1521  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Predict the BTC price 🚀 250 mBTC prize pool on: July 11, 2022, 10:04:59 AM
Hey guys,

How does the predicting go?
The BTC price is a little over €20K at the moment. What do you think it will be on July 28?
There were some green candles but now again they have turned red once again so the market is floating in between the same range from few days like we were facing in last month when they were flowing in $45-48k range and now it's $19k-$21k price levels.

But these prediction contest are good and fun way to have the speculation game for bitcoin and we still have more than two weeks to reach the final stage of prices for the contest but will see and thanks @Karl for bringing these up Wink
1522  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: July 11, 2022, 09:46:24 AM
I don’t think that Rollbit team will just award the winner’s without due checks, because once they scrutinise the accounts tweets then they’ll be able to check whether it’s an legit account, or an account made just for participating in the giveaway’s. @aysg76 that’s a fine strategy too because then the end result is in your hands, but for those who’re just starting out or have less funds these giveaways are a good way to engage with the casino hence Rollbit should continue them.
They don't have time to scrutinize these twitter accounts to check the bot activity and they are willing to giveaway to these random users and you would see them in most of the casinos and not too much worried about the issue and happy to focus on gameplay and enjoying there only.
1523  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Reasons why there's an Increasing Crypto Scam Rate on: July 11, 2022, 09:15:55 AM
The crypto scams have been prevailing in the market from a long time and billion dollars value have been transferred to the scammers wallets through these and you can see with the launch of new technology there is hidden bad actors that want to take advantage of people's greed and unawareness about that technology.

Like in past 2017 during ICO burst there was so many scams which continued after that time also and then DeFi scams in recent moves for example the Ronnin bridge scam worth $600 million without noticing.

See the image below to have a look at how these scams are for all these years :

If you say lack of resources to make them aware then you would find that most of these scams occur due to their greed and you need to apply common sense why would anyone be giving you free coins or double your investment with these manners and moreover there are many resources to make them aware about different ways of scamming but they didn't read them or ignore it.

For more scam information read this Chainanalyis Blog
1524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why beginners should pay attention to their privacy on: July 11, 2022, 08:51:48 AM
Different emails for different purposes. You should absolutely not be using the same email address you use for your utility bills to be signing up to bitcoin exchanges, and you should absolutely not be using either of those email addresses to register for scammy altcoin airdrops or similar. Whenever possible, use entirely disposable email addresses you can trash after they have served their single purpose. And of course, different passwords for each one.
Yes absolutely we should be using different mails for different purposes and it should not be like that you are using the same mail you have logged on your device on all places which is risk exposure.Creating new mails isn't hard so you should be having unique one's for the work you are doing and more security features enabled on the important ones.

Speaking of password then creating one yourself and then remembering it is hard for so many mails so pasword managers are good option in these case and can be utilised effectively to assist you and generating strong password.

If you are storing your coins with a third party, then you already have zero privacy there.
Sending them on exchange or trusting any third party software is already like giving them full access for your funds and control over your privacy also.

ProtonMail now offer account recovery using 12-word seed phrases. Go to Settings -> Recovery, then scroll to the bottom and hit "Generate new recovery phrase".
Was really not aware about this so thanks for letting me know about it and have found about the same that proton mails also generate random 12 words seed for recovery and we can also download recovery file but that should be stored on safe place so in case you need to change your password you will need that file to be uploaded.

That's nice feature addition to proton recovery methods but remember still you need to safely backup the recovery phrase and don't open recovery file. But you have option to increase your security with it.
1525  Other / Meta / Re: Save your nice merit records here - LAST UPDATE: 27/06/2022 on: July 10, 2022, 11:24:07 AM
I guess my last merit record before 3000.  Shocked

So another merit record for you I am seeing in this thread and now it's already ruined with additional 10 merits creating another nice numbers of 2939  Grin but not worth saving here so you are heading towards your next goal of 3000 but you know there are many in between milestones that will be good to save here like next one approaching with 2400 mark Wink
1526  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — TOP Bingo games 🔥 Win like never B4! on: July 10, 2022, 11:13:02 AM
I disagree. You can buy great laptops at cheap prices in 3rd world countries too these days. I know several people who purchased laptops with great configurations from Lenovo, Asus, Dell, HP etc under 500 bucks in such countries.

Another great option in my opinion is to purchase 2nd hand laptops from sites like OLX etc, but you need to extra careful for obvious reasons.
Yes you could get some good laptop at relatively cheap amount in third world countries also and it's no big deal. You don't need to spend too much on these gaming laptop with extra RAM and NVIDIA graphics card so you could buy good laptop under your budget.

But will suggest if you can then new laptop are best as they don't disclose full information on these OLX like platforms and many cheating are done so best buy is new one.
1527  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 10, 2022, 11:00:20 AM
Thus its still best to provide our real information. However we have to be careful and be certain that the particular site can be trusted.
You misunderstood what I was trying to say here. I clearly mentioned that it's never a good idea to submit fake documents for the reasons that you specified, but I can understand why they submit them despite all the risks involved.

Also, it's common sense to only provide your KYC to trustworthy sites like Roobet, Stake etc.
Submitting your KYC documents is really risky and I would never do that as your privacy is in your hands and I am not comfortable with it but if you are submitting for playing then go through legit manners as these casinos have strict policies to freeze your account if they found something suspicious in your documents.
1528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List of interesting Bitcoin statistics on: July 10, 2022, 10:50:41 AM
Yeah, that's true, it isn't really about correlation...  Cry

Maybe a new topic in Bitcoin Discussion could help and maybe someone has noted a few sites where correlation of Bitcoin vs. traditional markets is analyzed.
Or a quick question in WO.
It's quite likely that such a site is existing already.  Smiley
(but we don't known about it yet)  Cheesy
Yeah that would be nice addition to the list and making comparison between the traditional market and bitcoin growth for all these years like have seen some blogs regarding this correlation but not having a specific site for it and will definitely search for it.

Like this one article explains the correlation among bitcoin and traditional market and it shows bitcoin adoption is increasing as people understand it and the traditional market is seeing little downtrend in the graphs due to less return associated with them : Correlation of bitcoin and traditional market

But one such site with different ways to make comparisons based on different means would be really good option.
1529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why beginners should pay attention to their privacy on: July 10, 2022, 10:36:43 AM
Very important topic, it's quite concerning how personal data is harvested everywhere just to be sold later. Even sold to some shady scammers or criminals on the darknet. As long as it's profitable, this will be done and selling data will get more profitable in the future.

Still have doubts that it's not an issue when your data is leaked / sold to the darknet?
Ledger's hack of personal user data resulted in people getting threats to be robbed:
This issue has been prevalent over the dark web from long time and your personal information is being sold for different illegal activities and we are aware about these issues so that's why we need to remain anonymous and there are different ways in which security is compromised and this thread throws light on it.

Ledger hack is another example that like they have your personal data outsource to third party software but it's really risky as we have seen some Employee Id being compromised of Mailchip and your data is at risk. The scammers will have full access to your mails and then start the phising scam attempt with fraud emails and you will be giving them away your funds with entering your seed phrases. So there is risk in these ways also.

I really like Bitcoin's public, pseudonymous nature and the fact, that it's up to us to protect our privacy. But at the same time we should be aware that it's crucial to protect our privacy.
Like dangerous KYC. Once linking your coins to KYC data, these transactions are tied to your name. Even mixing them afterwards doesn't change that. All transactions are stored forever in the public blockchain.
Once a criminal knows about your (high) Bitcoin balance and your physical address, it can end very badly, when the data is sold to local criminals in your area.
Mostly these things occur when your are storing your coins on exchange and they ask for these KYC norms ending up your privacy and then also they will have eyes on you putting restrictions on your account to withdraw the funds.

Not just disregard, but active encouragement. In the US at least, government agencies are not allowed to enter your premises and search your belongings or your devices without a warrant, but there are absolutely no laws preventing them from buying your data from data brokers, blockchain analysis companies, or other third parties.
The NSA related movies are inspired from these things only and they want to keep track record of everyone with surveillance and you can see most of the exchange providing them these data of the users and whole work is done by them but you know the reality.Like the last news of Binance selling data to Russian agencies was in talks.

If you can, run your own email server. If you cant, use ProtonMail. Use PGP to encrypt everything.
Proton is really cool alternative but remember the password as recovering it is hard because it's not your normal email that can be reset with anyone.

1530  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 09, 2022, 12:54:21 PM
Honestly, would it worth it though? Like I could find KYC information of someone online, buy it from hackers or something and do something illegal there. Then I can use that to sign up here and give that information, which would be illegal as well. And then I could do something legal or illegal here as well and get caught, then all of the money would be stuck inside, what's the point?
What do you mean of get caught? most of casino only ask KYC for the last step of verification, so the casino will trust you with the personal information you did filled. It will be different with few casinos who ask a videos or live record about their verification, but it's just in rare case. If your name is match with the KYC you've send, I don't think you will have a trouble except the casino identified it's a fake KYC.

However fake KYC isn't only use for a services, you could make a new coin and submit someone KYC, so anyone will know the project is created by that's person, not you.
Depends on the level of KYC you are into like level 1 is very normal and this can be faked out by members but if you are playing on the casino then avoid these things and play genuinely as if caught your account could be freezed and funds will be locked so try to be original and follow the rules while gambling.
1531  Other / Meta / Re: Merits Tree 2022 - Monthly Results on: July 09, 2022, 12:43:52 PM
It would be interesting to know whether the top 20 are all merit sources and how much they each sent in total (in the current month)!
I just checked number 20 nutildah and he did roughly 300. Since I only get around 300 merit (150 sMerit) in a month, there will be no way for me to reach the top 20 anytime soon unless I can double my merit gains to 600+/month. Tongue
I think all of them are merit sources and they have spend quite a big amount of smerits over these months like you can check the stats for the previous month for their smerits and here is list for them all :

The list is rank vise :

But if you are saying about these past 9 days then i will have to look for the same but see how much they have given in the past month only and that's why they are in top merit tree list and we can never match them but you are earning quite lot of merits so you might be able to cope up with them at some point. 1532  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: July 09, 2022, 11:56:09 AM
Unfortunately, you are absolutely right. For the bounty campaigns, a lot of farms with hundreds of accounts were created on Twitter. In their spare time, they definitely take part in this type of lotteries and giveaways. The probability that a normal user will hit compared to the farm owner is probably 1% or less.
It does not change the fact that it is very nice of the Rollbit marketing team to do this type of promotional campaign.
That is basically how people react to making money possibilities online. This isn't even only in crypto, I have literally seen people with thousands of instagram accounts, farming all those "giveaways". They literally just attack those, tag themselves since they have so many accounts, and then they hope that they would actually win the reward. If they do, and if it is a legit place then there is a big chance of them getting it, then they end up selling those things.

I know people with warehouse full of stuff earned all from these giveaways. And all of that because they have thousands of accounts searching the net all around the world at all times. So, it is not just crypto or bounties.
Frankly speaking I don't care for these giveaways much and focus more on game wins or other big events that don't have these bot army and you could win something in reality and if you are lucky enough you could get some high rollers also on small wagering amounts only as small gambler wants. So you can't do anything about these twitter giveaways so it's better you try them and if lucky you could get something or forget about them.
1533  Economy / Reputation / Re: [FUN][In Merit] Post Count Down To Your Next Rank Here. on: July 09, 2022, 11:45:37 AM
There is one such thread by @Ratimov in which if you are eligible to apply or have the little amount of merits left for your next rank : [Merit] ]Help newbies and those who have a little left to the next rank

So anybody with maybe 500, 200 100 merits left for their next rank are also qualified to post a count down to their next rank.
These are big merit lags and you see merit sources could help you to reach next rank if you are having little amount of merits only but suppose if a full member is having 110 merits so he still have 140 merits left so will they be dropping out such numbers at once? The merits will be send on quality based only and sometimes the members has left few left so that can be helped by sources but not these numbers. Those who are quality posters think they are unnoticed they can post their threads here

So there should be fixed criteria for these applications as shitposters will spam this thread as soon as it's open for all with no restriction so you need to review your criteria.
1534  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A newbie with 100$ on: July 09, 2022, 11:29:29 AM
In this bear market, does 100$ on Ethereum or Bitcoin make any difference? As a newbie who have only 100$ to risk is this even enough? Can this get me anywhere?
Make your mind first that you want to invest and be sure that are you willing to loose $100 in this market? Ask yourself first these questions and then you will be ready to enter the market or stay away from it.

Okay so now if we say about your $100 investment you will get the following amount of coins with it :

0.00459BTC - $21780
0.0813 ETH  - $1228

So you might be seeing that ETH is cheap at this time and you would get more coins but then there are many things on which you should focus that gas is so much high that you would spend relatively high amount for your investment also and then bitcoin is really good return investment for newbies.

But you amount is low that you would get double returns also of $200 when the prices are doubled for both of them so generally saying that if you can try to do DCA investment with small amounts monthly that would give you good returns.
1535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin security tips for beginners on: July 08, 2022, 01:15:32 PM
  • Restrict people who can add you to groups. The less exposure to potential scam groups, the less risk you will see and click on hazardous links.
Telegram scams are the most obvious types of scams we have seen recently as you would be added to some fake groups without your wish and then they will promote some shitcoins there or send you links with lucrative offers and under greed or carelessness you click on them and rest work is done by them by taking control of your funds or you yourself deposit in their wallets.

So just have the settings that only your contacts can add your to group as by default it's set on for everyone which is risky as you are paraded by scammers in your telegram account.

Telegram>Settings>Privacy and security>Groups>My contacts

This is safety step along with 2FA with TOTP methods but also remember most of them have authenticator installed on same device and in case it's gone your security steps also fail so be sure about the same.
1536  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 08, 2022, 01:01:54 PM
That’s not the case here though, we just have a topic and that’s about it, and this is why we wouldn't be getting the same stuff, how could you get the same stuff from a topic. It’s not like "paint a fruit bowl" type of situation here, it’s like "paint something regarding fruits" for example, would everyone paint a bowl of it in that case? Maybe one or two but I doubt it would be too many.
Have never seen the identical artwork submissions in these contest and why should we worry about the same if we are not copying someone else's work? You have something in mind and that cannot be same as in other's mind and you are right these are not classes where you have same object to paint on the paper. So be original and rest you don't need to worry at all.
1537  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 07, 2022, 01:50:38 PM

Proof of service or birth certificate still cannot ensure that the person sitting behind the PC and playing gambling is an adult. For instance, if parents want they can provide all this kyc stuff and then give their children access to their screen/PC to gamble. In this case, you can still not avoid minors from playing gambling.
The only way to stop them is to force them to turn on their camera while playing, but why casinos take this hassle when parents themselves allow kids to play gambling.
Everything can be faked out if you wants to do it and bypassing these KYC norms is not much difficult but the thing is they have set a rule at their end to avoid minors falling into this gambling addiction trap but it's the guardian moral responsibility to have look on activities of their children and guide them to avoid gambling at this age instead of helping them in faking out things.

The irony is that they are always free and have made the accounts for to take part or claim these giveaways as soon as they drop from their all alt Twitter accounts and there are hundreds of them as you can see the above tweet is retweeted by 602 people and many are the one's mentioned above so your chances are less.

May I ask how much such a machine costs? It doesn't look very cheap, but I love the end result.
Was also interested in knowing the price and searched for it on their site but didn't find out the pricing manual and on other sites also they show that we need to ask for quotation after filling a form with our details

Industry Plaza e-mark machine

So it seems we have to ask for quotation or the man here can tell us the exact price for it.

This machine is really cool like the lithium ion 18V battery with capacity to mark on the metals like steel upto 62HRC and you can plug in USB cables also for file transfer and then choose the options from screen on the beast and have watched this video from SIC official YouTube channel

SIC e- mark machine This is cool and was out of our sight for so many years and thanks @TheBeardedBaby for bringing this up and would like to see more detailed review about it's usage from you once you are back.

2. Don’t save your recovery seed digitally.
You should be storing your seeds phrases offline in multiple places with extra copies but be sure they are accessible only by you.You don't need to have any SS for it on your device also and don't share it with others also.To add extra layer of security add passphrase to them but remember you also need to backup it in case you have added them with seed phrases.

But if you want to save them on metal devices to protect them from extreme conditions then you can have a look at this thread : Securing Seed phrase with washers

4. Make Use of Hardware Wallet
That's the best practice but find out the coins the wallet support in case you are looking to store some altcoins in them so to be sure beforehand. But if you are planning to have Ledger Nano Model X then don't buy it as there are many technical bugs and battery issue with it.

5. Avoid storing your BitCoin in exchanges
If you want to loose control over your funds and don't care about them at all then leave them on these CEX who will put restrictions on you for using your funds only.Enjoy giving away your coins to them.
