Meanwhile, $BTC sneaks it's way upwards near $52k again on Bitstamp...
A matter of time. Maybe next 24 hours are critical.

/me feels so bullish, it almost hurts (in a good way) #nohomo

reminder for everyone. New weekly candle is starting with a pump. This is it. Buy or cry.

I'm broke.
A brake of my car got defective, also the lawnmower, gotta pay therapy bills (fully refunded, but later in october).
I will still continue with lump-sum spending next month, though.

This is strange OOM... You are at least a 2-3 year bitcoiner, no?

4y almost exactly.

Quote
You should have gotten your cashflow shit together by now, no?

Yes, but there are some unexpected costs this month. Once they are covered (and recovered) i can buy corn again.

Quote
I am not necessarily blaming you for both potential cashflow management issues and perhaps some feelings of necessity to draw more from your BTC holdings than what might be in your preferences, due to ongoing expenses.. anticipated and perhaps some expenses that are not so much anticipated.  But you know, even if expenses are not anticipated, ideally, there should always be some anticipated of the unanticipated.. and that is why many of the more insightful of long term investors strive to keep some balance in their monies which includes abilities to draw from a variety of funds, including NOT being so overinvested in any assets that the withdrawal would be at a time that is anything other than a  time of their own choosing....

There's that too, i just don't want to draw money from my BTC holdings. I just would need to buy back later at a higher price.
It's OK for me to just park money in BTC, for mid-term later use, but i already did that with the house extension and maxed out the amount.
So my BTC stash reached #hodl figures again and i will only add to it. Remember the original long term goal: 1 BTC per family member.
This month i can't add anything to it, maybe next month, depending on how things go, but the month after the next, i can add a wee portion of mBTC most certainly.

I guess now you can call me a BTC maxi  Grin

Bye bye 52k
I was looking for $55K but its going down very quickly right now.

Sometimes that happens….

Sometimes that's a down-before-up....

Forgot to tell this story yesterday:

I was driving on the motorway, in the destination direction i saw a car sign showing "BOSSES" in red letters on it. It must have been from some eastern european country, could not make it out because it was driving in the other direction.
On the way back home i was passed by a Volvo, driving quite some mph faster than me (in my wife's 60HP "supercar"), and the car sign was showing ...wait for it...
"BITCOINS" in black letters, white background. I also couldn't identify the exact country, because some bastard from bulgaria almost crashed into the back of my wife's car a second later, only to follow me with less than 9 feet distance at 75mph (next lane was free).

In short: Seems like King Daddy has touched down in eastern europe, too.

$52k in play today.
rocket base is fueling up, according to the orderbooks.

Defects and therapy bills set me back about -$600 this month, so i can probably resume buying at the end of october.
The fucking lawnmower was repaired for free (warranty), at least  Roll Eyes

have a nice day.

EDIT: -$600, not only $600. In addition to my other monthly expenses.

Thats even worse than getting covid

Not really comparable, imo.
I'm only broke in terms of fiat. Costs are higher than the number on my bank account.
Still hodling BTC, not touching a damn Sat.
Shit happens, will recover soon.

It's Sunday, btw.

Car? Lawnmower? Therapy?

Next thing you'll be saying you have a job and a mortgage.

Dude, you're doing it wrong.  Cool

Actually i'm working to build a business, together with my wife. Living on insurance is fine, but it doesn't replace a meaningful life.
Could take a year or two.
I'll never have a mortgage, ever  Cool

Are we witnessing "investors" front running Sept. 7th or is this the onset of the real bull thing?
1730  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 05, 2021, 07:46:12 PM
So, I tested positive for COVID-19.

Good times.

Feels like I've been absolutely smeared by an 18 wheeler.

Have not ever experienced cold or flu symptoms this harsh before.

I'll recover fine. No respiratory congestion at all so far, but Rick said his congestion started on day 3 of the infection, so, we'll see how things go. However, I think Rick did himself no favors with his infection, and ended up contracting secondary conditions because he was working, and not resting.

Thank you, China.

Assholes.

At least we'll both have natural immunity after I recover, so that's nice.

Bed-rest for me for at least the next week.

Have a great Sunday, friends.

I'm just scared of this shit and I am also scared of the vaccination due to reported cases of side reactions. I will soon be going for mandatory youth service as I'm done with undergraduate studies and everyone has to be tested  Huh Huh

Get well soon buddy.

This virus is a different beast. Vaccines are still poorly researched, medication also, it's only vaxx or symptomatic treatment at the time.
We can only successfully combat this virus when the world's people are acting as one. A global shutdown would end this within weeks, but as twisted as we got, there is no real chance to succeed.
I'm also waiting for vaccines that can be inhaled, which creates antibodies in the tissues of nose, throat and lungs. This would stop most of the severe covid cases and also the spreading by vaccinated people, thus decreasing the chance of mutation and "slippage" (viruses adjusting to outplay vaccines).
Q4/2021 at earliest, most probably around the time the "delta wave" is expected to peak. (no conspiracy theories, please)

both of us were at 87-89 oxogen levels you could feel it. She had 2x pneumonia but she got better.

Picked up a pulse oximeter when this whole COVID-19 shebang started.

O2 levels are at 95% and heart rate is pretty steady at 70 bpm. Usually run close to 59-62 bpm when healthy. No fever right now - totally normal. But burned up to 101.x last night before heading back down.

Not anticipating any issues fighting this off, based on how I'm feeling presently. I have to think the first day of infection is the worst, provided you don't come down with secondary infections. The 24 hour Advil I took is starting to wear off, so starting to feel a bit cruddy again. Body aches and chills slowly starting to return.

I'm actually a little bit upset the fucking horse paste is taking so goddamn long to arrive...

Bob: Please take care and do not hesitate to go to hospital if necessary. Had a friend who ran a horse farm, nice woman stubborn, loaded hay bales, etc. Got sick, better, sick, better, sick went to hospital called me with "This is not the Flu", better, was going to be discharged, died.

Still upset about this. Use care, it goes away then comes back and hits hard. Weird shit. Use all resources to stay alive.

Read this: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanres/article/PIIS2213-2600(21)00160-0/fulltext#%20
Certain asthma sprays effectively help fighting covid19, especially when administered at an early stage.
I'd try to get some of this stuff, ASAP.

EDIT: In the hospital they will give you oxygen, which is only addressing the symptom of low blood oxygen. The root cause for the symptom is the inflamed lung tissue, which has to be fought in the first place. If it's too much, only a combination of antibodies and ventilation, which needs anesthesia, what in turn puts a lot of stress on your system. The point is: Do something that effectively helps fighting it and do it EARLY.

A friend of my wife got Alpha, fever and short breath returned two times, then it was over. No post-symptoms, but she said it felt like someone was sitting on her chest.

Not sure why market prefers running all kinds of s-t instead of btc..hoping for some major news (twitter implementation, ETF, etc) to shake the alt "bugs" off.
...

Greed, my friend, is what is driving the shitcoin (and NFT) market.
I don't care. Institutions and companies are investing massively in Bitcoin, the more announcements they make within the next weeks, the more shitcoin volume will be pulled over to king daddy. Big money will come from deep pockets this time, retail will jump in right before the blow-off top, but i think the next bearcycle bottom will be higher than it used to be. S-curve onset time, imo.

From what little I know about MIDI, it's not really suitable for such a task.

That's true. I worked extensively with MIDI,sequencing and SMPTE sync starting in 1986. The MIDI 1.0 spec would let you send note-on and note-off for "notes" designated 0-127. The receiving synth could then apply the note numbers to whatever sound(s) the operator chose.

By nature a Theremin is all 'swoopy' and never has perfect steps between notes (see the chorus on Beach Boy's "Good Vibrations"). MIDI additionally lets you change filters, velocity, and all sorts of computery music things. The MIDI 2.0 standard was introduced at the 2020 Winter NAMM show, but I haven't kept up.

I was around a Theremin once. Since I knew nothing about really playing it, beyond 'this hand is pitch and this hand is volume' all I could do was make strange science fiction noises.

You could define a middle note (c4 or a4) and use pitchbend-like control messages for gliding pitch control.
Much like CV, but in MIDI form. I used that on some occasions with oct/volt equipment and cv-midi interfaces.
Props for the Moog story, by the way. Legend  Cool

I used real CV (Control Voltage)  once. From memory, that was one volt per octave? Didn't look it up. I used Roland CV from an SH-101 (still have it) to a Jupiter 8 (still have it, the last of the analog monsters, 8 oscillators!! {a MiniMoog has 3} Sync all 8 to one key. You'd better put on a helmet.) The  proprietary stuff worked like a charm. CV desired to be what MIDI actually became: The One Interface, To Control Them All. And MIDI really was...

I was more of a MIDIOT, I knew of the cv-MIDI conversions, did not see them.

Again, and as always, the WO provides extreme fringe knowledge from our depth and breadth of experiences. And, Linkin Park videos!

It's 1 volt per octave, correct. Owning a SH101, Minimoog, Jupiter 8 (used for massive Drum'n Bass saw wave bass sounds) and probably some other models from the golden age of analog synthesis is like having legendary status regarding synths (did i say this before already?).
I had a MS20 (Korg) which was also awesome for raw bass sounds, but also bleeps and fx, sported a patch area, but i guess you also know the synth and probably own one. Korg used a different standard (oct/Hz afair) coming from their system100 modulars. I actually owned two of them (EDIT: MS20, not System 100), because i had to sell the first one because i needed the money, bought a second one later, just to sell it years after for the same reason.
We were a small community of music producers (basement class), coming from hiphop DJ and Alternative Rock bands background. Everybody owned some kind of equipment, so we threw it all together in the basement of one of our members' parents. Got in touch with macOS back then, sporting (emagic's) logic as sequencer.
This was when i played around with some legendary analog gear, before we all went digital with samplers and DAW.
Afaik MIDI was mainly useful for saving and restoring data, and man, as i remember these times, i know i did a lot of midi dumps using the younger digital synths (korg 707, roland d50, the midified, less famous Jupiters) until we could afford an Akai sampler with a 3.5" floppy drive...

I have to respect some OpSec as well, but i can tell so much, that we knew a well known geek personally, who was able to repair all the synths, guitars and electronics.
He bought one of my MS20 for getting replacement parts, while he already owned four (!) of them. He never sold a piece or instrument. Never. Visiting his house was like traveling back in synthesis time.

When i gave up making music, two decades later, with an intermittent decade of workaholism in between, i sold my 5 row modular (Doepfer) and put most of the money into Bitcoin and remaining taxes. I used to send CV via my RME audio interface's outputs before i got an eight channel cv/midi interface. It was awesome, making me able to record, edit and play back all the CV using 44,1Hz rate and 8 bit resolution from the DAW.

I met an adjunct professor in the cafeteria completely randomly.  He was not currently teaching, but he had a love for electronic music and prog rock which I also liked.  His name was Bob.  We become fast friends, and would meet for lunch often over the next several weeks.  He liked to talk about what I wanted to do with music, and he also told me lots about some of the crazy projects he was doing.  At the time he was working out the idea for a Theramin ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin ).  He was wanting to build one that sent MIDI.  I told him I thought this was super cool, and that I would want one myself, but that I thought it would be a niche instrument at best.

From what little I know about MIDI, it's not really suitable for such a task.

It can handle it... I think it would just send CC data like crazy on probably 2 axis.

But it's funny.  That day that I figured out who he was that was alike the second thought I had.  And this legendary genius want's to build WHAT?!?!  Maybe you only get so many world changing ideas to keep it fair.  That said.  they still sell those things.. the newest iteration has "pitch correction"!

Pitch correction like autotune or like an analog pitch quantizer in "full" mode?

EDIT: Bitcoin, do something.

FYI, baby boy:
Anthraxx/Public Enemy (if not already RunDMC, a couple of years earlier) tied the boots for Nurock bands like LP and LB.
Music is a cultural mini-multiverse in itself.

True that they did but none of them put Sounds together like LP/Mike Shinoda. He Got that gift 🙂

While Shinoda's solo album was disappointing. But Chester (RIP), as complicated and emotionally fucked up as a person he might have been, was needed by Shinoda to be able to create the success of LP.

have a nice day  Grin

https://medium.com/blockstream-markets-weekly/blockstream-markets-weekly-sep-3-2021

- Twitter working on BTC support
- El Salvador approves $150M BTC fund
- Miners record $1.4B in monthly revenue
- Skybridge capital expects $100K by year-end
- Paul Tudor Jones rumored to be preparing new BTC fund
- Institutional interest: BTC linked stonks are outperforming BTC
- and volatility drops as BTC tests smashes through $50K once again

And price goes down.

Head scratching...

Head scratching indeed because the same thing is not really happening for shitcoins. Which makes me think their is the possibility of either:

  • Another top like earlier in the year
  • When Bitcoin goes high enough people are tkaing profits and putting them into shitcoins
  • Entities are doing their best to supress the price of Bitcoin against rising demand

Regarding the third option, very possible, as we are not getting dumps but more like just putting a cap on the gains. These entities may not have the ability to force a dump. Though I think the second option is more likely. Obviously, the smart money is not doing this, but if there is anything about this space it is that it is filled with a shitload of dumb money.

I do think the price is going to blow straight up in a massive way soon though.

Still, 900 BTC each day added to total amount of corn. So, if not at least 900 per day are purchased, additionally to the coins in "rotation", price has no reason to go up.
Just my 2c

Aside of that, i feel a lot of peeps "diversify", meaning put some percentage of their stash into hopium shitcoins to achieve moar profit, either $ or BTC.
I read of some "investors" completely out in stablecoins, waiting for sub $40k bitcoin prices.
NFT grabs a lot of attention and money, but i feel like this bubble is about to pop soon. It's quite sad that peeps invest so much fiat money or bitcoin into shit, but what else would you expect people do with all the Brrrrrrr they get?

EDIT: of course, i expect all the money which is not "lost" within shitcoin lotteries to come back into BTC and central bank controlled stablecoins (look at china), though central banks will try everything to get rid of Bitcoin, which we - of course - know is impossible.
