1621  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / [brainfart] VR as Blockchain visualization tool on: October 04, 2014, 08:06:43 AM
Anyone ever consider writing an app to visualize blockchain connections in VR.

It can see it being a spectacular forensic tool for viewing linked addresses and transactions.

In an abstract way, this game inspired the idea;

Cgminer 3.12.0 has been uploaded, https://github.com/bitmaintech/cgminer. The latest version will be updated in 2 weeks.
Thank you very much !
1623  Economy / Services / ASICMiner BE100 Cube to BE200 Cube Update Boards ? on: August 17, 2014, 04:55:26 PM
Anyone know of any plans to manufacture something like this ? Have a few cubes kicking around that I would rather not toss in the trash. Would be nice to re-use the form-factor with updated chips.

I have so many mental disorders that this man VOD exploited...
No trolling, maybe this whole internet thing isn't appropriate/healthy for you, based on what we've read in this thread so far Sad
1625  Other / Meta / Re: What is the forum's policy on blatant software license abuse? on: August 16, 2014, 11:36:57 PM
If it is deemed they are violating the forum policy I would be able to request they release their source code or threaten to have their threads removed.
I think this is a super idea - If you don't comply with cgminer GPL terms, don't expect to use these forums as a platform for selling your wares.
1626  Other / Meta / Re: What is the forum's policy on blatant software license abuse? on: August 16, 2014, 04:13:17 PM
I think it'd be great to track this sort of stuff, and having a thread calling out known abusers. Would give us a clear list of vendors to boycott.
I think many users would be very surprised and disappointed by possibly some of their more favourite vendors in such a list since they tend to run hand in hand with production in China and being at the best price point for hardware.
Would you mind listing the others that you are aware of ? Aren't all the A1's abusing your license ? Does Bitmain publish their changes ?
1627  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} WHAT THE!! ButterflyLads WONT deliver the Monarch Till...ONLY GOD KNOWs?:( on: August 16, 2014, 12:02:16 PM
My reply there too:

I am personally glad that I took the refund (and ordered my S3's in june with 2 weeks delivery). You can order 2 S3's delivering over 900GH for $570,- Why would you want to pay $1.379 for 700GH?!? And they look better too...
Account ban and post deletion at forums.butterflylabs.com in 3... 2...

I suspect you've triggered their reality-aversion mechanism. It's evidently asleep at the moment.

what the fuck is with you? ... I knew you were incapable of not lying ... Go fuck with your barn wood ... stop posting blatantly false information (What specifically is blatantly false ? We're going to need details and clarification if he's calling you a liar like that, Bruno -C) ... Why can you not just keep your mouth shut on occasion? ...
I'm not trying to be a dick about it...
but do you have a mental illness ...
Did your father or mother not give you enough attention ...  Are you just a drama queen at heart ... but the sad part about it is, I'm sure you'll lie about that as well
Nope. Not trying to be a dick.

You are a habitual liar ... You post fake information, lies and bullshit constantly ... You did not strike a nerve at all (... then why is he evidently so bent-out-of-shape ? -C) ... posting my personal information (But it's ok when you do it, right Josh ? -C) ... no matter how I try to accommodate your disabilities ...  You are a sad, pathetic human being ... I don't want to know the answer you'd give me... it would be either self delusional or false anyway
Nope. Definitely not trying to be a dick.

Comedy. Gold.

PS: Nice to see you back in fine form, Bruno. Glad your time with the Super Adventure Club didn't scramble your brains.
1630  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces monarch shipping on: August 16, 2014, 03:21:43 AM
As a reward for customers' patience and loyalty, we are adjusting the price of the 700 GH/s boards to $1,379 (ONLY $1.97/GH)
Explain to me how paying over twice the going rate for $/GHs right now is a reward for "patience and loyalty".

Am I missing something ?

Our trust rating was built over the last 10 days because we started selling on this forum and some other people don't like that.
I can't imagine why...

Buy from AMT.  Had some hiccups in the beginning but we're rolling now with a new factory in Shenzhen. We're a Philadelphia based company btw. Here is reliable 4U rack mount AMT 1.25TH miner, which does have 40 A1 chips. We do sell chips for Innosilicon, so you can put the pieces together. This miner Operates below 1w/ghs and costs only $1350. Its not a 5TH but you we are somewhat notorious on this forum, and we're a known company that several people do not trust but we are regaining and building the communities trust everyday. Overnight shipping is $120 to the US.
I would like to draw our readers attention to your Trust rating.
1634  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 15, 2014, 05:03:18 AM
/etc/config/asic-freq appears to be completely irrelevant in this latest firmware Sad

Appears to have moved to the last line in /etc/config/cgminer

option freq '18:218.75:1106'

EDIT: 225 is a bust for me on this B5 unit. Hashes @ ~350-400GHs. 218.75 is the magic number it seems for stability @ ~441GHs.

I've had horrible luck with the S3's Sad The S1's I had, the the current S2's I'm running were/are rock solid comparatively. Across a dozen S3's, nearly 40% of them are underperforming requiring underclocking, and Bitmain has not been responsive on a compensation/resolution for underperforming units Sad

Fuck Sad

EDIT2: Reverted to prior firmware. Something doesn't seem right with this latest one. Performance appears to suffer based on the short testing I have done so far on a B5 unit.
1635  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 15, 2014, 02:53:19 AM
I just flashed a B5 to the newest firmware, defaulted to 237 instead of 218.75, and at 237 I was getting really bad hash-rate at ~100GHs Sad Had to set it to the default 218.75 to get her back at ~440GHs.

Was sad to see 225 was not listed in the frequency drop-down.
1636  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 14, 2014, 07:09:06 AM
B1 was obviously underpriced because it was announced around the time when the big 25% difficulty jump happened and nobody could have predicted the subsequent sub-10% difficulty increases.
Batch 1 was also fraught with initial production issues and stability, so the pricing actually isn't as good considering many get less than a stable 440GH/s, and B1 was initially advertised as being closer to ~480GHs.

Having said that, it's great to see that Bitmain has improved things with the newer batches. Would love to have some sort of trade-in program where I could return my wonky B1 S3's for the more recent ones.
1637  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 13, 2014, 10:54:25 PM
 Fuck.

And this when they informed me via email that it would be 440GHs through the life of the product...

The ones I have now are barely stable at 218.75.

 *grumbles*

WTF lol...

The Eighth Batch of AntMiner S3+

Only Available at http://www.bitmaintech.com

Bitmain now announce the S3+, which is a revised version of S3 running stably at 453GH/s (frequency=225 MHz), while consumes 355 Watt power at the wall. Most of miners will be able to run up to 500GH/s but not guaranteed.

I'm dirty blonde if you want to call it that....
As a matter of practical formality, the 4Chan Protocol dictates that you produce a photo of yourself, with a shoe on your head, with todays time and date and your forum name written on a piece of paper.

For extra bonus difficulty, it is not unreasonable to ask for you to hold a tooth-brush in your left hand.

Related: I have 5 S3's collecting dust because the data center deal fell through on a commercial insurance-related issue, and I have no more space left in my house as I'm drawing ~8kW for mining already. *grumbles* Guess I'll have to decommission either some A1's or BitFury gear. Haven't decided yet. *grumbles* /r/firstworldproblems

I refuse to be sucked into the black hole that is the vortex of doom that permeates you guysz
Some of us learned to avoid that pre-order vortex of doom you speak of.

From where I'm sittin', I'd say it looks like you're the one that's getting sucked into the black hole here.
