141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralization is a false proposition on: May 08, 2024, 11:50:20 PM
Bitcoin is not one of the best but is the best .

The reason I can think of for its authenticity and effectiveness is that it was created by satoshi not for profit but for genuine hope of utilization. Satoshi disappearing implied a lot of things and personally to me it meant that he was not interested with making money off of bitcoin and that is something a lot of projects can never seem to do.

I can agree that it's the best in decentralization, with all the altcoins out there that seeks to be the best in something, I think that there's not a lot of them that are on the spectrum of best in terms of being decentralized. I'm a bit skeptical on that personal implication for the disappearance, there's lots of things that can make someone go away, not just because they don't want to make money out of their creation but seeing how Satoshi is when it comes to the stuff that he's talking about, I'm a bit inclined to believe too that he's doing something, for me though I just felt like the reason for him/her/them leaving is they want to see if the experiment would be a success without some form of intervention coming from them.
142  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best game provider? on: May 08, 2024, 02:35:28 PM
This has to be some of the weirdest astroturfing I have seen.

OP, of you own this site, you can make a simple announcement thread instead of this mess.
Secondly, your website is region blocking users. The linked casino seems to only be accepting users from certain regions, probably only the UK, and blocks everyone else. Honestly no reason to promote region blocking casinos in an international forum...
OP probably knows that he can do it but chose not to because he feels like his thread wouldn't last much longer there and so OP did this, arguably a bad decision but promotion and publicity is still gained on this one. Did check it, the same thing happens to me too, I guess that's the thing that will happen when you don't think through what you want to do.
143  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Play-to-Airdrop (Worth it kaya?) on: May 08, 2024, 11:01:49 AM
144  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Paldo.io — Farm Airdrops, the Easier and Safer Way on: May 08, 2024, 07:44:43 AM
147  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Scam phone call scheme on: May 08, 2024, 04:17:56 AM
148  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Ambulance - Campaign - Ukraine on: May 08, 2024, 02:39:54 AM
Love this initiative, war really has no bounds and I don't think that Putin should stay in power, someone needs to get this man out of the picture, people in Russia should be against this because they're going to be affected by this too right? I don't think that they'd ever want to be participating in this war too nor do they want to see their loved ones participate and then go back home amputated or in the coffin. I would donate in ETH if that's okay, I don't want to move my bitcoin as much as I like too. I hope that with this initiative, others will get the inspiration to do one for the Palestinians displaced from their homeland, they need the attention too. I hope that last part doesn't offend anyone here in the thread.

I hope that this will go a long away even if it's peanuts.

149  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy re-start 2020 in process 2025 crash on: May 08, 2024, 01:59:15 AM
Man, do I hope that it's going to be the case for USD, that would mean that the US government will lose about half of it's influence if it ever goes down, lots of people would celebrate but I have to tell you this OP, US dollar won't go down so easily, of that I'm sure because as I've said, the US government has the influence right? Which means that they're going to want to keep that power and influence so they'll do everything that they can to keep that power and influence for themselves, look at the news about the seizures of a lot of these crypto wallets and mixers, they don't like the idea that other countries especially the rouge ones getting ahead with their dollar accumulation and so the US try their best to get all of them.
150  Economy / Economics / Re: Your aging and retirement plan is your responsibility. on: May 08, 2024, 01:04:59 AM
Retirement plans are important irrespective of what part of the world one is. While working, you need to make plans to stop working someday, because overtime you may not be able to continue doing the work/job. For some, this retirement plan is getting a business for themselves, or finally doing something for themselves, and not always working just to fit in.
That's the mindset that everyone should have but the problem is that it's probably a bad idea to be saying that to everyone because not every person can afford to do that, take a look at me for example, I grew up in a poor neighborhood and I haven't seen a lot of people trying to go for saving for their retirement because most of them if not everyone in that neighborhood is trying to survive on a day to day basis, they don't have a stable job and they don't have the skills to qualify for a steady job, they're mostly living through hustles and side jobs that would lead to them having shortage of money, most of the time, the money that they get from their side jobs end up being not enough for them for the day that they're already happy about it despite not having any money left. My point is that even if thinking about your retirement and planning ahead is the right thing to do, it might not apply to some people because of how they are with their life.
151  Economy / Economics / Re: Not your keys not your funds Banks on: May 07, 2024, 05:42:11 PM
Bro, you're not being honest, you're just stating facts that's already known by a lot of people and you're not unique in your insights, people have known about that part ever since, I mean we've all been introduced into crypto with the fact that if it's not your keys then it's not your coins, people with some common sense could've easily compared and made the assumption. Tell us something new, most of us hate the banking institution already, what's there to hate other than the already stated facts by other people? Also, even if you do want to look cool hating on banks, you still can't go out there and be too much of a crypto supremacist because most people when they get too large of amount of bitcoin or any cryptocurrency, they still need banks to benefit from their profits.
152  Economy / Economics / Re: Banning of p2p on crypto apps in Nigeria on: May 07, 2024, 04:52:12 PM
I imagine P2P naira transactions also aid money laundering as well. (I am not Nigerian.)
But it won't stop the money laundering syndicate from doing this though, they will all end up just finding more craftier ways to circumvent the existing restriction and at the end of the day, the people that they're going to mess up good will be the ones that don't have anything to do with money laundering. So in short, the attempt to prevent money launderers from committing their crimes, they end up making them much more sneakier, they could've just kept P2P and those money launderers wouldn't be straying to new ways and their work would be much more easier.
153  Economy / Economics / Re: US lawmakers urge SEC to approve Bitcoin options trading on: May 07, 2024, 04:17:48 PM
binance and all other exchanges already have options trading so there is no use in holding it back. but once again this is going to make it hard for BTC to rise because this will be used to manipulate prices. if back in the days when there were no huge institutions yet the whales could suppress the price.

this time it will be a climb for the price despite the halving. of course, the SEC will approve it. may the force be with them.
Probably the reason for the hold up is that they don't know how they can benefit from it, that's the only way that I see it, they don't know how to maximize their control on bitcoin options trading that's within the companies or trading groups that are within their circle. Plus with all the news about the Samourai, Wasabi, Roger Ver which are mostly negative, the SEC probably don't want to risk the flak they might get off of these events that would affect their decision, you know, not wanting the approval lead to bitcoin options becoming a flop because people don't want to risk it because the negative news are still fresh that people might associate bitcoin with it.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Your Country Who Gamble More? Young Ones or Elderly Ones on: May 07, 2024, 03:46:42 PM
In my country both old and young are into gambling. The young now gamble online by predicting national sport like football and they also visit casino hall to bet, while the old play traditional game and stick their money and the person that happens to win go home with the loser's money. The rate at which the young and the elderly ones are so addicted to gambling is not really helping the society.
That's the effect of gambling, it's not going to go away anytime soon because the old and young are getting addicted to it, and we all know how habits are when they start to form, they will eventually take root and in the worst case, become and addiction. I think that I see more young people but I don't think not too young though that's gambling more than the elderly, I sometimes pass by some gambling places that are supposed to be filled with people that are of the old age, back then there's a lot of them but now, it's a little bit different because I've seen some of them already on the midrange of age so I'd lean more on the fact that there's more young gamblers now than old gamblers.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is more regulation coming to online gambling? on: May 07, 2024, 02:39:38 PM
Gambling has existed for thousands of years and will exist as long as there are people - and the authorities always knew that people should be given "bread and games" in order to control them more easily. The only thing is how much of the cake the authorities want, and given that it is a very profitable business, I think they will always be able to agree on the terms.
I agree with that, I think that they're going to get more rampant now more than ever because there's more streamers that are promoting gambling websites in my country and I don't think that the government would ever want their "cake" or piece of the gambling pie to be too low so I'm sure that they're making a move already about the taxation and regulations.

They've already done this during the pandemic which I applaud because there's no way to make a lot of money at that time and online cockfighting is becoming a hobby for many people at that time because they're stagnating in their house and they want something to do and it just so happens that gambling has been a thing that popped up and they decided that it's worth the risk and then the government got the wind that it's becoming a problem and they've immediately banned those websites to prevent people from using the cash injections they receive from the government to gamble their money away on those online cockfights.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Max Win is the worst thing that could happen to you. on: May 07, 2024, 06:03:48 AM
Well, this time i have 3 questions for the community, i want to see what people think about how gambling works nowadays.

If you could do KYC process before making a deposit, would you do it?

When a user wins a huge amount the real nightmare starts, the users have to complete the worst KYC process he will see in his life, so, should users be afraid of getting a Max Win?

Casinos ask for KYC to avoid money laundering, but if the gambler isn't able to give the requested data then the casino keeps the money. If the casino keeps the money isn't that Money laundering?
All of this questions could've been avoided if you ask me just by doing your research first regarding the casino that you want to play to, finding out their KYC policy, if their support is responsive and helpful most of the time or all of the time, that would've been the way to go with these questions, then you wouldn't have the headache of experiencing all of this because you've done your research. I don't know what to answer about the last one though, that's something that casino owners/management will have to talk to you about. On your first question though, I'd say that I'd do it and if I did my research on their casino, it won't be a question no more, on the second question, I'd say that you shouldn't be afraid of getting that max win, long as you comply and you did good, you are on the right and if they don't hold their end of the bargain, you're probably going to get more when you sue them.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accumulating Bitcoin or trading Bitcoin which is more wise to do. on: May 07, 2024, 04:40:27 AM
When you accumulate, you only profit bitcoin but when you trade bitcoin, you risk losing your investment because you've got a gut feel that it's the right thing to do and then you're wrong which leads to you losing your money, that's how it's going to be when it comes to trading. Sure there are the chance that you can make your trading profitable but why risk going there if you know it will take you a long time to get there when you can just accumulate and keep a steady and stressless life. It's up to you at the end of the day but choose the hardships that you want to face in your life.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bull in Altcoins Sector on: May 07, 2024, 04:04:26 AM
While altcoins market has shown some recovery over the past week but I think is premature that altcoins market is in uptrend. The improvement in prices can be attributed to the price recovery in Bitcoin market after its fall to the extent of $54K during the period of FOMC meeting. Bitcoin is currently trading around $63,600 which is more or less indicating sideways trading. Bitcoin should stay around this level for few days, leading to decline in Bitcoin dominance index, only then we can expect sustained recovery in alts market. DYOR
Totally agree with you, I feel like altcoin season is still a thing and it's a bit weird that we forget it happens after the bitcoin bull market, whatever pump is happening now is probably not that significant compared to what's about to happen when the altcoin season happens. Totally agree with the DYOR part and I think that people should do this more often instead of relying on what other traders are saying, DYOR is difficult at first but the moment that you get the gist and flow of it, it's not going to be that difficult anymore and you'd be surprised at the stuff that you're going to see and bad altcoins that you would've otherwise invested into if you weren't doing your research.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana price predictions and developement? on: May 07, 2024, 03:34:29 AM
In my opinion, Solana is one of the altcoins that has very high potential and popularity in the crypto market, even though currently Solana is rarely talked about, Solana is very worthy of being a long-term investment, the proof is that up to now Solana can still survive and still is in the top 10 CMC, to be honest, I personally still keep Solana even though it's not that much, but the profits I get now are very good,
With the way they manage their network congestion right now, that's going to be a thing that we won't see very soon, they need to deal with the congestion in the network first before that can happen and despite how easy it is to navigate their network and the projects and airdrops that are working on them, I hold on to hope that they're going to be really big someday, they've been making a lot of projects as of late and it's not something that I'm going to be dismissive about, them projects will just keep on making Solana more renowned to more and more people and potential investors.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what things to do when crypto loss is there on: May 07, 2024, 02:57:26 AM
You probably need to stop trading because you're clearly not good at it and you're just keep on losing your money which isn't the best thing for you, I do hope that you just buy that $100 that's left of you with bitcoin or maybe some stable altcoin like ETH, you don't want to end up losing that money anyway, just do the easy route of hodling and waiting rather than doing the risky one of losing your money, maybe you can get more in the risky path of cryptocurrency but you've already experienced your losses so that should be the deciding factor for you already.
