1361  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 01, 2013, 10:54:56 PM
Don't see me on the spreadsheet yet, put me down for 3, more if available.  Your fee + shipping costs seem a little high, especially when ordering multiple units.  That and my order got a little mixed up last time XD.  Maybe put a cap on shipping costs?  Shipping 1 and shipping 5 make little difference right?

all the shipping issues were USPS related, which is why i'm using strictly fedex this time.

shipping cost wise, that's true. last time i offered (and partly failed to deliver...) overnight shipping on orders over 10 units to compensate. that offer stands, of course.
1362  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 01, 2013, 10:45:26 PM
regarding the USB miners and their price drop, previous buyers of mine can order at .175 per unit. more info here:

Not a previous customer but I am interested in 10 at these prices.

this offer is only for former customers, sorry.
1364  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 01, 2013, 10:41:22 PM
oh, and obviously i'll need you all to email me when you've paid with your addresses, since i no longer have that info from before.
1365  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 01, 2013, 10:39:58 PM
I'd buy more than 4.

noted. that brings us to 26 at a minimum. please send your payments when your able, but absolutely no later then the deadline of the 9th.

where can i grab a countdown timer anyway?

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjCZrDbAiz_PdE4tbDR3X3owMHNMb1NyekJGWHN4QlE&usp=sharing

hopefully i'll hear from FC and get this whole limit thing sorted soon... can maybe just open to ordering as many as you guys want then.
1366  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 01, 2013, 10:28:27 PM
I'll take another 20 @ 0.175

Have not heard anything official about the price drop, though. I have an email to Friedcat about wanting to independently buy another 50 @ 0.1 BTC that has not yet been responded to Sad

indeed. it's odd... but, uh... *shrug* i dun know.

I am not participating in this buy, whatever benefit there is to be had from my previous participation is available to the new participants at the discretion of arklan

well, ok then.

that frees up 2!

shall i split them between you, tigerfree and debitme?
1367  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 01, 2013, 10:23:09 PM
i bought from you before and sold it ,can i buy now at .175 btc .
Thank you.

correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't you sell yours before i shipped it?

yes i did , i hope you consider me as previous customers as i bought from you and sold it again because i need the money that time .

complicated. i mean, yes, in the strictest sense, you are. but then do i deny the person you sold to? seems unfair to them. of course, denying you seems unfair to you...

i honestly don't know. as long as we're considering this limited in number of units available, i think i have to see only those who actually received units.

I agree, if you sold you shouldnt be eligable, but whoever received the unit should be.  That is why I am asking if there is room to bring me in.

i hear ya debit. keep an eye here and i'll be happy to include ya if i can.

1370  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy REOPENED! on: August 01, 2013, 09:56:09 PM
that makes much more sense! thanks for interpreting. Cheesy

well, first, obviously i need to make a new spreadsheet to track this and announce that i'm accepting orders from previous buyers, and modify the OP and such. i'll work on that now.

second - being aug 1 already - i don't know. i'm utterly broke so i can't place the order myself.

So we need to figure out 1) how to allocate the miners and 2) how to get you the miners asap.

Previously Friedcat was willing to use Asicminer shares as collateral to purchase the miners, I am willing to put up some of my shares as a guarantee that we will pay the 15.3 btc needed for the 153 miners (30% of the 512 from the groupbuy) in an effort to get things moving as quickly as possible.

We then just need to figure out how to allocate the miners.  The hope would be that everyone gets all they deserve by the 10th, but who knows if that will hold up.

my logic is that waiting until the 9th to submit the order, thus allowing them to ship them on the tenth, is reasonable. rushing beyond that seems... messy.

allocating the miners - i need to confirm there's a limit to the number we can order. assuming there is, then we can limit it to units ordered previously, unless people declare they will not order, or simply don't speak up at all by the morning of the 9th. i'll reach out to everyone by PM in a second, and to friedcat right now to see about the limit.

as for the "ordering asap using shares" i had one - but in a bit of chaotic life, had to sell it and move to texas a couple weeks ago. so i don't have any shares or any coin.if you and others are willing ot out up shares, we can order now and sell whatever people in the GB don't want i guess. thinking aloud here. open to ideas.

the OP has been modified as follows:

Quote
ok fellas. we are BACK and taking order's! each PREVIOUS BUYER can place an order for USB miners at .175 per unit. the .075 is for my fee and shipping - which will be fedex ground.

Ordering is open until august 9, 6 pm mountain time (that's friday, about 1:20 from current forum time) payment is due ASAP so i can place the order and get the shipment from friedcat on it's way as of the 10th.

International buyers - please contact me before sending payment!

send payments to:
1FhKvN9VB9AhJ3pfsEMa7ZDpuifSh5JXNo

NOTE: that's my address, directly. there is NOT an escrow service this time. (previous order was completed as you all know, so why spend the fee? if this is an issue for you, please discuss)

i THINK this is limited to the numbers ordered previously - let me confirm that before you guys go hog wild.

link to spreadsheet of current orders (same spreadsheet as before, i just modified it):

ok guys, i heard from Friedcat - though i'm a little confused due to translation, i think.

as discussed in PM with him (nothing confidential mentioned, so i don't feel concerned with posting it.)

Hey FC. Heard about the price cut on the usb miners to . 6 btc each, and a coupon for those who bought at 1btc. I'm wondering what the case is for my 512 units paid at 1.99 btc?

I've got the original members of the group buy interested in the reduced price through the coupon.

Thanks for any info.
Hi,

It's true. But currently it only covers 30% and we will ship them in August 1. Please compensate them in a reverse time order. It is possible that we cover 100% but that would be after August 10 at least.

Best regards,

friedcat

sounds like the previous buyers get a coupon for 30% off - not a price of .1 btc. but that could change after august 10.
1373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 29, 2013, 02:27:18 AM
someone should just buy it up to 10k$/BTC  sure it would drop fast but i bet it would stabilize pretty high and shoot that much higher on next bubble  Cool

do it
time is now

would be fascinating to watch, regardless of the outcome. couldn't even do it in one go, regardless of your holdings, sicne there's no coin available at that level. so what, push it up by a relatively small amount every now and then, then pause to wait for the sells to fill in?

yea. that'd be a show. Cheesy

Any news lately on the developing price drop and coupons?

it seems the lower price of .6 btc is confirmed (though not from the cat!) with coupons for previous buyers. i've messaged him to see how this effects this group buy.
1375  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Rumors on: July 28, 2013, 05:50:43 AM
I see nothing dishonest. He quoted a price, you said you wanted to wait to see how the rumor posted out, he said ok, and alluded to information he couldn't share. I see nothing scam like at all.

i disagree with this assertion based purely on my presence alone. Cheesy
1377  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Rumors on: July 26, 2013, 08:24:35 PM
Has anyone actually calculated what an Errupter in hand would need to sell for to be profitable? I bought one at 270 Euro and am at 15 Euro or so in 5 weeks or there abouts!

I just see them as a novelty and to help the network. To buy 3Gh for 1000 is just not worth it right now, though with BFL still behind on the Jalapenos it is a bit amusing.
Now, if they drop the price to 100 dollars for 3Gh, then they will sell like Hotcakes. Can you imagine buying, right now 30 Gh for 1000? I think that is possible.
Come on Chinese  Grin

i don't think we know the price points of the chips and such to be able to price them, the custom stuff i mean.

...
i'm sure there's some limit or catch or such on this, but i have no further info and am pulling this out of my butt. is there interest, or more info around?

I'm in.  I've felt from day one that these things were worth maybe $25 max and probably less if volumes get high.

Although I've not read the links, I don't think you would technically need to solicit authorization(s) from the group or involve us, but it is the ethical thing to do and you seem to have an unusual propensity to do the right thing (which, parenthetically, obviates my desire for escrow as does the low value I being a single unit buyer.)

You have authorization from me to buy a matching one to the one you delivered to me and either sell it yourself and pocket the proceeds, or I will buy it for 0.2 BTC.  I've yet to even bother to power up the one you sent me Smiley

thanks for the confidence. Cheesy

What are we going to do about this news, where previous purchasers can buy a USB block erupter for 0.1 BTC:

(Use google translate if necessary):

http://ttbit.sinaapp.com/t/50

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=261523.0

i'm having a tough time parsing the google translated page, but assuming that what you say is true - wow. i... wow. i would pretty much sell my soul to take advantage. however - i've had an interesting july, to put it lightly. i currently find myself living in a friends living room, with no car and no income besides the bitcoin mining i have. thus, i need every satoshi for food right now.

i'd be happy to organize another group buy at a much lower price though! would help me out a great deal, obviously. depends on the specifics of course, but i could happily see doing orders for .75 above the cost of purchase, with fedex shipping via ground for all orders (screw the post office!) though given past experience, i'm inclined to limit it to US only - i've got nearly 1000 in customs bills from the last group buy i still haven't paid. my own fault, of course. i am not asking for donations or anything.

so yea - assuming this is true - pending FC verification - .175 per stick, shipped asap via fedex ground to continental US. escrow by john k if desired which obviously incurs his fee.

i'm sure there's some limit or catch or such on this, but i have no further info and am pulling this out of my butt. is there interest, or more info around?
1380  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Question related to "Mhash/s" indication on "My account" on: July 20, 2013, 08:20:50 PM
I'm pretty new to Bitcoin mining and using three Satoshi Sticks (USB ASICs). cgminer indicates an average hash rate of 325 Mh/s per AMU. I've been connected to Slush's pool for a few hours, but on the "My accounts" page the "Mhash/s" stats say

285.69 Mh/s

with this number slowly increasing on page refreshes.

Questions:
- Why is this number significantly lower than 3 x 325 Mh/s?
- Will it keep increasing over time until it reaches the real rate, which cgminer indicates on my local machine?
- Why is this so?

Thanks for helping a Bitcoin mining newbie with this. :-)

it's determining hashrate via sucessfully submitted shares over a given time, i think ten minutes. thus, as you submit more shares, the relative speed increases. yes, it will continue to do so until it reflects the real rate.
