1381  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Who still mining using this site genesis-mining.com? is it scam? on: February 05, 2019, 01:20:43 AM
There's really no good reason anyone would offer their machines' hashpower to you if their machines are already making a profit. There's no guarantee you'll make a profit with cloudmining, and especially in this bear market we're in, many cloudmining contracts have expired or been cancelled for reasons like revenue falling below maintenance costs and such. I highly discourage you and anyone else reading this from buying cloudmining contracts; a good alternative is just simply buying coins straight from an exchange. Mining as a whole's pretty risky right now unless you have exceptionally cheap electrical rates.
1382  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long do you think this BEAR MARKET will LAST? on: February 04, 2019, 01:28:43 AM
I suspect we'll be in this bear market for a few more months at the least, but it could also end next week- there's really no telling when this bear market's going to end, but at the least our fundamentals are much better than they were in the last bear market Bitcoin was in before the run up to the ATH at $20k, and there's more services involving BTC and crypto as well. I definitely think there's going to be another bull market for BTC, though, but the mindset most people are in is definitely different than the last bear market we were in, with more people holding for the mid to long-term expecting another ATH. It'll definitely be interesting to see how the next run up goes.
1383  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Diversifying has never been the same in crypto. on: February 04, 2019, 12:13:33 AM
The problem with holding shitcoins and also crypto is that it's extremely hard to time your sells and buys. Not everyone predicted BTC peaking at $20K and sold there (most believed BTC would continue moving upwards), and there's also no telling when a shitcoin's going to stop pumping or if it ever will pump. Pretty big gamble especially in this bear market IMO, which is why I've moved most of my portfolio back to major coins like BTC, ETH and LTC since we started dropping from the ATH. The bear market's definitely not helping your chances of having a coin you hold get pumped.
1384  Other / Off-topic / Re: Protecting your email is of great importance on: February 03, 2019, 07:31:13 PM
I actually use a site called WeLeakInfo (click for link) to find out if any of my emails or logins have been compromised along with HaveIBeenPwned- WeLeakInfo actually provides information on the exact leaked details of your email and password so you don't use the same password or something similar in the future.

2FA's not a perfect solution, but you should always have it enabled whenever possible. I've stopped potential intruders into my inboxes several times many years ago with 2FA, still have it enabled on all my inboxes.
1385  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: btcfor.gifts on: February 03, 2019, 07:21:27 PM
Purse is definitely going to be your best option for getting a Netflix gift with BTC. I did try to look on bigger sites like eGifter for 'em, but it seems very few sites have the Netflix gift codes and most of them seem rather shady and untrustworthy.

Paxful (click for link to Netflix part of the site) is another alternative that you could try using; in my experience Paxful is mostly a good site as long as you use sellers with a good number of positive reputation and you don't buy codes that are priced oddly.
1386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What happened to all the altcoin asic's from Bitmain? on: February 03, 2019, 06:45:39 PM
Yup, on the CN version of the Bitmain site (click here for link), there's still ASICs like the D3, L3+ and Z9 on sale. The 25% tariffs on Bitmain products for Americans has definitely put a dent in the demand for their ASICs, though you can still find machines like the Z9 available secondhand in places like the Computer Hardware section of this forum or on sites like eBay.
1387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Most profitable CPU mining coins in 2019? on: February 02, 2019, 03:38:11 PM
Depends what CPU you have really. Some CPUs do better on certain algos than others, would definitely help if you could provide the model of CPU you plan on using to calculate if there's better algos out there to mine with besides XMR for you. Generally speaking, if you know the model of CPU you have, you can Google the hashrate of your CPU model and use the figures you find to determine if a certain coin or algo is more profitable than XMR.
1388  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does any exchange has bitcoin freeze function? on: January 31, 2019, 10:17:33 PM
Hello guys, is there any exchange that has bitcoin freeze function? I think that will be a great feature for those who are nervous in trading and sometimes because of price fall do shit movements. You would freeze as much coin as you want for a while which means you can't touch them nor trade and get them back once time will pass.
Never heard a feature like this on the cryptoexchanges but I think this is a good idea. It can help you to protect your money from the scammers or hackers especially if you are so busy and you forget to monitor your coins. Trading activities can also be one of the benefits of this feature but so far there is no exchanges who offer this services.
If you're trying to prevent your money from being stolen by scammers or hackers, cold storage or storage via a hardware wallet is a great option that doesn't require an exchange to add anything like a freeze function. Sure, a hardware wallet's a small investment, but a hardware wallet also provides security you just can't get from an exchange or any sort of online wallet service. There's a relatively low risk of an exchange you use getting hacked, but you should always be prepared for the worst case scenario. I would suggest only keeping as much money on an exchange as you need to trade and putting the rest into wallets with private keys you control.
1389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa an untapped cryptocurrency related betting opportunity on: January 31, 2019, 10:11:21 PM
Africa as a continent I think is the poorest of all continents. However bitcoin has removed barriers and boundaries to anyone who knows and use it. I am sure there are a lot of members here from African countries and also many of them are playing in different bitcoin casinos. Borders and barriers means nothing when bitcoin is being used.
Africa's indeed the poorest country if you're measuring by GDP per capita (but by just GDP it's not the poorest), and even though Bitcoin does indeed remove many limitations that people normally can't circumvent, the majority of people in Africa simply can't afford to gamble or afford to purchase any part of a Bitcoin. There's indeed wealthy and well-off people in Africa, but there's still a bigger market elsewhere for cryptocurrency gambling in places like the Americas, Europe and Asia.
1390  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can we trust Blockchain.com? (Poll) on: January 31, 2019, 09:44:30 PM
as far as i can remember Stellar has always required your identification in their giveaways. and this is not their first giveaway. so i don't think it was a "blockchain.com" thing but more of a stellar thing that they asked for identification. in any case i have never bothered with anything like that even if the value of the giveaway were high.
not to mention that these days with all these companies selling or at best leaking your identification on dark market, it is not such a good idea to give it to them!
I do recall there was an airdrop of XLM if you were able to sign a message from a wallet you owned a while back (perhaps a year ago?) if you consider airdrops giveaways, but it does indeed seem like Stellar's requiring Id as of their most recent giveaways.

Did some searching and the airdrop was around March 2017, so nearly two years ago with some details here (click for link) if you're interested in looking back at that. Seems like the airdrop was also for XRP holders back then, though I personally only participated in the BTC side of the airdrop.
1391  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto to crypto exchange transactions available on Binance on: January 31, 2019, 08:48:05 PM
Well Binance also announced today that you can now purchase with credit card.

https://coindoo.com/binance-just-enabled-debit-and-credit-card-payments/
If you (or anyone else here) chooses to buy crypto on Binance with a credit or debit card, note that verification is necessary for purchase. There's more information on the entire credit or debit card purchase process here (click for link) on the official Binance site. There's also a discussion thread on this in the Service Discussion section (link to thread here). It appears Binance is using Simplex to process payments through cards, can't speak of how quick or easy the process is though as I've never used Simplex before.
1392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gpu Mining only on: January 31, 2019, 08:09:54 PM
I've sold off virtually all of the GPUs I own except for the one or two I have left for gaming in my main rig (a 1070Ti), like adaseb said it's not worth the hassle for the tiny amount you're earning with GPUs now. Some people are mining GRIN right now, but I have no idea how the profitability is on GRIN right now and I don't have much to mine with anymore anyways. I've switched mostly over to DCAing around $100 into BTC and a bit into other altcoins as of late. I don't see 2019 being very good for GPU miners as long as we're trapped in this bear market.
1393  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance Enables Debit and Credit Card Payments on: January 31, 2019, 08:06:18 PM
There's no place that allows you to buy BTC or any other sort of cryptocurrency with a debit or credit card out there right now AFAIK due to potential fraud via those payment methods, not surprised Binance is going to require KYC for users to purchase crypto with debit and credit card payments.

Does anyone know exactly what jurisdictions are prohibited from buying crypto with Simplex? I did some searching and I wasn't able to find anything regarding this. Simplex does state that they support payments through USD, EUR and GBP though.
1394  Economy / Speculation / Re: anybody buying some Bitcoin lately? on: January 31, 2019, 03:02:57 AM
If you're looking for a more featured graph for BTC's price than what Coinmarketcap offers, the BraveNewCoin (BLX) index (click for link) on TradingView's pretty good. The graph displays data to around July 2010, much further than most charts you'll be able to find, and TradingView's a staple of mine for viewing charts already. Bitcoinwisdom also has pretty decent charts.
1395  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling site that offer Free spin? on: January 31, 2019, 02:45:37 AM
FortuneJack offers 25 free spins just for registration from what I can see on the homepage of the site, and BitStarz also offers 180 free spins on registration as well. If you're just interested in playing and/or testing out the games on a casino, some casinos allow you to play via play money or tokens like FortuneJack or Crypto-Games. Good luck!
1396  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need a good shopping website to buy with bitcoins on: January 30, 2019, 10:20:27 PM
I’ve used Newegg for years with both Bitcoin and PayPal with no issues, and the site is my go-to for purchasing products with Bitcoin even today. You can always buy gift cards for the website you’re trying to purchase a product off of from somewhere like the Digital Goods section of this forum as well.

Do you know if Newegg ships worldwide? Last i tried, some years ago, it was USA only... But if they changed that policy I'd like to know, especially if i can pay directly in bitcoins...
I did some searching and I found this page (click here for link) on Newegg's site regarding international shipping. Seems like they now do shipping to a decent number of countries worldwide now. Below is the list of countries that Newegg now ships to; remember that you'll need to pay for necessary duties and taxes when applicable.

Code:
Austria
Australia
Belgium
Bulgaria
Chile
Colombia
Costa Rica
Denmark
Dominican Republic
Ecuador
El Salvador
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Honduras
Hong Kong
Hungary
India
Indonesia
Ireland
Israel
Italy
Jamaica
Latvia
Luxembourg
Macau
Mexico
Monaco
Netherlands
New Zealand
Nicaragua
Norway
Panama
Philippines
Poland
Portugal
Saudi Arabia
Singapore
Slovakia
Slovenia
South Korea
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Thailand
Turkey
United Arab Emirates
United Kingdom

I live in the US and so I've never had to deal with Newegg's international shipping, so I can't say how good their international shipping is, though.

1398  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful of not getting red-tags by advertising a known scam in your signature on: January 30, 2019, 02:39:55 AM
I typically find stock images or images from places other than the ICO page are pretty good indicators that the bounty or ICO you're representing is a scam; back when BTC was near its ATH, many, many ICOs I found on this forum had fake team members with stolen images, and it really doesn't take a long time to investigate this particular facet of an ico: simply hover your cursor over the image you're trying to research, right click, and at least in Chrome you should see an option called "search Google for this image" in the white box that should come up.
1399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any valid reason to continue gambling? on: January 30, 2019, 01:30:38 AM
There is no good reason why somebody would continue to gamble, but if you enjoy it, why not continue. Someone is enough to continue gambling when considering a large amount of money, about profits.

People who play for entertainment is fine as that is in limits and have fun and do not play to make money out of it. But moment people start playing for money this starts creating problems for many and then the problems keep on increasing with long time people continue gambling.

if you will only play for enterntainment . why not play offline gambling that does not involve real money ?  because i see that some play gambling for fun but they are still loosing enough money at the same time  . maybe because of the thrilling sensation ? why not ride a roaller coaster or feris wheels at the amusement park ? they are more thrilling that gambling  .

same as gambling because of the profit  . why not work for a stable job if you only goal is to earn ? not unless your lazy  .
Gambling without the involvement of real money's simply different than gambling with real money and a real stake on the line, and the thrill just isn't there for most people in a flash game or app involving gambling; there's a reason why there is still such a large and growing market for gambling today. I too gamble for fun and I've incurred a net loss gambling, but the thrill I get is different from riding a roller coaster, and it's also much more convenient for me to gamble online from home or anywhere else compared to driving to an amusement park.

It's possible to bet for a profit through methods like arbitrage (though a profit is still not guaranteed 100% of the time unless you properly execute your bets), but for most people, gambling for a profit's unrealistic and you should face the reality that the odds are against you in the long term.
1400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which gambling sites offers investment on: January 30, 2019, 12:05:16 AM
Is there any site that offers that kind of return, I think it's always based on your amount invested and the profitable of the site in overall.
I am just giving an example not to promote it. Yobit is an exchange and it has dice option as well as an investment program. You can see it from: https://yobit.net/en/investbox/
Eh, still a pretty crappy example of a site to invest on. Yobit's universally hated on this forum for a reason; the site's constantly putting coin wallets 'under maintenance', sometimes indefinitely, and the support on the site in general is extremely sluggish- it usually takes days for the site to resolve any issues, not to mention there's thousands of threads pertaining to Yobit about the site not processing their deposits and many scam accusations as well. If you do choose to invest in a casino or something of the sort, avoid Yobit. You might come out unscathed, but there are much better options out there.
