161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: June 12, 2024, 08:06:26 PM
^ I agree that the hype is dying down. I was coming here to post that with all the new rumored opponents and seemingly up in the air as to what exactly is happening this close to a major event is pretty bad news for Netflix getting into the fight game. I understand they couldn’t just call off the event due to the amount of money behind it, but this was supposed to be a big moment for Netflix with live sports and now it will only be a letdown.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump vs. Biden is almost like Bitcoin vs Fiat on: June 12, 2024, 07:13:08 PM
I’m just glad I got my bets for President in early because Biden’s odds of winning are sinking like a stone as he continues to embarrass himself and spout lies around the country. Anything can happen when known cheaters are involved, but I think it’s likely that Joe Biden is going to lose the Presidency by the most votes in American history, and I’d make that bet.
163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 12, 2024, 07:10:02 PM
RIP to Jerry West. The man was literally the logo of the NBA and one of its most respected historical players. I really loved the Winning Time show that featured him in it as a character. He’s a Lakers legend, an NBA legend, and he will no doubt live on as the logo for the NBA around the world for many years to come…
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Bets! on: June 12, 2024, 06:56:17 AM
The odds on Trump winning are sure taking a dive. On my last bet for Trump to win I had to include it in a parlay with Chimaev to win his upcoming UFC fight in order to make the odds worth betting on. I think this might be my play for the rest of the year. Anytime a bet doesn’t have good enough odds I’m just going to parlay it with Trump winning back the White House.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing, the Trump pump is beginning on: June 12, 2024, 06:54:06 AM
I was a bit surprised to see that Trump is becoming more and more likely to be our next President. I’ve been adding to my betting position for Trump to win the next election but when I started I was getting 2:1 odds and now I’m only getting 1.6:1 odds. Mainstream media might be saying Biden has a chance, but the casinos don’t seem to be telling that story.
166  Economy / Goods / Re: Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN on: June 12, 2024, 06:50:27 AM
I went through all the steps to trade-in my current car in my Tesla app (successfully) so now the only thing left for me to do is wait until I can provide insurance information and setup my delivery appointment. Not too surprised to see them only offer $1,400 for my current car, which displays how much of an upgrade this will be for me. My first new car since discovering Bitcoin. Smiley
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: June 12, 2024, 06:45:49 AM
I can’t speak for other countries, but at least here in the United States, gambling has some positive effects to go along with the typical negatives. For example, our lottery system generates money that helps fund our education system. Call it a tax on people who are bad at math to pay to educate others to be better. Smiley
168  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: June 12, 2024, 06:44:24 AM
Sounds like some good old fashioned solid advice. Thinking about it now, it almost seems strange I haven’t heard stories of people taking ambien and then waking up to find they lost their entire net worth gambling while they were under the influence. Seems like I’ve heard lots of ambien tales, but surprisingly not that one.
169  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: June 11, 2024, 09:54:13 PM
Trying to beat the UTC clock today! It took me a few days to recover from doing 300 in a day but I feel like I’m back to normal again. It still gets challenging doing more than 40 in a set for me, but I think once 50 is as easy for me to do as 40 is now, I’ll see if I can make a run for hitting the BTC price in a single set.

170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: June 11, 2024, 06:45:26 PM
Here's my bet for tomorrow's game.  After looking over the different bets I didn't really see anything worth betting on as far as odds go, so I figured I'd punt it and hope that Dallas manages to surprise Boston on the Mavericks home court to keep from being swept.  I think if they do manage to avoid going down 0-3, it will be barely winning.  We'll see.  Anything can happen and I sort of expect Boston to win, but the odds just didn't justify making that bet.

Dallas Mavericks - Boston Celtics
Winning Margin (Incl. Overtime)
Dallas Mavericks by 1-5

Odds
5.49
171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Breakout Alert! 🚀 on: June 11, 2024, 05:59:16 PM
It seems like hedge funds are shorting so much Bitcoin that a breakout to the upside wasn’t possible. This is an interesting way for hedge funds to make a little money collecting pennies in front of a steamroller, but more than that it gives them the ability to decide exactly when we see the god candle by covering their short positions. I imagine that is valuable information to have. Don’t let them scare you out.
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't advice anyone to invest on Bitcoin if he doesn't have Alt. income on: June 11, 2024, 05:56:54 PM
I received my first couple BTC by selling a video game code that came with one of my graphics cards. Looking back, it’s funny now that those BTC turned out to be so valuable. However, it isn’t a bad way to get your hands on some Bitcoin. Surely you must own something that someone would be interested in buying from you using BTC.
173  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 11, 2024, 05:52:05 PM
Fck those bulltards on X.

There is currently no such thing as a bull market.

so when does the bull market starts for you this cycle?

I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me it started when BTC fell below $20K. Since the bottom we’ve quadrupled the market cap and we’re still early enough in the cycle where another double from here seems more likely than not. However, this is the point where you start making sure your off-ramps are set and ready to go for when the time arrives.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you really want from gambling? on: June 11, 2024, 05:49:35 PM
Me personally, I want exciting sounds and flashy lights that give me a warm fuzzy feeling inside to kill a few minutes here or there with some entertainment. Sure, good odds and the possibility of winning money are nice motivators as well, but ultimately I just want to enjoy myself without too much commitment.
175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kicking/banning and or limiting a player for winning too much on: June 11, 2024, 05:48:05 PM
It’s pretty rare for a casino to cut someone off because they’re winning too much. I’ve heard of it happening at high stakes tables when a player keeps doubling their bet until they finally get ahead, but in small stakes online gambling is find it a little hard to believe this is happening without some other form of interference going on.
176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 11, 2024, 05:46:05 PM
The crazy thing is that the Mavericks are the favorites to win game 3… In not sure home court advantage can make up for the shortcomings we’ve been witnessing.

Yeah I don't think they should be favored here.  Boston has too many weapons and even with Luka playing well they can't seem to figure out how to slow them down.  Games have been hitting the under but if Boston wants to turn it up they can.  I think they have just been dictating the pace.  We could legitimately see a sweep here.

I guess if you were going to favor Dallas in a game it would be this one. A loss tomorrow effectively ends their season. Nobody has ever come back down 0-3 in the Finals. So I’m sure we’ll see them give their best effort of the season. It’s a lost cause though. Boston has their number and I don’t think this series goes longer than 5 games. Most likely only 4.

EDIT: Report from twitter states: “Kristaps Porzingis Reportedly Has A Torn Medial Retinaculum In His Left Leg And His Status For The Rest Of The Finals Is Up In The Air”

Dallas with some hope for game 3…

178  Economy / Speculation / Re: plant a tree, when bitcoin price increase new record $1k on: June 10, 2024, 05:43:29 PM
Haven't you heard that trees are bad now?  Bill Gates is actually planning to cut down entire forests of trees and then bury the wood to keep other trees from being able to grow there.  Sounds crazy right?  I know.  It is.  That doesn't stop it from being true though.  Bill Gates and his liberal buddies want to cut down on the amount of life on earth by removing CO2 from the atmosphere.  The problem is that if they remove more CO2 then trees will literally start to suffocate and people would notice something is up.  Their solution?  Cut the human population of the earth by 40% and start cutting down forests so people don't notice how bad things are when their landscaping starts suffocating.

I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory.  I wish it was.  Go down the rabbit hole yourself.
179  Economy / Collectibles / Re: I'm surprised this hobby and genre of crypto collectibles isn't more popular on: June 10, 2024, 05:30:57 PM
6. What am I missing?

I would say the massive amount of BTC that has been scammed by shady people selling loaded collectibles is what keeps this hobby from being taken seriously.  Not to mention creators that don't scam their customers are attacked by alt accounts of other creators in an attempt to funnel customers away from them leaving new users unsure of who can be trusted.  Until it's more clear who can be trusted and who is just trying to get some easy USD pretending to be friends with users here in chat rooms all day to fleece their "friends" with overpriced goods, I think this hobby will continue to struggle.  Just my $0.02 as someone who has been heavily involved in this trade for more than 13 years.

Edit: I shouldn’t name names. I apologize.
180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 09, 2024, 11:20:43 PM
Game 2 of the final series will be played tonight.
Boston Celtics vs Dallas Mavericks

My favorite again will be the Dallas Mavericks, Kyrie Irving didn't contribute much in the first game but I think he will tonight.

Dallas Mavericks have a problem, Doncic is expected to play in tonight's game despite his chest, knee and ankle injuries, if he does not play in the final series they will definitely lose the cup. I hope they play and win.

This whole series depends on Luka being healthy.  If he goes down at any point it's a wrap.  I like kyrie too but no way he can carry that team to 4 wins against Boston.  I expect kyrie to have a bounce back game tonight.  Dallas needs both him and Luka to be in top form.  The part I'm interested in watching is how they are going to guard Krista's this game.

With Luka walking into the game like he’s dying and telling everyone he probably won’t play because of injuries, it seems like Dallas has already given up.
