1401  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens if I lost my phone and that is how I access my accounts?? on: January 29, 2019, 11:57:23 PM
The recovery codes that should be used with a 2FA application like Authy or Google don't really need to be printed, either- there's always the possibility that a printer connected to the internet has been compromised as well. I personally write down my 2FA recovery codes and keep them in a dark and dry place that I can somewhat easily access in case I lose a device. I haven't yet needed to use any of the codes, but always be ready for the worst.
1402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much bitcoin has been made by ... ? on: January 29, 2019, 09:41:55 PM
It's completely normal to be suspicious of posts from members that are being paid to post on this forum and in other places, but most of the time I find those with signatures from higher-quality campaigns like Bitblender and Chipmixer make high-quality posts that make sense, are easy to read, provide legitimate advice, and most importantly contribute to the great big community that is Bitconitalk. There's obviously some people that do shill their signatures, but if you've got a problem with this, the ignore button is always there.
1403  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does any exchange has bitcoin freeze function? on: January 29, 2019, 09:29:45 PM
Not that I know of. You could always try contacting the support of any exchange of your choice and ask them to lock your coins up with no option for release until a certain date and you might be able to work something like that out, but I don't think I've ever seen any sort of 'freeze' function on any major exchange. Interesting idea though.
1404  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think, will running a site like this be profitable ? on: January 29, 2019, 09:20:32 PM
Meh. The entire site seems very basic, clicked on it and the registration process was about what you'd expect from any site. If you plan on launching this site, though, I would suggest allowing users to actually view the site and what it's about instead of forcing a login and/or registration for new users, as I would've just left this site upon viewing the initial page if I didn't have the intention of reviewing it.

It may also just be me, but I have no idea what this site is about at all from reading the "How it Works" page. I'm still not sure how to generate a seed to actually enter the game; perhaps a simpler how-to page could be made.
1405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 3 Decentralized Exchanges to Consider Using This 2019 on: January 29, 2019, 02:46:54 AM
I used the Waves DEX a year ago back when I was experimenting with different altcoins and I found the entire experience to be pretty decent (was mostly trading the WGR/BTC pair IIRC). The platform is mostly oriented towards pairs with WAVES, but there is still decent volume with other pairs involving BTC and such, and the volume for the exchange isn't too bad for a DEX. I'm still definitely going to check out the exchanges listed here though, can't hurt to have more options for DEXes.
1406  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Www.bitwinex.co _ Is it a SCAM ? on: January 29, 2019, 02:38:13 AM
I dont really even see the purpose of using a lesser known exchange to trade crypto- there are plenty of options out there for trading without KYC if that's what you wish to go for, and these days, verification through KYC on most exchanges isn't as tedious as it used to be back at the ATH as demand's largely disappeared for exchanges. It's always best to stick to the larger and better-known exchanges if you're looking for a less risky option to trade. It's not worth risking your money on something like this.

The purpose of this thread may very well be the owner of this site trying to promote his/her scam exchange as well or something of the sort, though I do find it more likely OP legitimately wants to know if this site is legit, which it is most likely not.
1407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Want to be a profitable gambler? on: January 28, 2019, 11:58:17 PM
Nobody's going to be perfect in betting. ven tipsters are going to occasionally have loss streaks and periods where there's more losses than wins. No matter what route you're taking in gambling, you'll need to learn risk management and how much money to put on each match you bet on, as without this a few losses can easily wipe you out if you're just straight betting and not doing something like arbitrage.

Asking for some proof and perhaps a few free picks can never hurt if you're trying to find a tipster as BTCevo mentioned. There used to many many tipsters in this part of the forum, providing both paid and free picks, but I haven't seen very many around here recently.
1408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to secure your wallet from scammer on: January 28, 2019, 11:37:42 PM
Airgapping a computer's indeed the best way to proceed if you're not willing to buy a hardware wallet. There's a decent article at the bitcoin.it forum explaining the basics of this process if you're not sure how to go about airgapping a computer as well, though I'm sure there's other guides out there on the Internet as well.

Hardware wallets have been dropping in price quite a bit recently; I can find a Trezor or Ledger for less than $40 on a site like eBay now, though there's always a security risk with those devices even if they appear to be new. If you do choose to buy a hardware wallet, make sure you're making a new seed upon using the hardware wallet for the first time and you're not using anything already written down as the seed- there's still a scam going around where some wallets come with pre-filled seed recovery codes controlled by a scammer with Ledger wallets. Also make sure to reset the device's settings completely upon receipt.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this year be favourable to you? on: January 28, 2019, 11:29:14 PM
Hasn't been too great for me personally; I bought much of my BTC at much lower prices than we are at right now, and though I'm technically not at a loss yet, I've lost a lot of profit by holding, though I do not plan on selling off the majority of my stash yet. Gambling has been the same-old same-old recently; I'm currently in the green with CS:GO betting as usual. Hopefully we don't see too many crypto services or casinos go under in this bear market, though- I suspect we'll be at current BTC price levels for years 'till we go back up.
1410  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i want to buy 30 BTC, whats the best way ? on: January 25, 2019, 12:34:09 AM
If you do choose to buy coins through something like wire transfer on a P2P platform like Paxful or Localbitcoins, it's best to split up your transactions so you don't get scammed off of one 30 BTC order. The best way for you to buy coins by far is just to simply use an exchange with the amount you're talking about if you care about security- there's almost no queue for verification on most exchanges anymore due to a significant drop in demand for exchange services as we're currently in a bear market.

so can you name some best cryptocurrency exchanges ?
Some decent crypto exchanges have already been listed earlier in this thread, but a few of them you could try using include Coinbase and Kraken. There's really no 'best' exchange as there are always people with bad experiences on every single exchange, and no exchange is perfect, but for the most part the listed exchanges should be fine for buying a quantity like 30 BTC.
1411  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Miningrigrentals price competitive? on: January 25, 2019, 12:27:58 AM
Yup, just did a comparison of prices with Nicehash and Miningrigrentals and it seems Miningrigrentals is indeed more expensive than Nicehash by a bit, as the average price per PH daily on MRR is currently around 0.05, whereas you'll get something like 0.046-0.48 with standard Nicehash contracts. Here are the links to the SHA256 rental pages for both services if you'd like to compare yourself, just click on the bolded words to go to the links. Nicehash MiningRigRentals. I personally use both services, but I like to use MRR more than Nicehash usually as I feel the site interface is better (I've used the service for a few years), and I can see lots of specifics on the rig I'm renting on MRR. If you're looking for the cheaper option, though, Nicehash is the way to go.
1412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can someone help me? on: January 24, 2019, 09:19:38 PM
So basically merit is not worth more than posts. I still don't understand one thing, did I see a thread earlier that said "I bought 10 merit, will give to different high-quality posts", can you actually buy merit and if so what is the point then?
Sales of merits on this forum are generally frowned upon and you will usually be tagged with negative red reputation if you're caught trying to buy merit, and merit is absolutely worth more than posts if you're interested in ranking up on this forum, as merits are a requirement for ranking up as AhmadM quoted. The post you saw before is likely a sort of merit giveaway where people quote their 'best' posts and attempt to get merits for the posts in question, not a merit sale.

1414  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to start a bitcoin exchange on: January 24, 2019, 03:24:09 PM
The ico route might actually not be the best way to raise funds for any sort of project considering all of crypto is in a bear market right now and investor confidence is extremely low in addition, but if you haven't got any funds to start a trading platform by yourself, it's definitely a possible way to go forwards. You'll need to raise a very large amount of funds, though, and unless you offer some features significantly better than those of other exchanges, then you likely won't get many users on your platform at first as well.
1415  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Spam site on: January 24, 2019, 03:16:16 PM
Its already 2019 and I am not sure why there are still people falling for this kind of scam. Its pretty obvious on the first glance, you should know almost in an instant if the site is just scam or not. Promising fixed returns after XX number of days is red flag.
I've been wondering the same thing for a pretty long time, but I suspect we won't ever be completely able to stop people from getting scammed as there's always new people coming into crypto that don't do as much research or have as much know-how as people like us on the forums that are in the know about the scams in crypto. Best thing we can do here is just to remind people that sites with returns that are too good to be true aren't legit, and teach people about signs of scams as much as possible here.
1416  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcointalk.org related 1 more website is live on: January 23, 2019, 10:46:47 PM
There's really nothing wrong with launching anything new related to Bitcoin- I personally welcome anyone and any service without malicious intent, as new platforms also help adoption and also help newbies find the information they're searching for, but I'm personally not using this site because of OP's trust ratings (click here to view)- people seem to be referencing a bitcoin doubler the OP tried to make a while back, and I don't want to use the forums of someone that's tried to scam people in the past. I also see nothing on this forum that improves signficantly over what Bitcointalk offers either.
1417  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitrefill conversion rate on: January 23, 2019, 10:08:45 PM
Bitrefill does have an active bitcointalk account here (click to go to link), just sent the account a message regarding how the conversion rate's calculated to the account. Hope we'll have a response soon. I did some searching and I found a tweet from the Bitrefill Twitter account from a while back stating they took their exchange rates from Bitpay's highest ask rate or something of the sort plus a certain %- pretty sure that's not the case now, but it's something.
1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: received 500 free satoshi? on: January 23, 2019, 09:10:28 PM
I was browsing my wallet details on Blockchain's explorer, and after doing some digging into who might've sent me the coins, I stumbled upon this thread. My transaction happened to come from the tx eb475a400defc4d3223be7dd8c1afb73fc6f558220770ac55601b030d5312b91 and the same address as listed in the OP, 1ViViGLEawN27xRzGrEhhYPQrZiTKvKLo. Seems like this is coming from a service named Vivigle that specialized in 'rating' cryptocurrency, funnily enough I am getting a "C" looking up my wallet on their site. I don't appreciate spam at all and I'd rather have one less transaction than one or two cents coming into my wallet, though. I combine transactions every few months on purpose so that I don't get increased fees on every transaction I make, and this just sets me back every time I clean up my wallet(s). Definitely seems like Vivigle's trying to advertise itself through this new form of advertisement, though having to Google the wallet address just to find out where the coins are from doesn't seem very efficient for advertisement to me.
1419  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin exchange on: January 23, 2019, 01:04:55 AM
Localbitcoins and Paxful are pretty decent options in general except for the occasional complaint here and there. Most of the scamming you find going on with P2P exchange sites like the sites I just mentioned is related to the people themselves and usually involves payment methods that can be reversed like PayPal. There's lots of account selling for Localbitcoins accounts from what I've seen recently, so even a trader with thousands of trades may be attempting to scam, but in general both sites are very good options for buying Bitcoin if you don't want to go through an exchange and all that.
1420  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Good wallet to store Bitcoin Cash ? on: January 22, 2019, 11:17:29 PM
If you're going for medium or long-term cold storage, consider getting one or two Ledger/Trezor wallets. Either one works as long as the devices are genuine. Trezor provides a guide here (click here) if you're unsure if your device is genuine, and Ledger also provides a pretty comprehensive guide (click here) to ensuring your device is genuine as well. As for the usability and which one to get, I personally prefer the Ledger wallet as that was my first hardware wallet and I like the form factor of the Ledger more personally, but either the Ledger or Trezor works in the end as they're both very secure devices to use for cold storage if the correct precautions are taken.
