661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SBTC I want to explore the possibilities of distributing $1 worth of a 21M token on: November 30, 2023, 09:42:55 PM
I am not sure if there is a good way to distribute it evenly especially if you want to prevent botting it. There has been several different ways that people have tried. But none of them would be percectly working proof of personhood, which i am assuming you are after. Not without kyc:ing everyone at least.

But what do you mean by $1 worth? Why it would have value during the airdrop? Or are you already giving it a marketcap estimation? If so what's the point of that? I don't see a point for the whole token but i am guessing you are asking how to do this in theory.

But is this necessary? I am thinking it is a good idea, but what about you people. Is it a good ideas?
Not only a good idea, it's a brilliant idea, at least for credibility of proof of work consensus mechanism. For a long time i've seen giant centralized pools as a biggest threat to bitcoin.
And centralization of them was undermining the whole idea of centralization, so i am glad that someone is rethinking how we should approach idea of pools.

Only potential problem i see in this is someone will find an exploit and steals one block of rewards. And that's something i can live with. Also as i am not an expert i don't know where the fud will come towards this but
i am prepared to read critique against this with a grain of salt.

Do you guys also follow a similar strategy like gambling with 1% or 2% on each game? This way not only we are safe from losing big amounts but at the same time, we never find ourselves in a situation where we go all in, in some bet and then have the fear of losing all of our money.
-cut-
I have tried this, but problem with this tactic is that statistically you end up making more bets for same gains. If you make 100 bets, you have more changes to get losing bets that end up wiping your winnings. So i changed it to waiting for obvious results in live betting and raising the stakes for them.

When game has been played long enough and other side is winning so hard that' there's most likely not enough time to make enough points for even a draw. Often there aren't any gambling opportunities for bets like that but there always some when i look hard enough and wait. I raise the stakes enough to odds being worth it. Not everything though, as if i end up losing, i still have something left to gamble with

So far this tactic is looking good, but i can totally see some flaws in it that might end my winning streak.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think that this is aperfect analogy of how gambling addiction starts? on: November 29, 2023, 09:04:15 PM
Read this transcript of Andreas Analogy of how gambling addiction kicks off and tell me if you think he is right or not. Basically, your opinion.

Gambling is a tax for people who don't understand the mathematics of probability. If you understand how probability works,  you can't ever rationally gamble. The only reason you would gamble is if you decided, "I am going to lose money; the fun I have while I am losing money is worth it." "I am paying a fee for temporary fun." But most people cannot do that. Once you become drawn into the game, the gambling process triggers these responses. You start getting confirmation bias, selection bias, and survivor bias. These are known cognitive biases. The person who wins thinks they were lucky, but they don't think about all the times they lost. As you are doing this, it is triggering your dopamine centers.
If you could gamble rationally, there wouldn't be big wins as if it's rational, you can master it, and if you can master it, everyone with a bot can master it. That would mean everyone would be winning which is statistically impossible as it's a zero sum game and money has to come somewhere.

And Andreas is spot on like always when we speak about probability. But this is an analogy for investing into scams, and addiction mechanics.
And when we look at gambling from investment point of view, it obviously wouldn't make sense. Gambling however isn't investing and we can't assume that all people are in it to invest. Some of us are in it for pure thrill. It doesn't need to make perfect sense in terms of rational investing, as it's just one way to have fun. Some people invest with same mentality and that's what andreas is talking about. Investing for thrills is similiar to gambling. That's why people used to treat leverage trading as gambling and okcoin exchange was jokingly known as okcasino.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: withdraw Litecoin from exchange on: November 29, 2023, 08:20:43 PM
I wanted to withdraw Litecoin from one exchange and the only network available is bep20...
theres no other options...is this the right network to use? I think in the past the network was called litecoin network?

btw is LTC still the best option to use for withdrawals?

What ever exchange you are using, leave it. Because any exchange that would put low tx fees ahead of possibility for secure transactions is most likely a scam waiting to happen. Or at least they don't seem to know what they are doing. Are other coins and tokens available only in bep20 as well? Because i would assume so. I get all kind of scammy vibes from that. Poor scammers love bep20 as they don't need much capital to start a new operation.
666  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: November 29, 2023, 08:14:15 PM
By the way, i haven't really played plinko in anywhere for some reason, but now i decided to start and for some reason plinko is playing ridiculously slow when i am using it with my laptop, and by slow i mean like i would be playing at extra slow mode.

First i thought that since my laptop is from 2017,  it's not fast in these days standard and maybe it can't handle the code. But then out of interest i tried plinko with same settings in Stake and it works really fast. So i was wondering what would be a reason for it. I am not a coder but i don't believe that it would be about server speed.  Code optimization perhaps?
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will your altcoin go? check it out with this tool on: November 29, 2023, 07:59:56 PM
Not really projection or speculation, just a tool for comparison that can bring clarity to some people who think that price of one coin is meaningful info.

I used to do this by making my own calculator like this with spreadsheet. It's handy when coins aren't even listed yet and they are under $1M marketcap.
It's reasonable for many new tokens to reach $1M so i counted what would be my exit prices. That was actually making me lots of money when ever i wasn't buying a instant rug pull.

When i wanted to shill my bags i used to say that this has better fundamentals then coin A, and just pointing out that if it would have 1/5 marketcap of coin A, it would be worth N
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not this guy on: November 28, 2023, 10:53:18 PM
There is some certain amount of money that you will lose and you will be so pissed and probably quit, but not this guy.

I've been talking a lot about how people should learn to be a responsible gambler but there is a crazy gambler that I just meet, from a friends friend, the crazy thing about this person is how about how much he has lost in gambling, enough to go south in the ear of others and he has never made any big gains to cover what he has lost, the crazy part is...

This guy is giving me a weird vibe, like a different gambling breed, he knows he have the gambling addiction problem but he just doesn't care, like for real, he doesn't care, the amount he has lost is in six figures but very weird how he is able to handle it.

Some gamblers are different breed to be honest, they don't care about what their present situation is, if they are breathing they are good, anyone know crazy gambler who don't care if they lose big amount of money and they still gamble?

I've get to know that not all gamblers need to be a responsible gambler, some knows, they are not hypnotized by gambling, they are fully awake and they still choose to be a reckless gambler.
People can give vibes that they don't care because they are easier to be around with that attitude. That however doesn't mean they wouldn't care. Some people will just hide their problems better then others.
And it's not like everyone would have to care same amount. Some people find comfort on keeping appearences and they start to believe everything is fine as they do it.

And sometimes owning it is a good way to deal with a problem. When you are owning your failures you are more comfortable inside your skin and you start to accept yourself as a person that is also doing mistakes. Or as a person who is having different kind of lifestyle that wouldn't make sense to most people... As someone who likes to do risky or questionable choices in life.

That's a way to control yourself and suits some people. At least it's more honest and healthy way then lying to oneself that they are spending less then they actually are.
669  Economy / Economics / Re: Central banks getting ready for cbdc-s USA is good for freedom on: November 28, 2023, 10:41:09 PM
Conclusion: all other countries Will be clearly strongly regulated and less market dictating everything USA Will be ruled by the capital and markets more then other countries the USDC and usdt and other Stablecoins gives more freedom to people then other cbds projects.
You can think stablecoins as tokens representing a value of fiat money, CBDCs are that fiat money itself, so they are very much different concept.
And i am not sure where you are getting this idea that stablecoins would give you more freedom then cbdc. Every stable coin is complying authorities. Tether gives userdata to fbi and they are constantly freezing money etc...
Also stablecoins don't have anough liquidity to hold a candle to cbdc

In the next years we probably have situation when USA Will be like tax Free zone like dubai there will be a lot innovation and freedom and people would have more freedom becouse they can use freedom blockchain the btc eth USDT while most of the countries choose very heavy regulated without much of freedom at all cbdc system.
Do you think people in US will want to go in the same direction as dubai? Becoming a tribal autocracy? Human rights violations would go to next level, and most likely so would mass surveillance. Also no more rights for women or lgtb? Flogging and stoning becoming legal forms of judicial punishment? Is that american dream or what you are talking about?
670  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fight against corruption on: November 28, 2023, 10:22:18 PM
You know, I have always thought there is some weird relation between corruption and religions which are prominent in some societies, while they are non-existant in other. For example, we all know that most of religions, specially those Abramic ones (Judaism, Islam and Christianity) teach people not to lie or not to corrupt themselves, always to seek to do good to others, in short.
So we could assume that the most religious a country is, the less corruption we are supposed to find, right?
Still, we see that in Latin America (where Christianity is very prevalent) corruption is widespread, I am not sure why. I have never been in a country whether the other of those religions are the majority, so I cannot say whether it is different in Saudi Arabia or Israel.

A good example of the inconsistency of this is also how many Mafia members and Mafia bosses in Italy are very religious (Catholic) and yet, they willingly participate in organized crime. I do not understand whether all this is just about hipocresy or something else.
What are your thoughts?
Because just moral guidelines based on belief aren't enough to build a society. Religious values aren't optimal for removing corruption, in fact quite the opposite. Churches are part of scandals all the time. And even if there would be good moral teachings some people would follow, forgiveness loophole gives you an excuse to do anything in the end.
Rules and regulations forced by law and transparency are way more effective. But that doesn't suite everyone as that more accountability also means more surveillance and less privacy.
At least by current standards. Things could change when we crack scaling of zero knowledge proof to be used in IDs and contracts. I know that won't suite everyone either, but removing corruption has cost something.
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Compounding altcoin profits in bull run? on: November 28, 2023, 09:36:09 PM
-cut-
I know this is risky as it only takes one altcoin to go to zero to lose my money but I am ok starting with £100 - does anyone else do this?
I've seen several people trying to do this in years i've been in this game. Some of them are proud that they have found this way, like they invented the fire.
But like you said. All it needs is one altcoin that's not 2x:ing, and these coin flippers lose their composure

And since here are more altcoins out there that go down then up, you can guarantee that some point you will encounter them.
Some of the projects will be even rug pulls so you can't even sell in loss as there's no liquidity to sell. So you will lose everything.
Losing your money on bad investments is another thing, but it will sting to lose your money to a scammer. More then you know.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zugacoin vs bitcoin. on: November 28, 2023, 09:43:20 AM
I have come to the conclusion that no matter what happens, bitcoin still remain the father of Crypto currency. As at the year 2021 zugacoin was the most expensive coin in the history of Crypto currency, which worth beyond the price of bitcoin at about $285,677 clamouring for $450k then. I was thinking that how possible is it that a coin could be over expensive compeard to the first Crypto currency? But today I went to check if the price of zuga has met it target, but only to discover that it's just worth noting less than $1 at about $0.157 this made me believe that bitcoin still remain the Head.

So what do you guys think was the cause of suden dip of zugacoin?
https://www.google.com/url?q=https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/zugacoin/&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwi4yLKF5eWCAxXVWEEAHVMjAbsQFnoECAcQAg&usg=AOvVaw2n-vhuwGX1HVeNEDuyzyga

Sudden dip of over 2 years long? Reason is that it was an obvious scam that no one had heard of.

Reason why it was "expensive" is an easy trick. Anyone can make a token with price movenent like that. Just distribute token you are making to your own walelts, trade them in dex from wallet to wallet to create fake volume. If you want more volume, choose a chain that has cheap tx fees. Keep doing that and some newbs see it as a real legit token they buy into. Remove any of your own liquidity if you had any and and start selling. If people panic sell their tokens to you in dirt price, you can do it once again. After you get bored, just slowly leave the project.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We should start looking into Altcoins on: November 28, 2023, 09:20:48 AM
The only problem is how to pinpoint what altcoin will increase next. It's true that they might pour their profits into Altcoins like how it was years ago because this is how making profits is but it actually doesn't stay that way for a long time. Once Bitcoin plunged down next it sold those Altcoin to buy Bitcoin back.
But I don't think that's now. The FOMO is high in Bitcoin because of the upcoming ETF and then there's the halving. I mean, what is a year to us investors, it will be like waking up the next day and it's already a year. Time flies fast and while they can ride the boat at this price, many investors will use their purchasing power to make a profit when ETF is approved.
It's not bad to buy a little bit of those altcoins that you mentioned, just be sure that you are also ready when Bitcoin starts pumping.

That's the million dollar question. According to Solidus Rug Pull Report from 2022 there were already 350 new scam tokens released daily and amount was only growing so who knows how many there are today.

So when picking the token, i often thought that i should stay away from old small caps as they were most likely long died projects. And i should either invest to mid/high caps or low caps with ton of active development, enough funding left.
But especially old small caps that would have any future are rare to find and don't necessarily raise with the rest of the bull run. So i thought i should invest to new coins and tokens instead. Those often raise from nothing and get fomo for no real reason. But they do often get gains before collapsing. But solidus report confirms something most of us knew, that changes to find new rising star from all the scams are slim to none

Account merger or account transfer can be the best option
-cut-
Account merging is actually interesting and original idea, at least from player's point of view.  And that would be accurately targeted marketing, as one would assume that they would want to attract those high rollers specifically.

In fact it seems so clever it makes me wonder why wouldn't new casinos just offer this service, no matter if they are part of related casino.
Ssure, casinos would lose money used to put in by account growers, but they would surely get those highroller players, and those customers are harder to come by.

In comparidon, SBF's trial is now over, and he was found guilty on seven counts of wire fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering and is facing up to 110 years in prison.

Trump charged with several felony counts, and if he is found guilty of them all (as he most likely is most of them), i am wondering what's is he facing, and why his fans think he is untouchable? Do they think that we are in uncharted waters just because he used to eat burgers in white house?
676  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: November 27, 2023, 05:12:38 PM
Please show me in the Stake TOS where it says I need a utility bill for proof of address. They provide a list of other options which I provide. They then ask me specifically to send a “utility bill.” According to ToS I have other options than Utility bill which I provided. 1 dollar per post from Stake must be a lot of money for you.
[/quote]

Quote from: stake tos
8.11 Stake reserves the right to carry out additional KYC verification procedures for any withdrawal. Players who wish to recover funds held in a closed, locked or excluded account, are advised to contact support@stake.com
.
They don't have to mention everything that is legally needed for KYC as it varies. So maybe read about KYC regulations in general.
There are several reasons an suspicion levels that can get you flagged for more investigation. Just by using crypto you might be in a list that requires enhanced due diligence by law. So i find it weird when people seriously think that casinos would have time to get them personally targeted. And it's always about "unfair" kyc policies.

Crypto casinos need to follow the AML regulations to the book and it's not just by crypto casinos. It can happen trough any service that's handling money because they are responsible to report details about their money flow. Often innocent people get investigated and get their money frozen until investigation is finished, but those issues can be fixed later on.

But imagine not complying. In fact you don't need to. Just look at CZ and Binance and $4 Billion dollars in fines with potential jail time. Why would any CEO want to risk that?
677  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: November 27, 2023, 04:46:55 PM
For me, Physical reward is just a hassle since we are betting online to have convenience on bets. I still preferred cash prize or free spin as rewards compared to physical items that I can purchase by myself online through e-commerce.

The limited edition apparels of Shuffle is an exemption since this is one of kind and only available from this casino. But the rest of the item that can be purchased online is better to be converted with cash prize to avoid paying for taxes and shipping fee.
I can't figure out why it wouldn't be just a hassle for everyone. That's why i use crypto in the first place. Because it's easy. It doesn't take physical space unlike getting a package from another country. I am not even sure how our customs would deal with that or would i need to pay taxes for it before getting it if it's coming outside of EU. With btc /usdt prize equivalent, i would get the prize instantly and spend it as i wish. Well obviously there are taxes. But technically you should pay those for any kind of prizes you get.

Obviously i wouldn't complain getting prize in any form if i should be that lucky. But i can't figure out that whom would it better to get something valuable in a form of laptop than money equivalent of that laptop.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: November 27, 2023, 04:06:21 PM
The biggest joke of the century is that Barbie is actually nominated? I am not saying that it didn't try to have some sort of meaning, there isn't really just some dancing and chat, there is this main idea behind it as well, and that's understandable, the whole "Barbie created terrible expectations from woman" type of situation and I agree, BUT when we are talking about a movie about potentially what caused the death of all humans, I would say the idea behind Barbie can't ever be taken seriously. And... it's Barbie lol, seriously? Barbie? Oppenheimer will win this one without even trouble, it is not going to be even a discussion about it, there isn't even any movie that could be alternative to it.

Other categories are fine too, but Cillian Murphy MUST win the best actor, that dude played the role perfectly, I wouldn't say a single line was out of order, he played it so amazingly on every single scene he was in, he definitely deserves it no question.
I am not sure why should movies be comparable in this way. Why couldn't movies with different genres enter into the game? Imho depth is just a matter of perspective and we need all kinds of movies. The idea that movies should all be heavy to process, artsy, or deal with concepts like oppenheimer in order to be taken seriously, would leave us with pretty bleak cinema.

Lack of depth in a movies is in eye of beholder as you can see lots of levels in different movies. They don't all need to be sad or direct about something that happened. It's not about who makes the saddest and most realistic movie should win. And it's not like Barbie went with the easiest route. It went all in bashing the very firm it was advertising. Backgrounds weren't digitally added. But moved by hand. Music was actually well done considering it was mostly musical. Imho it was bold and original, and left Bechdel test seem to be like a bad memory in movie history.

Sometimes being funny is the sugar we need to get the medicine in while being all preachy about it.

Edit: This might make it more difficult for judges to justify "best leading role" or something like that, but i assume it makes it more predictable for outcomes, as many people will see "serious" and sad roles with genocide ect, as winners. Which they often are. But there are other areas to judge, which makes the whole event more interesting and fair

In short: that's a scam.

I've never been into altcoins, since I started my journey into cryptocurrency, it has always been bitcoin for me. Reading OP's hype of altcoins, was gradually getting my attention, because I like the way he was explaining the altcoin market current updates. Suddenly I scrolled down to your comments and now you have deflated my interest in considering giving a short at  altcoins again.

Guess I'm back to where I was , focusing only on bitcoin, with it's considerable risks, compared to how I hear altcoins, can just disappear and die, in the shortest time. Eventually I'll start my journey in altcoins, but it'll be a top altcoin, not any new hyped projects in the market.

From my findings I know that altcoins can be profitable in a short time, like bitcoin trading, only that it's like gambling, where there's chances of losing your investment too. Difference is that altcoins can disappear but bitcoin doesn't.
You can't judge all altcoins because of one misleading shilling post. There are decent altcoins out there, and then there these kind of scams, they are not comparable.
And there are always going to be lying involved when people are trying to sell their visions or bags they are holding.

And yes, most altcoins are going nowhere or even solve anything, but that doesn't mean they are all scams even if 99% of them are purely made for eventual rug pulling reasons.

680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether publishes transaparency report daily, why is it suspicious stablecoin? on: November 26, 2023, 10:57:59 PM
First of all why should we believe this numbers ? It's their own audit and this is not done by a third party and until it's audited via a reliable third party auditing firm we will.not believe in the numbers shared, they can easily manipulate is with these made up numbers which they publish to fool us and to continue gaining our trust that our funds are safe but in reality they will not even have 1/4th of the reserve which they have mentioned and it's a bubble which is gonna burst anytime.

Secondly, Why USDT is getting all the hate? It's simple, because it has the most funds out of all the stable coins and when one talks about stable coin Tether is the first thing which comes to their mind and it's obvious that the more people use it more it would get more exposure and it would go through more scrutiny, which they can shut down by allowing an third party audit.
I am not sure where this rumor is coming from. They have been using independed auditing services.

Imho this hate towards tehter has long history and roots for it coming from the past when tether was one of the most centralized and regulated service and people thought it was a thread to crypto, as it was sort of mascarating crypto for newcomers.

I don't see it that way as it was important liquidity source. In the past we used to have mainly btc pairs with alts. Which wasn't a bad thing but in bear run it was quite devastating when your options were to cash out or hodl.
