports betting.

Naira money. He bet 5M and to win 11M if Chealsea wins. He really put his bet at the right time while the team just scored.

He is a millionaire and has the right to do whatever he desires with his money to influence people arou d him its his business. Politicians do it all the time.

What a day for Islam Makhachev!
It is not easy to beat Volkanovski and it is even harder to do it with a KO, but Makhachev proved he is better fighter after beating him again, and he made Khabib proud.

So true mate, it was a hard day for Volkanovski, KO in the first round was just brutal for a guy like him, but I totally understand why Islam attacked that way, he just wanted to avoid what happened in the past fight, so, this time he has to go all in.

And my prediction about the Russian guy on his debut was right, it was an easy x1.4 as I mentioned before, too bad I missed the fight, it was too early morning for me, but I will search for the replay. For sure it was a crazy one.

Islam definitely caught him with a good kick that put him out. His cuts and the blood afterward looked gnarly. Seemed like Volkanovski just wasn’t ready for that.

A similar story with Usman and Khamzat. I think the fighters we’ve grown to love over the years have just gotten too old and now there is a new generation of fighters ready to own all the belts.

Brutal end for Volk. Noticed how Islam made him appear like getting up by preventing Volk's head from dropping using his knee so he could pound more of his hammer.

It really a late stoppage. He was out the moment that headkick hit. I don't think Volk could ever stand quickly with it. This short notice I think shouldn't be practised anymore.
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: October 21, 2023, 07:49:35 PM
~

This may be right to some extent.  While a successful gambler may enjoy some kind of peaceful relationship,  the peace is a short term one. At some point,  your partner will not only be Interested in the goodies that comes from gambling,  they will demand for more and that is attention.  Most gamblers pay little attention to their partners. Where their treasure is, there will their heart and attention be. It becomes worst if he is a gambling addict.

Women like money , yea. But no woman who is really committed  to the relationship will tolerate a man that gives her little or no attention.  What is love without attention.  Aside romantic relationships, gambling addicts pay little or no attention to happenings around their environment except issues and topics relating to gamble. Gambling can actually affect relationships whether the gambler involved is successful or not.

I think that you should not hide your passion for gambling from your partner. There's nothing wrong with it if you sit down and talk about it. If your wife or girlfriend loves you enough and is ready for a constructive dialogue, then everything will be fine. I understand that most people, when they hear the word Gambler, immediately imagine that this person is addicted, but in fact, according to statistics, there are not so many addicts among gamblers. Therefore, if you explain everything perfectly to your beloved, then they will embrace you and support you, monitoring your psychological state.

Hard to negotiate with a woman who demands full attention while they don't also provide full attention to you. It's always a mutual relationship, it's not just that woman receives the money all the time with them doing something in return.

It's true that gambling can affect relationships whether their partner notices you don't give your attention to her anymore or not. The kids of the couples that they have to look after are just more important than freedom from doing things they like.

434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 21, 2023, 06:35:24 PM
Stories like always cracks me up.
Well crying is better than those who committed suicide. After crying she's going to get a plate of ice cream after which she'll forget about her loss.
Real gamblers don't cry. We what that it is what it is. Anyone who doesn't gamble responsibly will face the consequences.

And at the same time, we click this kind of headline on the news. Somehow I believe this is a clickbait of the casino since there was also news about this being a kid begging for his money to be returned to him as the money is his school fee. Same bookmaker too.

Nonetheless, if the woman and the boy are true then this sportsbook has really gotten into the household of this country where even the housewives are already betting instead of doing chores at home.
435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 21, 2023, 05:15:19 PM
It made me understand that, despite during those days we had no phones or access to the internet, gambling is somehow embedded to the brain of humans. Then, as a child, we weren't exposed to gambling. I could only remember of lotto, as a kid. But we still said things like "let's bet it"

This is true. No matter what we do to control gambling, there’s always a point in our life which we will develop the curiosity to explore unknown territory such as alcohol, cigarettes, drug, gambling and other things that is unusual to human nature.

I agree on what you said because just like you, I just heard gambling on one of the adult in our neighborhood and I suddenly develop interest on it when I grow up until I’m capable to do it my self.

Kids in the 1990s learned faster as grown-ups were watching NBA games on TV together and betting live, the kids were also amazed at what they could make. Their eyes open wider realizing they can do it themselves without the grownup's knowledge.

Even when they were just risking their NBA cards or pennies, it's still the start of it. All it takes is just one small win and they are going to find it a success. Winning bets is addictive.

Shakur I think can KO Haney too. It's Tank that he might not be able to last.
Shakur has the skill but we haven't really seen him fight someone who can maneuver him, Shakur always wants to fight from a distance. A prime Pacman or prime Loma would be his very nightmare actually. But definitely, Davis can be Shakurs defeat too.

Probably why he does tune-up after tune-up when he could really challenge Haney already before this fight is set. He must be waiting or Haney vs Davis.
437  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh economy facing headwinds on: October 21, 2023, 03:58:13 PM
They are independent country though. And most countries today seem to be struggling.

One problem always is somewhat to be blamed in a country that has been struggling for years like Bangladesh is the government with 2 parties that do nothing but stopping each others project depending on who is seated in the presidency.

One government party will allow projects stand for long term to which they can expect a project will be completed since there is no opposition.
Mate, that's also what's happening here in our country. There's the opposition and the administration party and together with their alliances. It's always the disagreement and agreement from these political parties. And IMHO, that's what makes the progress of our country slow when there's always the disagreement and time is consumed from all of these debates from both parties. I think that debt also plays a big part, on what I've seen, the chart for Bangladesh's debt is on an uptrend til' 2028 based on statista.com.

I think that's happened in a lot of developing country, in one side opposition is good to watch the winning parties so that they are not corrupt, and don't do stupid thing. But on the other hand, they hinder the country development by denying all the good programs and idea by the winning side, even when the table turns on the next election, they prefer to start a similar project from zero rather than continuing the good project created by their opponent.

Not sure what happened to many of these governments. My country is also doing this shitty system, we have to undergo all these elections every cycle and we have to vote for all these politicians but do nothing on their terms.

If I have all the power. I'd import Xijingping into my country and let him do all the stuff and his fellow men over here and citizen can mind their own business while the government build all the things they can do without opposition to stop them. Since the time we got independence, we have spent more $funds on elections than building bridges to connect lands divided by rivers.

Bangladesh is supposedly a rich country with access to rivers and seas and all other resources from neighboring countries like India and Pakistan. They only need to cooperate with these countries.

There are a lot of fights as always, but I'm going to watch Johnny Walker's fight against Magomed Ankalaev. That's because I've been watching videos of Johnny Walker's fights, as strange as it may seem, I watch it unintentionally, but leaving that aside. Johnny Walker is 31 years old and was born in Brazil, he is a fighter who has been working as a professional fighter for 10 years. This means that he has a 10-year career and in those 10 years of his career he had 28 fights, and of the 28 fights he managed to win 21 fights and lost in 7 fights. Johnny Walker's strong point is in striking. he has already managed to have 16 victories by knockout, this means that of the 28 fights he has had, more than 50% were victories by knockout.

he also has a detail that should not be forgotten, which is that 14 victories by knockout were in the first round, and he also had 3 victories by submission. on the other side we have Magomed Ankalaev who is being seen as the favorite for this fight, he has odds of @1.30 if he wins the fight, and as if everything points to his victory. He is 31 years old and was born in Russia. He has 9 years of professional career, and during these 9 years of professional career he managed to have 19 fights of which he managed to obtain 17 victories and lost once and drew once. He is also strong in striking. and he managed to obtain 9 victories by knockout, 8 victories were by decision.

my guess would go against the bookmakers, generally it's very difficult to beat the bookmakers in fights where the favorite fighter's scenario has odds below 1.35, but in this case I think it's Johnny Walker who, despite having odds of 4.00 and not being the favorite to win this fight, I still think he can win the fight. It won't be an easy task for him, but he might still be able to win.

He is a remarkable fighter. Some of his fights are pretty much you can remember how they end. While he can deliver great KOs, he also gave us one of his funniest KO lol https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cpDfM8gR_uo

But anyway, he always has a place in my mind whoever he fights with. Crazy why he agreed to fight Magomed but he may be inactive for a while if he ever pulls this out. Or fight whoever wins between Jiri and Alex.

Vote for him in my ufc 294 Multi Master Challenge.
13. Islam Makhachev
12. Khamzat Chimaev
11. Johnny Walker

The BTC ETF seems like giving hope to those investors waiting only for something to happen. And then there's SEC giving up the XRP lawsuit which is sort of a signal for those guys. Now whether this is just a fake bull run again or not it doesn't matter since those investors get in to hold.

I'm hoping this is the start of a bull run after all the halving is just months away and it seems like stimulus is coming once again. Signs are telling investors BTC will save us.
