the first one couldn't have worked out much better in my mind
Apart from saying "backslash" when she meant "forward slash", but we can live with that!

and "no fees" when she meant "currently-very-low fees which will probably increase with time"

Breaking it into layers really sucked...

yeah coz it was a static image... what if it was a javascript puzzle with the pieces already separated and dragable? Smiley

LadyBytes is our new Bitcoin Poster Girl.

This shit is EPIC!

http://youtu.be/soGrVGlC9gw

i approve of your earlier usage of the word 'hottie'.

good job.
1524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First-Come First-Served - Round 2 [be quick!] (free btc) on: March 29, 2012, 01:32:51 AM
I would take however long it required to figure it out. And by "however long" I mean about 2 days probably. lol.

seriously? there are only 8 pieces + it's obvious where 4 of them go + i purposely made some of them non-rectangular to make it even easier. i guess i'm biased though for being around photoshop every day.

anyway if it's not redeemed by the time i get home, i'll add some more btc to it, haha.
1525  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First-Come First-Served - Round 2 [be quick!] (free btc) on: March 29, 2012, 01:20:19 AM
The process of properly piecing an image back together can be difficult by hand. Especially with only two colors and very straight lines. Also even if you get "close" the QR scanner might have trouble getting the right info out of the image.

you're right. funny that matthew said 'not a chance' he would even attempt it though... what if this kind of puzzle had 20 btc in it?
1526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First-Come First-Served - Round 2 [be quick!] (free btc) on: March 29, 2012, 01:05:37 AM
i tried scanning, not working , have you included fake QR-codes?

no, it's a real one from bitaddress.org.... i just cut it a bit in paint brush. it should be easily put back together in paint brush.

it's mainly just an example, but there's 0.01 sent to it... maybe for more difficult ones such as these, the BTC amount needs to be much higher Cheesy

how about this for a variation on the game (sorry not much there yet, i'm away from my wallet):

1528  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Girls of Reddit's r/GoneWild on: March 29, 2012, 12:01:17 AM
just had a funny thought... eventually the dudes posting photos of their dicks on 4chan etc. are also going to want to get in on this, and a shortened address might be necessary for some.
1529  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about bitcoin containers? on: March 28, 2012, 11:33:18 PM
wallet.dat = bitcoin container

could do with a rename though to something like wallet.btc
1530  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Android Bitcoin Wallet on: March 28, 2012, 12:03:52 AM
It's possible to get chain download speed up dramatically, fast enough that you won't really notice it in future. However more work is required.

someone's probably already thought of this and posted elsewhere, but what if you could somehow download it in reverse? start with the most recent blocks and work backwards. the further back you go, the more you can trust the recent blocks as valid.
1531  Economy / Services / Re: Who wants a 23 GH/s mining contract?! on: March 27, 2012, 11:57:18 PM
P2Pool. Wink

don't urinate where you chlorinate.

i'd buy this contract for a much bigger discount... but otherwise not worth the risk of difficulty going up, etc.
1532  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which (natural) language should I learn? on: March 27, 2012, 04:06:38 PM
one thing that hasn't been mentioned is that learning italian or spanish is almost like learning two languages in one.

out of those two i've only ever studied italian, but as a result i can understand a lot of spanish, purely because of my italian study.

Can you post another screenshot (possibly on imgur or a similar site)?

Please explain how and I will.  I lost being in touch w dos about 20 yrs ago :/

i'll try...

1. go to your facebook link, hold down Alt and hit PrtScn

2. open Paint and choose Edit > Paste

3. save as something.jpg

4. go to http://imgur.com and click on 'Computer' and then choose something.jpg

5. click 'start upload'

6. give us the resulting imgur link.
1534  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get the free money? on: March 26, 2012, 05:35:51 AM
Also, you can read bitcoin related e-mails for free bitcoins!

http://www.bitcoinbetas.com

I wouldn't consider that free. You are paying for a service.

You are free to provide this suggestion here for everyone to consider but I don't think it is worthy for inclusion in the OP.
Others are of course free to give their opinions.

What is that you pay then ? of course its free!! as in you get paid in bitcoins for reading ??

by that logic, whenever you pay for a service, the service provider is getting FREE money!
1535  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Girls of Reddit's r/GoneWild on: March 24, 2012, 03:28:11 AM
get the girl a little card with a QR code on it, and her picture.  And something where the money goes straight to her bank account.

like this

https://pimpcoin.com

Good idea. Change the name.

what's wrong with 'Chloe'?
1536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: US citizens, do you pay taxes on bitcoin exchange? on: March 24, 2012, 03:24:26 AM
Other currencies are not unrealized tax gains, those are already realized.

You should see BTC more as stocks, only taxable once sold.

as i said, governments will eventually put BTC in the list of 'currencies' if for nothing else but taxation purposes.
1537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: US citizens, do you pay taxes on bitcoin exchange? on: March 23, 2012, 09:52:47 PM
You can't tax unrealized capital gains.

if a US citizen accumulates millions of AUD, EUR, YEN, WON... is that just unrealized capital gains?

government will eventually include BTC in that list one way or the other, no matter how many try to argue that it's just a commodity, etc.
1538  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: US citizens, do you pay taxes on bitcoin exchange? on: March 23, 2012, 04:13:01 PM
actually one of the thing i'm very curious about bitcoin was tax...

How can the government force tax on bitcoins? if you dont exchange and bitcoin was being use for transaction.

As for the bitcoin exchange, how do you file tax? do you get the account history and attach that in your "other" income box?

I bet most big miners (30ghs or above) wont file tax on their bitcoin "income"

it is only income once it is us dollars. its like growing corn. farms don't pay tax on 12 tons of corn. they pay tax on the amount they sold the corn for minus costs...

doesn't work like that in australia. you're supposed to declare any income earned and pay tax on it's AUD equivalent, whether you cashed out or not.

simple steps how to get a user IP address

I mentioned this back in November.

I've proved every Atlas clone since the first this way, and that Maria and CoinExchanger are the same person.

heh because as every officer of the law knows, an IP address is only ever used by one person.

Yes well, laws of probability and supporting evidence and all that.

of course, i'd jump to the same conclusion, Matt (pun intended).
