Anyway, let's go back to the current big three of GSW. Looks like we won't be seeing Draymond Green wearing the same jersey because the team won't give him a max contract even if Curry is vocal that he needed Green as well as Thompson to get the team a new title next season. Rumors have it that the Clippers are looking forward to having Green if the said player won't be given the contract.

He won't be going to Clippers if the warriors don't give him max contract. It is rampant in social media that he wanted to team up with lebron. I do not know if it is legit but Green is rumored to have went in a vacation with lebron in Toronto. He also said if they don't give him the max he will be winning it with lebron. I have not confirmed this though since i just saw this in social media. But, if he really go to Lakers with Lebron, does he fit? Green cannot play without the ball since he is a facilitator but in Lakers, lebron have the ball most of the time. The lakers need a scorer which Green is not. He will just be liability in offense just like westbrook.

They are quite lucky though because Jimmy Butler is still staying for the team even though he needed to carry the team most of the time, I guess Butler sees the current roster with a huge possibility to help him get another title for the team and his first ring. I can say that the team has a chance if they remain healthy throughout the whole season because in the regular games, they are so lethal.

It speaks a lot about the organization if your star player still wants to stay even though he is carrying tons of load. Miami is a good organization, not just the roster. Remember Jimmy left Philadelphia even though he could have won a ring there with Embiid. They had a good run and almost won the conference and possibly a ring if Kawhi had not shot a lucky shot.  But he left after that because he thinks the organization sucks. And he said a lot about it in an interview after he left.

This is just an exhibition match and not official matches so there’s nothing if they do this kind of shit because this is just for an entertainment purposes. It’s up to the viewers if they like it or not because they are the one who pays for the ticket. I’m not expecting much when watching this kind of fight which makes me not affected on the result. Watch official matches if you want to see real action and don’t expect good quality of fight on an exhibition match. This is just like a sparring for the professional to beat amateurs televised.
Yeah, he said he is okay for the Paul brothers but what is their difference from this one? I guess nothing. Maybe he didn't like the participants involved, that's why he didn't get entertained or maybe he was expecting something more intense in the fights because the bodies of the participants are so big like hulk but he only got disappointed on what he sees.

We don't know if OP is one of those who pays for the ticket, that is why he has the right to complain but still, they can't do much anything about it because it's already over. The only thing that they can do is to avoid these types of matches next time and only watch those real fights instead.

It was not even a fight. It seems like the Iranian Hulk came expecting there is no punch landing on his body. He was turning away from his opponent. This is what happens when you match YouTubers on the ring, don't expect anything of real value. They are there just for the money. At least with the Paul brothers, they came to the ring prepared and ready to rumble.

Many people obey their girl friends more than anyone else.

What if their girl friend insists you to stop gambling  Huh Will you Stop  Tongue

If it is my wife, then we would talk about it first before we make a decision on whether I should totally stop or just limit it. Every decision I make should involve her because we are already bound together for life. It will help the relationship if we are in sync.

But if it is just a girlfriend, I do not think I have to do everything she has to say. I would not stop gambling but I can consider limiting it for her. If she truly knows me, she knows that I am not an addict and have total control over my gambling habits. It is just a form of entertainment and she should understand that.

Another thing. I was surprised to see a new name representing North America. Did Quincy Crew disband or did they just rename it into Soniqs since all players are the same? I already forgot Valve's ruling on players leaving for another team. There are a lot of stand-ins in this last major and I can't wait to see how it works.

I read in this article that they have been signed by Soniq Esports and they will represent them in the upcoming Arlington Major.

Curry is a great player I also believe but I wonder how Curry is right now if the Warriors' coach is different and not Kerr. Will they still win titles? Will Curry be the same Curry that we are seeing right now. Will Curry be a unanimous MVP? Will he win 4 titles with the Warriors.

It will be a very different story. A different coach means different offensive and defensive plays. Remember when Curry still runs the offense? He had the ball too much and the defense can easily trap him. Now he moves a lot without the ball and that gave Curry more offensive options. Small change but great effect on the offensive power of the team.

The same story with Jordan. In his early years, he had the ball too much too and the team relies heavily on him. Only when Phil Jackson came in with his triangle offense that some load was offloaded from him and the rest is history. Same team, different coach, different results.

We will never know what could happen to the warriors and Curry if Steve Kerr is not the coach.

I thought that it would be a close game until the game as I think they are evenly matched but i was wrong, Magnolia hasn't figured a way yet to stop Mikey Williams. I'm sure there will be adjustments but I'm not sure that it would be enough for the Hotshots to win the second game.

Is Mikey Williams really too hard to handle for the Hotshots? Normally he takes over in the 2nd half but in this game, he unleashes early on. I wonder what adjustment the Hotshot will do in the next game. It is too early to tell who's winning this series because we all know Magnolia can adjust in this type of situation. Let's see in game 2 if they can recover.

Just for fun guys! I should have posted this early but was too busy for a few days now.

Who will win the All-Filipino Conference Champion this year?

Bet: Php 5,000 max bet/team | Winner Take All

Talk N Text - harizen - Php 5,000
Magnolia -
San Miguel Beermen -
Meralco Bolts -

I saw this late. I should have placed a thousand on the Beermen if others are willing to fill it. But I guess the betting is already close.
1707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 02, 2022, 06:25:21 PM
Its not only with Kerr but the whole coaching staff or shall we say the whole organization because they really help the careers of each warriors player goes to their team. Plus their scouts which really can spot a high quality player coming off from unexpected picks. But for talking about being a coach of the year well its no doubt that Kerr totally deserve this since he won multiple championships on this team.

You are right, Steve Kerr himself acknowledged Bob Myers for building a great team for the warriors. Without him, Kerr could not have an easier job coaching them to a championship. Everyone involved, the scouts, assistant coaches, and trainers, should be acknowledged because all of them helped in achieving what they have achieved.

Quote
Bam Adebayo shot 60.3% in the paint and had an effective field goal percentage of just 34.1% on shots from outside the paint. That was the fourth biggest differential among 258 players with at least 100 field goal attempts both in and outside the paint.
This is what I want to see. Bam keeps on improving on his shots in and out of the paint. A chance they will be on top again when all are healthy.
I just wish they won't make any big trades as their chemistry as a team is just Heat-ing up.

If they retain the team in the next 3 years, the Miami Heat will have a higher chance of winning the championship again. Of course if they keep the whole team healthy.
Bam will for sure keep improving along with Tyler Herro. Duncan Robinson needs to be consistent offensively and the rest of the team needs to be healthy.
One thing I would like to see from the Heat is when they try to acquire a legit big man.
They needed Bam and the others to improve. Jimmy Butler needs all the help that he can get to lessen the load he is carrying. Healthwise, they are quite a young team so they can stay healthy. Hopefully they won't get major injuries this season. I would like to see Butler get a ring as well.

For the SEA teams, Fnatic should be one of the SEA best hope but with this visa issue I am rooting for Talon to bring something good from SEA.

that would be hard to do when you are playing with 3 stand-ins. But it is good that they still choose to play even with most of their teammates having visa issues. Unlike Extreme gaming which already withdrawn from the tournament and choose to focus on TI 11 qualifications.

This is for sure because LGD is a very consistent Chinese team. I have no doubt that OG and Team Liquid will stand out on the upcoming majors but I’m interested to see other dark horse team performance like Outsiders and Team Secret. They are the team that I want to place bet especially when their opponents are strong team like LGD and Team Spirit because they have the skills to give an upset match to whoever opponents that they will fight.

Betting +1.5 on teams like Outsiders will surely give huge profit on this upcoming major.  Wink

Team Secret has been very solid in Riyadh Masters, so I am expecting them to play at the same level in Arlington Major. I am not sure if they are playing with IceIceIce now in the major, even so, they are a force to reckon with.

I think the Organizer or even Valve himself should help or even guarantee the Visa grant to every team, or they shouldn't have any event in the USA.

They should help but still, it is not in their hands if the US does not want to grant visas to certain players.
1709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Early Adopters rich? on: August 01, 2022, 10:42:49 PM
I can't say that I am an early adopter but I was around when bitcoin was still at $200. I sold out in 2017. Made so many bad decisions trading but still able to survive. I can't say I am rich but I am better financially now that I am in crypto than before.

I know some of my peers are also better off now because of their bitcoins. They are not castle owning rich but at least financially free. And they don't own tons of bitcoin. I believe the real believer and diamond hand holders at least made a fortune in the last bull run. But I doubt they will come out here and proclaim how much they made or if they own a castle now.

The WBC has ordered that a fight be made between Zepeda vs Prograis for the vacant WBC 140 lbs belt. Josh Taylor, the unified champion, decided to vacant that belt.

I initially thought that it will be Ramirez vs Zepeda for the title. But I think the winner of this fight will face Ramirez next. This is good fight, both Zepeda and Prograis are known brawlers so this is a sure fire war.
It was initially Ramirez vs Zepeda but Ramirez is not available because he will be married in October. It could have been a good rematch between the two since they had a close fight in 2019.

Between Zepeda and Prograis, I favor Zepeda here. He is in a roll with 5 win-streak. This can be a good match.
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange will go out of business of every Bitcoin is hold in private wallet on: August 01, 2022, 09:10:50 PM
Bitcoin is already winning the war against the centralization of Bitcoin services, and a lot of Bitcoin holders are beginning to realize the safety of their Bitcoin when it is off the exchange and kept in a private wallet. You only send real Bitcoin when you do it on a p2p level and you don't own Bitcoin when your coins are stored on an exchange all you have is just promises and not Bitcoin if your Bitcoin is on the third party exchange.
It may be true that bitcoin holders are wising up on where to store their bitcoins. They may now realize that in exchanges, they do not truly own their bitcoins because they do not have private keys. But, this will not throw the exchanges out of business. Exchanges cater to a service that is vital to the adaptation of bitcoin. It is a place where traders make trades and make money. As long as exchanges provide that service, they will stay for a very long time.

It is also the easiest way to onboard newbies in crypto. They can easily convert their money into crypto, and learn how to trade and explore new coins on centralized exchanges. It is the ease of use that will keep the exchanges alive.
1712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will the next Bull run look like? on: August 01, 2022, 06:11:59 PM
Every bull run was pushed by emerging use cases at the time. In 2017, we saw the rampaging of ICO. It fuels the bull run at the time. Recently, NFT was the biggest thing that made the latest bull run possible. A lot of NFT games were developed and some have become very successful. Millions of it were sold and made crypto very popular again.

Be very mindful of upcoming new technologies related to crypto and take some piece of the action with it. You will never know what new technology will push the next bull run. Better be in it ahead rather than chasing it when it already set off.

Also, be aware of the halving because it has a positive effect on the price of bitcoin. It can also be a catalyst for a bull run.
1713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diversified are you with your investment, crypto aside? on: August 01, 2022, 03:11:48 PM
I'm a young professional, starting working a year ago, and so far I've been placing 20% of my monthly salary into crypto (only crypto).

I understand that it's risky, and would like to save in other ways too.

That is already a good start. Not all young professionals can invest 20% of their salary. Most of them spend them all on vices and unnecessary expenses.

When you have enough profit from your bitcoin, maybe you can explore investing in land or buying houses and then rent them out. You will never lose investing in land because it never depreciates. Its value keeps on appreciating as time goes by.

[...] Look at Stephen Curry, if he is not good at 3-point shooting, he will not become a great player, [...]

It seems you forget that Steph has great talents aside from shooting. He has great handles, can drive to the basket, and is a great facilitator. True that his shooting range is what makes him unique but that is not the only reason why he is successful. It is the combination of all his skills including his basketball IQ, handles, and great shooting range.

[...]and also now, big men are already shooting 3's, we have good 3-point shooters like Jokic which is a good example.
Just like with other games, it will keep on evolving. It is the beauty of it. Just as much as I enjoy watching this evolution I still enjoy games that have great perimeter plays, like how Kawhi does it.
1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rise of Streamers in Online Gambling on: August 01, 2022, 05:42:45 AM
[...]
Actually, not that they will hurt much if they lose. It is part of the investment they take so they need to spend money to build up their respective channels for the purpose of getting enough subscribers and to be eligible to get noticed by the gambling sites.

Besides, streaming is free and the only effort these streamers will do is to spend money on their content.

It does hurt somehow since they are spending money for their content.  Streaming is free, yes but the money isn't.   [...]

The money they spent are their capital in which they can gain back from sponsorship and ads. It is an investment. It will only hurt if they are too bad as a streamer they can't get monetized or a sponsor.

As far as we know, unless the streamer is lucky enough to easily get attention and subscriber, it will take time to build up followers and subscribers to the channel.  Among the many, only a few are able to meet their target audience in a span of six months or a year.

Most streamers right now are in a group that helps them get audiences, likes and subscribers. It is great support to easily get the target needed to get monetized . Unless you are doing it alone, it is quite easy to get the audiences you needed.
1716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 31, 2022, 11:53:10 PM
So what would happen, is Curry trying to threaten the organization that there could be a conflict if they will not give Draymond's demand? I think the organization knows what they are doing, though in a team we have some superstars who are just working for the team, they are paid by the management and they have to respect the decision of the management.

The conflict between players is common, but the conflict between players and management, that's very rare.
Yes, that's the case. It's like Curry won't be as as effective as he would be without Draymond Green.
We all doubt that but that's like a protection for players he don't want to leave.
Although, I want to urge this to happen. Let Draymond go and see where they will be at. It's not that I want the to be broken but this kind of selfishness should be penalized.
He things he is a player that Warriors won't be effective without him.
Let him go and see if that's really the way it is. Why? Because I highly doubt he cannot be replaced.

Or do something like the Suns did to Ayton. Let him out in the market and make a counter offer. At least you will know how much other teams think his value will be and you will save some money also if other teams did not give him max. Let him learn from the market how much is he really worth.

Imagine you only played 13 seasons but you win 11 rings, that's really an untouchable record in the NBA and I doubt even in the next century to come would even beat that.
No one will ever beat that record. The competition now is very high that it is very hard to even get a championship let alone 11 rings.

Rest in peace Bill Russell.
1717  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Day Trading be profitable in Crypto ? on: July 31, 2022, 11:41:50 PM
1 ILV is $119 on my CEX... but the sell price is $116 and the buy price is $123

Doing a simple trade using USDC to buy one ILV token would cost me $10.40 in ETH Fees on EXODUS. If I was doing it from my CEX, it would probably be cheaper, but I'd end up paying just as much ( sometimes way more ) if I want to take my new ILV token and deposit it in a hardware wallet. So either way, even if I buy ILV and it makes me a 15% gain in less than 24 hours, I barely break even !
So how do I make a profit ? Do I need to buy 30 ILV to maximize my gains ? Or is there any other way ?

At least choose a coin that have smaller spread and higher volume so your 15% gain can cover the spread and net good enough profit. If you want to day trade, learn how to do it properly. I believe it is profitable but it takes time to get a good grasp of it. And even then, you can still experience losses from time to time.

[...]
In this cryptocurrency market, day trading at the end of the day is a big loss and very stressful, I particularly do not recommend that people day trade. sometimes a person can spend hours on the computer and only make a small profit but when a week goes by, the person looks back and sees that if he had bought and insured more days he would have 10X the profit he had doing day trading

It is not a loss of you are making profit from it. You can only call it a loss when you lose money not when you gain. However small your gains are, gains are gains. And day traders does not just make one trade a day. They make multiple trades and take advantage of how volatile crypto is. Those small gains can sum up to big gains if you do it constantly.

It is overtime for Magnolia and NLEX. It is very exciting and close match.

Magnolia made a magnificent stop against the NLEX and steal the ball with 2+ seconds left but was not able to make something out of it though. So we are now in overtime.

Have to wait a few more minutes for Ginebra vs Meralco do-or-die game.

Its not do or die when the result is fixed like most of the games in this league.

Lots of humors about this fixed games but nothing has been proven yet so i still believed that PBA is not involved in game fixing unless someone would surface and gives hard evidence as this will topple down the oldest basketball league in Asia.

What an exciting/intense game between Ginebra and Meralco, if this is also fixed then Ginebra would be the winner but that is not the case as Meralco advanced into the semis with a nail-biting 2-point lead.

So, interesting semis we have here as it will be against the top two business group. SMC and MVP teams, who will prevail?

In the first half, I thought Ginebra is already done because they are down by 20+ points. I almost closed the TV because it is painful to watch. But they rallied in the third using their tough defense to make a comeback. That is when things get exciting.

Thompson fouling out in the crucial moment of the game hurt Ginebra. They lost the game, I lost my bet but still I am satisfied with how the game played out. It was exciting to watch.

1719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Retired Uncle's Gratuity Invested on Bitcoin on: July 31, 2022, 01:59:24 PM
I asked him to invest 30% of his gratuity fund into agricultural farming business since we are in the raining season, planting of arable cash crops like vegetables could be a good business with high demands,  another 30% into starting a roadside Snack Bar, while the last advise was to make an investment with the 40% left in Bitcoin, then i begin to discuss with him about bitcoin and how he can invest in it instead of having his gratuity with bank, i took time to explain to him many reasons why he needs to invest in bitcoin, i went through some search on the forum for related topics about bitcoin, and i clarified him the differences bitcoin has from other cryptocurrencies.

It's up to you if you think it's good to share financial advice with family members, but no matter how much we believe in Bitcoin, I would still be careful about advising someone to invest 40% of their money in something as volatile as Bitcoin. The way you wrote it, it seems as if there is an obligation for people to invest in Bitcoin, and we all know very well that this is not the case, and people should first understand what it is about, and only then invest in something.

I agree with this. I can introduce and teach my family members about bitcoin. Maybe give them the positive and negative point of owning bitcoin. I will not give them financial advises though. We do not know how people will react to losses so giving them financial advise on something that we know is very volatile can backfire to us. It may ruin the relationship with them if they cannot take the losses when bitcoin price goes down.

If they understand bitcoin and they already know how to protect their assets, then they can choose on their own to invest or not. In understand, I mean the bitcoin as the technology not the financial asset that others are pushing. The way I see it, your uncle is already old and most old people are not tech savvy and sometimes they can be easily scammed. So it is vital that he understand and know by heart how to properly store and protect his bitcoins. I hope you discussed it thoroughly to him the utmost important of security here since he is the only one who can protect it.

Do you think Ceb will play again for OG on this majors?

Your question is already answered. Ceb is once again will go to Arlington Majors with the boys after Misha failed to secure his visa. I dunno how you expect this to happened but I’m surprised OG will be reckless to secured Msha visa for this this kind of tournament, Not once but twice.

I know Ceb will be better to replace Misha but I’m concern if this line-up will work again while chinese team is already in the table.

https://afkgaming.com/dota2/news/ceb-returns-to-og-for-the-pgl-arlington-major-2022

Lol. I’m just trolling when I post such question in the thread above. I never thought that Misha will encounter same issue to a same major tournament. Is it just a coincidence or they are doing it on purpose just to give Ceb play time.  Cheesy

Ceb mindset is what makes OG strong in tournament like this, We witness already how good Ceb when they are under pressure or in the brink of losing. I think he is very good on commanding this young talents.

I remember that in Stockholm Majors, OG has claimed victory this 2022 but only 3rd on the Riyadh Masters. So I'm betting that OG would still be in the top 3 of this tournament.

I think Ceb will still play in this tournament. Is there any news about it, though?
Yes he will play, check above post link for the news.

I wonder if this is Ceb's response to TorontoTokyo when interviewed in Riyadh. Toronto said he wanted OG to win in the semis because he believe OG is weaker and LGD is harder to beat.

Ceb is back to show Toronto that OG is strong.

Far fetched but you know how attached is Ceb to OG. He wanted to defend them as much as possible.
