1721  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I think it's wrong on: January 08, 2023, 07:26:05 AM
Bitcoin is cyclical, its price movements and other whatnots happen in cycles, thus the past history is always a good focal point to predict the present and future, it doesn't mean that things will happen exactly the same way, but more often than not history somewhat always repeats itself one way or another.
Fast forward to 2023, someone I knew is expecting some kind of a new pandemic to put pressure on the world once again, he believed that the last pandemic was intentional, what do you think?
It is of no use discussing the propaganda of the pandemic here since the discussion is about Bitcoin. Yes, the pandemic will prolly go down as one event that slightly affected Bitcoin in the last couple of years, though the effect was pretty minimal. Mind you that a similar event in the form of another pandemic doesn't have to/wouldn't happen to prove that history repeats itself, what that axiom means is that when we are in a bear market, events that hamper the price of Bitcoin occurs, and when we are in a bull market events that cause an appreciation in Bitcoin price occurs.
Right now some people are still waiting for more downside without any DCA so far, this is a very big risk if you ask me.
I wouldn't call it risky because anytime is a good time to invest in Bitcoin, the only thing is they could miss out on some good ROI through investing pretty late.

The way I see Manchester United I think they can play a draw game with Manchester City, Manchester United have much confidence to play with any big team right now. City are capable of winning the game but it won't be easy for them to achieve victory.
Manchester United are absolutely brimming with confidence right now, Rashford and Casemiro are playing at a very high level, and it is safe to say that Erik Ten Hag has found a winning formula for this Manchester United team, City on the other hand aren't at their best right now, they didn't shine so well against Leeds (though they won), struggled to breakdown Everton (which they drew), and just managed to win Chelsea by a lone goal, City are definitely not flying and this might be a good time for Manchester United to play them. Having said that, City won the first leg 6-3 at the Etihad, now they travel to the home of their bitter rivals Old Trafford, and i am pretty sure the fans would be pushing the Red Devils for a welll needed revenge on that day.
1723  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The deplorable condition of the Nigerian roads: How bad ur side dey, solution? on: January 07, 2023, 06:52:41 PM
Bad roads na long-standing problem for Nigeria oh, no be today we the citizens begin manage Naija road, e don kill many people, e don scatter plenty businesses, e they cause better problems everyday for people, person go enter road for 1 hour journey, e go spend like 5 hours for road, e no make sense na, but as typical Nigerians we just have to endure so tey we don become inure to suffering.

Having said that, the cause of this problem is the same as most of our problems, and na corruption, na wetin they destroy every sector for Nigeria, that is why nothing they work, if government no embezzle money wey them suppose use build new road, then road go good, if them no carry contracts give their family members wey be incompetent and greedy engineers wey go chop the money to construct new roads, come construct nonsense with substandard equipments, then road go good. The matter choke oh, and na only good governance and competence go change everything.
1724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can trustwallet be hacked. can the owners take money of all the users? on: January 05, 2023, 06:42:39 PM
I don't think have scenario about the owner will take fund for their user saving assets in trustwallet, seems impossible thing having developer want to give bad reputation for their platform have building for long term and spent much money, knowledge and actually they have spent their time.
Owners/founders of most new altcoins for example build 'reputation' for a long time, spend money and time to make people believe them, but they take all the money of their investors when they have garnered enough. Mind you that once it is a centralized service, you can lose money as a result of the direct or indirect actions of the owners, if Binance falls for example, there's a high probablily that trustwallet will go down with'em.
Trustwallet most safety placed for saving assets due has own controlling with seed phrase than alternative way when saving cryptocurrency in exchange market. Don't worry about saving fund in trustwallet due not connected with any dapp exchange market and never give access approving for dusting token.
The safest place for storing your funds/asset is offline/an airgapped device, trustwallet is none of that, it is closed source and an online wallet, it is pretty far from being the safest place to store your funds.
1725  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Unofficial General Guidelines For Posting( Na de koko dem) on: January 05, 2023, 06:29:10 PM
Then lastly, before you or we go consider any new pesin as a valid member we go see him stability and contribution towards our 9ja board and to the forum at large this one go make us very serious.
No be older users here they decide/consider new users to be valid member, as long as say you be Nigerian, you are eligible to post here, even non-Nigerians sev they free to comment for here or anywhere else (local boards included) as long as you sabi the language of communication for the board (without using GT or plagiarising), thus we would appreciate it if we have more quality users and less spammers, but this board is open for all. If users spam here, you can basically report their posts.
So make we put am for rules as well so that if dem report anybody wey be 9ja we go straight request for parma ban to reduce bad names so that we too go dey protected as I believe say many of us bele dey here and e no good make one common person come remove all our hands for table wey we dey carry chop.
We no go fit add that one to the unofficial guidelines/rules for here, no be naija users go tell moderators wetin them go do for forum, them they handle issues on a case by case basis, thus na moderators they decide wetin them go do about any user wey break rules (whether na Nigerian or not). Mind you say Nigerians they do well for forum, and na only very few times wey i don see say Naija person break rules or got banned, thus we suppose only tell new users about the forum rules and teach them wetin them suppose know. We no suppose put any extra effort to protect ourselves or to tell people say Naija people they good and industrious, if them no wan believe, na them they lose.

However, one thing that makes Manchester City the favorites to win is because Chelsea's condition is not doing well. Graham Potter is having a lot of problems with a number of injured players and it seems that even Potter is yet to find the right formula at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea's struggles are going to continue, there is even a real chance of them finishing outside of the top four this season. Firing Tuchel to hire Graham Potter still is one of the worst decisions made by any club thus far in the EPL this season. I mean, Graham Potter might have been good at Brighton, but some managers are good only in small clubs, i wish Graham Potter well, but tbh i think sooner or later he would be fired by Chelsea.

Having said that, City are not at their best right now, but they are very much better than Chelsea, and as the game is about to start i can't see anything that would ensure Chelsea are going to win this game, Pep is definitely going to outwit Potter and take the victory tonight.
1727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 05, 2023, 02:47:20 PM
This will be a tough match for Chelsea and Man City, and if we look at the performance of the two teams, most likely the match will end in a draw. The performance of the two teams is not doing well at the moment. Chelsea could only draw against Nottingham Forest, while Man City had never won in their last 2 matches. As the host, Chelsea definitely wants to be able to perform well in front of their supporters, but Man City is a very tough opponent, and I think Man City has a high motivation to chase Arsenal who also can only draw against Newcastle.
Chelsea v Manchester City would always be a tough encounter. No matter the form the two teams are on, it remains a heavyweight clash; i don't think this game is going to end in a draw, there would be a winner and most likely that winner is going to be Manchester City. City's last two EPL games was against Leeds United and Everton, of which they won the former and drew the latter, so it isn't quite correct that they (City) haven't won in their last two games. The 3 points is very important for both teams, City have to win to cut the gap on Arsenal to 5 points, whilst Chelsea needs the win to get close to the top four; it would be eagerly contested but i predict the winner to be the boys from the Etihad.
1728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 04, 2023, 11:40:22 PM
Kane has scored 15 goals in the league so far. If it weren't for Haaland's insane performance with 21 goals Kane would have been in a serious fight for being the top scorer. But he is still amazing with this effort.
Do not ever count Kane out in vying for the EPL highest goal scorer, i know Haaland has been impeccable in front of goal for City this season, and despite the fact that he leads Kane with 6 goals, it is definitely recoverable. There is also the possibility of a dip in form, goal drought, injury, fatigue, etc, that can affect either of this players, thus anything can still happen in the race for who would score the most this season. Having said that, for now anyway there is no question of who is currently the king of goals in the EPL, and it is Haaland, but what i am saying is that Kane is a born scorer as well, and he is consistent too, thus he is in the race.
1729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The founder of Clucoin just quit after admitting to have gambled investors fund on: January 04, 2023, 08:20:11 PM
Such news will only make investors to lose confidence in crypto even more especially with new projects. How can a founder be so reckless with little or no concerns about investors funds. Is this going to be the norm now with new alts projects?
It has been the norm for quite a long time now, new altcoin projects are more often than not up to no good, these days people just create one altcoin or the other to enrich themselves and nothing else. These project owners/founders are mostly scammers/impersonators who basically promise investors a lot, but none of such promises ever come to fruition, they just gather investors money, put it into their own pockets and disappear, it is a clear pattern that people should be conversant with now.

Having said that, this is definitely not going to be last scenario or occurrence on this, scammers are still going to create new projects and investors would definitely fall victim to it and lose their funds, rinse and repeat, i think no matter the losses people incure on altcoin projects, new ones would allure victims.
1730  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: INEC: Underage voters will be arrested on: January 04, 2023, 04:44:47 PM
The wahala of underage voting starts from the registration of underage voters, na from there INEC suppose begin tackle the matter, no be only on election day them suppose they find underage voters to arrest, them suppose don issue this warning to both 'prospective' underage voters and to their officials even before registration of PVC's start.

E go they difficult to completely eradicate underage voting for Naija, but we suppose fight am, come reduce am to the minimum; and INEC suppose start with their officials wey they register underage voters/allow underage people to vote; everything still boils down to corruption, that is the where most of our problems stem from, me i believe say if corruption fit reduce for every sector in Nigeria, the country to better. Make we see how things go pan out after they make the voters list public and on the election day proper, if them go fit quell underage matter, then the higher the chance of the best candidate winning.

According to reports, Arsenal are seriously interested in bringing Murdryk to their side, I read an initial bid was turned down by Shaktar who are requesting a more substantial offer something close to eighty million. Arsenal have come back with a new and improved bid hopeful Shaktar will accept the offer and proceed to signing contrats and letting the player join this January.
There is another twist in this Mykhailo Mudryk's saga as Chelsea are now interested in the Arsenal target. It looked like Arsenal were the sole team interested in signing the Ukrainian winger, but right now they have strong competition on their hands. Having said that Shakhtar Donetsk want to make the most out of their star player, that is why they have rejected at least two proposals/bids from Arsenal, the Gunners have to act fast and acquire their man, or else Chelsea are going to steal him from right under their nose.

Having said that, if Arsenal's pursuit of the Ukrainian falls through and Chelsea signs him, it will be the latest high profile 'steal' after Liverpool 'stole' Cody Gakpo from right under Manchester United's nose, i'm enjoying this transfer window already. Grin Grin

But if we talk about Newcastle, we can say that so far Newcastle have played very well and are very different from last season. and many would say that this season Newcastle has truly exceeded any of our expectations.
Newcastle are absolutely a different team this season, and they will get better next season and going forward because now the club has the funds to buy quality players, what they have to do now is to make it possible for themselves to allure these quality players and the perfect way to do it would be to qualify for the CL next season by finishing in the top four this season.

Having said that, the point apiece for Arsenal and Newcastle is good result for the both of them. It is going to be extremely difficult for Newcastle to finish in the top four, but with their recent performances they might be able to achieve it if they maintain this their consistency.
1733  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you don't get the merit, the ranking won't go up? on: January 03, 2023, 09:32:31 PM
I just created my account today after scrolling through these forums for a few months. I am a newbie who doesn't have the intricate knowledge of cryptocurrency so how can I contribute to topics if I have no knowledge on them? I am going to start researching and reading a lot in the next few days and hopefully get merited. Thanks for your suggestion! Smiley
Mind you too that earning merits do not come quite fast for most users, though there are some exceptional users that have Bitcoin/crypto/any unique knowledge even before they ever became a user on this forum, thus earning merits could be easier for such users even in their early days in their forum, but the thing is that most users aren't like that, that is why it is usually a slow and interesting process for most.

Having said that, since you are a newbie don't forget to take your time to learn, if you do not have knowledge to contribute to topics now, then don't, use this time to garner that essential knowledge. You also don't have to hope to get merited, or to post solely to get merited, just garner knowledge and contribute to the forum because you want to discuss/communicate and you'd definitely get merits.
1734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 03, 2023, 05:35:15 PM
When I look at today's matches, I see that it is a very important match. Maybe the fate of the league depends on this match. Arsenal-Newcastle united match is an important match in terms of changing the course of the league. If Arsenal gets 3 points with a good game, they will take the psychological advantage. Otherwise city will get closer to arsenal. If Arsenal wants to win the championship this year, I think they absolutely have to win this match no matter what.
There is no doubt that this game is a very important game for both Arsenal and Newcastle, but it definitely isn't a title decider and the fate of the league doesn't depend on it. I mean, Arsenal are already 7 points ahead in the table, it is not like they will lose top spot if they lose today and City wins on Thursday, if it happens in this way they'll still have the lead by at least 4 points which is quite great.

Having said that, Arsenal would definitely want to win, of course they would, and i think they have all it takes to do it, but what i mean is that, losing won't be the end of the world for them, they would still remain at the summit of the table no matter the outcome of these games. City themselves have a tough opponent in Chelsea on Thursday, and with their pretty bad form they aren't even guaranteed to win.
1735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 02, 2023, 05:20:56 PM
After Chelsea brought in Aubameyang I thought the team will improve very quick.  But I'm not seeing any improvement from Chelsea instead.  Most of the big teams in the English  premier league are showing improvement but only Chelsea is still remaining stagnant,   no improvement at all.
Aubameyang is no longer a top quality footballer, i actually thought Chelsea would make a move for Ronaldo before he went to Al Nassr, but that wasn't to be, i guess they had other ideas in their head. Having said that, Chelsea's problem isn't solely on Aubameyang, it is a team issue, Sterling that came into the team in the summer from City isn't doing too great, but prolly not too bad as well. The thing is, at this point in time Chelsea look quite average, they do not have that top club mentality anymore, and imo that problem stems from the manager Graham Potter, he isn't a big club manager and i have said it a couple of times before, Chelsea deserve better and i don't think they'll achieve much, if anything with Graham Potter as their coach.
1736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters, how much you really earned in the last two years? on: January 02, 2023, 02:01:11 PM
I open bounty forums every day, but I don't think I can start, I don't know how to choose the right one. I have very little experience and am still learning. I hope that the projects I find can last for a long time. See everyone discussing that the bounty campaign was the peak six or seven years ago...
The thing is, it is pretty difficult, highly improbably and almost impossible to choose the right bounty project, quite a lot of them are scam projects built on fake promises that would never come to fruition, thus people waste their time promoting and investing in them and in the end they only enrich the project owners whilst they are left with only wasted time, effort and worthless coins.

Having said that, if you are a regular in the forum you must have read bounty hunters complain that more often than not they work for free, in that they advertise for a project for months, only for the project manager to refuse them payment in the last minute due to one weak excuse/reason or the other. If you still choose to start bounty campaigns after all you've read people say about it, then it is up to you, but you'd be better off doing something more productive in the network.
1737  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Naija Reps & Cryptocurrency Palava on: January 02, 2023, 12:29:37 PM
Nor be lie say our country go soon dey accept crypto, that one dey very expected and na normal something wey go occur as far crypto still dey the background
You they talk about Naija making Bitcoin legal tender? I no sure about that one oh, me i no believe say Naija go make decentralized currency like Bitcoin a legal tender, i they use Bitcoin talk because na the crypto wey popular pass and the only one wey stand any chance to be legal tender for any country for the whole world.

If you they talk say merchants go soon they accept crypto, that one concern the merchant because crypto no they illegal for Naija, person fit accept crypto if them want, Naija government no make crypto trade illegal, the only thing wey them do na to block link between Naija banks and crypto exchanges, that is all. So as the matter be so, crypto is fully accepted in Nigeria, e no be legal tender, but e no they illegal, banks no follow for crypto matter again, but P2P they.
1738  Economy / Economics / Re: The world continues dumping US dollar (Gold, New World Order, World War III) on: January 02, 2023, 10:15:38 AM
I am really surprised that gold has been performing so well in the last 2 months, because the rest of 2022 it was not moving at all. Still remembering my grandparents telling me that gold is the best investment when the world is in trouble, but when the Russia Ukraine war started and we reached double digit inflation rates nothing happened to gold.
The price of gold doesn't move spontaneously, it isn't a volatile asset and that is why it is relatively safe and prolly the most perfect hedge to inflation. Your grandparents are correct because gold is a store of value/safe haven asset, so what they meant by it is a great investment when the world is in trouble is that it can retain its value for a very long time, even amidst crisis and wars, it doesn't mean it 'multiplies' the value anyway.
Maybe we going to see gold become the number currency for international trade again if the Dollar dumping continues. This could be also good for crypto currencies as they are an alternative to gold for protecting our money.
Tbh i sincerely don't think we'd see that, some countries may be dumping dollar, but i disagree that it would be completely replaced by gold as the currency of international trade. Crypto doesn't technically protect people's money, a whole lot of them are scam/fake coins; Bitcoin is different though, and it can be a hedge to devaluation, but it is quite volatile in short term.
1739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 02, 2023, 09:35:29 AM
I think Liverpool will score 2 goals in this game.  There will be victory in the match. Liverpool is a very strong team from Brentford. I will support Liverpool in this game. Liverpool team has many good quality players.
One thing that is certain is that Brentford are going to cause Liverpool quite a lot of problems, just as they do to most of their opposition, especially the big teams in the League. Brentford are having a very good season to say the least, the fact that they are just 5 points behind Liverpool proves that fact to be true. If Liverpool were playing this game at home then i'd say they'll win, but with their current form and going away from home to Brentford is shaping up to be an interesting game with an upset waiting to happen.

Happy New Year. Still a few hours away for me but a decent portion of the world has celebrated the new year already. I wish you all the best for 2023 and remember to get health checks throughout 2023 so nothing creeps up on you or your families.
Quite right, health is wealth is a very popular axiom, and it is true; we cannot use Bitcoin if we aren't healthy, we can do prolly nothing if our health fails us, so health checks are very important in detecting problems early and finding possible solutions to them.

Yahoo our hearts are definitely solidly with you, get ready for a fun-filled 2023 because soon i believe everything will be over and you will be fine and healthy. Happy New Year to every bitcointalk user, in sound health and wealth.
