I have invested to some casinos bankroll, to get profits when casinos made profit when that option was still a quite common thing. Does that count? My experience on that wasn't as exciting as i would thought. Then again i invested peanuts and would have needed to keep my money more then my lifetime to make any money. For someone who was looking at the highly volatile tradomg charts making impressive moves, looking at my bankroll was like looking at a snail moving. Sometimes it took a hit and went back sometimes it slowly moved up, but in such a slow pace that anyone would get bored. I am guessing it would be different with a high volume casino with a billion dollars invested. But then again, i might do something else with that money. In some cases they already do. Like in Finland, income of government monopoly casinos are directed all kinds charity programs or in other way important programs.
So i guess it depends on where you live, as i am aware that we are not exception. But from what i've gathered, these things usually start from political pressure and legistlations. Like the self-exclusion option that's mandatory in all casinos.
I saw someone saying here that casinos benefit from gambling addictions so they don't want to sponsor those sites. I don't see it that way.
Casinos benefit from steady income. Addiction can ruin lifes and budgets to the point, that at some point those people won't be giving any income.
In fact they could have an opposite effect as they act as a warning and could turn and speak against gambling.
I don't have any data about this but my gut feeling is that majority of gamblers aren't addicts, that can't control their urges. Majority of them have steady income, which is the reason they can provide steady income. Versus someone who has ruined his finances and life because of addiction. Those people aren't helping casinos, so i don't think casinos want people to get severely addicted.
Some level of addiction however is needed in capitalistic society. Everyone wants customers to come back.

Whenever I am low on cash on the casino I play which includes a sport book I like to copy other people bets,usually parlays with odds over 1000 and I think to myself who cares if I play for example 50 bets copying other people with 200 IDR as my base bet,if any of these guys hits it big I will do to.Notice that I put 1000 as a minimum here but the reality is that I have been copying bets with over 700.000 as odds,I damn love these huge multipliers yet no one has got such one in sport betting. Bookmakers really think Barbie will be nominated for the ceremony as a contestant for the best picture of the year? I think it was a genius move from Mattel to let them openly critizise the Barbie brand in the movie. It had fresh takes and frankly it surprised me positively. I would like to hear her / his arguments on why first. But i don't think i would end up marrying in that kind of relationship in the first place. But let's assume i did. I would probably want to talk about it, as everything (or most cases in relationship) are a discussion, as there are 2 of you or more if not in monogamy. In every partnership it's important to listen to everyone involved. One member of family can't just set up rules without discussing it with others. There will be compromises and emphatic listening of others. You can't change what your partner likes or dislikes. It isn't wise to try to control hobbies and friends either. So throwing ultimatums about gambling of all things should be explained and justified in reasonable way. At least to me. Just someone getting discomfort of me playing 5 bucks per week (if we could afford it) for example wouldn't be something i would accept as a reason. People sometimes can feel uncomfortable because someone's actions, but it doesn't always mean they should try to change others behavior. Sometimes we need to accept each others weird hobbies we don't understand, or we don't like. If it doesn't directly affect on my daily routines, but i would feel discomfort, i would see that as a my problem. Not my partner's problem. |

We all are anticipating the drop of the shuffle token airdrop because I want to be among the early adopters of this project. It appears that only my Solana wallet qualifies, despite my extensive activity across various EVM-compatible platforms. Most likely none of the dApps I've engaged with are using Pyth as Chainlink is the preferred choice usually. Still better than nothing. If $PYTH can get the same FDV as $LINK, we could potentially see $1 per $PYTH token. That's the optimistic scenario. Realistically though, I would estimate the price to settle in the range of $0.1 to $0.5.  I had to double check your math as i i haven't seem link for ages and didn't realize that link was as high as that in the marketcap. But your estimation checks out. I am not sure on what rate the supply is growing on this one, but if the airdrop is 900m tokens, and the marketcap is counted from circulating supply, then you only need $900m marketcap for this to have $1 per token. That would put Pyth on 52th place in the coinmarketcap. And from what i've read about this, it could easily happen. Naturally i am rooting for fraction of it as i wasn't eligible for the airdrop and i want to buy. I missed out because this was the first time i even heard about Pyth. There has been too many of them to keep track of, but i am interested now. But still i am not going to pay overvalued prices. |

I disagree. If someone is facing a lifetime in prison, all types of other options on how to reduce sentence will certainly be more attractive than the option facing him.

I seriously doubt there's going to be any sort of deal at this point. What more he could even give them that he already did? What whistle there is left to blow? There already was 15 days of testimonies and pretty much everything has been revealed. Only after that jurors found him guilty on seven counts of fraud and conspiracy, so now he is facing up to 110 years. He most likely won't get full sentence but enough to sit rest of his years in jail. SBF was a main character behind this and he is taking most ofl the blame on this. US Attorney Damian Williams lauded the jury’s verdict, saying the government has “no patience” for fraud and corruption.
“These players like Sam Bankman-Fried might be new, but this kind of fraud, this kind of corruption, is as old as time,” he said. This pretty much summarizes the attitude against SBF and he won't be walking. |

Not sure. But RWAs supposed to be a thing at last bullrun already. Suitable tech for it just doesn't really exist so that blockchain solution would make sense. It needs to be a system that requires no previous skills with blockchain tech in order to bring adoption. And then there are id/ownership rights problem with permissionless tokens because holding a token is not a legal contract. Working tech doesn't yet exist and frankly i don't see it getting finished for next bullrun. And selling synthetics wouldn't be anything new. Or even anything desirable. 3. I am afraid that they did that for ETH, because they support the idea of PoS, and the narrative against PoW might bring some heated views.
Brand PR doesn't mix well with heated views especially when it comes to climate change and energy consumption, so Google might want to distance their brand from that payload.
Even though one could make an argument about energy consumption of google and google related services, but it wouldn't help the cause to call them out on any hypocrisy.
But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to explain why it deserves it. Focusing on the idea freedom, use cases like donations without borders, and green energy used for it could be good angles.

If I buy several lottery tickets and then leave my account dormant for a long time, say at least 6 months, and my ticket wins the jackpot during that time.
Will anything happen to my prize money? Will the casino refund my money because I never claimed any of the rewards?

There are few reported cases in my country when lottery didn't have to pay when winner didn't show up in a year. And they actually look for them, tell in the newspapers where the ticket was purchased etc, in order to find the missing winners. Sometimes they just don't show up. Maybe people have forgotten that they bought the ticket, lost the ticket or something happened. Before everything got digital, there was only a piece of paper to prove you are the winner. Without it it got difficult to prove. Now, here in finland there's a mandatory KYC if you want to gamble anything, and winnigs are paid directly to your account. There's no way to ask physical cash. I believe there was no money transfer at that time, people made use of their legs (walking) for payment after buying a product. But now customers use digital forms of payment such as flutterwaves, paypal, Bitcoin for international payment. Now the world have a digital currency which can be transfer globally (bitcoin)
Wiring money has existed longer then any person currently alive and Visa was founded 1958, so i am not sure what year you are referring to. Sure, people used to pay with cash and currently there are way more effective methods, but i am not sure what are you referring to with (walking) for payment after buying a product Are you talking about having to walk to bank to wire the money? Because you could have just used the credit card number. Finally: with the new technology, you pay goods on delivery, and the company carrier will deliver to you on your door step. With the pay on delivery, the scamming rate will reduce, because people have been scammed by the fake sellers online in the payment before delivery system.
What services are you referring to? Pay on delivery isn't really a mainstream way. In fact in most places they require payment in advance. In fact i know only one place that does this and it gets abused from time to time when people use others id:s to order them stuff they need to send back. |
