1581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Litecoin can't reach Bitcoin price? on: August 29, 2014, 06:31:07 PM
Now of course there are countless other coins to point GPUs at, so Litecoin isn't really needed all that much anymore.

But now there are ASIC miners which need homes, Litecoin is one current home for many of them.

The fact is that Litecoin's price-tag MUST rise as production increases, otherwise production has to slow which means a percentage of current and new scrypt mining has to migrate to different currencies, increasing their production cost and price-tag instead.

The only way for both production cost and price tag to continue rising is by increase in adoption, which takes lots of hard work and effort.

There was less choice in those days. That's why all the GPU power was concentrated at Litecoin. It was a totally different crypto world back then.
1582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Litecoin can't reach Bitcoin price? on: August 29, 2014, 06:22:44 PM
Perhaps people need to ask themselves why Litecoin rose in price in the first place.

In the bitcoin mining GPU days everyone was happily mining Bitcoin, Litecoin had but a few adopters. Then along came the Bitcoin asics. Suddenly GPUs were redundant, miners simply found another coin to point their GPU power at, which happened to be Litecoin.
I for one did the same. But I wasn't interested in Litecoin. The whole point was to continue the fun of GPU mining and dump the coins for Bitcoin which is what I wanted. I suspect many other miners were doing the same.

Now of course there are countless other coins to point GPUs at, so Litecoin isn't really needed all that much anymore, at least for me anyway, can't say about others.

Not meant in an offensive way, but your quite new here. I'm guessing (though I might be wrong) that your not up to speed with Dank's colourful history.
I don't understand how you thinking alerting newbies on this forum about Dank being a proven scammer irresponsible?
It's an ongoing cycle. Dank requests another loan, previous debt concerns arise, Dank lies, then the shitstorm happens.

Till the next time.

Ok shill.  Please site one lie.  Good luck.
How's this for starters:
I'm doing all one man can do.

And Dank Bank was not a ponzi.
That's what pirate said about his.
1584  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan for community in mountains on: August 29, 2014, 05:55:12 PM
Isn't it interesting Dank hates 'evil corporations', but happily supports one of them by having an iPhone and at least one more charging the thing up.   Roll Eyes
1585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Litecoin can't reach Bitcoin price? on: August 29, 2014, 01:48:41 PM
Why

Because people aren't willing to pay the same for Litecoin as they are for Bitcoin. Bitcoin is king. Can't see that changing anytime soon, not unless something significantly better comes along.

1586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone please tell me this isn't how transactions always work.... on: August 29, 2014, 10:40:22 AM
In my opinion, it seems it would be better for the wallet to break up larger outputs into multiple smaller outputs so that less total value is locked up in an unconfirmed transaction.

I think this is the best solution. While it would be helpful if a wallet offered to do this, people can do it themselves now. If you have $60 worth of btc at an address in your wallet, then do this: Before going out just send a couple of $20 transactions to two new addresses (or even to the same address) in your wallet. After that you should have 3 unspent txouts worth about $20. Then there's no need to make change. It's not so different from making sure you don't leave the house with only a $100 bill in your wallet.

No. An address when spent must spend it's total value.
1587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: August 29, 2014, 06:51:37 AM
Same..  I might drop some Fiat on LTC actually..  FTC also attracts me.
Curious about the interest in FTC.  Aside from the fact it's about the lowest price it's ever been, I've not seen any buy signals that would indicate anyone else taking an interest in it.  Last I heard there wasn't much active development, but to be fair I haven't paid any attention to it for at least 6 months.  It seems I'm still holding 0.249 FTC for some reason.

And FTC is only going to get lower, along with it's bitcoin-clone brother, LTC.

FTC are changing from scrypt to something else. A year or two ago this would of been a big thing. Nowadays this just doesn't cut the ice.
1588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone please tell me this isn't how transactions always work.... on: August 29, 2014, 06:47:28 AM
There is also another issue here not been discussed yet. As we all know, keeping private keys on an online device is just not safe. I can't see that changing anytime soon.

Mobile device connected to internet with private keys? Just asking for trouble. Encrypting keys only has limited protection, as they need to be decrypted into memory before signing the transaction.

Sorry if I'm derailing thread a bit.

RIP
1590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How easy it is to KILL bitcoin. on: August 28, 2014, 06:05:37 PM
there is one thing that bothers me, once mining become useless, all that computing power most likely will be trying to find private keys to our wallets

This would be a complete waste of time and energy as mining ASICs don't do this calculation.

You can try to crack addresses using vanitygen if you like.

Hope you got plenty of time on your hands. Cheesy
1591  Economy / Lending / Re: Am about to go homeless, could use some help on: August 28, 2014, 05:26:59 PM
It just irritates me greatly when ANYONE stands up as some sort of beacon of light/truth for others while their actions are the exact opposite  Undecided
You don't want to followed any Dank threads then. You'll be irritated trust me.
1592  Other / Off-topic / Re: So when we going to be classed as an "extremist forum"? on: August 28, 2014, 04:10:10 PM
This is hilarious. I wonder how long has the NSA been looking over at us.
There is probably some database just for us where new information is being put in daily.

I expect we'll find out when the next inevitable leak arrives.
I bet the NSA wakeup each day and think "is today the day the next shitstorm will arrive?"

Oh, and that applys to GCHQ here in UK as well. Which according to Snowden, is worse than NSA.
1593  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: August 28, 2014, 03:52:20 PM
Machinery is built by a machine maker. The more complex the machinery, the more complex that machine maker. Any one of you, stand there and call a grain of sand into existence out of nothing. Nobody can do it, yet the stuff is here, and the so-called scientific methods suggested for where the stuff comes from are pure guesses. The evidence is overwhelmingly for a God, and a very powerful One.

Smiley
But this not evidence BADecker. I'm neutral, it makes no difference to me. Filling in the blanks with God because we don't understand something is not evidence.

This is called "wishful thinking". Wishful thinking is not evidence. Sorry to burst your balloon, but it isn't.
1594  Economy / Lending / Re: Am about to go homeless, could use some help on: August 28, 2014, 03:41:29 PM
It does not matter how much effort you put in if all you're doing is destroying.

How do you feel when mother nature destroys? Volcanos, natural forest fires, diseases etc...

A lot better than when man detonates nuclear bombs.

@Tax We make the world the way it is.  We choose how our society is constructed.  Only when the people at the bottom realize we hold the power over our world can we stop partaking in a society that puts us at the 'bottom'.

As someone who actually does good in this world... I'm not sure if you are using truth and love as a form of manipulation to lure people into wanting to help you.

If you are.. my friend your soul will have a heavy burden to carry, to hold any beacon of light and pretend to usher people out of darkness is not something you should do trivially with emotions of entitlement or rebelliousness..  if you are genuinely miss guided in your attempts to help others, you should focus on your emotional damage before you seek to help anyone and I wish you the best on your journey.

No sir, my intentions are none other than to help guide others to peace.  I know the power of infinite love, having experienced complete egodeath, and I know there is no material thing that can compare with the power true love brings.

Please understand that being 20 and facing homelessness at first was daunting.  Looking back, I made way too big of a deal for it and I see it as completely perfect.  It has assisted me in establishing and engaging my life plan, beyond what I would have perceived otherwise, if I did not experience life as I did.

Before you can guide others to peace, you should look to assume responsibilities for the way some of your actions negatively impact the emotions of others. It would seem someone here really went out on a limb to give you their own resources and though others have irresponsibly vomited anger on you for it. I have yet to see the person who lent you their money out of love flame you openly on this thread, You have a strong sense of entitlement which is detrimental to you growing in any sort of love. Blaming the system (Although the system is wrong) is a deflection and your actions here have been unloving and are not in harmony with truth, what so ever.

Not meant in an offensive way, but your quite new here. I'm guessing (though I might be wrong) that your not up to speed with Dank's colourful history.

I think that people who believe in god are retarded
I don't think there is any need for that. People can believe whatever they choose. It's their choice.

People who start blowing others up with missiles, generally doing bad things using God as a reason are the retarded ones.
1596  Other / Off-topic / Re: So when we going to be classed as an "extremist forum"? on: August 28, 2014, 02:55:12 PM
Probably already is considered as such.

Are you also a BoingBoing reader?
No, perhaps I should look into it. More extremist the better!

Yep, quite ridiculous if you ask me.

If you want the NSA to consider you to be an extremist, you can always visit the website in my signature.
Now THAT is funny. Cheesy
Is it your site?
1597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How easy it is to KILL bitcoin. on: August 28, 2014, 10:57:01 AM
That is an ignorant topic...A more accurate topic would be "How easy it is to SLOW DOWN bitcoin"

Do you really think that with such global awareness and the amount of ridiculous accumulative intelligence we have we will not find a way?

Give me a break.. the day any oppressive regimes band together to fight Bitcoin at that level is the day BITCOIN will grow TEETH and bite back.. Remember that..

Examples?  Napster/Kazaa/Limewire - Evolution... Bittorrent

Ignorant topic, got you talking about the reasons p2p should be shut down, they all origionated from piracy?

Yeah, welcome to bitcoin..

All you did for me here was point out why people should'nt bother if they are anywhere near good people with money to spend.. me, i prefer legit.. or go without..

Please do not mistake the confused laws of a few emotionally damaged men as LEGIT... The government has passed a law indicating that it is OK to kill the leader of anything viewed as a riot or civil unrest via the use of military grade weapons not limited to but including sniper rifles with impunity.

So let me get this straight... four of us meet up at my house (What they refer to as a gathering in their white paper) and we go a peacefully sit down outside a gov building to protest how they handled situation X... a few other people see us and join us because they were also dominated by situation X... now I as the unofficial party 'leader'  and I am a target? Fuck off.. that is nonsensical and totalitarian.

Illegal is subjective to the eye of the person who is controlling the situation.. The laws of man and the laws of the universe are completely different..

They won't try to shut down bitcoin... it has way too much traction and serious groups of extremely intelligent hacktivists behind it.

http://fas.org/irp/doddir/army/fm3-19-15.pdf

Enjoy your new regime

Fuckin idiots doin nowt but talking about pirate apps.. Illegal is subjective to the eye of the person who is controlling the situation, yeah, hows about they send me in to regain control, and you shut the fuck up or i shoot you, hack that ya twat..

Dicksperiment clearly is a very angry little man, and has some serious life challenges ahead of him. Although he's wrong in most situations, a broken clock is correct twice a day, and I agree with him on fact that illegal is subjective.
1598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How easy it is to KILL bitcoin. on: August 28, 2014, 07:21:25 AM
And what if it came to pass that a substantial portion of tor nodes were run by or monitored by the government?

This would be disastrous.
That's why it's so important people run their own nodes and contribute.

I run a tor and bitcoin node 24/7. Just doing my bit.

The cost is bandwidth, electricity and a big NSA red flag against my name. (Probably amber actual, not red.)
1599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How easy it is to KILL bitcoin. on: August 28, 2014, 07:17:55 AM
Neither TOR nor the "deep web" is controlled by the government.

Citation required.

Of course, even if either tor or the "deep web" or both were controlled, influenced or monitored by the government, they would deny any such claims. So, how do you *know*?

Where is all the love in that dank that you preach of?
He spent all his love on drugs. Wonder if he's worked out yet the drugs will never love him back?

You do realize that everything that exists on this planet is a drug, correct?  Everything is chemicals.
You know full well what I'm talking about. There's more to life than getting high on drugs. Sure, if getting high is you thing, nothing wrong with that. Enjoy it.

But your entire life revolves around drugs. Nothing else matters but when that next 'fix' is coming.

That my friend, is sad.

Changing the subject, you do realise that self-employed people are taxed too don't you? Are you going to be paying tax on profits from this tent thing? Or is it an illegal setup?
