1541  Economy / Economics / Re: 85% of AI start-ups will fail within 3 years. on: June 20, 2023, 07:54:29 PM
This is an opinion piece. 85% of AI start-ups will fail within 3 years. Link to article. That's what they have said. But what do we think. We use the internet everyday and may even be using one or two AI tools to help us become organized, productive and efficient. Hundreds of AI start-ups are spring up everywhere everyday - while some are jumping in without due diligence some, some are doing it for the money while some others what to make an impact. The AI startups boom is compared to the dot-com bubble where a lot of them failed. Some AI start-ups are: Open AI, Frame AI, Jasper, Drafter AI, Smartly.ai.
What do you think, are we experiencing an AI startup boom like the dot-com bubble? And do you think that 85% of them will fail within 3 years?
85% seems like a made up number but even so, i think that the number should be higher. Crunchbase lists 9,587 AI startups and with 85% dying there should be 1438 left in 3 years. IMHO there will come even more and number will be way less than that. Most of them run out of money in 3 years as they are basically money grabs. Reason is obvious, people love to fund trendy stuff because they think it might get adopted by apple etc...

Even though that would be only crappy "AI" app making your voice sound like a toddler, people see it somehow on par with chatgpt 4.
1542  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: CZ called Binance Nigeria scam entity on: June 20, 2023, 07:39:14 PM
To understand it better, read the content on this link: https://www.mariblock.com/nigeria-sec-warns-against-binance/

“The company [Binance Nigeria Limited] is not affiliated to Binance. It was only registered for arbitrage reasons when we thought Binance might want to set up operations in Nigeria. But that did not happen, and as you can see, it [Binance Nigeria Limited] is inactive.”
Thanks, there seemed to be some confusion, like Like dailypost and many others saying Binance is now illegal and sued by nigerian SEC. BNB might have been slightly affected by the fud but nothing noticeable as everything is so volatile anyway.

But it couldn't be that big of an operation, could it? How long did the scam run and how much they scammed?
I can't even find any trace of the binance nigeria ltd site, existing ever by google. Usually even if the site was a scam there still will be other sites linking to it and influencers talking about it.
All i find is dozens of articles quoting CZ saying it was a scam operation.
1543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for the Next Great 1000x on: June 19, 2023, 09:33:42 PM
Memes coins are too random to choose the right one but there is some interessting picks in this thread thanks

My personnal choice for a lowcap gem is sclp because :
-cut-
- biometric bridge coming
-cut-
Don't' know what biometric bridge is, so if you want to shill it, don't assume people do get everything. It sounds like fingerprint or eye scan instead of private key, and frankly i don't see that revolutional. Just google auth app works better.

But scip was on my radar as a newcomer from end of 2022 and i even had some of it in my wallet. Selling it almost immediately when it started dumping was one of the best panic dumps i have made as it has just kept on dropping. It's near ATL again and while it's cheap, it isn't worth my risk until it's way below $1M marketcap. But good luck with your investment.
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: June 19, 2023, 09:10:34 PM
     -   It's been a long time since I bet on the lottery. And that was the first time I bet on the lottery and I chose 6 digits and the next day when I checked the newspaper to see what number came out, out of the six I chose, I won five, of course I was very happy.

I took my winnings at an outlet here, I thought I was a lucky person so I bet again because I thought I might get the jackpot, but I was disappointed. after events like that it was no longer followed.
That's weirdly my experience as a kid as well. With my first lottery i chose numbers for one game in my dad's lottery. My row won a lot, i recall my dad shouting from joy, but he never told me how much my row won. After that my dad made me fill one row for every lottery but i never won again.

I was so young that i didn't have any bank account or anything. My dad kept the money and gave the biggest bag of candy i ever saw to me. But i was quite annoyed as i didn't know how much he won and never saw a penny unless you count that bag of candy Smiley. Sadly he was living a luxurious lifestyle and spend it all before i even had grown up.¨
1545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: June 19, 2023, 08:58:13 PM
This actually happens if there is a similar thread I'll lock this thread.

My friend invited me for a round of drinks just last night to confess something, and that is his wife threatened to leave their house and file for legal separation because the wife just discovered that he's spending a lot of time gambling, she thought that he's just playing games but she discovered his logged because the idiot has his password in the browser, so the wife check his withdrawal and voila his losing a lot of money and she also discovered that he won big money in the past but didn't tell her.

I guess that blew her patience for not telling his winning, so he threaten that he should stop gambling or they part ways, my friend choose his wife so he cannot play until he can convince his wife and promise her to tell her if he won big. Cheesy

How about you have you been threatened by your wife, your girlfriend, or your parents, if so tell us your story.
Is that really threatening? Sounds more like an ultimatum, and she is allowed to do that. I know people that wouldn't watch that kind of behavior at all so divorcing is totally understandable.

I don't know about their monetary arrangement but usually if couple is married, there are joint bank accounts and mutual budget. Any bigger spendings will be planned together as you are living with the same.

Gambling away your family's money is totally unacceptable. I would leave just if i was blatantly lied to. Not to mention gambling away our shared budget.
1546  Economy / Speculation / Re: The low support level may still be tested during 2023. on: June 19, 2023, 08:47:03 PM
Well, I guess its been how many weeks now since the SEC sued Coinbase and Binance now and it looks like bitcoin price did not react that much threatening to touch the $20k level. Though it attempts to go below $25k after the SEC wants to freeze binance assets but immediately got back up when the judge decides to just let binance do their business as is while the investigations are on going. So, I don't think bitcoin may have fall at that level as the market sentiments are kind of positive right now. People seems buying the dip and trying to accumulate as prep for the upcoming bullrun that the halving may cause next year.
Suing someone isn't really that damaging. SEC charged Ripple 2 years ago and we are still watching that to unravel.

What happened is that SEC decided that many altcoins were securities, and now they are suing exchanges for allowing buying and selling of securities all along.
Keeping in mind that those weren't securities just while ago.

So now CEXes are unregistered security exchanges. Bittrex just gave up. There are many things that are weird in this but funniest thing is that either side could wint this. We are in uncharted waters and crypto is stlll relatively new. Regulations can still change a lot, even during the court fight. One thing i am certain is that this will get way more complex then it already is.
1547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 19, 2023, 08:22:54 PM
You are quoting a research i didn't find by google, nor your link was pointing into any actual academic research.
I tried to search Psychology today but their search isn't that great either. So it's really hard to review any research without reading the actual research, or even an article about it.

And using google translate when you want accurate grammar make the page a very vague source.
1548  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: June 19, 2023, 07:58:10 PM
LOL last week I won again giveaway this is my 2nd luck I mean I won 2 times a month  Cheesy even though we have 3580 participants and 18 winners
Don't think that I am an exclusive user, I am just a normal user who might be lucky. Make sure you participate at stakecommunity.com every Saturday
There's nothing you need to do except post your username no one knows when your lucky day  Wink

Huh? Gongratz and thanks for the tip, i didn't have any idea about any giveaways.
I thought i made an account there already but can't find anything from my laptop, hopefully double accounts aren't prohibited in there as i kinda want to make a account that's most likely my only account. But i would feel weird to hang in there just to participate in giveaways so i will look around and see if i can participate talking in there first.
1549  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: June 18, 2023, 06:03:31 PM
I completely agree with you. It is certain that there are jobs that will be replaced by AI. It will all depends on the people or company who will be using it on how they will utilize our current technology. For now as we are growing in a world that is currently developing AI, there are jobs that are borned but is very limited, we can see jobs in like analyzing if it is a job that AI did based on output and prompt engineers who masters at giving prompts or teaching AI. Casinos should be ready when AI as it's full blown, I'm certain that it will be used against them.
But HOW ai would be used against the casinos? Beating the house would mean it would beat the mathematics behind house edge itself. The edge is designed to make money,
Slots should be obvious that you can't "win" them by counting. And even with backjack, from what i know there are already systems in place to prevent cad counting teams.

If you are talking about sports betting, if majority of people started winning via bots, soon they wouldn't be even worth the risk to play as winnings would be so low.
If you are talking about the poker games, players would be scamming each other, not the house.
1550  Economy / Services / Re: I'll pay to find a specif person on instagram on: June 18, 2023, 05:35:03 PM
Can someone find me a specific person(on insta) knowing only the name, birth date, the region where she lives and having some photo?
Wait what? Its not thief lol u moron, i just lost contact with my friend and i want to find her
Is she would be your friend you wouldn't need a paid investigation to find her freaking instagram.

People who are helping OP for money, understand that you are most likely helping a stalker trying to locate a prey from pic backgrounds, probably a stalker with restraining order.

There's most likely not one decent private detective that would take OP's money. That's why op is trying to pay as a pseudonym.
1551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you invest in a project that might take years to outshine the market?? on: June 18, 2023, 05:27:28 PM
I agree with you. Many people are too impatient and expect quick returns from their investments. They don’t realize that building a successful project takes time and effort. They should have a long-term vision and support the project they believe in.
You can't really judge people on thinking that. The whole crypto rich myth as build on getting rich over night because some people have done it. EVERYONE i know has came into crypto other than devs has become in because they wanted to get rich.

I see those people in low- and microcaps, but they are a minority or they are not as loud as sensible hodlers. Somehow every new lowcap token out there thinks it's reasonable to have over $100M marketcap. And if they are going past that, they will start to talk about being next shiba, or eth killer.
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC lawsuit caused massive market crash on: June 18, 2023, 05:09:34 PM
t's understandable to feel concerned about the current market situation and the impact of the SEC lawsuit on Binance and BNB. The sharp decline in BNB's price and the labeling of multiple altcoins as securities indeed raises uncertainty. The future of BNB and the broader crypto market depends on the outcome of the lawsuit and potential settlements.

While it's challenging to predict the exact course of events, it's important to remember that the crypto industry has faced regulatory challenges before and has shown resilience. Governments are working to establish regulations in this evolving space, but it's not necessarily a sign of winning or losing a "war" against cryptocurrencies.

As an investor, it's advisable to closely follow the developments, exercise caution, and make informed decisions based on thorough research. The crypto market is known for its volatility, and it's crucial to be prepared for various scenarios while keeping emotions in check.

I am not sure what kind of regulatory challenges are you referring to in the past? I haven't seen this level of conflict before if we are not talking about regions where it's legal to use cryptos

Mostly whole cryptocurrecy scene have just complied with regulators. We haven't "won" any cases against regulators, just accepted the facts and complied.

Marketing ICOs/sales are more closely regulated as people now know that you can end up going to jail over them. Taxation regulations are updated to handle cryptos. CEXes, casinos and eveyone dealing with money are complying with aml regulations that many crypto users seem to see as invasive.

To comply with regulators on this issue and future legistlations that are going to happen will be more challenging than anything i've seen before. This doesn't mean we won't find a common ground because most likely we will, but it will look different then we are used to.
1553  Economy / Gambling / Re: NFTonSPIN.com - Leading Crypto Casino With Get Full Refund If Not Satisfied on: June 18, 2023, 04:45:57 PM
tbh, i decided to write in here after 4 days of waiting thinking that they might process it due to community pressure in here, and actually they processed it in 1 hour after writing in here and writing them through email, i m not sure, it would be processed if i didnt do something like this and if amount was higher, but in the end they paid it.

But imo i wouldnt deposit any real money coz, like many others said, offers are way too good to be true, and still site seems very amateurish (layout, games etc)

But again like i said, they PAID it...
Oh wow so they really paid someone. Let's wait someone brave enough to try this casino and if the offers they advertised is really true. For me, I won't take the risk because I don't really play on new casinos. Hopefully this casino holds their words until they revised their advertisement about the refund. I know that the refund promotion is just to attract customer to try the casino but yeah it's a new way to make gamblers try a casino that's why gamblers are still skeptical about it. Maybe someday this kind of advertisement will become a norm.
They might have paid the bonuses but has anyone tried their "refund" policy? Or is that really more like promotion campaign then a policy?

I would like to see a report from someone with an account with actual credibility in bitcointalk. As you have just buy member accounts to say what you want. At the moment i need every penny i got and i am certain if i tested it, there would be some hoops i wasn't prepared for, like bet size limits etc, and either it would take a month to get my money back or i would end up messing their rules to be eligible because they were too vague
1554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avalanche is NOT listed as a security (SEC) on: June 18, 2023, 04:21:41 PM
-cut-
It is huge bullish news for Ethereum and Avalanche.  Smiley
I never saw enough advantage in Avalanche over Ethereum that it would make sense to build a whole new network for it. That just divides the whole crypto community more and makes me think devs just wanted money. What avalanche tries to build could have done on top of eth. Not evertthing needs a new blockchain.

And it isn't security yet. Sec hasn't stated it's not a security. It just wasn't listed, yet.
1555  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: June 18, 2023, 03:33:58 PM
I have been loyal with holding to 10 marketcap coins but right now seems not good tactic,

It's hardly ever a good tactic. Altcoin pump is usually delayed compared to Bitcoin and alts are the first to drop. They also tend to tank harder than BTC + the composition of the top 10 keeps changing over time, so if you want to stick to this tactic, you'd have to rebalance periodically, which also generates costs/losses.
Meanwhile, despite all the bearish news, Bitcoin's dominance has risen to over 48%. I remember some experts saying around a year ago that BTC will unlikely cross 40% and that it'll be losing dominance over time.
People can't really predict the world events and that was based on the past like every prediction. When fundamentals on some high cap alts are as bad as now, it's natural that people will focus on coins without a company or funding behind them. I recon that people will soon start to trust alts again as nothing new happens for a while. These court cases will take so much time that be might be over next bull cycle before there's any kind of result available. Which side will end up winning this is anyone's guess.

As investors we have to divide money into many types of investment types, like we know that bitcoin is already very expensive compared to others, so a good opportunity is to buy altcoins, the opportunity for altcoins to rise is 10x greater than bitcoin because most altcoins are cheap, and of course it's a good idea if we hold the top 10 rankings because it's safer.
"10x"? That number is not based on anything. It's true that lower caps have more room to grow, but that only applies if they have any future to begin with. And no one knows if they do.

Depends, i remember when eth was high on the marketcap, people thought it was too high to move as much as lower caps. Turned out that there was so much room to grow and ETH ended up being the most profitable altcoin, even when it started from top. Top was relative to todays marketcap, but we don't know what the cap for highest marketcap will be.
1556  Economy / Economics / Re: How much longer until paper money is no longer in circulation? on: June 18, 2023, 02:26:08 PM
Indeed, we will still be safer using paper money, and I don't want it to be completely phased out and replaced by CBDCs. But the government doesn't want that because they know that CBDC will give them better control over us, so I think CBDC is inevitable, and we won't be able to stop it. But that's not going to happen anytime soon, at least not in our generation, because our current world is still full of people who don't have access to smartphones or the internet, so it's tough for comprehensive CBDC implementation.
I understand your scepticism, but i don't think that problem will be in adoption but in the fact that there's no suitable ZK tech for it yet that governments would allow in larger scale. We are in the testing phase of few alpha versions that are most likely not going to take off as any of current platforms isn't really regulatory compliant or safe enough.

And while there technically still are people that 2023 Internet user statistics ] don't have an access to internet, [/url]there are people who don't have an access to banking or money either. But in civilized countries those numbers of internet users are way up, And that number is slowly increasing as the meaning and demand for physcal cash is decreasing. And this tech will start from first world contries, that's for sure.
1557  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can One's Religion Compel A Compulsive Gambler To Quit Gambling on: June 17, 2023, 08:51:03 AM
Anyone will gamble secretly and secretly, they don't even want family members, relatives, or even fellow believers to know about the gambling activities that are being carried out.
This is a natural thing considering that there are also many gamblers who really want to be anonymous in gambling.
Apart from the religious prohibition, gambling is also badly viewed in social life.

In the neighborhood where I live, anyone who gambles is branded as a bad person and is not respected at all. Cheesy
Spot on. Shame doesn't need religion to fuel it but it helps. I think it's frowned upon no matter where you live, especially if you are doing it a lot. Which is weird. In finland it means you are contributing to lots of charities as well when you gamble. So it should be viewed as a public service to put your money in.

I guess people see the generic gambler as irresponsible, even if they don't know anything about their lives. And i am guessing there's a bit of jealousity when gamblers win and because gamblers dare to live more on the edge, while non-gamblers deny that from themselves. So they are easy bunch to hate or pity. I still see haters as a minority as most people know you can gamble while not being an addict or irresponsible.
1558  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: June 17, 2023, 08:40:34 AM
@Fivestar4everMVP @Jody.Drummer Actually "KYC" on Stake are mandatory for new-user. Old-user account still can play without being verified, but for new user who are register under this rules needed to be KYC first before they can play.

So, old-user still can play without KYC until Stake ask us to verified our account. If I was not wrong, about these KYC stuff on Stake maybe someone have more information but as far I know only new user.
I am only speculating here, but i am guessing that mandatory kyc will eventually apply to everyone, in every casino dealing with stablecoins or fiat money that is.

As this seems like a temporary solution to eventually fill regulatory demands.

Because when you think about it, asking kyc for just for newcomers doesn't really make sense unless it's a step by step system. As confirming IDs and scaling the process for applying to everyone instantly would require insane amount of work and it would take time while customers would need to wait in line for approval. Step by step system seems to make most sense to me.

That's how i am reasoning it anyway and i am not against kycs. I see them as necessary evil, however i wish someone would make a ZK based identification system to prevent id thefts via hacks.
1559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any airdrop hunters here need some leads on: June 16, 2023, 11:00:38 PM
After years of disappointment in airdrops of tokens that end up not being traded anywhere like Ethplode and Stabila, I missed on the Arbitrum airdrop, now I am looking for potential real good airdrops. It doesn't have to be in the thousands, a few real dollars are fine for the effort.
I hear zkSync and Venom can be big, I tried SUI but was unlucky to be late and they didn't really giveaway to that many people.
Please let's help each other with real good advice.
Maybe focus on hunting new cutting edge new tech in crypto and if you are lucky they will reward the active users with their token. That's how every successful airdrops have worked. If they announce airdrop before airdrop, it will get botted out and you most likely won't get anything worth money. In fact you most likely end up spending more then airdrop just by using the product in every way you can think of.

That tactic, of actually caring about the project and getting rewarded for it has given me a lots of money via airdrops.
1560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Blur token unlock on: June 16, 2023, 10:54:04 PM
As it may seems negative for this unlock I think a dump at this level is just mind-blowing, the price of it was already at the lowest and selling it might not be a good idea. I think the timing of the unlock is good but we never know the market and the people who might receive this unlocks maybe a lot of them need hard cash and they want to sell which is pretty normal but my guts tells me that it's absurd selling it this low.
Why is it absurd that people sell with any price they get for free at the bear market. Everyone knows it can drop a lot from here, so why not sell and get something.

Remember IMX and GODS airdrop? I sold gods in $5 which was near all time low at the time. So was it low and absurd to sell too or was it having a perspective on over priced valuation? As now GODS is $0.12
IMX i sold little under $5 which seemed like a bad price at the time. I just saw it over priced, and now it's $0.62.

It's not always about having some pocket money. People have made a lot of money selling BLUR and it's still quite high in the marketcap considering that it doesn't have an interesting or attractive useful use case that i can see.
