1381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 18, 2023, 05:33:09 PM
So what next, Cannonier fights Adesanya again? He might be a real thread now. Adesanya is no good against big guys ( Cannonier is a former heavyweight and lightheavy) such as Blachowicz and Pereira. Cannonier is big and hope gained more experience since their previous fight. That makes a really good challenge for Izzy.
Izzy is too good for all of them but Cannonier should get next chance. He deserves it. He needs to improve a lot to beat Izzy but thats beaty of the MMA. Right now not good enough but future will be interesting for sure.

It's still fun to see someone like Jared who just won our respect, the guy got better and better as he grows old. Jared beating Vettori in a wrestling match is very surprising. But he was also surprised during his last fight, giving you a run for the money against Strickland.

Adesanya vs Cannonier isn't so bad of a test of skills. Though I doubt he could beat Adesanya this time, it will be fun to see what he'd do against Adesanya.
1382  Other / Politics & Society / Re: the point of having high IQ? on: June 18, 2023, 05:17:10 PM

OP, I think I understand what you are trying to express here, yeah, but high IQ in humans can be in different aspects of their career, profession, academic degree, etc. For example, someone who has a high IQ on how to run a business could expand the business by opening other branches. Also, someone can have a high IQ in academics; they can read, write, and pass their exams very well, but with such an IQ in only academics, they may not necessarily do well in other aspects of life.

Some people have a high IQ to counsel others and solving family problems, but they can't handle their own homes. Some don't have the high IQ to manage their office; they could get employed in a large private company, but due to poor performance, they can easily get sacked, even though they were people of great intelligence in the high institution. In general, high level of IQ in a career that someone chooses will grant them excellent.

OP, I know that the forum is not against individuals that write in bad English because it's not the mother tongue of most people here, but it's very important to write correctly with good punctuation because that's what makes readers easily understand the message you are trying to pass. Some people can just skip a thread after reading the first and second paragraphs, and when it doesn't make sense to them, they will just skip the topic. So, I will advise you to  work on your writing skills; it will help build you a great reputation here. You can read Advantages of engaging in quality contributions on the forum.

Don't take it so hard on me, it's just friendly advice.

Cheers 🥂, Dr.Bitcoin_Strange 👺👺

Yep, I have seen my schoolmates considered to be the first section as they were full of book readers and in the year-end program, they are the kids who are valedictorians and with honors.  Academically they are good. Met them in college in the nearby city, and most of them now drink beer. Does look like it's not their first time anymore but I'm certain those kids had not tasted a beer during high school.  It's in their college days when the first time they got a life. They can explain thermodynamics, I give them that.

If a person with a high IQ uses this intelligence for good then he's a better person I suppose. If he uses his intelligence to get away with crimes he did I guess that's still good but doesn't make him a better person.

1383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $500k parlay win $0 withdrawal on: June 18, 2023, 03:56:42 PM
Could’ve cashed out nearly 500k but I wanted to make 1m  Undecided

For me, 446K is huge already, I would hastily get out. But then let's say it's not enough for you. So you can keep on betting. And I wish you more luck, if you have gotten that $1M, don't go too far. You don't wanna go too far with your greed, it's a double edge sword and it could cut you instead.

Why you can't withdraw is what puzzled us. You afraid of KYC? That amount certainly needs to be KYCed by the casinos.
1384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 18, 2023, 05:08:51 AM
Everyone is free to give his own interpretation on women interaction with gambling but what we will all arrived at is that we cannot compare the rate of women participation to that of men in gambling, maybe we can give some reasons like how women were believed to be weaker vessels unlike men in most cases, their dedication and commitments to the house and the family especially in taking care of the children at home, lastly maybe our women may not have that boldness of taking risk associated to gambling because some depends on their earnings to take care of the family.
Countries where women are self-reliant, i.e. those who work for their own livelihood and can take decisions, may have slightly higher numbers of female gamblers but that doesn't mean that the number of female gamblers are more then male. In some countries where women work as housewives or mother it must be difficult for them to gamble because they cannot provide financial support. In any aspect of gambling I think women lag behind men.
The truth is that studies like the one provided by the OP are very subjective, as every country and sometimes different provinces on the same country have a different culture.

So assuming the findings of the study are correct, this is only true for the place in which the study was realized, if they tried the same experiment in a different country their results could be completely different, meaning that studies like that are not very useful when it comes to explaining something as complex as human behavior.

Definitely true. When women does have financial capabilities, they can have the freedom they want. They don't even need men besides them anymore. This is evident to rich families and women are not dependent on their husbands.

Various reason for womens gambling. Family issues are often over think by women and you can compare this to a rebel child trying to make a point. Gambling women must be different reasons too.

1386  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Betcoin.ag is trying to scam me off my 7,7k USD balance on: June 18, 2023, 02:42:34 AM

A very old casino will jus take a small amount is not worth it for them. It doesn't make sense for Betcoin.ag  had been around since the price of our coins are less than 10% of its current price.

But casino accusing you of violating their basic TOS will always come down to consequences when it look like you win and run. You violate a gambler's etiquette.

TOS violation is still a violation.
1387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock e seu futuro fork na rede bitcoin! on: June 17, 2023, 07:03:59 PM

Damn thats one hack of a strategy of them. And all I Thought they are helping crypto fin SEC Approval of BItcoin Spot ETF.  They can try forking and probably will win if their network will have more liquidity.

All the institutions in wallstreet going for BTC EFT OF Blackrock will realy destroy crypto or they could end up like BTC CASH?
1388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: June 17, 2023, 06:25:55 PM
I was just wondering. If by some chance, Trump becomes ineligible to run for POTUS 2024, what would be his reaction. Would he ask his supporters to boycott the elections (which is a very stupid move in my opinion), or will he nominate someone else such as Ivanka in his place? Trump is so unpredictable and I really can't predict what he will do if something like that happens. If he goes for the first option, then there will be massive civil unrest in the United States, because a significant share of the population are still loyal to Trump.

I hate people that are so consumed by power, that's what Trump has been doing ever since he lost the second term in his election because he was incompetent but he is ashame to admit that, his ego wouldn't let the government do his job, and his supporters are consume by hate even when they knew he is an opportunist and a manipulator but I love the fact that Biden government have calm his nerves with the atrocities he has done throughout his life, anything that will make him stay away from that power is a welcome change because I can't stand all those insults he has made throughout his tenure.

I'm surprised with the news you watched for it's very much different from what the usual people had seen today. But I doubt Trump will nominate Ivanka or Erik, if he becomes ineligible, it stops there. They'd already seen how dirty politics is compared to business where the Trumps are more familiar with such stage. I think only Donald has the grit t pursue it.

They really are threatened by Trump running in 2024 that they need to jail him over some classified documents, seriously?
What the information have they not declassified already, everything is declassified already even the UFO spaceships and the bodies of aliens.  Grin

1389  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Placing A Trade, How Long Does It Take For The Order To Be Filled? on: June 17, 2023, 06:01:08 PM

Buy orders are to be set for higher prices. Coinbase is an orderbook kind in which you can just pick a seller to agree on the price for your order to be filled. Easy peasy. If you can't wait for another hour or two, it should be your choice then.  If you are confident though that prices will still be coming down to $21k, patience is the key.

I'm not familiar with coinbase but is canceling an order also canceling the trading fee?
1390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: June 17, 2023, 05:38:10 PM
We can talk about gambling in general as a significant income. Still, we can talk about professional poker players and sports bettors since in these two some people win most of the time, they have good knowledge about the games themselves, good reading/analytic skills, and a nice bankroll for playing. In these two some people can make something more, but even that will always depend on luck as well... we all have bad days and red streaks. But some people know how to chill and take a break, or even better to say some people have good self-control and some goal they follow.

Professional poker players and the pros that OP mentioned who can make a living out of his game. We saw different poker tournaments and some of them waste hundreds of thousands when they fold. But the loss of one is also the gain of the other.  Some of them even reach up to millions just to bluff. Them doing all these must be a success.

For me, I could say I'm still having success though I'm not a big spender in sports betting, I'm able to get around on my own in sports.

1391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock Bitcoin ETF to Partners with Coinbase on: June 17, 2023, 04:52:43 PM
Anyone have any details of their agreement with Coinbase? I’m wondering if Coinbase takes a percentage of the total holdings or if it was a one time thing or what. If it’s a deal based on a percentage and this ETF turns out to be massive, this could be a good source of revenue for Coinbase. That to me makes them a more interesting investment than their fee heavy exchange.

coinbase offers a vault service
coinbase is the service provider and blackrock are the customer of coinbase vault.
coinbase is simply the vault(custodian) for blackrocks coins in trust

its not the same as the "partnership" coinbase has with grayscale

blackorck is simply a customer of coinbase

Binance.us has been settled and Binance agreed to only hire US base employees. Partner or not, Binance.us would also be interested if Coinbase makes money out of being custodial of the BTC for the Blackrock customers.

For a long time, BTC ETF has been proposed over and over, it would be the first in history to have BTC Spot ETF. This legitimizes institutions that are coming to buy your Bitcoin.
1392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oleksandr Usyk VS Daniel Dubois For The Undisputed heavyweight champion on: June 17, 2023, 04:21:25 PM
I have Usyk winning by a decision here, of all the heavyweight champions Usyk is an established technician in the ring he has a very good ring generalship, he never thinks of knocking out his opponent he breaks down his opponent to frustrate him and always looks for his opponent's weakness.
He is a thinking fighter, and it's hard to beat a thinking and a wise fighter in his game, Dubois is a good fighter but Usyk will overwhelm him like he did against Joshua.

While we can agree that Usyk indeed can defeat Dubios, the opposite can also happen. It's more possible to happen to me.
19 fights and 18 by KO is a scary record for a heavyweight.  Usyk will not be surprised if he is gonna be knockout by Dubios, just look at how solid young man he is compared to the old Usyk.

Strange choice of place, they could just agree on Wembley Stadium? There must be a story behind this decision.
1393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to fight with FUD about Bitcoin on: June 17, 2023, 03:44:08 PM
I'm an active participant in quora. Mostly I'm engaged in cryptocurrency discussion in Bengali. My purpose is simply to fight against FUD, misinformation. I have been doing this actively for long time now. I have engaged in debates in quora.

For the last few years, I'm trying to have a debate about Bitcoin with Mohammad Ghoni who was a Professor in a private university of Bangladesh. He claims himself as a economic analyst.

However, his negativity against Bitcoin is totally stupid. In fact, it seems he is biased when talking about Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency. He talks nonsense as if he doesn't know anything about Bitcoin. He is spreading wrong information about Bitcoin in quora. It's simple, when you don't know anything perfectly and you want to talk about that, you will only generate some stupid text.

I tried to engage with him in his responses. I'm ready to have a debate with him. The problem is he doesn't reply when someone wants to talk against his stupid opinion. He simply put answer on quora and then leave. I have replied in many of his answer in quora but never got a reply.
Now, I'm getting more concerned because he is spreading negativity in most of the questions. What can I do? Is there anything legal step someone can take, any foundation working on such issue? Or how can I invite him for a debate? I can simply put him on ignore but I'm also concerned about people getting wrong message. That's why I'm thinking something different.

There are surely a lot of people who hates Bitcoin and that could really make sense, a lot of rich people hate cryptocurrency just because of its risk, and compared to other investment its probably the worst. Plus we don't really have assurance on this kind of investment cryptocurrency is still a new thing even at this point there are still a lot of people who don't know Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Compared to the stock market which is a stock of a company it actually just a share but it is a company on Bitcoin your just buying some sort of digital currency.

So investing in cryptocurrency will always have FUD bitcoin it doesnt have any support even from the government. The best thing to do is just ignore him I mean you could teach Bitcoin to your friends, family, or other people, just let him do his thing and you do your thing as well. The investors will be the ones to decide if he/she is going to invest in it, He cant really stop bitcoin from adaptation for sure in the coming years Bitcoin and cryptocurrency will be a lot more popular.

You can't argue with everyone on the internet because they are saying something wrong about BTC and the market. Those who spread Fud do have agenda of their own, if they are doing it then it could be that they want investors to sell for them to buy more or they simply hate the other project. Both happen all the time but the fud these days are often involved by certain well-known names in finance and some are government officials.

Its a never-ending cycle of fud but the ones that always emerge every time halving is nearer is about Satoshi conspiracy theories.
1394  Economy / Economics / Re: The SEC is right. It's not about Bitcoin, it's about centralized shitcoins. on: June 16, 2023, 09:47:19 PM
Centralized coins can easily be controlled by the SEC which is much like the plan of BlackRock to control the Bitcoin market. The SEC doesn't even have to distinguish them as security but why are they threatened so much as about those coins? Because despite the fact it's centralized, they still couldn't control it. They may be shitcoins but SEC still have no gloves to wear to get hold of them.

Suppose we say you're right and SEC is really just pushing for the reform in the Altcoin world (I don't even think it's reform to me this is literally just purge all altcoins), what's going to happen to the rest of the "not shitcoins" spectrum of the altcoin industry? Are they going to be regulated? Are they going to be outright banned/sanctioned? Isn't that a little tyrannical? I need my questions answered since to me, this "targeted" attack isn't so laser-precision as they try to make it out to be, it seems to me that if they were to carry on with this move they'll endanger the future of the industry by outright limiting the altcoins that could operate. Be that as it may shitcoins still drive profit in the industry, so I say we gotta take the good with the bad you know.

Plus even if they did only intend to attack shitcoins and not bitcoins, their attempts had left bitcoin in a pretty precarious state price-wise. It's been sitting pretty nicely in the 27k mark for a while now and then they decided they'd go after binance and coinbase, cause they are selling and allowing unregulated securities to operate, which then lead to bitcoin losing value in a jiffy cause these platforms hold massive influence in the industry.

SEC is up for a fight so they'd gonna have a fight that they might not win in the end because no matter what those shitcoins can just go on and move to another country. Its borderless so they'll just leave SEC for whatever they can do.
1395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 16, 2023, 09:27:49 PM

Money creates an opportunity to make money thru investments, if you don't have money yep it's going to be a waste of skills.
But earning a few BTC can be easy for those who learn well in BTC and crypto, especially skilled individuals who know how to write codes and articles. Knowledge is to be combined with skills, opportunity, and a bit of luck.  People around here are even using the signature money they have to invest, it's not just for beer and gambling.

1396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think topics/discussion on gambling addictions is too much on: June 16, 2023, 09:10:19 PM
You think there should be another subforum for it? It's not a bad idea. I know it's something to talk about when a person has been dealing with it but it's best when done in person. A help group that will hear out each other's stories.

There is likely a local group in every city these days as gambling addiction is in every city. Those people are the ones that cried their sorrows for help. It's not a bad idea as most people are actually lonely.
1397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can One's Religion Compel A Compulsive Gambler To Quit Gambling on: June 16, 2023, 09:05:19 PM
Is it possible that he will continue playing but secretly?

All he needs is a phone to play just about any casino game he wants and he can play in public as long as no one is looking down his shoulder. Religion is not a very good combination when you are into casinos. But the goal of playing casino is to win and make money, religion will not make you money. AS a matter of fact, you lose more when you're required to give to those cults.

Someone must be in the church this gambler like so much such as a woman. That woman can change a gambler to stop the habit. Religion helped in a bit to unite them together.

1398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 16, 2023, 08:55:30 PM

It's not a violation to kick his leg, right? Once Chandler sees he can't go near Conor, that's the easiest spot.

Speaking of Conor McGregor, it looks like he has himself a new problem as a woman has come forward to say he raped her at game 4 of the NBA playoffs. Not sure how much truth their is to the story as I believed McGregor was happily married and in a committed relationship, but he’s going to have to address this situation either way.
There is a bit more info of how that all happened (might) https://www.sportingnews.com/au/mma/news/conor-mcgregor-rape-allegation-sexual-assault-nba-heat-nuggets/l15tcic8d0bcr8yi3ehtnx13.
There arre so much details given, almost every step of that crime can be visualised. And is the proof that this all is fake. It is a huge public place. It is pinned with security cameras everywhere. Every step Conor made can be checked. And it is Conor, he has been covered by fans with mobiles and cameras all around. If he has really did something, a lot of people must have filmed it.
I like the part when she has repeatedly elbowed him, and escaped numerous guards. Yeah, elbowed a pro fighter and escaped his clinch while being shocked. Some kind of Jason Bourne in womans disguise.
We’ll have to see what happens. I tend to think a guy as rich as Conor could probably buy whatever he wanted, including company for a night, not that he would need to. It doesn’t make a lot of sense for him to rape a random woman, but who knows. Maybe he’s still so roided out he can’t control his actions or something.

I think this is just some attention-seeking he trying to scam some money out of Connor McGregor. We are watching that happen a little too often right now. A few days ago, this happened with Neymar. And later we came to know from the CCTV footage that Neymar was not in the wrong. But right now this is the culture of USA women. They try to get with rich people and if they fail their file for rape charges against that man, they tried to have a relationship with them.

This is likely the truth. Conor is a rich man just like Micheal Jackson who can easily be a target of a criminal whose looking for a cow to milk. And there's literally a "Criminal Lawyer" ready for this because it's also publicity. Conor can bed a woman anytime he wants in his private yacht. It doesn't make sense, he can pay women at many as he wants why would he be involved in something that can end his freedom?

Yes, that indeed took away the doubts surrounding Lopez because defeating someone like Josh Taylor, that is still in his prime, yes, is truly a feat that not everybody can do and achieve, yet he did it. Anyway, I'm curious though what's the take away because few days before the fight night, Teo's father is already confident that his son will win and that if his son will be defeated, the fight was rigged. I mean, there should be some signs you know.

Any father will support their kid no matter what, some father will even cheat for their kid to win but thats not I think what happens. Teo won thats a fact but they can't discount the fact that Taylor had to lose weight to fight him. Taylor being dehydrated gives Teo the spead advantage to win the fight against an already beaten up fighter while it lasted 12 rounds with 3 US judges. It may look good in the record but is UD, they will have rematch I guess on fairer weight class.
1400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 15, 2023, 06:25:57 PM
I don’t think a villain is even going to work because Khamzat Chimaev is actually a great villain who started to make some noise. But he is not as interesting as he was before.

The only thing that is going to skyrocket the popularity of the UFC again is someone like Conor McGregor or Muhammad Ali. These are the people who are the best at selling fights. They can talk so well that they can sell almost anything. We know that the fighters which are emerging from Chechnya, the homeland of Khabib Nurmagomedov are very good, but I don’t think they are good at selling fights. And if a fighter cannot get people to see him fight it does not matter to some extent how he fights.

Regards

Duke
Khamzat Chimaev, in terms of showman and promoter, is absolutely nothing compared to Conor McGregor.
Just have a look at this legendary weigh-in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGWb1DRo_mo
Have a look at this legendary celebration of second belt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Szj21arytU
Have a look at this too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOl7x8eF8Fs

There are tons of videos, tons of moments that Conor made memorably, not in a good way but his actions payed well. Or one should be as furious as Mike Tyson to sell fights but we have no one like Mike in UFC, Chechen fighters win fights but their fight style is very boring, boxing sells better than wrestling. Yes, Dustin Poirier is a good boxer, for example but not as furious as Mike Tyson, he is very soft compared to Mike. AS it seems, the ship is sinking without Conor. Conor's unique ability was that he was spitting on opponents faces but he was beating them after that.

Conor still appears in the Miami Heat game which he hit the mascot twice that end the mascot guy in ER, this is in relation to promoting a pain relief spray. Yep, he really can promote a product but this time he is in limbo while Dana lost the money makers including the recent Nunes.

Khamzat is one big bogeyman who can promote but it's just not a good timing when it comes to geopolitics. There was a time when Fedor can bring a crowd to UFC.
