1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this safe to say this about casino platforms on: January 31, 2023, 08:27:04 AM
I personally feel like its impossible for business to run directly by money from customers. At initiation phase all businesses including crypto casinos need huge amount of money, just for regulations for example. There will always be not expected cost as well. It can be very easy to bankrupt in a month where you don't make money. Its not limited with costs. You need taxes even if you don't operate in tax Haven country. Everything about gambling business sucks money.

Agree. There are other expenses that they have to take care of in the very beginning of the establishing a casino such as paying for the license, registering their permit to operate, and the fees for establishing the website itself by paying the developers for the user interface and layout design of the casino website in which the professional fee is a hefty amount as well.

There are also maintenance fee and other fees they have to pay for the security of their website. Campaigns and promotions are going to be paid too for players to be enticed in what they are to offer. You see, those initial stages of implementing a casino website is costly already. Hence, they have to have an amount that is more than enough to pay their obligations to their very own casino and to the potential players.
1162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds on: January 30, 2023, 02:35:06 PM
A brazilian medicine college student diverted almost 200.000$ from the graduation comission's funds, which belonged to her whole class, to place high bets through the national lottery.

She won sometimes on short run, but after all, faced a huge loss and went into almost 40.000$ debt. After scamming the lottery, the police department was triggered and the investigation has started.

She was investigated for money laundering and embezzlement. Later on, it was discovered the funds' origin.

Meanwhile, the class students became suspicious about the situation after the woman told on her class Whatsapp's group funds raised for graduation were lost after she invested it in a brokerage firm and was scammed by it, but no further documents and evidences could be provided, because everything was robbed!

Since then, no more updates about the case have been shared on the news. It happened about 2 weeks ago.

Medical student wins lottery 5 times after embezzling graduation funds

It's not really a good idea to spend the money isn't yours to begin with. Doing that is just plain disrespect and betrayal to those people who trusted you their money. It's an act of stealing which shouldn't be tolerated. It's just so saddening that the student didn't uphold her values and principles to serve as her moral compass. Acting upon our selfish urges will do us no good. It will just bring troubles and headache. It seems that the student lack discipline and display behaviors of a person addicted which is willing to do and risk anything despite its consequences.

I feel sorry to those student who were robbed if ever the girl won't pay back what she had stolen and used in gambling. It's no joke to earn money nowadays so for sure it'll be hard for them to accept what just happened. Hopefully, next time they will pick the right person to have the authority to handle their class funds.
1163  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Two Types Of Traders - My Personal Classification on: January 28, 2023, 01:45:43 PM
A blind trader would really be ending up on being that awakened trader.  Cheesy It all matters on the experience that they would encounter and those initial thoughts and believe on mind will really be swept
away and they would really be having that other approach on the time that they had gained up sufficient experience through different trading encounters.Sooner or later you would really be realizing off those things.
From blind to awaken which it would be the most common case to happen where it isnt surprising that you would really be more better when you do realize up things along the way.
If you are really that liking not to progress yourself then you would be sticking into your common methods until your do realize that it is pointless to continue on this way.

I agree.

Even an awaken trader can also make mistakes with his own technical analysis, because we all are doesn't know what's gonna happen in the next movement of the candle. Technical analysis only helps us to have an idea on what might happen next in the price chart, but that doesn't work sometimes so yeah, experience is the best teacher as always.

After all the failures, if you didn't realize something, it means you're not making yourself to accept failures to teach you what you'll do next, and that's why most of the newbie traders kept on losing a lot of money because they are not evolving to something better.
1164  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading or Investing in the stock market on: January 28, 2023, 11:34:40 AM
Which is the best?  Trading on bitcoin or investing in the stock market? The battle between short period earning and long-term earning. Share your thought about it.

Why not invest on Bitcoin so you could do it for long term as well? Bitcoin will defined give you much larger profits than stock markets in the long run. But I believe it depends on your perspective. I'm a cryptocurrency enthusiast that's why my take would be in Bitcoin, as always. Its high volatility is the main reason why it's good to buy for the long run, when it dips, that's when the opportunity to buy more for more profits. It's much worth the wait for me than investing my money on stock market.
1165  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your successes over the past 5 years on: January 28, 2023, 10:22:59 AM
In total, if I hadn't spent it all, I already earned like 3-5 BTC from just signature campaigns and altcoin signature campaign. I've spent too much money on buying branded clothes, eating expensive foods because I didn't have the opportunity to have those when I was just a kid. I also tried trading after altcoin signature campaigns always turned out to be shitcoins, spot trading and futures trading. I could say that I'm not fitted on futures so I only do spot trading now.

I have so many things as a remembrance of good old days where we all earn a lot from signature campaign. So I didn't regret anything at all. In my conclusion, Bitcoin always help me in my everyday life.
1166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin gaining this much fame despite it's restrictions? on: January 28, 2023, 05:46:19 AM
Bitcoin deserves all the fame after all since it is very revolutionary compare to fiat. Fiat is the traditional money these days, very prone to inflation unlike Bitcoin. Fiat doesn't have the volatility like Bitcoin, which means it will not give you any profit at all when you hodl it. Maybe you'll say you can hodl it in a bank to gain profits but that profit is so little while the bank makes so big out of their clients money.

Imagine bitcoin's first price was $0.0008 and compare to its last all time high, it's very far from where it is started and even the government noticed that and started to gain interest in Bitcoin, even other cryptocurrency.
1167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin limitation (self challenge) on: January 28, 2023, 02:42:58 AM
A good solar power setup is much better than buying a generator in the long run. Generator needs diesel or gasoline to run, which will cost you a lot, while solar power needs only bright lights from the sun. If you're going to use your solar power efficiently, it could help you to learn more about Bitcoin and earn Bitcoin. It's very hard in your current situation because of so many things you don't have. There's a saying that "where there's a will, there's a way", which is very true.
1168  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: January 27, 2023, 12:07:07 PM
The massive awareness to keep bitcoins for as long as possible promotes people to develop the attitude of saving, just like saving money. Do you agree with this that people who are very good at saving money become very good at keeping bitcoins when they finally start doing cryptocurrency? Or do you feel that there is no similarity between keeping bitcoins and keeping money?

Fiat and cryptocurrency is very different. Storing fiat doesn't have any risk like volatility, but I don't want to store fiat in the first place because it doesn't have volatility unlike Bitcoin. But for a newbie, maybe he will have a hard time at first when he invested in cryptocurrency because it requires basic knowledge to know what you'll do in certain situations. The only thing I want about Bitcoin is I am sure that in the long run, it'll give me high profits that I couldn't find in fiat.
1169  Economy / Economics / Re: In your country, today is money the real root of all evil? on: January 27, 2023, 09:31:56 AM
Money is the root of evil because of people that doesn't get the privilege that others have. Those people that's always been fooled by the politicians that promised them a helping hand on the time of their campaigns, but at the end they always ended up hanging on those broken promises. So those people doesn't have any choice but to commit crimes because they don't have any idea how to put food in their growling stomachs, especially if they have families.

There's a lot of things why money is considered to be the root of all evil, corrupted politicians, greedy business owners, and so on.
1170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this safe to say this about casino platforms on: January 26, 2023, 10:41:40 PM
Casinos shouldn't really operate without funds on hand because it would be very risky to just rely on the mere losses of the players and their deposits. Operating without enough reserve could put the business at risk and even lose your players trust on your site the moment they find out the financial status of the casino. The casino site must have enough bankroll to pay the players their winning and to maintain the website security as well.

This is why in putting up a business, one must really be prepared enough. Otherwise, many troubles and other inconveniences may arrive that could cost the reputation and the operation status of the business. Personally speaking, I wouldn't play and risk depositing if I know that there is no enough fund to sustain the running of the casino site and if I know that the owners have many debts at hand because they might end up vanishing into thin air.
1171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is risky, be conscious on: January 26, 2023, 12:37:17 PM
<...>
What would be your advice for those wanting to trade as a newbie?

Never rush things. You can't make yourself rich overnight, unless you're a fast learner with a very high IQ that will help you to analyze the market truly to have a very promising technical analysis. If you don't have a long patience, you will never survive in the trading world. Trading will require to risk two things, your money and your mental health, because that'll be put up into test on how much you can endure while you're learning how to trade sufficiently.

In the long run, your hard work will finally bear fruits and you'll be thankful to yourself because you did a great job.
1172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Market on the Rise, But Proceed with Caution! on: January 26, 2023, 12:00:21 PM
Buying bitcoin right now on the recent price ain't that bad for a long term hodl while waiting for the bull run, so you can proceed without doing any caution at all, in my opinion, as long as you'll only invest what you can afford to hodl for the long run. I'm not a fan of gold so all I can is Bitcoin is the best to have, high volatility, high profits that's for sure if you know what you're doing.

Also, don't store your Bitcoins in exchanges just in case you guys wanted to invest in Bitcoin while it's still far from its past all time high price.
1173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your take on this crypto gambling use case idea? on: January 25, 2023, 02:29:42 PM
Such idea of a particular token is what not just myself but other users would describe as another way of taking freedom of choice from the player leaving the gambler with no option but yours. How addictive can such a game be, many casinos have had games that looks addictive from the beginning but at the end it's bores the player as he then seek for higher and better type. And that's where the law of diminishing returns  sets in to gambling. Lolz.

I think they wouldn't really take the freedom of choice of the players, but instead add additional alternative crypto coin to choose from aside from the usual ones. Of course, this will only be possible if they won't remove other options of the players to use other coins based on their preferences. There are already existing casinos that established their own coin but still let their players pick what they want. After all, one can be bored from using and sticking to one. Some might want to explore too.

Variations can garner more potential players in a casino website. If the players want to use their usual, then be it. If they want to use a token, then they'll have the option to do so and won't have to find another casino to cater their needs.
1174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Common Online Gambling Fraud on: January 25, 2023, 01:26:08 PM
There's also the match fixing.

And the fraud goes with those people claiming that they know a match that's about to be fixed and from there, they're asking people to deposit and bet also with them.

Those that are gullible to believe them, not too curious about asking for any verifications are likely to fall for this type of fraud. Due to their greediness, they're forgetting to verify and ask certain questions and deposit quickly.

That's the problem that's coming back to them because of being greedy.

This is pretty much common in local betting and online games that are p2p and are p2e.

There are really instances that the match has already been decided even before it commenced. This is usually the dirty tactics of the organizers themselves to earn money easily. Meanwhile, there are also people like what you've said that are just mere pretenders they know that the game is rigged so they'll ask the players to bet to earn more money. Once people knew that the game is already fixed, they have a tendency to just bet on it despite not knowing whether if it's actually true or not.

People most especially the newbies and the old gens who aren't really techy and knowledgeable enough are the frequent victims of this kind of scheme. With this, we'll really determine that verification is of great importance to not be swayed by such frauds.
1175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cheat the Lottery Winner on: January 25, 2023, 12:51:44 PM
Cheating always ends with screwing things up. It will be a valuable lesson for everyone. I am surprised that family member decided to cheat on his own blood. How that woman now is going to look in the eyes of other family members. And I wonder how that Argueta is going to repay 200k she managed to spend. If she is going to do that at all.

The whole story is actually a story about trust. Arguela claimed prize and gave only 13k. How suspicious against family member you gonna be, that you go and search for actual prize size? Relationship among family members probably not perfect Cheesy

Well, there's really no perfect relationship. However, there are relationships that are functional and truthful despite their imperfections. Family is supposed to be our safe have, turns out, it isn't the case for everyone.

Blood is really no longer thicker than water. Sometimes, those people who matter to you and whom you love and care for will be the ones to stab you at the back and betray you like it's one of the easiest things to do. It's very disappointing because you can hardly trust someone nowadays that won't take advantage of either your weakness, innocence, and kindness.

In this story, greed took over the cousin. I believe everyone of us is good until we choose do the opposite of following our moral compass. So basically, this is a personal choice and is not just a mistake. It's saddening that she let her selfishness control her. The consequences that await here are awful, not just on the legal matter side, but also the damage she's done to their family.
1176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This Smells Like Hypocrisy on: January 25, 2023, 12:10:53 PM
I've read that sports betting, horse-racing and other three events tied to entertainment are now allowed in Japan. It was stated that these events are usually held by the government which in this case, it seems to me that they are after the regulation and the welfare of their citizens together perhaps with interest in mind to collect taxes. Japan is one of those countries in which you will really see how discipline they are. Maybe this is the reason why their government don't permit other types of gambling because they deem it necessary to prevent their constituents losing their values and principles in getting addicted.

Those gamblers who want an outdoor fun would definitely be on disadvantage because they can't enjoy casino games and the likes. Good thing is that they can have an alternative which is gambling online just to satisfy their urge to gamble if they really want to. However, the ambiance and experience wouldn't be in par in gambling in actual casino. But I think it's still much better than being unable to do nothing at all.
1177  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you appreciate more Desktop or Phone on: January 25, 2023, 11:34:11 AM
Desktop too, no questions.
Easy access to everything, if you want to open something in a new tab you just click it unlike on a smartphone you have to hold it and pick the option.
Also when it comes to reading, I am having a hard time with small letters although my vision is still as clear as when I was young. Zooming it in is a hassle then there's the chance of making a mistake if you are betting.
I've tried Stake.com on my phone before, but I didn't like it. I'd just use it only if I don't have access with my desktop but that had not happened yet as I try to put my bets as early as possible if the line is available.
To open a new tab on phone is not a problem for me.

I do not zoom in on phone while using most gambling sites, many gambling site do not even allow people to zoom in on mobile phone, the betting site user interface adapt and compatible with the phone.

Using a 1080p phone with a very high processor and good refresh rate would be good. If you have 5G data connection or at least 4G would be good for gambling on mobile phones.

Nice points, but  it's also advisible to use a high specified mobile device for gambling in other to enjoy the speed and storage space needed, there has been many mobile device challenges that could cause obstruction to gambling whenever we are unto it, i will also make this suggestion to always place the mobile network connectivity on 4G lite mode only which can serve better for the purpose of browsing even though calls may not be able to come in while gambling to avoid distraction and disturbances while gambling.

This is a nice input! While we're talking about accessibility, we should also talk about the things that could make the lives of the outgoing gamblers more convenient and hassle-free. Because accessibility would be useless if the things you are using can't really support a proper connection and stability through the gambling sites or applications.

If we are referring to the things mostly used by everyone in this world, not only gamblers, smartphone would be one of the top rank. If you really want to gamble hassle and trouble-free, you should definitely invest in your device, most especially if you are using it on a daily basis. Because after all, you wouldn't want to have your device lagging ang hanging up on you while you make and place bets. Personally, I find it irritating whenever my phone lags. It's such a nuisance. With gamblers habit of betting, you really need to have an updated software and other specifications in match for smooth playing. Connectivity plays a vital role too because even if you have the best phone in the world, but if your connectivity sucks, you still won't be able to enjoy playing.
1178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too accessible of online casino grows addiction faster? on: January 24, 2023, 03:21:52 PM
I have a discussion with a close relative about online gambling and he said something that about how he hate gambling online because it's too addictive, he claimed real life casinos are better and less addictive because he will have to drive down to Las Vegas to gamble or drive down to a local casino and this still takes some physical effort and it discourages many people from frequenting gambling.

He said with online gambling it's available on through mobile phones and you can play at any time, this means no shortage of gambling around the clock and no shortage of losing money as well, you can easily pull out your phone and gamble with any free time, a bit compulsive and too accessible.

What do you think about this claim? Is he right or wrong?

Accessibility can really play a part on a person's addiction, aside from genetics and mental health problem. Those people who struggle with self-discipline and restraint will really have a hard time if they will remain in an environment where there are much triggers that can fuel up their thirst to gamble. Hence, they must remove themselves from that place whether it may be literal or in metaphor.

People with addiction should seek the help of the professionals to effectively combat it with proper guidance. Slowly removing gambling from their system can help them to avoid relapse. While it is hard to avoid gambling online since it is accessible anytime and anywhere, there are various ways to avoid going back to gambling again while you are healing such as self-exclusion. Opting to be self-excluded can make a significant difference. They can opt out from receiving emails, promotions and notifications to avoid being tempted. Although it's still a matter of how you will handle yourself because the casino can't really make a way if you decide to make another account.
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 24, 2023, 12:10:07 PM
There is this thing about shopping and airlines that when you check and forget, they send you bonus or discount for your possible shopping/trip. Same holds true for casinos, if you just register and leave they will send you some bonus to get you started playing.

This is true in some casinos. Even in other platforms and applications, it happen, which is why some are making this strategy to generate bonus from whichever they signed up to. Other people here in our country called it "farming" because you just make an account that somehow equates to planting a seed, leave it over a certain period of time, and wait for it to have bonus that equates to bearing a fruit. Many people do this here in specific applications.

Although just don't let your hopes up that high because while it works to some, it doesn't guarantee that it will work on you too. After all, not every casino will be generous enough to give a bonus to inactive players. Keep your expectations low because not every single time, you'll get rewarded from doing this. It's not a great way to enjoy gambling because you have to keep waiting before you can enjoy, without really a guarantee, but you could use some of the free bonus to indulge if ever they will really give any.
1180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice on choosing a crypto casino on: January 24, 2023, 11:33:55 AM
Greetings, esteemed community. Could you help me advise? I've seen a lot of topics on the forum about crypto or bitcoin casinos, but I need clarification on their point. As I understand the crypto casino involves paying in different cryptocurrencies, and the bitcoin casino involves only bitcoins. How to choose a casino, is there a criterion for this, or do you just go to any casino and play? It's a rash move without preparation. Also interested in a payment system, which is recommended to play in such casinos? Or just a suitable crypto wallet? I apologize for my silly questions, but I want to understand everything once and for all.

Searching and asking for suggestion on which casino is reputable and offer the best quality of service with variety of games is usually what thoroughly thinker newbies do before actually playing in a casino. It's a good thing that you asked here first before playing on whatever casino that pops on your mind or referred by a friend. This is because, sometimes the things you know aren't enough to be the reason to just delve into playing already. Sometimes, you need new perspective and you have to get other's opinion and their personal experience to the casino itself may it be physical or online to decide which will be suitable for you.

Of course, your personal preferences would matter too so you should still go with what you think you will enjoy the services provided that the casino is reliable. Common mode of depositing is most casinos are though cards such as debit or credit. Most online casinos now accept different cryptocurrency as well. Some have their own token which is optional to use and so on.
