1481  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people give preferential treatment to mothers more than fathers on: November 24, 2023, 08:54:44 PM
It's part of mother's nature I guess that they're more caring and that's why they're recognized and treated more fairly than the fathers.

But there's no need to go into sides because both mothers and fathers are sacrificing things for their family. Although there are cases that there are both mothers and fathers that are irresponsible to their families.

I'd say that they're just like isolated case and the majority of us are into the caring and taking side of our families.
1482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: November 24, 2023, 08:22:01 PM
It's not about boredom if it's Bitcoin but about the focused of most people that are involved in here. But because the early adopters have seen that there can still be some upgrade that they can do for Bitcoin but they can't apply on it, they have made their own solutions through different altcoins.

But if we only have Bitcoin that's existing as of now, we would have that much value for Bitcoin. But it's okay, we're going to that point soon that most of these alts will be eliminated and there will be a few of them remaining while supporting Bitcoin still as the top 1.
In the end Altcoin will only wait for their deaths after a few years they are running and receive market attention, because they only focus on certain technological categories so that if they are not needed again they will die by themselves, while Bitcoin is outline is the most revolutionary discovery and Can adapt to all kinds of industrial needs, as well as why Bitcoin will always survive because Bitcoin is not only made as a currency but as a store of value of all that exists.

I am aggree with the sentence that the existence of Altcoin shows that competition and development of the cryptocurrency industry is increasingly widespread, with the Altcoin project that is marketed by the developer so that the common adoption of Crypto will ultimately recognize Bitcoin because of Altcoin, I think it does bring knowledge to the development of popularity .
Yup.

That's what will happen to most of the alts when majority of the people understands the concept of owning Bitcoin. We'll still have a lot of alts by that time.

But there's going to be a purge that's likely to happen by that time because everyone sees that there's going to be a significance of owning Bitcoin rather than having majority of the alts and diversify on them.
1483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: November 24, 2023, 07:34:49 PM
I cherish the competition that exists among the cryptocurries, the competition has been what has driven bitcoin into the the hearts of the adopters, if there wasn't competition it would have been a boring crypto space and people would not have taken bitcoin so seriously as they do currently.

1484  Economy / Economics / Re: Usdt tether buying btc the USDT might decouple of real USD on: November 24, 2023, 06:57:02 PM
Tether buying btc to back up USDT with valued asset.
It can only means that USDT might decouple of the USD.
Could be Bretton woods moment here.
This is what Do Kwon and associates did to Luna. They've bought BTC to backed their project (Luna) and we've seen what happened next to their project affiliates which includes their UST.

The next year we could see USDT value against USD will grow.
It is tied to USD and that's why I don't think that it's going to be against with each other. But if there can be scenarios that are going to happen, the more likely to happen is the devaluing or depegging of it to USD.

But are we going to see that? I don't think so, it's the most used stable coin and many prefer it so depegging is unlikely.
1485  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your big plans for the Bitcoin halving coming up in a few months? on: November 24, 2023, 06:28:26 PM
What are your plans for the upcoming halving?
Nothing unusual but to keep on accumulating as well and try to keep away from the temptation of selling early.

I have got plans when I should sell and that must be after the halving and when it has pumped a lot. I have some numbers on my mind but whether they're reached or not, I'll have to decide whether to sell or not.

But even so, I am likely to sell no matter what happens because I have got some plans to buy something big for myself.
1486  Other / Off-topic / Re: Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming on: November 24, 2023, 05:52:20 PM
What a coincidence, I have been watching GTA 5 streamers since yesterday.  Tongue

I am not yet done with GTA 4 and haven't played that much with my GTA V and GTA 6 is coming.  Roll Eyes

I have watched some reels about the GTA 6 and some devs also leaked images of it. Yeah, possible that it's for real and we have to wait for the oficial announcement til' it finally come.

Do you mind sharing which streamer do you watch the most?

I used to be more of a 'summit1g' fan back then.  Grin
No streamer that I watch but if you want to watch one then just go to twitch and check the categories of GTA 5.

They are just popping on my account but a portion of their replays that I watch. And that's the one that I like to watch and not entirely a stream of theirs.

Anyway, I'll check that guy you've mentioned.
1487  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: November 24, 2023, 12:14:39 PM
Live frugally mate.

Even if you've got a lot of money ready to be spent. Don't be too hasty with that and always think of the needs instead of your wants. Because when you follow your desires to buy those wants of yours, you're going to spend carelessly.

And if you're going to think of saving, just save it. If you have a salary, get some portion first to save like 5%-10% and less it first before the expenses.
1488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Something you don't have to forget on: November 24, 2023, 03:22:57 AM
Yeah, many have already lost their Bitcoins forever because of forgetting the keys, seeds, etc. of their wallets.

If it is not for those early adoptions, the market wont grow this much. But thanks to them and to those lost bitcoins forever, they have already contributed to the market for having that retained value.

Probably some have died already without even telling their wallets password and recovery seeds.
1489  Other / Off-topic / Re: I saved a bird's leg and now it is free to walk better again on: November 24, 2023, 02:24:02 AM
Good job then for helping the bird.

It is possible that it just escaped from whoever entangled it with the hair. But if not then it just usually trash that has it on some disposable boxers or plastics from salon.

Anyway, small acts of kindness and help we do to our nature will be back to us in a better form just as you did to the bird.
1490  Economy / Economics / Re: fiat vs commodity on: November 24, 2023, 01:15:28 AM
It's called inflation.

That's why in the past commodities and their prices weren't that much. And due to the inflation that happens yearly or anytime of the year, the price increases and that makes the value of fiat even lesser.

As for bitcoin, it's a deflationary cryptocurrency and we know that in the future the value of it becomes higher due to having a limited supply.

When you have that much money, don't keep them in fiat. But don't forget to at least save for some things that you need to spend it with cash and when you want to have high liquidity of your money.
thats right even deposits in bank can't truly contend against the inflation which means even if we supposedly invest our money, we still losing our share of wealth value anyway.
I think trying to find alternative investment where it can give us better return is essential in this case, considering the fact that inflation has been rising quite high these past few years due to geopolitical reasons.
investing in cryptocurrency, stocks and many more might prove to be beneifical at time like this even more so when the crisis could hit anytime.
but I think many people still don't have a clue about that, even don't have a clue that their salary should supposedly rise with the coming of inflation but many of them have unincreasing salary.
when it comes to fiat vs commodity, i'd honestly hold into commodity, just for the sake of avoiding inflation altogether. but can't refute the fact that fiat is still that convenient.
Yes. That is the reason why it seems our money becomes less if we deposit them in the bank. The value of it depreciates due to inflation. If you are a saver, it is okay to practice that principle but you should save to invest.

Because if you won't do something to make use of your money in investments, the banks are the ones that will make use of it and in return, they will give you very small amount of interest.

Investing in any asset you know is recommended.

1492  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can government track us. on: November 23, 2023, 11:23:03 PM
If I wanted to know something from people on this community, can government track us if we questions against there rules and laws or if they find it inappropriate.
Yes, they can track you if you have registered to an exchange and you fully submitted your identities to them which indicates the address you have.

That's what KYCs are for and that's the compliance that the exchanges does for the favor of the government if ever they want to check some of their customers or everyone that uses them.

It can be for tax purposes, tracking of criminals, etcs.
1493  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is sex education bad on a child? on: November 23, 2023, 10:53:55 PM
Their curiosity is going to put them in danger if they are not going to be educated.

This is a problem for how many generations and still, it doesn't stop a lot of teenage pregnancy.

It is good to let them know the dangers of it if done before their marriage. Not just physically, mentally but also financially.
That is why we need to provide proper education and not just something  that tells them this and that.

Children must learn this in lighter way than how we have learn this from our experiences .

Let their young mind be ready first and yes let them have better understanding .
As parents, we need to educate them first and have a conversation to open their minds why they need to think of it before being curious.

It's not the life that they're going to like when they do it unprepared. No one is stopping them when they're on the right age and they're financially and mentally well.

But when they're still not on the right age, there are a lot of consequences that will stop them to live the best life that they can as they grow older.
1494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Someone just paid 83BTC for transaction fee, on: November 23, 2023, 10:22:18 PM
Millions just to make a mistake? Come on.

Someone who owns that much is aware on how to adjust fees and how to make transactions. Whether we give the benefit of the doubt from this transaction and whoever has done it.

It's very unlikely that someone will assume these adjustments and fees are normal and won't take a second or third look before pressing that send to proceed for the transaction.
1495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a gambler be a good bitcoin trader? on: November 23, 2023, 09:41:44 PM
As a gambler, I did traded many times before but then stopped because I did have a lot of bad trades. But that does mean that I am a bad gambler? Yes and no.

I have good trades as well.

So it can happen that a gambler can also be a good bitcoin trader or even an altcoin trader. Anyone can do that regardless of his profession or his hobbies and activities.
In short, yes, I think it can. It is very similar due to the fact that you need to make decisions based on probabilities. But everywhere we need to learn new information and improve our level, only this can lead us to success in gambling and bitcoin trading. If before this in gambling the player simply pressed one button and spun spins, then in bitcoins he will most likely press buy/sell chaotically. And if he also puts up a large leverage, then this is the same as betting the entire deposit on red in roulette.

There are even several living examples, one of them is a successful influencer who was previously very successful in poker before learning about cryptocurrencies. I am amazed by his level of knowledge and thanks to it he earned 10 times more than in poker.
Yeah, so it's the come and go from other professionals that are good in something and going on with trading and gambling.

When you're good in poker or any gambling games that requires you to think and analyze. That means that you can also analyze the trades that you're about to do for your reference.

That's why it is open for everybody to take their own journeys in trading if they're a gambler and they want to try something new. And from this forum, many of us are both.
1496  Other / Off-topic / Re: reminder: don't trust antivirus on: November 23, 2023, 01:48:28 PM
Remember that there's this belief on who creates the viruses and the antidotes? They're both the same people if you've watched it somewhere from various movies, etcs.

But some of these antiviruses are truly good in giving us notifications on which apps should be avoided based on the contents of it. They're detecting it and that's a good help.

If someone randomly downloads on the web named "antivirus" in general, a lot of unknown names in the antivirus field might be suggested made by cons.

That I agree.
I think OP is just trying to figure out if somehow there's a resemblance in different industries because they are both incorporated with risk.
Trading requires a lot of patience and somehow the chances of having a good trade will depend on how we read the analysis.
No such thing when it comes to casino games because all you have is rely on luck.
Better, I'd probably compare trading with sports betting. Analysis is also needed there to enhance the chances of winning because there are strong fighters/boxers/teams out there which could be a mismatch to their opponents. I mean the odds are there for a reason because analysis is being done and some of them are too strong which is also the reason why they put handicaps on weaker opponents.
For sports bettors who made it a serious hobby, these statistics will help them find the lower risk bet but with better profits. It's not always accurate but somehow because of that research, we could increase the percentage to win.
Yeah, not a bad comparison but there's resemblance from analyzing sports that you are about to bet and the same goes with trading.

The risk is always there and analysis is helping us to make better decisions with basis so, you're not wholly relying to luck even if you can trade and bet recklessly.

Also, accompany it with experiences and you'll be able to know the things that you have to do either in trading or betting.

Hey everyone! I'm Charlie a newbie in this community hoping to share some insights and gain more knowledge about crypto. I didn't see a newbie thread so might as well start one?  Wink Let me know if there is a thread already. Anyway, I'm looking forward to know everyone. Have a great day ya'll! Cheesy
Just go to the link provided to you by jrrsparkles. That's where most of the newbies posts their introductory threads. But there's no need for you to do that if you're already here or you can move this thread to that section.

For you to be able to do that, look down at the bottom of this page and on the left side, you'll find the move topic and bingo. That's how you can move this thread to that section.

Take a look at the pinned threads there as well. And keep asking questions to this thread if you have some on your mind.

IMHO, it's the same as the actual games that we play nowadays online.

And the same goes with socializing, you make new friends in online casinos and the same goes with online games that we play. We're increasing our network and as they say, network is net worth. LOL.

But critically thinking, how do we make friends online while gambling? Or you mean if you do chat people in the casino chat box? Well probably but I don't think I can rely on the friendship of people on the casino chat for a friendship that is meaningful and moreover you can also get scam one way or the other from their if you meet someone with bad intention. I can only associate with a physical friend offline.
Just look at our forum, we're gamblers and we make friends here. And yes, in the chat box, when we see usual names that we get to gamble everyday. We chat with them.

I don't know about you but socializing doesn't mean that you need to befriends with them.

I'm not thinking about getting scammed there but just typica socializing and having some good chitchat.

IMHO, it's the same as the actual games that we play nowadays online.

There's always the critical thinking where we need to apply that for decisions that we need. But the difference with gambling, of course there is a money that's on the line that you need to take care of.

And the same goes with socializing, you make new friends in online casinos and the same goes with online games that we play. We're increasing our network and as they say, network is net worth. LOL.
Yes, so this means that this isnt really just that talking about gambling games but also in other games as well or things that we are dealing off with. We do know that these
kind of characteristics could really be enhanced out on those various ways on which you could really be able to make yourself something more better if you are really that
sensible or really that mindful about on what you are doing. Enhancing those personal qualities and behaviors could really be achieved if you are really that been exposed
into certain conditions which it isnt really limited only by this kind of scenario but also with other situations in life on which it would really be causing
up that kind of changes or awareness of things which it would really be something beneficial on your part.
Being exposed in different situations will make you learn new things and that's in gambling as well. Aside from the given skills that have been mentioned, there are a lot more for sure.
