1521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 03, 2022, 11:31:21 AM
I think they're going to have a hard time retaining their team for several years given the amount of stars they've brought in.  The problem is that all their stars are second tier stars.  I don't think they have a shot at winning a title with that roster.  Maybe if they all get healthy next year and have career years, but how long do you honestly think someone like Kyle Lowry is going to be able to compete in the playoffs?  This is why they'll probably be a top 3 seed in the east, but I'd be surprised if they make it out of the first round.  They have too much depth and not enough MVP power.
It's Duncan Robinson, right? The weakest link with a contract so high they weren't unable to maximize his usage as a sharpshooter.
I don't understand what Coach Spo planned on their last playoff run. He benched him so long that maybe he forgot to be a shooter, but I don't disagree with his terms, it's his defense that is lacking which they needed most against the Celtics.
As title contender, I still believe they could go back there but the improvement of Herro and Robinson will be a crucial part of the next season.

Yes, I was also about to ask the question, him and Tyler Herro was Miami's perimeter shooting and during their bubble run, Duncan Robinson was one of the key players in their playoffs.

But in suddenly change this year, he was not given enough minutes to play, and so he become inconsistent. I think he can still contribute to them, but there should be some changes as coach Spo gives more time to Victor Oladipo specially in the playoffs. His he was a good defender, but nevertheless, his prime years are also gone when he had that injuries.

They need to develop Robinson's defense because he can really help with his good 3 point shooting. Miami Heat is known to be a defensive team but if they don't have a good outside shooter, their offense will also struggle as they become more predictable.
1522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing Potential projects on: August 02, 2022, 11:00:20 PM
Well, I do hope you can find new projects that carry potential as we can't deny that majority of them are worthless and even just a scam.
And you must have to consider these things upon choosing them,
 - project development
 - developers
 - trade volume

In some cases we fall into the wrong project because of huge rewards, offering high returns but we have to careful in things like this as it was mostly a scam trick.
1523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 02, 2022, 11:45:58 AM
As far as the sharing of purses is concerned, the best guess is that Crawford understands that he has no power to demand the greater cut because he ain't have the most food on the table. My opinion about this matter is that Spence is really taking his time to drag the fight more, he wanted this to happen but he thinks that it is yet not the right time.
Yes, of course, he has no power to demand a high cut or even an even cut because Spence is still a better PPV attraction than him and has more achievements in terms of the belts they are currently holding. Crawford should accept the terms of Spence as long as it's reasonable to make this fight happen.
1524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 02, 2022, 11:09:40 AM
Latest training video of Teofimo Lopez here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SBgKqED2TU

He seems to be bulking up really nicely at 140 lbs, and I reckon he can even go at high as 147 lbs or could be walking around that weight he is not fighting.

And here is Campa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqdecRus8fc

Gonna be intriguing fight, but it's hard not to root for Lopez here.

Lopez had a nice training, I think he is the quicker in this fight, and actually the bigger as well. Watching Campa train, looks like he is just an ordinary fighter if he will fight Lopez coming to the schedule of the fight. I'm rooting for Lopez as well, it's hard to bet against a hungry young fighter who wants to be champ again.
1525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 01, 2022, 10:58:53 AM
Well, it seems to me that the fight will take place anyway, maybe it's just an attempt to create an intrigue to attract audience interest, nothing more, but why is there so little hype around, maybe Showtime is not showing proper interest here.
Little hype? I don't think so, I believe the moment they will officially announce this fight, those tickets will be sold out easily. This is an anticipated fight, so I believe everyone will be eager to pay and watch this through PPV.
The fight is already close and become a done deal almost, hopefully it will take place somewhere in november. You maybe feeling a little hyped but those who were avid supporters of these two legends will definitely be running in a line just to avail the tickets once out in the market. Just wait until this news spread out and definitely, it will become one of the hot topics.
Close but no official announcement yet, I think we have to be realistic if we don't want to get disappointed. Of course, the fans will watch this fight, but at the end of the day if one of the two will not sign the contract because his demand is not meet, it will still not happen.
1526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 01, 2022, 10:17:05 AM
Basketball in the 70's and 80's was a different game then what it is today. I'm sure winning 8 championships in a row is tough no matter what era we are talking but the game has evolved so much since then it will be a hard record to match.

It is indeed. 70's,80's,90's,2000's, and 2010's are a completely different era. And yeah basketball since has evolved.
I also have to agree that winning a championship then and now where never too easy.
I have never witnessed the 80's era, but I did have a glimpsed of the 90's and I can say this is the era where athletic players inspired by Jordan has began and Kobe was his product. While the late 2000's was where bigger, faster, and strong players where developed the likes of LeBron build. While the late 2010's was changed by Steph Curry's spectacular 3s.

90's basketball is very physical, now it has evolved because a team who have great 3-point shooters will likely win the championship. Look at Stephen Curry, if he is not good at 3-point shooting, he will not become a great player, and also now, big men are already shooting 3's, we have good 3-point shooters like Jokic which is a good example.
1527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is not an inflation hedge in first place on: July 29, 2022, 12:10:41 PM
People have different opinions about Bitcoin like manipulated market, scam, Ponzi scheme, a sort of investment, and currency. And having to listen to people talking about Bitcoin, the more it gains interest and curiosity in the community making them as well to try. Now, it was to realize that some people are talking right while the majority had misconceptions, and misunderstandings about its behavior.

Apparently, it was the choice of the people to invest in Bitcoin, and not the thing to blame when there is a decrease in the potential value of fiat money, IMO.
1528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New scenario for cryptocurrencies next semester on: July 29, 2022, 11:25:27 AM
What is your current view on IEO investments for the next quarter? the points you take into consideration when investing in this type of release? What are its perks and benefits?
I'd never thought it still exist after a major decrease in its number and the massive growth of metaverses and NFTs. Haven't died yet?
Well, anyways- I don't think it remains valuable this time, or do people have the trust to invest in them after having so many scam issues in the past?

next semester? Next quarter? All I gonna say is that only a few investors will take a look at them while the majority just ignore them.
1529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ADA to be next MATIC on: July 28, 2022, 02:45:13 PM
ADA is a good coin on my eyes and i believe this coin can do something better in the future like Matic. ADA project team is supper active and professional. So it is natural that they have the potential to do good things in the future. I am holding a big amount of ADA from 8 months. and my target i will hold it next 2 years
Well, just to hope something good happens in the future and might ADA or both of them will keep on the momentum they have this time and even better. I'd just somehow think that ADA will have to show that it deserves to be trusted and remains its potential despite the bear situation we have.

Ada is one of the top 20 coins in the market, Holding is worthy for this project and I see a profit end than losses.
1530  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for newbie to long-term investing on: July 28, 2022, 02:04:20 PM
...

EDIT

I would like to thank everyone for their helpful advise so far, I will definitely take each point made into serious consideration. Also from the points made, it lets me now that my mindset is where it should be.

Right know I'm heavily focused on accumulating as much Eth as I can. I'm almost at the goal I've set for myself in terms of how much I'd like to have before investing in another coin, since I've started investing again a short while ago. Next up I'd like to stack some ADA and BTC of course. But I can't help but wonder is accumulating ETH and ADA the right move right now? Or should I be more invested in BTC in terms of potential long-term returns?
I was glad to hear from you OP appreciates the help and advice from other forum members. At least, you find it important, and following those things makes you feel comfortable with your investment and guided in the right direction. It was indeed to have a positive mindset and market adoption there is nothing we can do but take risks and understand the situation. If you are able to do this, no doubt that you can achieve your goal.
1531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 28, 2022, 12:33:06 PM
~snip~

But for me, since they are currently the no. 1 and 2 at the Welterweight division right now, I'm expecting that they won't just play defense all throughout and care for the points per round. I want to see them challenging each other in close combat while saying "I'm the strongest!".

If I were Spence or Crawford I would be more cautious and tighten up my defensive stance knowing that I am fighting an elite fighter that would send me to sleep anytime he caught me off guard.
I am also one of the many people who's looking forward for this match as an all out war. A toe to toe fight between these two would be epic. However, just like I said, both of them might be cautious as they knew what each of them are capable of.

For sure they will be very careful as they know their skills and their power. However, since Crawford is more defensive than Spence, I think he would win this fight and will avoid getting hit by the heavy shots of Spence. This fight is very unpredictable, no sure winner here for sure but everyone has their own prediction.  Smiley
1532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 28, 2022, 12:00:19 PM
The Golden State Warriors have shown some interest in picking up Carmelo Anthony for next season. I’m not sure how well he would fit in, but I’m sure he could do some damage off the bench. I’m thinking it would probably be his last chance to win a championship, so it wouldn’t be a bad option for him. I’d wait to see if Kyrie gets traded to the Lakers and see if I could run that back before anything else though.
Not really bad if the GSW will pick him. Last season IIRC it was him that has been taken almost at the last minute since no team would like to have him but good thing he's saved. I guess I like him to be there because of the thought that he's gonna take the ring with him before his retirement.
Maybe all of us would agree with that matter and the rest, arguable about the whatnots of him being in the dub nation.

Carmelo is not as demanding as he was before, he already play the rule that is given to him and I'm pretty sure the Warriors will be able to utilize him because he is a superstar that ha past his prime and not only that, it will also give Melo an advantage because he might won his first championship with the Warriors.
1533  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid loan apps, a word of advice. on: July 27, 2022, 10:53:29 PM
Over the week, a friend and I had a conversation about loans and loan apps and she shared a bitter experience of how she was unable to write a very important exam because the money meant for payment of fees to qualify for that exam was deducted by a certain loan app that she collected money from a while ago.  Who will you really blame? My friend for not paying up as at when due or the loan app for not notifying her before the deduction.
In all, I advice that we should try to avoid any business with loan apps as they seem to be very numerous these days and are easily accessible. Most importantly, You should know that you are at the danger of developing a habit of borrowing from them if you patronise loan apps even for the smallest amount.
I did not patronize loans because i know that the company that give you a loan is a business and if we are going to have that loan they will earn from the interest and  in it is very easy to understand that we the loaners make them very rich and make our self very poor, i will only get a loan in case of emergency and no other option or choices than getting that loan.
Let's say that they were getting rich because of us loaners but we think also that somehow they save us in times of financial difficulties. Of course, this is business, and it designs to make a profit. So, it doesn't matter how much they get from us loaners as long as it helps us, in fact, they are also risking their money to do this. as in some cases, some people don't repay their loan which is also a big loss for them.
1534  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Ever Reach $100k? on: July 27, 2022, 02:32:33 PM
Do you think that BTC will ever rise to and above 100k in the near future? Wil it be before or after the next Bitcoin halving or this price would never come?
I do believe Bitcoin will reach $100k in the future but we cant predict accurately when it will happen. After halving might be the time to have another ATH, because in the history the bullish season often happening after the halving. Thus if you think the price can go higher in the future then keep holding your Bitcoin and be patient. Because investors who can bear waiting for long can be a huge gainer if Bullrun takes place again.
Yes, we just wait for the next halving as this was a huge impact in the market but for now, this is eventually just too high.
Well, for me, I don't even think about reaching that high as $100k is too much for Bitcoin. I'd rather favor seeing it at $60k when Bullrun comes which is affordable to small investors and for beginners so they are not afraid to try rather than falling into altcoins because they are cheap compared to Bitcoin.
1535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 27, 2022, 11:44:39 AM
If that's the case then KD will remain to play with Kyrie and they just need to fix their play to make it different from the last season where they really struggle to synchronize and have some chemistry issues with the new traded players.

Honestly, I don't expect the Nets can do something impressive next season, even if Irving and Durant will stay on the team. The problem is that Durant might not perform as well, and he might also have some issues with his teammates after all since he has expressed his desire to leave the team. At the same time, Irving seems to be unpredictable. I mean, if there's another pandemic and mandatory vaccinations, Irving will probably miss part of the season because of his beliefs again.

That will hurt the Nets fans and they will hate Durant. As an NBA player, he is paid and he has to perform, otherwise the team could penalize him or will be force not to pay him if he will deliberately perform lower than his capacity just to send a message to the team that he should be traded.
1536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 27, 2022, 11:23:51 AM
I'm actually still quite doubtful for a boxer who is 40 years old fighting but for GGG this might be one or the exception because indeed as you said he still has a good chin and body resistance in the ring and his brutal fight last April clearly proves that his age is not enough. limit the power of the blow.
This fight is a condition of prestige so I don't think it will be easy to make a decision by favoring one side just because of their age.

It seems like a close match for me considering where they came from their last fight and it's just some kind of common sense where you think they have the same gauge of stats since Canelo also came from a loss so his confidence to win might be questionable when he will face GGG which hasn't been lost since he loses to Canelo in their last fight. Now that they are finally given a chance to prove to the world who is stronger and better, we will gonna see a better version by both of these incredible boxers than in their last fight.
I hope this time one of them falls and maybe for greater hope I expect the same GGG performance as the previous fight.
When it comes to fighting it's clear there's going to be some tough competition there regardless of how Canelo evades a few times I'm actually quite optimistic about GGG.
When talking about their previous match even then there was some controversy going on there.

He needs to step up and be more aggressive as he has not won a fight in their previous two fight against each other. In the last fight of GGG, his opponent is not a popular boxer or let's say as good as Canelo, so this time it should be a different approach, an approach that will give him a win.
1537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will Never Fall Again on: July 26, 2022, 01:20:03 PM

Yes. Misinformation and disinformation in the crypto ecosystem is like cancer. There a lot of fake gurus who try to sell crypto masterclass to gullible individuals. These gurus are only after enriching themselves and end up selling some sort of crypto-plan(Premium, Gold and Silver Plans) in their classes. They take advantage of the worsening economic crisis to dupe these poor fellows.
That is why we don't just listen to them but also make our own market research and discovery in order to know if these gurus are telling the truth or just spreading wrong information to the public. We can't deny the fact that they are somehow milking innocent people by thinking and believing what they say it true and even following what they say. A thing like this is similar to business and these gurus tried to manipulate innocent people and take their money.
1538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice from a stranger on: July 26, 2022, 12:36:59 PM
Is it true that new altcoins are the best to invest in right now? Someone said you can easily make better profits from new projects than investing in old altcoins that have already x their values already, what do you think? Good or bad idea.
During this market conditions, whatever you invest in and the project survive, will make you profit. The new altcoins have high X potential, true, but the tricky part is to evaluate which project has potential, survivability and can bring some kind of innovation or improvements to the blockchain.
And that you need thorough research. Though listening to some advice is not wrong as indeed right, however, we don't just trust them too fast. Investing in new projects is really risky and has higher chances of losses rather than making a profit.
Not that I say it was a wrong idea nor it was good, but it was also important we know more about the project we would like to invest especially when it wasn't proven yet like Bitcoin and ETH.
1539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 26, 2022, 11:22:55 AM
I did try to look for Campa's highlights, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYpUKfIY0hA

Could be a good match as both is brawler, however, this is the fight that Lopez excel, maybe except for the Kambosos fight as obviously, he already lost this one. So if they brawl in this fight, I think Lopez will still come up and maybe score a big KO win. Just a couple of weeks from know and we will see how Lopez is, if he adjusted to this division and didn't lose any of his power going up in weight.
I'm still not sold though on Campa and I think he was chosen for reasons, as it will highlight again Lopez style and power as both will slug it out and in the end, the power of Lopez might knock out Campa in the end.

As for the bets, yes, obviously Campa is the underdog and it's good to bet on him. However, still, smart money will go on Lopez, might just be looking for other betting listings from our favorite crypto sports bookies.

How would the smart money will go for Lopez when the odds are very low, no one would bet on him to win by winning 5% of his bet only. I think they will choose other lines like Lopez winning by KO but guessing what round or round range, that's very common now in most boxing events.
1540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 26, 2022, 10:55:22 AM
Of course, for now Tatum is untouchable, and we can see that Boston want's him to be the franchise player. And then know that even if they were able to acquire Durant, for sure he will not stay that long for them, maybe max is 3 years.

The leverage though might be too much for Boston, Brown and Smart and then multiple picks. So I don't see the Boston Celtics to just let go of their two stars with future picks. But good move on the part of the Nets, and see if Celtics are willing to strike that deal.

If Boston will take that deal, it's a best trade for the Nets. Smart and Brown are both promising stars that have good futures from the league,

letting Durant go for these two and with the two future picks would really favor them. Not sure how Boston will take this one and if they

are really interested and make it happen. Another question is on how KD and JT will jive and blend their games. Oh well, that's how the league

works now, trades and switch teams is a business not a career concern now.. Wink

Yeah it is really just is how the league is right now. KD and the rest of the Celtics who would remain would find a way to gel / play together. That would definitely be giving up a lot for the Celtics, but if I were them I’d to close to whatever it took to get Durant as he brings you that much closer to a potential championship.

Brown and Smart are just ordinary players unlike Durant who is proven to be a superstar, he has won multiple finals MVP and has won a champion, I guess that would make the Celtics stronger if they will succeed in getting Durant. Who knows, they might win a championship next season.
