161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: December 20, 2023, 08:03:17 AM

Informing about the dangers of too much gambling and the high probability of a player becoming addicted to gambling at the stage of the disease is indeed very widespread now in the world.
Almost everyone who starts gambling is well aware of the possibility of such a development of events.  However, a player who can be called safe does not pay too much attention to such warnings and plays as much as he wants.  And he has absolutely no idea when he crosses the border that separates his gambling from gambling addiction.  And quite often it turns out that the player has already become addicted to gambling, but he does not understand it yet.  And close people already understand that there is a problem, but the player tells them that he can easily stop playing at any time.  But in fact, this is not at all true, he is not able to do this voluntarily because it is a mental illness.  It’s not so easy to find informaation about this boundary between healthy and unhealthy gambling on the Internet.  And therefore, simply information about the dangers of gambling is not enough to effectively combat gambling addiction.

Before someone enters the gambling industry, one must already know the possible dangers of gambling. It's not always rainbows and sunshines in gambling. There will always be times that one will be unlucky and experience losses. Those losses are learning lessons to do better next time around. If one will disregard the consequences of gambling, it's really highly possible that he will suffer addiction later on. And this is because not considering the possible negative effects means being complacent. When you get complacent, you do not care about doing better and rather just go with the flow. So the longer the dependency, the harder it will take for someone to quit gambling.
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: December 20, 2023, 07:20:44 AM
I just read this and then re-read it, I don't understand the consensus made by the OP to get the result "rich gamblers get more profits than poor gamblers", if only in the situation of capital used in each gambling session, then why is there so much Many rich people have fallen into poverty as a result of gambling, I think additional strong arguments are needed in this claim, because the facts in the field of claim do not have an exact correlation.

I want to know what kind of approach was taken to conclude that the statement could be justified. Huh

I think the OP mostly implies the scenario to those gamblers who are rich, whom has many funds at their disposal to use in gambling, and at the same time, responsible enough to know when to continue and when to stop. Winning big profits doesn't just become possible by merely being rich. You have to be strategic and knowledgeable as well so that you can take advantage of having big money allotment while not neglecting the possibility that you could be addicted if you go beyond your capabilities.

It's doesn't necessarily mean that if you are rich, then you'll also profit big automatically. No, it don't work like that. You also need to do your part such as digesting the information relevant to what you are interested in, for instance in sportsbetting, so you can enjoy winning and the rewards as well.
163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 19, 2023, 03:43:41 PM
Both of them is fun, it's just that adding bet or getting money involve makes it more exciting.
People would enjoy watching the sports that they like with or without bet, for me betting on sports is a form of support for your favorite team.
But it would be different for each of us, there are others who would prefer to just watch to enjoy it cause they don't want to be so excited, they just want to enjoy and focus on watching rather than thinking about their bet while watching.

Valid points.

Most people have fun watching their favorite sports with or without bet because they are enthusiastic enough to watch the progress and possible outcome of the game. The way their preferred team and bias player handles the game and while the gameplay unfolds in front of them is what makes them feel fascinated and hooked up in watching despite no money is at stake. But of course, like what you said, it's more exciting jf there is a bet involved because there will be a heightened emotion with the risk of losing it especially if it's a huge amount. Some finds it a good thing to stimulate their mind, while some find it stressful. I guess it still depends on the person on what works for him.
164  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 19, 2023, 02:34:36 PM
Gambling is kind of thing that actually don't need to teach anyone, anyone can found it automatically by seeing others doing betting locally or by seeing advertise on tv or YouTube, even there are many websites that redirect you to gambling websites without your permission. So your friend could know about gambling through such process, then he'll blame to whom? Any why should blaming each other when it totally depends on a person how he wish to manage this thing. Now he is mature enough and need to learn how not to addicted with it but use it for fun or totally avoid it if necessary. Blaming other is kind of lame excuse & lame trick to hidden his own faults

One shouldn't really blame someone for his own doing. If you are influenced by an acquaintance or a close friend to gambling, or even a relative, it's not their fault that you let yourself be involved too. After all, it's still your own doing if you will give in because the final decision is still yours to execute. You can be disappointed and be sad in the beginning, especially if it doesn't turn out the way you expected it. You can even feel some madness in your heart, but remember that you should not direct your emotions to the person who introduced gambling to you. Unless of course, if that someone forced or tricked you so you will play and bet.
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 19, 2023, 11:43:00 AM

A gambler who cannot control himself usually acts like that, winning or losing has a big influence on a gambler's attitude and in my opinion this is what gamblers should pay attention to. They are allowed to gamble as long as they don't involve emotions if they lose, let alone take it out on the people around them. This is really a bad attitude. Indeed, when you win, the feeling of happiness arises because you have made a profit and that is a natural trait within us. but when we lose we must be able to restrain ourselves from being carried away by emotions which will cause a breakdown in household harmony.

And it's true, like your advice, it's better to stop gambling if it makes you emotional. OP has to do everything for the sake of the family because gambling causes more losses than profits. But if the aim is to find entertainment, it's not a problem as long as you can manage your finances and use as little as possible so that it doesn't spend a lot of money. Your advice is good for OP and can be used for gamblers here who behave the same as OP.

This is on point.

Most of the time, gamblers are really carried away by their emotions during the peak and low points in their life. Winning and losing significantly impacts most gambler's behavior and attitude because they are too emotional to begin with. Instead of controlling their emotions, they are swayed which leads to displaying extreme happiness, sadness, or even anger. But if you are going to be a player, you must have the emotional quotient to resist the negative display of behavior. Otherwise, it will destroy you and your relationship with the people around you.

It's true that you should just totally leave gambling if you don't have what it takes to show emotions that are too strong especially if it affects others aside from you. Winning or losing, you must keep your composure as a responsible gambler.
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Target your wins in a series of bets on: December 19, 2023, 10:58:19 AM
One way of approach is to focus on winning certain number of bets in a series of bets. For instance, you can target to win at least 4 bets in a series of 10 bets with the odds being at least 5 odds. This way, you can lose 6 times and win 4 times yet you still remain highly profitable.

You forgot to tell us what will you do if the conditions are not met after a certain session?

Surely, you will just try and try until you hit that target series, right? What if the bankroll were wrecked first before even reaching that? It means you still have a chance to fall on the psychological effect of gambling you were referring to.

But it's nice to see that you were able to create an approach that is effective and good for you in the long run.

I agree with this.

Considering the other outcomes before achieving the main goal should be done as well to avoid disappointment from unexpected turn of events. Because it is really possible that you will run out of fund before achieving that series of wins. Then if that would be the worse case scenario, then you should foresee it and make a back up game plan. It isn't easy to achieve winning results bet after bets. There will be times you won't get as much luck as you expected and you predicted so you should leave a room for error and other possibilities. It's good to establish your boundaries in this case so you won't go overboard your capabilities.
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has gambling ever whispered you with different strategic prediction measures? on: December 19, 2023, 10:12:31 AM
Good thing most times we fall in luck. Just like every other lucky person i have experience with taking risk while i rely on luck and it happens to be successful. I was playing an 8 ball pool with a pretty good player and we played intelligently untill we were left with the black ball. I was to play next, the ball was in a tricky position and if anything goes wrong i may loss the white ball. So i have to be careful because it was a huge stake.

I took the risk and had high hopes to get unlucky. So i played behind the cuisine aiming for the black ball and boom it all went well. That was a very exciting experience in gambling that i will never forget.

There will be really a time that a gambler will take a huge leap of faith to see where it will go. And I'm glad it turned out well for you. It isn't always rainbows and sunshines when it comes to risking. As a matter of fact, some people even had more bad times than actually having a good one because they made wrong decisions such as being impulsive and being a risk-taker more than the usual.

I guess we just really have different levels of being lucky. Some people can be lucky enough to win despite playing with eyes closed, while some are very unlucky that no matter how hard or what strategy they use, they just can't seem to get it and still fail.
168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 18, 2023, 11:31:03 AM
...
What have your experiences about this been? Is match fixing considered a common occurrence in leagues you place bets at?
Before the start of every league match, whether big or small, there's no way an ordinary bettor could tell you that a particular match is fixed, unless the match is over, that's when you will be hearing such rumors that a match is fixed, and nobody knows about it until the end of the match.

I think match-fixing is highly confidential to those who set it, and any of them who link it to the general public will be penalized with files. I remember the case of the newly signed Newcastle player who was filed, not to play for Newcastle for 2 years all because he bet on his team to lose against their opponent.

Most of the time fixed matches are really confidential. People who are involved in this kind of activity usually hide the fact that they have the game fixed because in most games, it's really prohibited to have a fixed matches because they say that it disrupts the ecosystem of the game. Additionally, it's a form of cheating. People who do fix games often talk beforehand who will be declared the winner and loser, then from there, they will just split the winning prize so that both of them will benefit. It's not really a new thing in the gambling industry, but it doesn't mean that it should be promoted either.
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 18, 2023, 10:38:09 AM

Just make yourself that responsible then you wont really be able to encounter any problems when it comes to gambling. It is really just that a matter of perception and belief towards it because if you wont really be having that kind of impression then it would really be that making you desperate. It isnt that bad nor a good idea on staying up long with gambling because there were people who do
stay up long with gambling session but they were able to control up themselves well and doesnt have any issues when it comes to gambling dealing. Disasters do really happen if someone
wont really be able to control up themselves well and they are really that fixing up their mindset on playing gambling just because they were aiming for money or they were aiming
for something which it cant be that possible.

Being responsible is really one of the key factors of not being addicted. If you are responsible and disciplined enough, then you have nothing or at least, have less to worry about. It's a matter of having the control to your urge and to your emotions despite whatever circumstance you have. The shorter time you allot for gambling, the better because you can direct that time to something else more beneficial that would add more value into your life, and at the same time, you will manage to escape the repercussions of being too exposed in gambling such as having to depend on it and eventually become addicted to it. You are doing yourself a favor whenever you have a mindset that considers the whole outcome.
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 16, 2023, 01:34:04 PM
Everything has a solution in life when it comes to money problems, you just have to not give up no matter how bad the situation represent itself to you there is always a solution.I understand that when you have a huge loss and you think everything is finished for you and you go for the route of taking your own life yet this nothing solves for the person who does that.He only harm himself to the very end and this is the worse anyone can do to himself, desperation is a really bad thing for anyone and the devil is there to whisper you to devastate you completely.I feel extremely sorry for this type of situation yet they have happened and will continue to happen,I don't judge the person doing it while I believe these type of persons are of a weak character.

Having and possessing a positive mindset, I agree with this. Tough times do not last, tough people do. So it's really a matter of mindset and attitude towards a situation. If you will let the situation control over your emotions and actions, justifying going reckless, or being impulsive, then you will definitely lose. Self-harm and killing yourself won't solve your problems. Those problems can be handled later on, you just need to be strong enough. I know this will be hard, but if you really want to survive, you gotta have a strong guts to keep moving forward. Money matters can be solved if you already have enough mental headspace to address the issue. So, you should start healing yourself then rehabilitate to avoid doing worse things.
171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: December 16, 2023, 12:28:54 PM
If casinos will make their terms and conditions more shorter and readable, a lot more gamblers will take the time to read through what the casino says. The problem with term and conditions is that asides the fact that they can be long and boring, the font used for the writing of theses terms is not always attractive to read, hence many gamblers do not waste time there, but will quickly accept the terms and conditions even without reading.

Some other gamblers also assume that the terms and conditions of all casinos are the same, so because they have read the T and C for this casino, they do not read the  conditions by the other casino.

I agree with this.

Most people do not really read the whole terms of service because typically, the TOS is too long to read which makes it boring and time consuming that's why some people become lazy and do not read it despite the consequences. There were times back then that I didn't bother to read before clicking the i agree button and that's definitely not something to be followed upon. If you decided not to read it, just be ready for the consequences. Because reading the conditions and policies of the casino is very important since it's highly possible that the deciding factor/s is almost everytime stated there.

If you want to avoid trouble and hassle in the long run, you should sacrifice some time reading the whole thing.
172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How many scams have you caught? on: December 16, 2023, 06:42:34 AM
I've never experienced being scammed related to cryptocurrency but I've seen a lot of different scams in social media who uses cryptocurrency as their bait.

Most famous are pyramiding scam, those companies wanna be that will make your certain deposit into a big amount of money in just few days. The other one is the phising email, links, or whatever kind it is, they have the most believable thumbnails that will make you think they are legit, but if you're wary enough, you'll notice in their links that they are a scam.
173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does technical analysis work in crypto trading? on: December 16, 2023, 05:31:36 AM
It always work, but not always a 100% guarantee that you're going to meet the profit you're expecting each trade.

Technical analysis only helps for you to analyze the market, on which price it is safe to enter and exit your trade. But since our knowledge and skills are also not accurate when judging the market movement, we can't avoid to lose our trade in the worst case scenario. So yeah, it will depends on how good you are and how will the market move in the timeframe you're going to use.
174  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can anyone tell me if this scenario is a scam. ASAP My wife has started this on: December 16, 2023, 04:05:23 AM
100% pyramiding scheme or a ponzi scam.

This kind of scam is very classic, they browse through social medias to search for their victim, worst case scenario is that scammers will encourage them to deposit their money because of the promised big return of their money in a short period of time. But I believe your wife is professional enough to not believe in that kind of scam. Also, be careful about their phising links through email, that's also one thing to watch out.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risk and reward of having Bitcoin on: December 15, 2023, 01:41:09 AM
The only think I can think of Bitcoin's risk is the price will not go into your way, so investing all in is not really a good idea.
Other than that, I can't think of anything more that will put your investment at risk. Unless you don't know what you're doing, like panic selling most of the time when a lot of FUD(s) happen, always FOMO, and when you stored your holdings in a random Bitcoin wallet you found in playstore or appstore.
176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All thanks to my family they contributed and bought bitcoin for me on: December 15, 2023, 12:41:28 AM
Congratulations OP for having a supportive family and finally having your Bitcoin.

My only advice is that, don't ever do panic selling, instead accumulate Bitcoin as much as you can then enjoy the profit whenever new all time high happens. You could also look for services that offer bitcoin in return for you to have more bitcoin aside from waiting for someone to help you. You could start ranking up your account here by posting threads that are worth the merit to easily rank up and join any signature campaign that will fit your rank.
177  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: December 14, 2023, 11:47:55 AM
If you meant was creating your own business to create opportunities to yourself as well as to others, then I agree.

It's better, however, creating your own business is easy but making it successful to bring fortune to you and to others is very hard. It's a trial and error process, and a lot of money is needed until you make it work, but it doesn't matter if you have the money and the plan you needed. It's an advantage if you have a degree related to that so you can manage it well, but self studying is not bad at all.

But those who do not have the privilege to start their own business due to lack of capital, they don't have any choice but to find a job, save money as much as possible since they love what they do.
178  Economy / Economics / Re: Which do you prefer on: December 14, 2023, 07:02:18 AM
I think it depends on a certain individual.

Some people prefer sure money, that's why they wanted to have a job, keep it as long as possible if they are contented in their monthly salary or don't wanna leave their job because they are afraid that if they do, they will not find another job. Other people prefer their own source of income which they control their own time and pacing, and their selves are their own bosses, which I prefer.

For me, you're going to be more productive when you manage your own time and decisions to earn money as much as possible, but stress cannot be avoided since it's part of our lives.
179  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you still use Banks ? on: December 14, 2023, 05:59:09 AM
Nope.

Saving in banks is a waste of opportunities to make profit with your money, and a lot of inside jobs always happens, like some random amount from your account will be deducted out of nowhere and you don't even know who accessed it without even asking for your confirmation and like security code. Worst thing is that they would not even compensate it, just a not sincere apologize because their system was hacked or something else just for an excuse.
180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: December 13, 2023, 02:53:41 PM

I have a friend who had a similar experience where everyone in his family was addicted to gambling, they were playing all day and didn't really care about the consequences of their actions and surely some of them got in trouble for the same reasons and now are in jails without getting any chance of parole. Because of gambling, they became greedy thieves and they are taking it a little bit too far by entering the houses of their victims and getting everything inside as much as possible just to fund their addictions, but drugs also have some contributions to their actions because they pair it with their addictions to gambling that eventually lead them to get in jail.

This is so unfortunate. But they just reap what they sow. Being addicted in gambling really forces a lot of people to do bad things just to sustain their habits. That's why it's important to know your boundaries in gambling otherwise, you might fall into the trap of doing anything you don't think you could just to continuously fund your gambling addiction.

Gamblers and other people who have hobbies and some sort of occasional vices can still enjoy the present without compromising and sacrificing the future that is waiting ahead of them. We are always free to choose what we want to do, but the consequences can't be picked by us. So gamble responsibly.
